overcast, all that sort of stuff. Some lightning out there as well,
So storms are coming. I jokedwith a friend that came into town,
storms are coming. It's called themain of NFL. Sable baby.
I had a friend coming to towntoday. She's British and I said,
it's British you. I say somethinglike, you British girls brought in all
(00:54):
the bad weather. We haven't hadrain here in three hundred dice. I'm
not a fan of British girls.I'm not a fan of British accents.
I love what yep. The Britishaccent is maybe the worst in the top
accent, the worst, number one, It could be number one. I
mean, I'm just saying, giveme a British accent any day of the
(01:14):
week. I'm all in, likestrong, Yeah, I'm all in on
British accent. I'm not. I'mfor sure not. Ok We are down
to eighteen players in the twenty twentyfour World Series of Poker Main Event,
the record breaking World Series of PokerMain Events, the greatest poker tournament in
the world. Okay, right,no, no, just just in the
(01:38):

players are all guaranteed three hundred andfifty thousand dollars. We're going to recap
the action today, everything that wentdown, very very very exciting day on
the felt I guess we also gotto talk about some other stuff that happened
here. Even though I only wantto talk about the main event, only
(01:59):
the main Event, I almost feellike we need two different podcasts, two
different eppisodes quickly. That's what Ido. If you notice, I do
the main event mostly, and Isay, and then take it over and
just on your Instagram. It's NOTTchecking stuff. And I don't go on

need two winners, buddy, whatare we giving a wife fist? We're
still doing two night Shift shirts becausethe Nightshift is back. It is absolutely
mother f and elite. The Nightshiftis the greatest show. Can I say
(02:46):
the greatest show on television? Itis tremendous. It's definitely not the greatest
show on television, but it's youcan say it's tremendous. It's just so
good. It's so good. Ijust listened to Ali say on on the
broadcast. We're not going to sticka truro in him just yet about the
Mexican player who spiked a four todouble up being that's pretty good. I
(03:09):
mean, the cartel might be comingafter him, but he gone. I
feel like Ali is you know, all right? You know what Ali is
just he's a guy who like helikes to live on the edge verbal,
verbally, you know, and atsome point he might get punched in the
face, but you know, weall love him near and near to our
(03:30):
hearts of course, just the absolutegoat in the booth right alongside the other
goat, Nick Shulman. I meanit's just, I mean it's it's just,
it's a tantem un like we've everseen before. It really is.
Yeah, two winners in honor ofthe night Shift. We'll give up talking
about Miguel. We need two numberson a night shift shirt, by the
way, on the eighty six.Two numbers on the eighty six. Also
(03:50):
the knight Shift shirt. Yeah, the knight Shift shirt needs to be redone.
It does ten. Let's check ifwe have ten. We already have
a winner for ten. I triedto I tried to pick ten yesterday.
What seventy three? Why did youpick seventy three? Yeah? We got
one there? Oh okay, FredHazelton the either way to a nothirtation.
(04:11):
One more number, please me goeighty seven. Dustin Simonovic. Dustin's Simonovic,
sweet Dustin, congratulations. Some nightshift t shirts we need, like
those graphics with like like Nick andAli. It says the night shift like
a cartoon like kind of thing.Things designed for the Daniel Grand and Phil
(04:35):
Ones remember those. Yeah, Idon't know what they're called but yeah,
kind of like whatever, they're badass, but but yeah, a good night
shift. Let's go. This episodeof the Poker Real podcast is brought to

rules for official terms. WSOP mainevent down to eighteen players. Everyone is
guaranteed three hundred and fifty thousand dollars. But they're gonna come back and they
immediately have a six figure pay jump, the first six figure pay jump of
(06:25):
the tournament, because seventeenth place fourhundred and fifty thousand dollars wowsers a lot
of money. There's a lot ofmoney. They came back today with fifty
nine players. Our guy Stevensong wasnot able to spin it up Team DPMC,
(06:46):
but he didn't get us the fieldbonus. So I'm not going to
complain at all. I'm not gonnasay win some other events that is very
true. That is very true.I heard he hopped into I think the
ten K six Max. But Stevensongwent out in fifty seventh place. He
jammed all in with Ace nine.He ran into Ace Queen. Believe it
was Jonathan Tomayo who had the AceQueen and that was all she wrote for
(07:09):
Stephen Song. Now we also lostAlex Keating in fifty fifth place. We
lost Jesse Capps, the fun JesseCapps in fifty first place. Now in
forty eighth place, we lost KevinDavis, who came into the day as
the chip leader. So I'm abit puzzled as to what the heck happened?
(07:33):
Is the lost is the hand inthe blog? I hope? So
yeah, but I know that that'sa from type of C. So maybe
not is what you're gonna say.Yeah, the Table Sea stuff is just
I mean, if I were tograde it, I would give it a
C. I mean, had someonetell me that the coverage was fantastic,
and all I could picture was yourface getting upset the stuff that we would
(07:56):
like to add to it to makeeven better. Yeah, I mean,
it's oh, Kevin Davis here,so he so he wasn't eliminated on the
kings versus Ace's hand. Hes likeleft with the couple big bonds. Maybe.
So here's what happened over on TableC, which is essentially the third
feature table. We have three featuretables. You have the main one up
(08:18):
on the main set. You havethe secondary one, which you know is
one of the there's two outer ones. The secondary one has it has card
graphics, and then there's a thirdone that we cut over to every once
in a while, but it doesn'thave actual card graphics. So really the
only time that you see the cardsis when there's an all on a call.
This happened to be one of them. So Kevin Davis, who started
(08:39):
the day as the chip leader, six time WSB circuit ring winner Kevin Davis
out of Kentucky, he battled withGerardo Hernandez, who is actually the Mexican
player that Ali made the cherill commentabout later on in the broadcast. They're
playing one twenty five, two hundredand fifty thousand. Davis makes it six
hundred thousand from under the Hernandez threebets to two million in the cutoff seat.
