There’s such a storied history among these four core members of Mohavisoul! Orion is a Berklee College of Music graduate, Mark has a degree in science, Randy has an extensive and prolific music pedigree, and the other guys are no slouches either. These guys have an interesting strategy when writing their songs and allow their individual style’s of music blend and cross through different genres, creating their own unique sound! We get a live performance featuring the Banjo from the English-Born Jason Weiss, an Upright Bass by Orion Boucher, the Mandolin by Randy Hanson, and the Guitar styling’s of Mark Miller towards the end of the episode! We love being able to give you guys exclusive experiences like that! We missed out on the Fiddle that ∫ adds to the group.
MohaviSoul released their newest album in 2017 and we feature two tracks from it, along with the LIVE PERFORMANCE! “Hometown Blues” is the title track and was written by Mark…and it definitely takes you to a good ol’ hometown feel. The guys released two EP’s in 2013…this new FULL-LENGTH album features 12 original tracks. SHOUT OUT to Mannequin Vanity Records and Cathryn Beeks for being so supportive of so many bands in San Diego, including MohaviSoul! Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
