Changes visible at Iowa's largest airport. And why do we call it international? Executive director, Kevin Foley explains.

Iowa's largest airport, the Des Moines International Airport (DSM) has been hinting at changes for years, but those changes are finally taking effect. Kevin Foley, Executive Director explains what those changes are, outlines updated plans, and finally puts to rest jokes about the airport's name. He also tells why his wife was flagged by security for something in her bag! 

DSM used to be mildly irritating. Iowans would drive to Omaha, Minneapolis, or Kansas City for cheaper fairs and more direct flights. But things have changed. More airlines do business in Iowa, and we have more direct flights to major cities than ever before. In fact, the airport has become such a hot commodity it has begun its new expansion plans. Frequent flyers will have noticed a completely new entrance and some large structures being built near Fluer. What is that stuff?

Foley also explains his updated recommendations for how early we should arrive. We can finally kiss the ridiculous three-hour bye-bye!