(09:03):
Davis comes back with a four betto six point one million, Hernandez
jams for nineteen point six million. At the time, Davis had a little
bit more, not too much more. I think he came into the day
with a little bit over twenty sixmaybe twenty seven million, but he had
a little bit over twenty million. He snaps off the jam from Hernandez with
(09:24):
two kings, only to see thatHernandez has the rockets. Baby. Nothing
comes for Davis on the flop andhe's left with fewer than five hundred thousand
chips, and then he was eliminatedshortly thereafter. So I mean, just
a bit of unfortunate on Day sevenfour. Kevin Davis, You know,
(09:46):
you can't really say that he blewup like some of the some of the
Day seven chip leaders that we've seenkind of blow up or punt their sacks
in the past. Didn't really wouldn'twouldn't certainly wouldn't call it a meltdown.
I mean, you have kings,Dasis, I mean, what are you
going to do. It's just abrutal spot a cooler, and Kevin Days
was eventually out the door in fortyeighth place. Who else did we lose
(10:09):
after that? That's of note.We lost Russell Rosenbloom in forty sixth place.
So I saw a statistic on Twitter, mister statman. Oh, people
were questioning if he's the only playerto I think it was make the final
table in like the two thousands ofthe WSP MADEVN when did he make the
(10:31):
found table? Look this up?But it was but it was make the
final table in like some year andthen finished top fifty like later on something
like that. Two thousand and twohe finished sixth and yeah, six yeah,
and then he came forty six fortysix this year. So basically they're
just, you know, they're saying, like, listen, very good you
(10:52):
know, two runs like this forRussell Rosenbloom, which it was a very
good run. So someone's saying itwas said again what they said they said,
like, is there anyone else whodid he also make? Did he
make the found table twice? Twothousand and nine and then two thousand and
yeah, twenty one, I wouldI would have to look up. It
(11:13):
was like a random account that saidit, or maybe Greg Ramer said it.
There It is. This is likewhen Sports Center says Lebron James is
the first thirty eight year old justscored twelve points, fourteen rebounds and six
blocks on January fifth, nine, twenty twenty four. It's one of those
things. It's like if you hadto manipulate the stats of the okay,
how you qualify? Here's what Ifound it on social Greg Ramer. Greg
(11:33):
Ramer said, no, he didn'tactually come. He didn't actually come with
a stat that's water. How didit explode? Okay? He said,
a huge congratulation, congratulate, congratudolences, congratulate adolences. I can't even say
graduate. Yeah. Whatever. ToRussell Rosenboom on his forty six place finished
(11:54):
in the dest Be Maine event.Although he made the final table and finished
sixth in twenty two, he actuallybeat a much higher percentage of the field
this time. See you next yearwhen we both make the final table and
then at heads Exploding responded and said, has any other poker player final table
(12:18):
the main event in the two thousandsand finished in the top fifty in the
twenty twenties? As anyone responded, there's one response, and it was Andy
Block who said, I believe youare correct, but he asked a question,
So that's not really I'm going inanswer you're going in here, I'm
(12:39):
going in. I'm just gonna doublecheck Jock codd a right, without even
doing any research, I'm pretty sure. But the in the twenty twenties,
twenty twenty one, didn't he finish? I don't. I don't remember if
it was like twenty nineteen or whatwasn't twenty nineteen. I can't remember the
eighteen fifth. Yeah, so thatdoesn't count, damn it. See so
it's closed, but it doesn't count. But I mean it's still like I
(13:03):
think that would twenty eighteen is closerto the twenty twenties than it is to
like two thousand and five, right, I mean it's just a different era
of poker for sure. Yeah, you know so so yeah, I can
definitely find it definitely financeer this,Yeah, I mean I think you could
for sure. It's top twenty tofifty. I was looking just file tables,
(13:26):
top fifty. Yeah, no,he says, top fifty. Has
any other poker table poker player, excuse me? Final table the main event
in the two thousands, and finishedin the top fifty in the twenty twenties.
An incredibly impressive performance by Russ RoseRosenboom. I mean, listen,
very very good performance. From RussellRosenbum and great to pair those two things
(13:50):
back to back. I mean, one of the players, Jason Segel finished
twenty third in two thousand and four. He's still in in the final eighteen,
so I mean that's pretty incredible ifyou ask me. I mean,
how about Brian Kim as well twentytwenty two finished twenty third. I believe
it was, and he's still in. I mean that's pretty wild, right.
I know it's not final table, but a final table in twenty twenty
(14:13):
in two thousand and two versus atop twenty five finish or a final three
table finish in two thousand and twentytwo. It's kind of comparable, right,
I mean, just given the waythat the fields are, the difficulty
in poker and all that sort ofstuff. All right, So Kevin Davis
forty eighth, Russell Rosenbloom forty six. Then we lost bracelet winner Nick Chivkov
(14:37):
and forty third, Brandon Cantu,Philamy's best friend out in thirty ninth,
Alex Shilkoh in thirty six place. So Sheilkoh won the PSPC. I don't
remember if it was the last oneor the one before that. You can
possibly look that up. I don'tknow what you're doing. We don't need
(14:58):
to do that right now, Comeon, stay on top of that.
I already found it. Well,we need to find Alexander Schilko. He
won the PSBC in twenty twenty threefor three point one two million buckeroos,
had a deep run here in thisevent, thirty sixth place for two hundred
and fifty thousand dollars. I playedwith him last year or maybe the year
before, for almost a full day. Very very tough player, very very
(15:24):
tough player. What am I lookingfor? Nothing? I already figured it
out. Arthur Morris Poker podcast proArthur Morris finally had his rock luck excuse
me run out in thirty fourth place. He took three hundred thousand dollars home
for his finish. You know hewas, I believe it was pretty grateful,
(15:46):
appreciative of the opportunity. After hebusted out, he did speak with
Jeff Platt, So let's play thatinterview for you right now. What a
run in the main for Arthur Morris. What's it like to go through the
ups and the downs this tournament?Man, it's just the most incredible tournament
in the world. There's moments whereyou feel total euphoria, you feel invincible,
(16:07):
and then there's moments where you're backat two big lines, you know,
praying, trying to figure out howmany hands you have before you're blinded
out. I mean, I wasunder two bigs on four different occasions.
