Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to a Blonde,
a Brunette and a Mike podcast.
We're just two Seattle bestieswho keep it real, definitely
unfiltered, and are always readyfor a laugh.
I'm Michelle the Blonde.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hey there, and I'm
Jules the Brunette.
Join us as we dive into all ofthe juicy topics like dating,
women's health, sex politics, relationships and everything in
between.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
We each have our own
unique perspective and don't
always see eye to eye, but thatjust makes our conversations
that much more interesting.
That's right.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
So if you're looking
for a podcast that's both
entertaining and honest, I thinkwe've got you covered.
Two authentic women, both withreal talk let's go okay, blondie
, here I am, here you are, yes,and here I am in, uh, the great
pacific northwest, and we havean announcement don't let the
(00:57):
sun go down on me or I gotsunshine.
I just like that part because Ican harmonize.
Okay, this is our sun downepisode.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
That's why I chose
that song.
Yeah, don't let the sun go downon me, but we are letting it.
We're going to let it go down,we're letting it come right back
up.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
So do not despair the
blonde and the brunette are
coming back with a whole newlook in may may 6th actually so
let's talk about this a littlebit.
Yeah, so let's dial back that'smy favorite thing to say to
dial back to, uh, 2018, when westarted talking about a podcast
(01:39):
and doing a podcast and I ranacross this page that I had sent
Michelle um, that had differentnames for the podcast and such
on there, and that's pretty muchas far as we had gotten.
The pandemic happened.
We were dealing with this house.
She had to move out.
(02:00):
Blah blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, move back in.
Okay, so we started in 2023 andcame up with the blonde vernet
in my name and realized, aswe're kind of going through all
this chime in anytime honey.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Well, no, it's just.
It's like the timeline for thepodcast 2018, this was Julie's
brainchild, she posed it to mewas like I think we should do a
podcast.
Wouldn't it be fun to do apodcast?
So we would talk about it.
Like Julie said, fast forward.
We went through the pandemic.
(02:36):
Everybody has their storiesthrough the pandemic.
We certainly had ours, and whenshe mentions this house, this
is Julie's house that we're bothliving in now, and we had
struggles together, just FYI.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah, we had her, but
I don't sleep downstairs, she's
up.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah, and, and so we
had our own struggles with that.
I ended up like she said Imoved out.
And when I moved back in in2022, she brought the podcast
thing up again and she said Ithink this is when we should do
the podcast.
You're back now, you've movedback in, I was living downstairs
(03:16):
and we're going to have time todo this together.
So we just started the ballrolling and moving forward with
some things through the rest of2022.
And in fall of that year, westarted hammering out names for
the podcast, and that was a hardthing to do.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
It was trying to come
up with what we, what would
kind of epitomize what we werelooking at doing, and so we kind
of played with that one for awhile.
But really for me it was, I hada goal of learning something
new, and so learning somethingnew means there's a lot of
technical aspects of podcastingand that sort of detail, but
(04:02):
what we really didn't focus toomuch on was the marketing aspect
of things and kind of dialingdown our what we call niche,
because we have had topics thatare all over the board purposely
and have had a lot of differentlisteners that are from a wide
range of ages.
We have both men and women, youknow, that are tuning in as
(04:27):
well, but we realize that a lotof the material we're doing is
really really guided towardswomen and women our own age.
So what did?
Speaker 1 (04:35):
we do as it should be
because we're two women yeah we
are women, even though we weretrying to reach a brighter
audience, fate would have itthat our our audience really,
for the most part, our midlifeaged women, 40 ish on up, right.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
And having gone
through a lot of the same stuff
that we have been through in ourlifetimes um related to do a
lot of things aroundrelationships.
Now, when I say relationships,I'm not talking like romantic
relationships completely.
I'm talking about relationshipswith ourselves, relationships
with other people, friendshipsetc.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
it's.
It's crazy when you think ofthe word relationships, a lot of
time it always goes to aromantic like whether dating or
partnership, marriage, that kindof a thing.
