Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good morning everyone, good evening, good afternoon wherever you are,
and welcome to this week's Weekly Energy Boost. My name
is Elisheva, and today Ayton is on a travel a
journey and I am by my lonesome in the studio
and I am super excited to share this week's topic
with you. This week's episode is called cutting the Cord
(00:33):
removing negativity from your path, and we'll understand in a
moment how the energy influencing this week is really calling
us to get in touch with our deepest, truest self,
which is our soul. We'll talk about how to do that,
maybe even a couple stories to make it clear and
(00:55):
simple for us, and hopefully I'll leave you with a
meditation this this week as well that will help you
tune in and stay tuned in to the aspect of
ourselves that is always guiding us toward the lightest path,
the highest options, the most elevated version of ourselves, and
(01:18):
this is the week that we can really not only
attach ourselves to it, but of course stay aligned with
it and from that place live a deeply transformed and
fulfilling life. Weekly Energy Boost is a seven day spiritual
weather forecast where we provide our listeners with the most
practical and powerful tools to navigate the coming seven days.
(01:40):
We do that by sharing wisdom and tools from the
teachings of Kabbalah, and every episode ends up offering timeless
wisdom and tools so that you can use what we
talk about any week of the year, any year of
your life. So we spoke last week about the propensity
of the month of Scorpio, the month of Reshvan to
(02:03):
feel intense and intense when intensity, when you don't have
consciousness about it, can feel very negative. But before we
look at how to navigate the next seven days of
our lives, let's step back and reflect on what negativity
in our path shows up as, which to me is
(02:26):
a very it's a very different conversation than we've had,
at least in the last few months, because we've focused
on a deep process of reflection, of expansion, of increasing
our desire, and I think for a lot of us,
the negativity that we seem to encounter isn't self imposed.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Let's say it like that.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
We attribute the negativity or the darkness to a situation,
to something out of our control, to a particular person
or a group of people. There's so many different ways
in or I guess I would say, there's so many
different excuses we could make for pointing fingers, assigning blame
(03:16):
to the different sources of negativity in our lives.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
But Kabala asks us.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
To step back and say, well, if everything happens for
a reason, which were we jump to agree with when
everything that's happening is positive? But the real purpose of
that teaching is to help us to understand that literally
everything that comes into our path has a positive purpose,
(03:42):
and everything that comes into our path, whether we perceive
it as negative or positive, serves the singular purpose of
bringing us closer to the Creator. Now, what that closeness
looks like. You can to find it as a closer relationship,
talking more to the Creator, asking more questions, inviting more messages,
(04:09):
divine guidance signs, incorporating more prayer and meditation into your practice.
There's so many ways you could engage more regularly in
a relationship with the Creator. Of course, the Cabalists also
say to be close to the Creator is to be
like the Creator, to be light like, to be kind,
(04:30):
to be generous, to be magnanimous, to be expansive and influential,
and I guess what the cabalists say is that we
can't really understand the Creator himself. What we can't understand
is the light that emanates from that force. But the
one thing that we do know about the Creator is
that it's infinite. The words that the cabalists uses insulf
(04:53):
right and as extensions of the light of the Creator.
