Welcome to today's podcast! We're exploring the wisdom of Charles Tarbey, who shares practical tips for escaping those dull meetings.
Charles recalls a painfully long meeting in which he accidentally spilt water, leading to everyone standing up—and voila! A quick wrap-up followed. From that experience, he learned effective ways to reclaim time.
One of his favourite techniques is to agree silently rather than ask questions, which helps speed things along. Another trick is to stand up while encouraging the presenter to keep going, subtly applying pressure.
He also highlights the power of closing your laptop and leaning back, signalling you're ready to move on. And if you want to end a meeting gracefully, ask, "Would you like a cup of coffee before you go?"
Next time you're stuck in a lengthy meeting, remember these handy tricks from Charles Tarbey! Thanks for listening!