To get this far. Took anincredible amount of good fortune and you know,
a will power. I guess it'slike a test of endurance. It's
an awesome tournament. I heard youtell somebody, how could I be unhappy
with this run? Is that agood way to sum it up for you?
(16:30):
Yeah? I mean, like,I don't think I made a critical
mistake, which I just wanted tocome out and play as well as I
think I'm capable of playing. Andyou know, Brian opened, I had
ten bigs with tens and like Ifound a spot, and you know,
he's a friend, and I'm glad. I'm glought it was him. I
he was gonna lose, and I'mkind of proud of myself. I feel
like I put I'll good fight out, all right. That was Arthur Morris,
(16:52):
three hundred k in the bank forhim just skipping the rest of the
series. Really, I mean yeah, I don't know how you can make
day seven and the maniment knock on, I'd be like, I'm out of
here, see you guys the flater. Who else we got? Mentioned
(17:14):
canto? Right? I did mentionKantuo? So who's that my arrest?
Yeah, well I haven't got thereyet. Shunden Chiao one of two women
remaining. She ultimately goes out intwenty eighth place. She made a i'll
say ambitious play with two tens againstI forget who it was who had ace
(17:40):
deuce and flopped two pair. Ithink it was Ace four duce or Ace
three duce, one of those, but Xiao lost a chunk of chips there.
She ultimately goes out I don't knowan hour or so later. She
finished in twenty eighth place for threehundre k. But listen in extremely impressive
showing from her. She hasn't beenaround poker for too long, but everything
(18:03):
that I've seen shows me that shemight be around for quite a bit of
time, you know, just readingthrough her bio. She is a software
engineer by trade. She has aresume that includes working for I believe it
was Google, Amazon, and LinkedIn. I mean, those are some heavy
hitter companies, and when you havethose companies on your resume alongside software engineer,
(18:25):
tells me you're probably pretty successful. So that combined with the fact that
she cashed for three hundred k inthis event, you know, I think
she's probably going to have a decentsized bankroll to be able to continue forging
forward in poker. And that's great. You know, I thought she played
really well. Shout out to ShundanChiao. I'm sure this won't be the
(18:45):
last time we hear from her.Orson young popular player pro been around a
long time, finished in twenty sixthplace, and then Brian Rast the poker
legend, he goes out in twentyfourth place. Rass never really seemed to
like like play like massive pots oranything. It was always kind of just
(19:07):
like steady, kind of chipping awayat stuff, you know, not getting
too like like like some of thesepeople, like I mean Arthur Morris.
Going back to him, right,it wasn't until I think day five that
he at least he said he hadn'tgotten his money in and was like all
in and at risk until day five. But then after that, I mean
Arthur Morris, because he got shortin a couple of spots that he was
(19:30):
all in a lot, right, and he survived a bunch, But Brian
Rass, like I really don't thinkwas all in at all until his final
hand and then ultimately, you know, busts out. But listen, he
did an interview a bust out aninterview with Jeff Platt, and you could
feel it, man, because youjust got the sense, you know,
(19:51):
the energy that that I know,Brian Rass has had an incredibly successful career.
He's got sixsop goal right, sohe's got god knows how much money
in UH tournament winnings. Obviously ahigh stakes crusher. He was inducted into
the Hall of Fame last year.Like, I mean, he's he's got
everything as a poker player, right, but you're still so close, yeah,
(20:12):
to poker's pinnacle, that being thewast main event, final table and
then ultimately the winner circle in thegreatest tournament in the world. And you
could tell that he felt it,you know, even though that he's seen
almost everything in this game, probablyhas seen everything in this game, right,
So yeah, I mean he said, you know, even though like
(20:33):
someone like him, you know, you come into this event, you sign
up every single year you play,You're gonna play it next year and every
other year that you can, youknow, but it still feels impossible that
you're gonna make it this far, you're gonna make it to the final table.
But you make it to day seven. You know, you're looking around,
there's three tables left. You're like, I can, like I can,
(20:56):
I can touch it, Like it'sthere, Like you know, I
just got to do a couple thingsright, A couple things break my way,
and like boom, I'm in thefinal nine and we're dancing right.
Ultimately, Brian Rask goes out intwenty fourth place. The Poker Hall of
Famer takes home three hundred and fiftythousand dollars. And we'll play that interview
for you right now. And thishas been one up and down tournament for
(21:18):
you. What's it been like tobattle through the swings of the main event.
I mean, man, it's beenan incredible journey. Like I thought
the PPC was a grueling tournament likefive days like this, but like here
we are on day seven. Iam fucking exhausted right now. And I
(21:41):
mean, like I just have suchlike mixed emotions because it's like feels impossible
to go this far in this tournament, and I'm like, like I'm never
gonna do this again, you know, like seven days. But at the
same time, I'm just like itsucks, but like I'm really kind of
(22:03):
grateful, Like this was a coolexperience. I want some money, I
got to have a lot of funplaying. It just hurts. And finally
you said it was impossible. Butwith that said, was there a point
in this journey where you allow yourselfto think I could really win this thing?