We also have that quality. We are so also are infinite,
and living in the physical reality can be really deceiving
because we perceive things, people, places, and things as finite.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
So why is that.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Important when we approach this topic of negativity or how
to live a less negative life or less influenced by negativity,
Is that we ourselves are the ones who are attributing
or assigning the label of negative to the people, places,
(05:33):
and things in our lives. So the first step is
really to decide that I'm no longer going to chalk
up these scenarios, these people, these opportunities as negative. I'm
going to look at them as opportunities. And that's one
of the first things that we teach in our courses,
(05:56):
in the level one courses, is that when challenges happen,
really opportunities, They're really meant to be used to our advantage,
and the question is only how quickly do we recognize
the light or the opportunity in any given situation. Now,
putting those kind of big picture concepts aside, the energy
(06:24):
of this week has one main influence, but it's really
a two pronged poke or push.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
From the universe.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
The first is going to really affect us for the
next four weeks, approximately four weeks, and that is with
the introduction of the influence of Abraham. We've mentioned before
in Weekly Energy Boost that one of the main sources
of what we share every week is the Zohar portion
that connects to every week, which is related to the
(06:54):
Torah portion of every week, the section of the five
Books of Moses, and this week we are introduced to Abraham,
where Abraham is told by God to leave everything he knows,
everything that's familiar to him, where he was born, his family,
to leave them behind, and that the Creator will guide
(07:15):
Abraham to where he needs to go. Now, so that's
the two pronged gift we're being given. The first prong
is one that's going to influence.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Us over the next few weeks.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
So if you're listening to this after the week of
you know after November first or November second, don't worry
about it, because this aspect is going to continue to
influence us through the codes that Abraham is revealing, through
his actions, through his guidance, and through his experience, is
that we are given the opportunity to deeply and profoundly
(07:56):
connect to our essence, our true essence, which is the
light of the Creator. Now you can say, well, can't
we do that every week? Absolutely, But if you look
at everything before Abraham, it was very much and the
Zora talks about this that the universe, planet Earth, if
(08:16):
you want to get specific, was very dark.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
There was a lot of chaos.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
It seems that whatever the Creator had intended to give
humanity in creating the physical reality was not being fulfilled.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
And Abraham was.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
The It was this very unique soul who was born
into a very negative environment. He put that negative. That's
the second problem, and we'll get to it in a minute.
He detached himself and left that negative influence behind to
forge a new path. And that's the path of spirituality
that you and I I'm going to speak.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
For you as well. You and I are on.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
In twenty twenty five, he was the first trailblazer of
the wisdom of Kabbalah.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
You know, he's also attributed to to be the.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Father of all monotheistic religions. But the ideas that he
had a sense that there is more and it's not
the external. And so even though we've spent these last
two months on a deep journey of mindfulness, of reflection,
of expansion, of elevation, the month of Rashivan, the month
(09:30):
of Scorpio, is really a month of revolution.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Like my wish for all of.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Us is that by the end of this month we
are looking back and not who we were only three
weeks ago, but let's say a year ago, two years ago,
and we think to ourselves, like, I can't be that
person anymore. And that's the beginning of the end to negativity,
when we realize that the negativity that we so called
(09:56):
negativity that we perceive as coming into our path shouldn't
be there, or we don't deserve it, or we must
be this must be a punishment for something we did
or didn't do. What we're really saying is, my life
is not attached to the infinite, endless light of the Creator.
(10:16):
I'm alone, I'm isolated. There's a mistake or a glitch.
The first realization that Abraham gives us the opportunity to
download this week is I am a piece of that
I am a part of that system.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Right.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
We spoke a little bit about that last week as well,
that it's really my job to reveal that light. But
if I want to stay on a path of positive, constructive,
meaningful growth life experience, I need to focus on the
spark inside me.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
That is the light of the Creator.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
That really the gift of Abraham is to awaken within
all of us that ability to be guided by our
own intuition, which is our soul, which.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Is a spark of the light of the Creator.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
That's really how we're all meant to live, and that's
how Abraham lived.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
That's how Abraham was able to be.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
As aligned as he was as an individual. And that
brings me to the second idea, The second prong of
this week's energy is that if we think about and
it goes back to something I mentioned a few minutes ago,
that it's so easy to attribute the negativity in our
lives to external influences and even you know, you can say,
(11:37):
well I have you know, I'm pessimistic about this or
I maybe there's a negative pattern that I have which
is a result of the different ways that I was
treated in my younger years. If I wasn't treated that way,
I wouldn't be this negative I wouldn't have this negative attribute.
