A man from Lutherville is facing charges for making threats
against the family of an accident survivor in Baltimore County.
The charges include first and second degree assault and using
a firearm during a felony or violent crime. It happened
at the home of sixteen year old Liam o'afdani, who
who survived a crash that killed two of his friends.
The man allegedly expressed outrage towards a family and pulled
(01:33):
a gun on a neighbor before leaving this scene. He
was later apprehended and was found to possess multiple firearms.
The man is currently held without bond following a court
appearance in Enrondo County. Cleanup work is complete after a
spill released more than sixteen thousand gallons of raw sewage
near Cypruss Creek in Savarna Park. A pipe failed Sunday
(01:56):
on Richie Highway, causing this spill. Most of the sewage
remain on land and was removed by vacuum trucks, but
about two thousand gallons entered Cypress Creek. DPW officials confirm
that sewage has leaked into Cypress Creek before, most recently
in twenty twenty four, County officials said infrastructure upgrades are
already underway to reduce the likelihood of futurist spills. According
(02:20):
to DPW, a project to replace and upgrade aging pipes
is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
All right, And this story, because it's happening on the water,
captures my attention and I think you're gonna be fascinated
by two. There's a thirty one year old woman. She
started in Malibu, California on May twenty first, which was
two weeks ago tomorrow, and her intention is to row.
(05:14):
And she's on a twenty one foot boat with a
rowing machine that's controlling the only motivation empowering of the boat.
Twenty one foot boat she is rowing from Malibu, California
to Hot Well, she's trying to hit o Wahu, Hawaii.
Will she hit Hawaii? Will she make it? Well, here's
(05:34):
the backstory. A few years back. She did do this before. However,
last time was with three other women rowing the boat
as well. And you have to understand that they were
able to row twenty four hours a day with four people.
Couple would sleep, a couple would row, they would take shifts.
(05:55):
That way they could control the projection of the boat,
you know, heading toward Hawaii, and you got to navigate
the winds and the tide and the trade winds, everything
is pushing the boat off. Of course, she's by herself now,
completely solo.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
It's only her rowing this vessel. Now.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
She has a background and she's got history of being
on a river. She was a riverboat tour guide and
she's been on the water her whole life.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Her name is Kelsey.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
You can find her battle getting to Hawaii at you
you row row Kelsey on Instagram. But I want to
share with you during this segment just real quick clips
of her journey, starting from day one. We're going to
go through the first three days and comments she has.
(06:51):
She's posting from her boat daily so that we know
she's doing all right.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
Day Warren becoming the first American woman to row solo
from calf to Hawaii. It is day two of becoming
the first American woman to row solo from California to Hawaii.
These last couple of days have been pretty big challenging.
It's pretty hard to get off the coast of California.
The current pushes you down south and a lot of
(07:18):
the wind direction is either south or sometimes a headwind
to day three of becoming the first American woman to
row solo from California to Hawaii. Last night I got
over the Continental Shelf, which is really cool. It's like
this big cliff that drops off off the coast about
fifty to sixty miles out, and as I was approaching it,
(07:39):
I was fighting a really really strong current.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
So Kelsey has to grow twenty five hundred miles to
reach her destination. We're going to find out how she
does on the rest of her tour right after Ella Langley.
Thirty one year old Kelsey Fendler is an experienced ocean rower.
She previously crossed from California to Hawaii back in twenty
(08:05):
four as the skipper of the four woman team. This time,
she's trying to become the first woman to do it.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Solo, and we're following along with her.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
You can watch on Instagram if you want, and here's
a clip. Let's pick up we left off after day three.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
Day four of becoming the first American woman to row
solo from California to Hawaii.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Today was pretty great.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
The sun finally came out and I was able to
charge some of my batteries all right. Day five, becoming
the first American woman to row solo from California to Hawaii.
Speaker 6 (08:41):
It has been a hard.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Okay, oh the water's got rouss.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Look at that.
Speaker 6 (08:50):
Reserfid.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeah, the waves went seven of becoming the first American
woman to row solo.
Speaker 7 (08:57):
From California to Hawaii.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
Listen to this cold out here today.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
The front is still on us. It should pass and
then probably the next twelve hours or so. But last
night was pretty big. The waves got even bigger.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
She was dealing with twelve to fourteen foot waves on
a twenty one foot rowboat, following a young lady, thirty
one year old Kelsey Fendler, rowing from Monterey, California to Hawaii.
And we followed the first two weeks that she's been
out there.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Day becoming the first American woman to usslo from California Tehuai.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Dam's really hard.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I think yesterday when.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
That big system was kind of ending for the big waves,
and I was really excited that I was getting a
normal kind of northern ly back along the coast, getting
some following season, just kind of.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Having a little bit of time.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Theresa day nine of becoming the first American one to
ros solo from California to Hawaii.
Speaker 6 (10:02):
I definitely turned a corner today, the day ten of
becoming the first American woman to ro solo. Can imagine Itai,
I brushed my hair for the first time in ten days, which.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Is pretty good. The first time in ten days. She
was able to brush her hair.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Because she's got a row eighteen hours a day, she
sleeps the remainder. She's got a little cabin on this boat,
but it's just her and when she's not rowing, the
boat is being pushed off of its target of Oahu, Hawaii.
She's now up to thirteen days out there. She's gone
(10:36):
five hundred miles. She needs to complete twenty four hundred miles,
and she says this has never been done before and
it's not an easy accomplishment. So we wish her luck.
And I just wanted to share the story because I
really think this is an encouraging, inspirational story, especially for
young women, you know, who need heroes, enroll models and
(11:00):
that sort of thing. It's a really cool story, first
woman to row from California to Hawaii. And it's almost
think about this, if you can't picture it in your
mind's eye, it's almost as much mileage as we've got
(11:20):
from New York to Los Angeles to go from the
coast of California to Hawaii, and it's almost the same
amount of miles twenty five hundred miles. She's gonna have
to row. And she's doing this by herself. And when
I saw this, and when the winds pick up and
a storm hits, and you've got fourteen fifteen.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
There could be twenty foot high waves.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Now she's trying to navigate this during the prime time
of the year, right but she's still at the risk
of the weather. So I don't even know what to
say about it. I just think that this is probably
one of the craziest thing.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Anybody can do right now.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
We wish he are the best of luck, and we
will certainly keep you updated on it. All you need
to do is follow Michael, j and Candace in the
morning and we'll do our best to keep you updated.
Speaker 2 (12:12):

(15:17):
we have a new country song from a woman you're
gonna recognize, Taylor Swift dropping a new song on Friday.
This is not it, obviously. These are just a few
of the reasons though that I think that I think
Taylor should come back to country music. And they say
(15:38):
the song is country that she's dropping on Friday. It's
all about Cowboy Woody and it'll be on the soundtrack
for the new movie Toy Story five.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
I want to try.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Something and we're gonna call it ten calls decides it all.
We're gonna take ten telephone calls if you can get
a hold of me right now at eight hundred three
two one thirty six ninety three. Ten calls will decide
whether or not you think Taylor needs to come back
(16:10):
to country music. Now remember I say country, not coming
back to do what she's been doing for the last
umpteen years, but back to what she did when she
first got started as a country singer. Eight hundred three
(16:33):
two one thirty six ninety three ten calls.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
You will decide it all.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Should Taylor come back to country music? We want to
find out what you're gonna think.