Man? I know that was thatjust wasn't the way I was letting
(22:26):
my mind operate this. I justthink like when you start attaching to specially
future outcomes, but like even justwhat happened in the past while you're still
playing, it's just a recipe forsuboptimal performance. So I was just trying
to go into every day going likeI'm just gonna try to play one handed
poker at a time and get throughthe day and we see what happens,
(22:49):
you know, the next day,and just like kind of break break it
down and compartmentalize it like that, because I think there's just no other way
to approach this. Like if youstart thinking like, oh, what if
I win and this, like,I don't think like anybody's mind is gonna
let them handle that and perform wellat the table, right because it's just
too much like ten million dollars likemain event champion banner on the thing,
(23:11):
like you're like you're gonna think aboutthat and like play good poker at the
table. There's just no way.So again, I think you could really
feel it, you know, throughthe interview, through his emotion, what
he felt there. And I thinkhe even put on Twitter not too long
ago basically like he's gonna go getwasted or something like you know, what
(23:32):
do you do right now? I'mgonna go get wasted. I mean,
don't blame you, Brian great run. So twenty second place a player probably
not a lot of people know about, but Luis Vasquez out of the Northeast
has been playing poker since like twothousand and seven, two thousand and eight,
something like that. Good friends witha good friend of mine, Ronnie
Barta. So you know, Iwas introduced to Luis a while ago.
(23:53):
I've you know, known him, like don't don't know him super well,
but know him. But the reasonwhy I bring this one is because what
ultimately led to Vasquez's demise. Intwenty second place was a massive pot with
Brian Kim where it went raised fromHernandez from I think either the hijack or
(24:15):
maybe the lowjack, but a raiseBrian Kim three bets on the button.
Luis Vasquez puts in the cold fourbet out of the big blind, folds
the back over to Hernandez. Hegets out of the way. Brian Kim
moves all in for around twenty millionor so, maybe maybe a little bit
less, maybe nineteen and change.I forget exactly. This was the last
(24:37):
hand before break and Vasquez goes intothe tank forever like just tank tank tank,
tank tank, you know. Heasked the dealer to like pull on
the four bet amount. He askedfor an exact count and the extra chips.
He's got the he's got the amount, like kind of pulled to the
side. He's going back and forth. He's trying to study Brian Kim.
It's a whole thing. It's goingon for or you know, several minutes.
(25:02):
Eventually he makes the call with twoqueens. He's up against the ast
king for Brian Kim. King hitsthe flop and a forty million chip pot
is sent over to Brian Kim,who two years ago took twenty third in
this very event, Luis Vasquez wasleft with I think two maybe three big
blinds busted to I believe it wasMora the Brazilian not too long after,
(25:29):
so Luis Vasquez taking three hundred andfifty thousand dollars for his twenty second place
finish. After Vasquez went out,you had Kayasuki Nagami out of Japan finishing
in twenty first. You had YaquiWu finishing in twentieth place, and then
you had Charles Russell busting in nineteenth. And Russell was the final player to
(25:55):
go on the day before the finaleighteen bagged and tagged. But we do
have to rewind a little bit becauseafter dinner it was the Kristen Foxton Show.
I mean it was just NonStop. So she came into the day with
I think fourteen million chips. Yeah, I think that's it about and she
(26:19):
immediately like started losing, like thingsjust weren't going her way. She was
losing pots, you know, everytime she kind of tried to enter her
pot just wasn't going her way.Next thing, you know, she's just
below seven and a half million.Day goes on, she kind of chips
back up, but then she getschipped. She chips back down, like
you know, she could never reallylike truly find the momentum. And then
(26:40):
you have the fact that there's obviouslythe whole a woman making the final table
and that hasn't happened in so long, and are we finally gonna get it?
And we got two chances, andit looks like things are going well
because they got chips. Shundan Jiao. She came into the day second in
chips, behind Kevin Davis. Obviously, Kevin Davis goes out very early on
the day. Shi Ou lasts abit longer, but she's ultimately out the
(27:03):
door. So now, if you'reout there rooting for a woman to make
a final table, it's down toChris and Foxing. Now, listen,
that's a good person for it tobe down to, because she can carry
the load. She's pretty damn goodat poker, right, But poker can
be crazy, Variants can bite youin the ass, and things weren't just
weren't going her way. Go todinner, come back, she gets a
double up, She gets it allin with East five versus Queen's we got
(27:26):
to wait till a river, BarryGreenstein, Let's go ace on the river.
Three outs, and missus Fox sinner. It is the age. Oh
my god, it is the A'sgoing Chrissy, sit, sit right back
down that then stack that six pointthree, oh bye, and then she's
(27:52):
just boom boom boom like woo.In every pot that she played, she
pulled a great bluff with two nines, getting jacks to fold on board that
had a four flush, even thoughneither player had the spade that would have
made the flush. I mean, she was just cruising. She ultimately finishes
the day on more than forty sevenmillion. I think she's fifth in chips.
(28:15):
It's the Kristen Foxen Show, andwe're all just here. I think
everyone's here for it. I mean, how can you not be here for
the Kristen Foxon Show. Actually, before I get to the interview, because
we have an interview with Kristen Foxen, but Alex was on the rail Alex
Fox and her husband for quite abit of time. So I think she
said on stream earlier in the daythat you know, he was playing like
whatever he was playing. Maybe thethree K, maybe the ten K,
(28:36):
six max whatever it might have been, maybe even the fifty K. I
don't know who he was playing.I doubt he was playing the tripletop.
I mean on a normal day maybe, but you know, when you know
Kristen's going deep, he's probably like, yeah, I'll skip that one.
But he ended up popping up onthe rail, so he either bagged in
something or he probably busted out.I think it was the latter, unfortunately,
(28:57):
but fortunately for the fox and family, Kristen is still in the main
event and he was on the rail, and it was It was interesting because
you know, she was all ina couple times. She got all in
with the ace five versus the queens. She got all in with kings versus
sevens. Both times she was theplayer at risk being the shorter stack,
and like she couldn't even watch, like back turned to the table, just
(29:18):
like basically staring at Alex saying like, hey, tell me what's happening.
You know, she did double upboth times. Obviously, there's a lot
of people in the poker world rootingfor her because of what it would mean.
