Embarking on a journey of spiritual evolution has been nothing short of a revelation for us, and we're thrilled to share the insights gained from intertwining mindfulness into our tapestry of daily life. Feel the calmness that has anchored us as we open up about the serene twists and turns of personal growth. Our conversation unfurls a rich tapestry of experiences, from Marlena's deep dive into meditation, shadow work, and the guiding wisdom of tarot, to Christy's raw alchemy of emotion into poignant written word. We celebrate not only our individual transformations but the collective strides taken together—stepping boldly out of comfort zones and thriving in the joy of evolving with you, our cherished listeners.

This episode we journey through the mystical crossroads where feminism, witchcraft, and mysticism meet, exploring how these aspects weave through the fabric of our identities. The fluid dance between The Witch, The Mystic, and The Feminist within us emerges as a central theme, revealing that each facet can rise to guide us when called upon. We commit to the longevity of our podcast as a beacon of joy and service to the community, sharing a pact to preserve the passion that fuels our conversations. Should the fire wane and the weight of commitment overshadow the light of enjoyment, we promise to reassess, ensuring that our podcast remains a source of inspiration and not a tolling bell of duty. Join us as we navigate the evolving landscape of self and society, promising to keep the flame of curiosity and connection burning bright.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome back to a Witch Amistakena Feminist.
Today on the show we areanswering listener questions, so
this is exciting and anxietyinducing apparently to more than
just me.
But we're excited, we'rethankful for everyone that asked
us questions.
So mom is on the show.

(00:31):
Our producer is going tofacilitate the Q&A, so we
appreciate you.
Thank you for doing that.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
You are so welcome yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
And I want to thank everyone who sent in questions
as we inquired and people whohave just sent them in.
In general, we may not get tothem every day or all of them
today, excuse me, actually wewon't.
We got a lot of questions andwe do appreciate that, so we'll
get to what we can now and thenwe'll have another show doing
questions again.
So keep them coming.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
All right, ladies, are you ready?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Nope.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Here we go.
I wish we had a buzzer.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
We like buzz in.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I'll answer that one Ding ding, ding, ding.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Just tap your microphone, oh there we go.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Oh God, that's not annoying.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
That doesn't add time to my editing.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Not at all.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Just like don't do that, Just like Marlena, keep
your opinions to yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
All right.
So this is from a listener inLos Angeles.
How would you say you have seeneach other grow from the
podcast and have you personallychanged?
So two questions.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
We're all like go, jamie, I'm raising my hand.
All right, jamie.
Well, I will say I'll startwith myself, because that's
probably easier at this point.
I have learned so manydifferent practices to have a
more peaceful, calm day to day,if you will, and it's not always

(02:03):
something that works all thetime.
I've always dabbled a littlebit in meditation, I've dabbled
a little bit in we just weretalking about yoga, trying yoga
and just different things, breath work, all these things
that I've always thought, oh,that would be interesting, that
would be interesting.
And now we've had theopportunity and the blessing of

(02:24):
interviewing such knowledgeablepeople that I find in my day to
day, even if I don't meditateevery day, even if I don't
meditate once a week, if I'mhaving a stressful moment, I
know I can take a pause and, okay, let's do some deep breath
work, let's step away.
I have incorporated practicesin the morning, where I'm waking

(02:46):
up every morning with doing myritual, if you will, thanking
the Divine Universe, divineCreator, mother Earth for waking
up my family, for giving usanother day in this journey, and
it sets the tone for the day.
I would say I've gotten intothat practice 95% of my everyday
weeks, so I've really seenmyself be a little more calm and

(03:11):
present and less focused oneverything else going on around
me.
So I would say the guests thathave been here have really shown
me opportunities of how I canbe better for myself, which, in
turn, is better for those aroundme my family, my friends, my
coworkers, even strangers, because I'm just nice.

(03:38):
And, in turn with my fellowco-host, marlena, I have seen
such growth in you.
I mean, you came to us withthis opportunity to do this
podcast and you were alreadystarting your journey.
I feel like you were well intoit, but still trying to find
your avenues, your paths, whatworks for you, what doesn't work

(03:59):
for you.
And I've seen such an evolutionin your day to day.
Even though there's been verystressful times that last a very
long time, you still come backto the center and say, okay, I
know I haven't done this in awhile and I know it helps me, so
let me get back to mymeditation, let me get back to
my shadow work, let me get backto my cards.

