What if slowing down wasn’t weakness, but wisdom?

Have you ever achieved something big, only to feel guilty about resting afterward?

Why is it so hard to receive the very ease we worked so hard to create?

When was the last time you truly gave yourself permission to pause?

Welcome to the Inspiring Innovators Show. My name is Paul Henczel and today, I’m talking about what it means to truly receive rest after the climb. Not just physically, but emotionally, energetically, and soul-deep.

You’ve climbed a mountain most people couldn’t imagine.

You adapted, endured, and reshaped your entire life around healing, rebuilding, and rising. And maybe now… life feels a little calmer. A little more free. But here’s the catch—your nervous system doesn’t always catch up right away.

The mind and body often stay in survival mode long after the emergency ends. It’s like your inner alarm is still ringing even though the fire is out. That’s not failure. That’s biology.

Feeling tired, overwhelmed, or slow after a season of high output doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means your system is recalibrating.

It’s asking for something it never had space for before: rest, presence, and safety.

Let me say this clearly—you are allowed to rest in the life you’ve built.

Ease is not a reward you have to earn over and over again. It’s a right.

You didn’t just survive. You transformed. And now, this moment—the stillness, the pause, the exhale—is part of your healing.

You are not falling behind. You are falling into alignment.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