First and foremost, Kristin Foxen isa crusher and absolutely deserves to make
this final table. You know, she's put in the time, she's put
in the effort, she has theexperience, she has the resume, all
(29:41):
of that sort of stuff, andthen on top of that, there's the
whole woman back at a final tablestoryline that is that is very very much
like I wouldn't even say it's lurking. It's here. I mean, she's
in the final eighteen, she's gota good stack. It's here, right,
So there's all that that's happening. And yeah, afterwards after play,
after she bagged up the forty sevenpoint four million, fifth largest stack of
(30:04):
the final eighteen players, I spokewith Kristin fox and so here's that interview
for you. Now, all right, Kristin Foxen, pretty crazy surge at
the end of the nights. Soyou've played a lot of poker over the
years, right when you're rushing likethat, Like, what's it feel like?
I mean, it was just crazy. The The key thing for me
(30:30):
today was just like stay super calmas much as I can and just like,
you know, figure out each spotI have. Honestly, like the
most the toughest parts of the daywere like the ace King fold versus the
Ace queen and then seeing that thisguy three met me with Jack six suited
when I opened ACE nine like ina spot that's kind of ridiculous and like
(30:52):
never should really happen. And thenit was at hand and that was,
yeah, super frustrating, and obviouslythey get down to like five big lines
sucks. And then yeah, itjust felt incredible to like get some momentum.
And after I won the five suitedall in was what was that?
Like, I mean, yeah, last cart honestly, like it's just so
(31:17):
surreal, Like it's all starting tofeel very surreal and dream like and like
I'm just trying to stay super lockedinto like the poker moment, and I
think it's like this is just sucha fun spot because you can really see
everybody's emotions heightening, even like youknow, some of the pros who probably
are like pretty calm, but especiallylike the not as experienced players like you
(31:40):
can it's just a fun spot.I love playing with all the pressure.
When you had the nines and yeah, Igora ended up folding, you kind
of let out like a big sigh. I mean, are you are you
not worried about like showing emotion likeI mean it looked like in a way
like it's got a bluffer. Yeah, I mean, he's gonna see it
anyway. And I think it wasjust kind of like the excitement of getting
(32:04):
a stack back. It was justyou know, because I was like,
man, if I get chips back, like, I feel so good in
this tournament. So it just feltreally yeah, I was, you know,
and it's the main event. Everyone'sshowing emotions, and I think,
like, let's just embrace that.I don't think it's an issue. And
then last question here, how doyou not get scared of the moment.
It's obviously massive, the money's nowextremely meaningful. You how do you just
(32:28):
stay grounded through it all? Honestly, I'm just reminding myself, like the
thing to focus on is like howmany big blinds do I have? What
do I do in this spot inany other tournament? Because that's all this
is at the end of the day, is another tournament. So that's kind
of like just going back to likefundamentals of like, Okay, I've played
this spot a million times? Whatdo I do here? All? Right?
(32:49):
That was Kristen Fox, And whileI was doing that, I got
tim over here went out and talkedto the husband. I did, how'd
that go? It was good?I uh, I like a pretty calm
man, very chilled, very wasave. And you'll probably hear in his
responses in the interview, but youcould just physically see I felt like he
was like nervous or jittery, likethere was a little bit more maybe,
(33:15):
and so the heart ray was upmore than normal and very obviously understandable why
he'd be feeling like that with, you know, his wife, Chrissy in
a pretty great position heading into dayeight of the main event. Standing here
with Alex Fox and his wife justmade the final eighteen of the WSP Main
Event. I want to know, from your perspective, what's it like being
(33:37):
on the rail watching her, supportingher, not just any tournament, like
probably the biggest tournament in the world. Yeah, it's it's a fucking awesome
experience. Honestly, part of mylanguage, but it's it's it's so much
fun. It's weird to be onthis side, honestly, Like railing is
a strange experience when I'm so likeemotionally invested because it's not just the money.
(33:59):
It's like I wanted it well andI want to see her wins,
so like there's more than just thatto it, whereas normally, like sweating
anything is just that. And likewhen I'm playing for myself, you know,
like when I'm out there, it'sjust like nothing's in my mind other
than the hands and then you know, but like I'm on the rail and
just like you know, trying tofigure out what she has, if she's
strong or it's just it's a verydifferent emotional experience. It's you feel,
(34:19):
like, do you feel like you'remore nervous being on the rail than if
you actually in how city right now? Definitely? I Mean I I don't
really feel much when I'm playing, but like I've you know, have like
a pit in my stomach every timeshe opens a pot, like not a
way of like obviously I trust there'shall of her decisions, but it's just,
you know, it's so much morenerve wracking on the rail being a
hook a pal couple. Maybe,as you might call it, tonight,
(34:42):
you're gonna go home obviously it's prettylate already, two I am. Yeah,
what do you guys do to preparefor the next day? We breaking
down some hands? Are we justtrying to get a sleep and we do
it in the morning. Yeah,I mean, there's probably not time for
anything in the morning, so I'llprobably watch the like she might, you
know, have a bath, getready for bed, and I'll watch the
stream and relay anything worthwhile. That'skind of we've been doing the last couple
of nights where I've watched most ofthe stream while she's playing, and then
(35:02):
kind of like note hands and thingsthat I see, and then we talk
about it a little bit before bedand in the morning and yeah, so
there, so we might go backand watch a little bit. It kind
of depends on how easily how easilyshe thinks she'll be able to fall asleep,
you know, like she can't sleep, that's a pretty good opportunity to
watch a little bit and talk aboutit. But yeah, no, I
mean she's just super well prepared forthis from you know, playing everything,
(35:23):
and just yeah, I got tokeep the A lot of the focus is
just just keep the the energy likepositive and calm and focus on making the
right decisions and treat it kind ofjust like any other tournament as much as
you can. It's interesting because Imean, I know, you you know,
knowing your family, myself as well, like, you know, our
(35:45):
significant others aren't in the same industry, so you you know, you wouldn't
have this sort of thing. Iguess you can root them on in whatever
industry they're in, right, Butit's it obviously must feel like a closer
attachment, you know, when you'realso in that industry and you know you're
so you're not only are in it, you're you're so deep in it,
(36:05):
like both the Foxes are, right, so it must just be crazy.
