Today I want to talk to you about something that's been keeping me up at night. While the world was celebrating the release of 20 Israeli hostages after more than two years, thousands of Palestinian families were quietly waiting for their loved ones to come home—people held without trial, without a date, without a voice.
In this piece, I'm telling you about the Global Sumud Flotilla, this fleet of hope that tried to break through the blockade to Gaza in October 2025. Among the crew were six Mexicans who put their bodies on the line where most people just put words. They were intercepted, detained, sent back home. But what they did reminded us of something crucial: that humanity can still choose to look pain in the face.
This isn't a war of religions. It's a crisis of humanity. And humanity doesn't have flags.
The flotilla didn't make it to Gaza, but it reached where it needed to: our conscience. Today I'm inviting you to look beyond the headlines, to listen past the political narratives, and to ask ourselves what kind of world we want to build.
What's the point of being right when children are starving to death?
I'm sharing this reflection with the hope that this time, humanity won't be too late.
