Dr. Valerie is a sought-after speaker and trainer at conferences and companies committed to setting new standards of excellence in diversity, equity, and inclusion, employee satisfaction and physical and mental health, and creativity and innovation. You can find Dr. Valerie on drvalerie.com.
Dr. Valerie shares that her one question that plagued her entire childhood, 'What is wrong with me?', ended up being the question that unlocked her pathway to deeper self-love and worthiness.
As someone that would seem to have it all; a thriving psychology practice, family, and wellbeing, Dr. Valerie found herself in the ER room with her left side completely numb only to find out her diagnosis was stress. She began to dig deeper and realized after learning about epigenetics that this stress was genetically passed down, just as trauma is genetically transmitted, through the thousands of years of patriarchal dominance. Throughout the centuries, it hadn't been safe for women to thrive and have their own money or be overly attractive. This trauma has a real impact, and Dr. Valerie started studying what she now calls it as Patriarchal Stress Disorder or PSD.
You can learn healing techniques in her book, although the most important one to know is that nothing is wrong with you and you are unconditionally worthy. You can get the first chapter of her book at drvalerie.com/resources.