And then I'm also sure it's youknow, it's like when you watch your
kids or whatever, when you you'realmost more nervous for them. Yeah,
in a lot of ways, right, I'm sure Alex is like in a
way he obviously he's he's rooting forher of course, and supportive and he
wants her to crush and everything, but like he almost wants to be like
I wish I could take her seat. Not not because I don't mean that,
(36:29):
because like he wishes he could takeher seat, And I'm probably putting
words in his mouth, so I'mprobably just being an idiot, But you
almost wish that you could just like, okay, not take the seat.
But how about this take the pressureoff of them. That's what you wish,
right, you don't. You don'twant them to stress out. You
want you to stress out, likeyou want to take all the tough stuff
off of that person and let themjust be free in the moment. So
(36:51):
that that's probably there's probably some ofthat there as well. And that's where
like that kind of you know, that nervousness that I think you can kind
of get from what Alex was saying, and that you know, end of
the day, that's great. That'slove and that's what it's about. And
it's pretty crazy that you know,it could happen to a lot of poker
couples. There are poker couples outthere, But are there any poker couples
(37:14):
bigger than the Fox's. I mean, I would say probably the Gaphons bigger
in well why like more known. No, I don't think the Gaphons,
Like it could happen to just likeyou know, to a husband and a
wife, but it's not. It'snot the it's and they're both poker players,
but this is the Fox. Theonly couple I would say would be
the Negranus and man is not apoker players. But that's what I mean.
(37:37):
Like not like I'm talking poker playerwise. I mean the closest one
I think is probably phil and fairGalfon because she plays a bit right,
so that that could be something. So you know, this is Poker's aless
couple and it's front center. Imean, it's it's the headlining story as
(37:58):
far as I'm concerned. You know, obviously Christen's run is incredible, so
you know, let's see if shecan make it. Let's see if she
can close it out. The minimumis so interesting because you come so far.
You know, ten and twelve playersstarted this thing. We're down to
(38:20):
eighteen. We still have so muchto go to get to a champion.
Like if you just if you thinkabout it in hours that it's gonna take.
I mean, what do you think, how long is it gonna take
from here to get to a winter? How many hours of play? Tomorrow's
gonna be white six eighteen hours, like six hours a day, because we
have three days left. I thinktomorrow could be no, yeah, six
(38:45):
hours tomorrow is gonna be I meanon average, because like if tomorrow is
short, okay, well with thefinal tables, we know those cools forever
sixt sixty six basically will go off. Yeah, so we still have eighteen
hours of play three days. Imean it's like it's a lot can happen
in that in that time. Youknow, things can come crumbling down if
you're short stacked and you're kind oflimping through today eight like things can just
(39:07):
spin up the other way. You'vegot Boris Angelov and Jordan griff both on
eight point three million in chips comingback to I believe they're still going to
be playing four hundred thousand and eighthundred thousand, so just over ten big
linds for each of them. Butyou can spin it up. We saw
Kristen foxon Spin it Up today, right, you know it can happen.
(39:29):
So yeah, why don't you goover the leaderboard? Who do we got?
You mean the chip counts? Ohyeah, the leaderboard? Who's who's
leading the way? Maloy? Howdo we say letting out? Let her
know us Latino wall. That's howI would say it, Although it's has
to be that commeddation from Texas.I don't believe he is a chip lay
at a sixty one point three millionDiogo Coela from Portugal fifty one point five
(39:52):
Canada's adjacent Sego fifty one point four. Nicholas hous to that Sego quickly is
the one who finished into the andfour in twenty third place for one hundred
and twenty thousand dollars, so anotherdeep run for him. Nicholas fifty million.
Even you mentioned Chrissy forty seven pointfour, that is the top five,
(40:12):
Joe Sirok forty six point three,Malcolm Frenzi forty five, nine Canadian
Jason James forty five point eight,Brian Kim forty two point four. Now
here is a big drop off. That's basically the top nine players the bottom
nine players. We start with twentyseven zero point six million, so it's
basically fifteen million less than Brian Kimin ninth place. But Jesse Bryant,
(40:34):
Gabriel Mura, Gleamo Sanchez, Otero, Jaego, Moroles, Jonathan Tomayo,
the've all got those mid twenties.Jonathan he drops down at eighteen point four,
Andres Gonzalez fourteen point nine, GeraldoHernandez thirteen point four, and then
Jordan Griff Baris Angelo. They roundout the foun table eight point three million
each. That is the final eighteenw it really is interesting to see that
(41:00):
gap. You know, we haveBrian Kim is that ninth place person forty
two point four million, and thenthe tenth place person is twenty seven point
six So that's like the clear divide. And then of course you have the
two shorter stacks, which given thefact that we're going to be on a
one hundred thousand dollars pay jump tostart the day, eighteenth place three hundred
(41:22):
and fifty thousand dollars, seventeenth placefour hundred and fifty thousand, four hundred
dollars, so could create some interestingICM dynamics there. And then of course,
you know throughout the day, youknow, we're starting to get into
the point where the payout or sorry, the pay jumps become more often.
So three point fifty right now, three hundred ten thousand is what the players
(41:46):
are guaranteed with eighteen left, seventfourteenth through seventeenth place four hundred and fifty
thousand, four hundred dollars, thentwelfth and thirteenth six hundred k, tenth
and eleventh eight hundred k, andthen of course ninth is one million dollars,
and of course ninth is not onlya million dollars. Yes, that's
awesome, but it's also making thews AB Maine Event Final Table, getting
(42:08):
the day off, coming back frontand center, the biggest stage in poker,
like all of that sort of stuffcoming together. So a bunch of
pay jumps are going to be happeningtomorrow, Sunday, July fourteenth. The
eighteen players are going to play downto nine. It doesn't matter how long
it takes them. It doesn't matterif it takes twenty seven hours, doesn't
(42:29):
matter if it takes two hours. We're getting to nine. They're going to
combine at ten, right they stillwe still combined in at ten. I
don't like that, but we're goingto combine at ten. I like it.
I know you like it because you'rea knit and like ten handed poker.