But relationships, there's abroad compass within that Family
relationships, the way thingsaffect relationships, all
(05:39):
different kinds.
So at the beginning of thisyear, when we were gearing up
for 2025, at the beginning ofthis year when we were gearing
(06:00):
up for 2025, we were looking tochange some things.
And to Julie's point, she'slike an entrepreneur, so she's
always on the more.
You've heard me refer to her asa dog with a bone and she is
like that in many circumstances.
This one is no different.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
And I have given her
some gray hair, but her hair is
blonde.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
So you can't really
see it, yeah, so.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I've given myself
some too.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yeah, cause we we've
had struggles as we've gone
through the podcast journey andwe're now going to take those
and throw them into a positivelight.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
We're working with a
Whitney Gardner is a podcast
marketing coach and we call her,the young Yoda, because she is
young and full of energy and welove working with her and she's
really made our brains hurt, thinking about kind of directing
our content, directing ourmessage, the things we want to
(06:49):
discuss and everything toward aspecific group.
So, anyway, we won't get into aton of that right now, but what
we really wanted to do is justlet you guys know that the
blonde, the brunette and the micare sundowning.
This is the last episode, sowe're going to keep it super
short because we're not sayinganything really in particular
that you're going to learn fromright, but we are going to say
(07:11):
you're going to love what'scoming.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
You're going to love
what's coming.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, we've got some
good stuff, and we can go way
deeper on topics that we reallywant to discuss and develop a
nice little community of womentogether.
So all of that's coming.
We are going to be offline forthe next three weeks and our new
, rebranded version will bedropping on May 6th.
(07:34):
So at that time we will haveall kinds of new content.
We have a new name.
We have a whole new thing.
We're not going to tell youright now, but we will be.
You'll get teasers.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Yeah, we'll be
announcing all of that.
You'll get teasers along theway.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
And we hope you like
it, and if you're a guy, you can
still listen.
You would learn a lot aboutyour lady friends.
But a lot of it's gearedtowards, you know, women, yeah,
women, our age Women who aregoing through a lot of the
things that we have gone throughor are going through.
We don't Michelle will give herdisclaimers like we don't claim
to be experts on a lot of thisstuff, but we're experts from
(08:11):
our own experiences that we wantto share.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
We've dealt with and
been through a ton.
So I mean we are experts.
God damn it.
Yeah, Actually, no disclaimershere, oh my.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
God, michelle did not
disclaimer us, she always
disclaimers us.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Yeah, no disclaimers,
because uh, yeah, not, I'm just
, of course, blamers because, uh, yeah, not, I'm just, of course
, having fun here.
But I mean we've been through alot and we dealt with a lot and
we have come through it all.
Not that we're at the end ofany kind of journey, cause it
never ends, um, but wedefinitely have learned a lot
(08:52):
along the way and that's reallywhat we want to share, because
if what we have learned alongthe way and how we handle things
and the way we do things andthe way we stay young cause you
know, we're- you know we're,we're getting on in years but we
don't, we don't let that holdus back, Right?
So?
Speaker 2 (09:11):
uh, getting on in
years.
Oh, my God, you know, I justhad to sound old.
For to sound old, why don't youput on your blue hair and then?
Speaker 1 (09:16):
she says spicy,
whatever.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
But yeah, you're
about as spicy as they come,
yeah, so anyways.
So anyway to all of you, thankyou so much for uh tuning in and
listening and really kind ofgiving your support with the
podcast the way we've had it.
We're going to have a newversion of it Same people, we'll
have guests as well, but a lotof the topics are going to be
(09:41):
related to what we were justtalking about and we would love
for you to continue tuning inwhen the time comes.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Do it.
You're going to want to YepAnyway thank you again and again
.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
The socials will all
be the same, but the name will
be different, and we'll let youguys know the names will be
changed to protect theinformation.
Yeah, until then, we hope youhave a wonderful, wonderful rest
of the month and we will seeyou on May 6th.
May 6th, okay.