And of course we learned from the writings of cabalist
(12:00):
like ravaac Luria, who talks about the journey of the soul,
that our childhood experiences aren't the cause. Our previous lifetimes
are the cause, and our childhood simply installs the conscious
software so that we'll be able to do the work
of healing and transformation as adults. That that's our spiritual work,
(12:20):
and by working through that transformation, we get closer to
the light of the Creator. We get closer to our
true essence, which is again our soul. So as we
look at how influenced we are by the external, and
I guess I shouldn't suggest this because it's leading the
(12:42):
witness a bit. But the real trouble begins when we
allow ourselves to be more focused on the external than
the internal. In other words, if you don't want the
negativity of other people, places, and things to influence you
stop looking outside for validation, approval, acknowledgment, recognition, justification. You know,
(13:08):
even something as small as waiting for things to be
waiting for the right timing, waiting for the right information,
waiting for something to unfold before you make your move
this way or that. Allowing the external to drive us
is one of the greatest sources of negativity that we
experience as human beings. And I'll give you, I mean,
(13:31):
I can give you so many examples right the influence
of social media on so many of us, not only us,
I think the greater damages on young people today, but
I think if we're honest with ourselves and we are
on social media, the influence is not necessarily the most positive.
I guess there are ways to use it positively, like
(13:52):
just to watch stand up comedy, to support your friends
and things like that. But the nature of creating content,
posting something about you know that you did or didn't
do or whatever, and then waiting for the recognition and
the acknowledgment. To me, social media is simply a metaphor
of how we operate, how we navigate our lives. And
(14:16):
one of the greatest secrets behind this Week's energy is
to the degree that we can operate from a more
internal place. To that degree we will be able to
eliminate negativity from our lives. And so in a big way,
we have the opportunity this week to look at the
(14:38):
ways that we are influenced by the external. Right do
we dress a certain way because of external expectations or opinions?
Do we vote a certain way? Do we frequent certain
places because they're in or there are there certain behaviors
(15:01):
or habits or opinions that we have that are not
necessarily ours. And realizing that so much of our motivation
comes from what we perceive we will receive or not
receive from external sources, the practice of turning inward and
(15:23):
really making sure that we are being guided by and
aligned with the voice of our soul becomes that much
more important. And there's a story about a cabalyst. The
truth is, if I'm pretty sure, the story is about
the Balshemtov, who was a very is a very well
known leader from a few hundred years ago in Eastern
(15:46):
Europe and is one of the famous things that said
about him. He himself didn't write his teachings, but he
has many people who wrote about the things that he
taught and the way that he lived his life is
that he used to go out into forest, into a
specific forest, and he would go to a specific tree,
and he would have deeply spiritual connections there, meditations. I
(16:10):
mean nobody, most people don't know have any clue where
that is. But inside this anecdote is a great lesson
for us. So he and other cabalists used to promote
the value of taking time every day to be by
yourself and to converse with the Creator. And he used
(16:34):
to go to a specific forest in a specific city,
to a specific forest, to a specific tree, to have
these conversations, to have these deep meditations, contemplation, reflection with
the light of the Creator. And when he passed away,
he had a few students that knew which tree, which forest,
(16:55):
which town that he used to go to, and they too,
at times there was a discussion is it this tree
or I swear it was this tree, But they would
try to go and access that same portal that the
Balshaemptov was able to access in the next generation. None
of his followers, none of his students, knew where the
(17:16):
tree was, but they knew where that forest was, and
they went to that forest to try to achieve the
same communion. Let's say with the light of the Creator
that the Balshamtov was famous for. They prayed, they meditated,
they talked to the creator in this forest. The next
generation didn't know which forest, they knew which town, so
(17:36):
they would go to the town and they would pray
in the town. They would wander through the forests surrounding
the town, hoping that they're getting it right or that
they found the right one, and you get the gist
of the story. The following generation didn't even know, wasn't
even sure which town it was. Now you can say, okay,
you know, this is a very nice anecdote history, historical
(17:58):
recounting of tradition.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
But what it really.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Tells us is that it's not about a town or
a forest or a tree. That what it tells us
about is the importance of turning inward and spending that time,
whether it's five minutes a day, twenty minutes a day.
