Agi Keramidas (00:00):
Agi, welcome to Personal Development mastery

(00:05):
podcast. I'm your host, AgiKeramidas, and this is episode
527 today I want to talk aboutchange, about transition,
uncertainty. Sometimes we chooseChange, other times, change

(00:28):
chooses us. And sometimes wefeel called to take a leap, even
though we have no clear ideawhere we will land. Today, I
want to speak directly to youlistening. I know you are on

(00:52):
your personal developmentjourney. You are working on
yourself, but perhaps you feelsome uncertainty, or you are in
transition or unclear. And thefirst thing I would like to show
you is that you are not alone inthis phase. Lately, I've been

(01:18):
thinking about a particularmoment in my life, one of the
most pivotal moments of my life, that shaped everything that
followed. It was a decision thaton one hand, it looked bold and

(01:40):
courageous, and it was but onthe other hand, there was
uncertainty, fear of theunknown, leaving the familiar
behind. And this happened to me15 years ago when I decided to
leave my home country, Greece, and moved to the UK. At that

(02:05):
time, I was in my 30s, and Ileft behind the life that I
knew, my country, my friends, myfamily, my dental practice, my
fiance, leaving all that behindand moved to the UK in a pursuit
of a deeper desire, a calling, adream that was calling me,

(02:33):
calling me to leak. And if youwere there and you could see me
at the airport in Athens on thatsunny April day, you would have
seen a fairly young chap with aone way ticket in his pocket,
two suitcases in his hands, andmixed feelings of excitement for

(02:59):
the future ahead and alsosadness for the life he was
living behind. So at that time,I left a lot behind, the people,
the language, the comfort zone, and I chose a new life in many

(03:21):
respects. And an important pointI want to stress here is that
there was uncertainty, there wasfear of the unknown. But courage
is not lack of fear. Courage istaking action in spite of fear.

(03:45):
I learned many things from thistransition, not just about
moving countries, but I mean, about stepping into the unknown
without proof, yes, with a plan, but without proof. And another
important thing here and biglesson is that clarity doesn't

(04:11):
always come before action.
Clarity often comes afteraction. Let me repeat this
because it is important. Claritydoesn't always come before
action. Clarity often comesafter action. And when we choose
to leave something familiarbehind, our identity is

(04:36):
challenged, and our identityshifts when we transition, when
we step into the unknown likethis, as the Agi goes everything
you want is on the other side offear and the fact that clarity
the. Doesn't always come beforeaction. If anything, it shows

(05:01):
the importance of some level oftrust, trust that something
meaningful, something wonderful, something expansive, awaits on
the other side of thediscomfort, trust or even
surrender. This was one of themost uncertain periods of my

(05:29):
life, and of course, onhindsight now, it was one of the
best decisions I've ever takenin my life. Sometimes I think of
that life and what I would havelost if I hadn't made the move,

(05:49):
if I hadn't taken the bolddecision, and I want to draw a
parallel here to you to reflecton your own threshold moment.
You may not be getting on aplane, but maybe you are

(06:10):
standing at the edge of adecision, a change you feel
called to make, but haven't yetdecided to act on or dared to
act on, shall I say, maybe it'ssomething in your work or in
your relationships, or how yousee yourself, and maybe like me,

(06:32):
then you are realising that thepain of staying the same is
outweighing the fear of steppingforward. What do you risk
missing by not stepping forward?

(06:57):
And one more question, whatwould a one way ticket look like
in your life, in yourcircumstances? This is the kind
of space I hold in my coaching, helping you see what's already

(07:17):
whispering beneath the surface.
So if you ever find yourselffiguratively holding a one way
ticket and you would like totalk, I'd be honoured to share
the conversation with you, simply go to the link in the
show notes, which is personaldevelopment mastery

(07:38):
podcast.com/mentor and somejourneys begin the moment you
buy the ticket. Others begin themoment you stop pretending you
don't want to until next timestand out. Don't fit in.
