Agi Keramidas (00:03):
Welcome to Personal Development mastery
podcast, and this is anothersnippet of wisdom where I select
my most insightful moments fromprevious episodes. Today's
snippet comes from myconversation with Richard Flint,
who is a keynote speaker trainerand mentor. He talks about the
four primary questions to buildyour life on. I hope it's as

(00:28):
insightful for you as it was forme.

Richard Flint (00:33):
There are four questions that you can build
your life on, and they come inone order, and you can't go to
question number two until youcan answer question number one.
You can't go to three or fouruntil you answer question number
two or number three. And here, here are the questions where
everything has to start. What doI really want for my life? And

(00:59):
it's not, what do I want? That'sa that's a surface question. The
word really is the word thatdigs inside you. What do you
really want for your life? Ifind that most people live
unhappy with their life becauseit's all outside. I'm known for

(01:23):
my definition of words. I'vewritten four volumes of
dictionaries, and this is mydefinition of a job. Because
people have a job. My definitionof a job is an environment that
a human goes to every day, wherethey prostitute themselves for a
paycheck, but they're not happydoing it, but they do it for the

(01:47):
money, but yet they keep talkingabout what they're going to do
someday with their life and thechild. The challenge with most
people is they get so lockedinto that circle of sameness,
they never get to the reallywant for your life, and to have
that be better and to besmarter, to be stronger, it's

(02:09):
got to be based in what do youreally want for your life? And
you know, with what you're doingwith your life, does it give you
happiness? Does it give you asense of fulfilment, does it let
you be free to be you? And if itdoesn't, then you're you're a
prisoner within yourself. Nowyou and I both known people that

(02:33):
have had a career, and they'veworked one job for 30 years, 40
years, 50 years. But you knowwhat? That's their passion.
That's what they want to do withtheir life. And if you ask them,
What do you really want for yourlife, they'll tell you, I'm
doing it. But that's a verysmall percentage. Agi, most

(02:54):
people live their life runningor not understanding what they
could really do with their life.
So question number one, why doyou really want? What do you
really want for your life?
That's purpose. That's purpose.
And then question number two,why do you really want this? You
know, if you can have if youknow the what, why do you really

(03:18):
want this, and that's thediscovery process of, why am I
willing to give myself to this?
What's it going to bring to mylife? What's it going to allow
my life to give to others? Andthose two questions stand alone

(03:40):
of the four, because that's thepurpose and the discovery. Now,
once I can answer those two, I'mready for question number three,
and these last two questionsreally get really get tough.
What price Am I willing to payto achieve it? I would venture

(04:02):
to say that in your life, thatnot everything for you has come
easy. And I would venture to saythat you're where you are today
because you know what the pricetag has been, and you've been
willing to pay it, and it's,it's more than financial, it's

(04:23):
mental, it's emotional, It'sspiritual. For everything you
and I want to do with our life, there's a price tag to it, you
know, and there's got to be theself motivation. I mean, people
ask me all the time, are you amotivational speaker? And I tell

(04:44):
them, No, I'm an educationalentertainer, because what I do
is I entertain people withknowledge, and if I have to
motivate Agi, then I have toadopt him, and I don't want to
do that, but I can teach you. Orthe process for self motivation,
I can teach you that, and thenthere has to be a big price tag,

(05:08):
which is discipline. I mean, ifyou and I are not disciplined,
then what do we do? We createprocrastination, we create
clutter, we get our life justreally messed up discipline is
that inner desire anddetermination, with your feet
nailed to the ground to this iswhat I'm supposed to do with my

(05:30):
life. And then question numberfour is really the is really the
ultimate question, whatbehaviours will I have to
improve to achieve what I wantand I need for people to
understand the word I use. Ididn't say what behaviours will
I need to change, but I said, improve. Why? Because change is

(05:55):
an emotional word. Most peoplefight change because change is
designed to take you out of acomfortable routine. And I it's
not about what I need to change,it's what I need to improve
every day my mind wants me toimprove. Every day my mind opens

(06:17):
up opportunities for me and tocontinue to grow, I have to look
at my life through the selflimitations I put on me and
working with human behaviour.
And I take on 10 people a yearfrom all over the world, and I'm
their their mentor for one yearof their life. And the thing
that we keep looking at is,where do you need to improve,

(06:39):
because limitations are selfimposed. And so many of these
Agi these limitations areimposed because of people's
fear, from the day I was born tothe day that I die. And the same
thing with you. You and I aregoing to fight six fears in our

(07:00):
life, the fear of the unknownthat can hold people hostage,
the fear of abandonment, that'llhold someone hostage, the fear
of failure, the fear ofrejection, the fear of loss, and
then the number one, Agi withyoung people today, the fear of

(07:22):
success. Young people don't knowwhat success is today. They know
what it is to be taken care of,but when they have to stand on
their own two feet, they haven'tbeen prepared. So what
behaviour, our behaviours am Igoing to have to improve in

(07:45):
order for me to take my what, mywhy and my price tag and
implement them?