No incorrect. I don't like itfor the main and it's like,
don't make it, don't I don'tmask. Don't mask your knittiness with some
(42:50):
other reason. But for the mainevent, I like the ten handed.
For every other one I want Idon't want it. I want to Why
do you like the ten handed becauseyou're in the history. I like the
history of the ten handed, thehistory. What does the history matter.
I like it that way, Butwhat does the history matter? It might
have no idea how many players areat the table in nineteen seventy three,
mister history, you literally have noidea. It could have been twelve,
(43:15):
that'd been awesome. You have noidea. I mean, you have no
idea what was happening. But thehistory of the modern era, the era
that we have been around for.I like ten in the modern era,
where no one plays ten handed poker, it's the silliest thing in the world.
Should not be playing ten. Weshould be five and five and that's
how it should work. And boththe tables should be up in the middle
(43:38):
of the main set. We shouldfigure that out. We should figure that
out. They should both be upthere. From the guy did he yesterday
said, I don't understand how quetproduction works. Look, this is very
obviously you don't understand that production works. How are you gonna why the graphics?
If you want to spend the money, you will get it. The
way to spend the money, youwill get it. To the tables is
fine? Table a table like wehave? Nope, nope, nope.
(44:02):
So yeah, they're gonna get downto ten hands. They're going to join
at one table and they're gonna gofrom there. Two hundred thousand dollars pay
jump at that point. All right, so what are the top three storylines
for you, sir? Let's uh, let's throw out Kristen Foxing because she's
obviously the snap number one pick.So let's let's find let's it's not that
(44:24):
we're gonna throw her out, We'regonna pick. We're just gonna focus on
the two other. Okay, well, obviously number one is Kristen fox I'm
gonna go with Gabrielle Mora being thevillain. I knew you were gonna do
this. I mean, he isthe villain. I mean, I can
(44:45):
give you the I'm just trying tojust trying to mix up a little bit.
He is the villain, for sure. We need a villain. You
need a villain, You need avillain. I mean, Chrissy is the
hero, yes, you know, yes, and then I think to a
different degree, yeah, but helisten, he's just not the hero right
(45:07):
now? What's that Batman quote? The hero we deserve, but the hero
we need? The faous Batman line. You know what I'm talking about.
Have you seen you? Please tellme you've seen Batman, right, I've
seen pretty much all the Batman Okay, but yeah, but Gabriel Murrow with
his his constant tanking, you know, the kind of weird, kind of
(45:30):
pump faky type of things with hischips. He talks to you like,
which is you know that might rubpeople the wrong way. He also does
a lot of yelling and screaming. You know when he wins bake hands huh
U must have portantly he's barefoot,He's walking around barefoot. That's and other
things. I just feel like thereason why we're saying that he's a villain
(45:53):
is because we feel like if ifhe makes the final table, like the
public is gonna view him as thevillain, that that's our view just with
the way that he acts like heit was very interesting that he he's a
very methodical player, plays pretty slowwith everything. And then he complained that
(46:15):
the all ins took long because productiondoes them a certain way for the dramatic
effect. I mean that just seemedlike very long. Does he take each
on each street forever? So soyeah, I just thought that that was
interesting. But yeah, it's gonnabe it's listen if he makes it and
he continues to play that he's playing, and listen, it's also not just
(46:37):
him. There's some others that aredoing the same sort of thing. The
number one topic on social media isgonna be clocks. We need clocks in
the Mallion event. We need clocks. That's gonna be the number one thing,
right we do. Leena nine hundred. He's over there playing hands in
three seconds. Incredible stuff, youknow, because he's probably seen ten billion
(46:59):
hands of pokes and knows everything's happening. Sposed to play. He's out there
to play. So that's your story, the villains one of them. I
can give you seven stories. Isaid top one Christmas Box, and you
come with Gabrielle Mora. I can'tdecide anything that happens all day, or
do you just show up on thepodcast and like spitting at three thirteen am
(47:23):
to three thirteen yeah, ship, speed it up, kid, Oh my
god. My other story is JasonSegel and Brian Kim and their return.
That's the answer. I told youtop headlines. Okay. When I say
top it doesn't mean go digging forthe things that no one cares about.
(47:45):
It means pick the top most popularone. To me, it's chalky.
No, you're just trying to playa bit. Okay, is what you
Your whole summer has been a bit. Your whole summer has been a bit
from the start. How the wholething, the thing with Sean deeb Dylan
Wiseman, like, it's the wholesummer's been a bit. Okay, summer
(48:06):
bits, got it? No,you're a bit. I'm a bit.
Maybe you're a knit bit bit.You are a nit bit, Tim the
nitbit Duckworth. Yes, I thinkI have to go. I mean this
is like kind of a combination oneas well. But no, Actually,
Nicholas A. Stet Leana nine hundred, I mean that's the story. I
mean, he's he's the goat. He's the freaking MJ of tournament poker in
(48:30):
a lot of ways, even eventhough you don't think he is. It's
Kristen Fox and is the leading story, the leading lady. I like the
Jason Sego and Brian Kim return alsoBrian Kim. You know you can kind
of loop him in with the NicholasOstet thing where he's just incredibly good at
poker. Yeah, but then youhave Nicholas Ostet who's just the absolute crusher
(48:51):
that he is, and he's possiblygonna break through on the biggest stage.
Another one, little honorable mention hereJoe sah Rock and Jonathan Tamile, long
time professionals, longtime grinders, finallygetting their shot right. So there's that.
We also have a pretty international field, which I like to see.
You got Boris Angelov out of Bulgaria, You got Gerardo Hernandez out of Mexico,
(49:14):
Andres Gonzalez is Spain. You gotGuillermo Otero is Li says uk.
I hope that's right. Jason JamesCanada, Jason Sego Canada, Christen Fox
and is Canada. Know she liveshere now, Diego Coelo, Portugal.