You know, there's cabalists who did this for two three
(18:23):
hours a day, multiple times a day. That that was
really the focus for them. Their spiritual practice is having this,
you know, isolating themselves and being.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Truly at one with the light of the creed.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Or to the best of their ability, turning inward, having
those internal conversations, reflecting on our thoughts, words and actions,
and of course prayer as well. Now in modern times
quote unquote, it is unfathomable unless you go on a
meditation retreat to think about taking hours a day to
(19:00):
tune out the noise, the influence the world around you.
I have responsibilities. I got to take care of my kids,
my house, my job. Right there's so many external influences
that seem to make it impossible for us to have
that solitude, to have that time, that peace and quiet,
to be able to turn inward and tap into our
(19:22):
intuition to ask the important questions to receive that divine support.
Intuition isn't a voice you hear that calls you, or
a little message you get on a bumper sticker or
a billboard. Intuition is the voice of the light of
the Creator speaking to you, giving you the guidance that
(19:44):
you need, the answers that you need. It can be
you know, suddenly a book comes into your awareness or
a podcaster you're led this way, or that you meet
this person or that person. But to understand that it's
not something that comes to you. It is within in you,
and that's why the Balshemtov and other cabalists talked about
having time every day where you shut everything else.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Out and you tune inward.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
So for me, this month, this week, of course, this
month will have different opportunities to do similar work, but
this this week is really about cutting cutting the cord
to all of the negativity in our lives, by cutting
the cord to the external, to really be deeply and
(20:30):
powerfully connected to our our inner compass that tells us,
that is constantly telling us and guiding us. But when
you're busy thinking how's how are people going to think?
Speaker 2 (20:41):
What are they going to say? How's it going to look?
What's you know? How uncomfortable is it going to be?
What's unknown about it?
Speaker 1 (20:47):
That you get so lost in the external possibilities that
you forget. If you tune that voice out, it's going
to get quieter and quieter, and quire the extra noise
is always going to be louder. So in hopes that
this week we can find a way to carve out
(21:09):
that time, ideally in the morning, so that it can
imprint and affect the entire day, or if that's impossible.
And I've definitely experienced moments in my life. Periods in
my life we're doing anything first thing in the morning
was impossible. Maybe it's right before you go to sleep.
Maybe it's the first thing you do when you get
(21:30):
to your office. Maybe it's something that you can do
at greater length on the weekend. Whatever it is, find
a way. I really hope that for all of us,
by the end of this month, we can look back
and confidently say I am not the same person I
was for you four weeks ago, for sure, four years ago,
(21:50):
but four weeks ago and every week this month, we're
going to give you tools and consciousness to guide you
through that process. I want to leave you with a
pair from an article written by Karen Berg. I don't
know how long ago, probably seventy eight years ago. About
this week's portion. I'm just going to read the last paragraph.
(22:13):
It's connecting. It's giving us a meditation, something to keep
in mind for ourselves for the entire week, and then
I'll send you on your way. In your meditations this week,
take yourself to a quiet room, sit down and close
your eyes. Begin to observe your breath, breathing slowly visualizing
(22:36):
the rise and fall of your chest and the belly
moving in and out, turn the attention within. Is there
a dream you once had that you have perhaps forgotten?
Do you feel content and fulfilled? Begin to visualize a
small dirt road in the middle of a field. In
the distance, you can see that the road leads to
(22:58):
a bright light like calls you. You begin to walk
down this road. With each step toward this light, you
feel the presence of the Creator increase. You can hear
the voice of your soul growing louder. What does it say?
Where does it tell you to go? Oftentimes the road
(23:18):
less traveled is a road we must take alone. But
as you continue to walk, you know the Creator walks
with you and will assist you on this path. For
as we are willing to take one step toward the Creator,
the Creator will take ten steps towards us. It is
a road far from the roads of society, but it
is a road of our soul, is paved with the
(23:39):
joy of achieving our life's purpose, and there is no
joy better than that. Weekly Energy Boost is available on
