The 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer Doudna, a team of researchers at UC Berkeley for discovering the revolutionary genetic engineering tool, CRISPR. A few years ago though, this recognition didn't look so sure for them.