So and then I think Malo Latinoisis French. But Malcolm Franchie that is
(49:37):
French. Huh. Franchie is alsofrom France. Who's from Friends? Malcolm
Francie, Oh he is from Friends? Yeah, Sorry, sorry I skipped
that one. So yeah, youknow, pretty international group here, so
you know, hopefully we kind ofget that international group at the final table.
Are we gonna draft? Yeah?I mean we got to go number
(50:01):
one. I gotta pull up thelast one who cares, cares we're doing
a new draft. Okay, Ineed it right down. Go ahead,
you want me to go first.I mean, uh, we're of the
same number one. Well, actuallywe probably make the same. We might
(50:22):
have the same. You're gonna takeGabrielle Mora. He's definitely getting drops it.
I'm opening with Chrissy and Nicholas.Yeah you agree, Yes, I
have the same too. Okay,I told you that I wanted a final
table of the killer. You want. You want the killers. I don't
want the killer. I still wantthe killer completely different. I'm still gonna
(50:44):
keep Diego. He's staying on mylist. He's been on it now for
three days. This Jason Segal storyis kind of cool. I'm gonna I'm
gonna promote him. He's kind ofmy old guy too in a way.
So Jason the oldest one left.We would have to check, but we
have to check. Yeah, hemight be. I'm gonna bring in Brian
(51:05):
Kim. He's gonna get the upgrade. He's gonna make my squad. Brian
Kim and welcome to the team.I gotta do it. I gotta do
my boy, Laura. I meanhe's gonna be in mind too. Yeah.
Whatever, I mean because like wesaid, you gotta have the villain,
and he's the villain. He's avillain. And then for the rail
we need we need Yeager, right, I mean, yeah, rails bananas,
(51:29):
he's there? How many is that? One? Two, three,
four, five, six seven?Let's to rock like Spain? Is Spain
gonna be any good? Is Spaingonna be they they gotta bring just dump
it on the whole country of Spain. Are they gonna bring them? Going
to be any good? To therail? I want to know what's the
rail passion? Probably not no,because I feel like you would have seen
(51:52):
the passion already. Jason. Youknow what, Jason James and he's interview
with Jeff had a little bit ofvillainous to So if we lose more,
maybe Jason James can take your spot. Didn't he win the tag team?
He did? I thought that wasgoing to actually be one of your stories.
You got that in there too,and that is another thing. So
he's gonna make it. And thenI go one more spot you can go
(52:15):
to you know what this is?This is a pretty like behind inside Baseball
kind of thing. But let megive it to Jonathan Tomato only because we
have a mutual friend that has alittle piece of him, and it'd be
pretty cool, like kind of youknow, seeing how that plays out,
so that I don't care about anyof that when I stuck him ninth.
(52:37):
Ninth is just the weak spot.Huh, I'm ready. Nicholas Kristen,
Gabrielle Moro, Oh yes, BrianKim Yegor, I think Boris Angelov six,
Okay, shout stock but Joseph Rockseven, Diogo Coelo malo in wall
(53:00):
is that it great? Perfect?I'm in there so yeah, WSP main
event. We are rocking and rollinginto day eight, the added day eight,
by the way, love it lovethe added day. Did you factor
that in when you were like,we're on pace, we're off past type
of thing. Oh, what's thechop value? Oh? Yes, the
(53:20):
thing that matters eighteen white chopped value. Right. No, this has become
such a good thing that they putit on the broadcast. Now they put
the Yeah, I mean it's twomillion. I would never put it on
the broadcast. By the way,I'm not trying to promote chops to the
world. That's that we don't wantchops in poker. We want chops.
Huh. Well, Tonto chops,it's like kissing your sister. What we're
(53:45):
just not having chops, Like,we're out here to play. We're playing
for blood blood two million eleven dollars. I think Jesus truck now, let's
fucking do it. That's that thenthat's insane. In sixth place, yeah,
that's insane. Yeah, ten milliondollars up top six place is two
(54:07):
million dollars. So, as Timmentioned, the chop value right now is
better than six place money. Doit mars Angelo has already It would be
very hard, Yes, bosuck onthe client WSFV clib Well, they're never
just going to do a straight chop. You'd have to do like an ICM
chuck of course. Of course. All right, cool. So that's the
(54:30):
main event marching into Day eight,Sunday, July fourteenth. You guys can
watch it on PokerGO dot com.Two parter broken up by the dinner break.
Play will not stop until the finalnine is reached, Okay, so
don't miss it. It's one ofthe most exciting days in poker. Obviously,
(54:52):
it's super exciting when the w whomade him and kicks off. It's
super exciting when the money bubble breakson Bubble Day and then it's super We're
exciting when the final table is made, and that is going to happen on
Sunday. All right, sir, tell me what's happening. We're going quick.

John Raser already won a bracelet thisyear, shooting for his third overall.
ODB Baker congrats on sixth place.Jeremy Osmus, congrats seventh place in
(56:00):
that one fifty K Highroller. Ithink that seventh place finish for Jeremy Osmas
temporarily put him in the lead inthe Player of the yearies. But we
know that Scott sever made an onlinefinal table. Yeah. Still to come
are the changes, but at leastfor the time being, Jeremy Osmus should
have that top spot in the Poyrafifty K and no limit hold them hi
(56:22):
roller down to five. Christoph Voegelsang chip leader, followed by Jard Blesnik
and Jesse Lones, Nacho Barbero andJustin Saliba. At least five have locked
up basically five hundred K first pricea little bit over two million dollars in
that one three K in SATs Championshipthey combined today they now down one hundred
(56:43):
and forty seven players. Chip leaderis Michael McNeil. No, sorry,

off today Day one dy of theseven seven seven Lucky Sevens, that is
down to sixty nine players from nearlyfifteen hundred entrance. What yeah, jeez,
(57:06):
that's what the thing says. Thatseemed like a lot to me too.
Ten K six hundred Championship started withfour hundred and eighteen down to one
fifty two. Let me read youthe chip counts. The top five,
this event is always awesome. Chipleader is Patrick Yarras whatever. Seven?