(04:21):
You have these incorporatedpractices now that help you get
through life, and I've known yousince what?
Junior high.
So I've seen this greatevolution of your journey and
tools that are helping you getthrough some of the most
stressful times you've ever hadto deal with.

(04:41):
So that growth in you has beensuch a blessing to see and be a
part of.
So that's crying, and, christy,my God, I think I've seen you
flourish so much in your writing, your expressiveness and being

(05:02):
a bit more vulnerable to theworld.
You always have had a kind, genuine, authentic heart, very
approachable, very just,welcoming.
But what you're putting outthere now, that's exposing a
little bit more of who you areat your core and recognizing.
That is just also a blessingand beautiful to see.

(05:26):
And I love seeing your writings.
You're so good, you're so goodabout putting it down on paper.
I could never be thatexpressive and I just love
seeing your soul come throughthat process and you putting it
out to the world because we needit.
So I know I took question oneYay, how do we follow up?

Speaker 4 (05:52):
from that.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Well, I just I want to say like it's a pleasure to
witness you both and your growthand your continued like just
desire to learn and put yourselfout there, like I think we've
all grown in other ways, notspiritually, but just in
stepping outside our comfortzones and having to get guests

(06:18):
and interviewing skills and eventhose hard skills we've grown
in, and so it's been just apleasure and an honor to grow
beside you.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Is the episode over?
Is that all I am with?

Speaker 3 (06:33):
that.
Are we good?

Speaker 4 (06:35):
No, but I mean, all of us are, no, but I mean
honestly, when it comes to thispodcast, there isn't anybody
else I would rather do it withthan you know, the two of you
and mom, because this has justbeen an amazing journey.
And you know, Jamie, you usedto be so restrictive with what
you would want to learn and whatyou would want to do, and, man,

(06:58):
you did not even want to dothis, she did not.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
No, no, I did it because you said jump with me,
that's okay because that's whatI do with Marlena let's go,
let's jump.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
We always do crazy shit.
Yeah, yeah, why not?
Let's see what happened.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
You know, but to watch you personally grow, and
you know the things that you arestarting to incorporate in your
life and you know we weretalking about the tools you know
and you gathering all of thosetools as well to be able to get
through the day to day, likeit's just, it's beautiful to
watch, and, christy, I just Ican't even I find the well, no,

(07:36):
I can't find the words you knowto be able to express.
There has been such a hugechange in you in just the last
year and a half, and I can'teven pinpoint it because it's
just, jamie, you know what I'mtalking about, though, right?

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Yeah, yeah.
The vulnerability and thewillingness to put your
authentic self out there.
Your expressiveness has justbeen beautiful, and sharing that
with the world has just beenbeautiful to see, and your
growth has been amazing.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
So, and the confidence that I see in the
both of you, yes, yes, you knowthat is huge, because I think
that all of us had self doubtand lacked the confidence you
know to be able to do this oranything I mean.
But you know, the confidencethat I've seen in the both of
you has been huge and admirable.

(08:28):
And, yeah, I just love you guys, love you too, Love you Okay.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Question two Okay.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
So question from a listener in Orange County Since
doing the podcast, has anyone'sspiritual paths changed?
And question two from the samelistener do any of you have
special abilities?

Speaker 4 (08:48):
I can walk on water, don't worry, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
That's in our next show, so I can answer.
I'll answer the first half ofthat.
I don't know if it's changed.
It's changed course.
And calling myself a mystic andyet not having a modality that I
prescribed to was reallysomething that I was fighting
with, and everything resonated alittle bit right, like, oh, I

(09:16):
could get into tarot cards, oh,I could get into divination, I
could get into you know, okay, yeah, like, but nothing ever
just jumped out and said this isit yet Okay?
And so because of that, Ireally did feel like for a while
, like well, maybe I'm just notas spiritual, or maybe I'm
moving off this path, or maybeI'm moving sideways to the

(09:37):
parallel to the path.
And so I finally came to theconclusion and acceptance of
every spiritual, mysticaljourney is unique and is going
to be.
It can either have modalitiesassociated with it or it can
have no modalities associatedwith it.

(09:57):
If my modality is walking innature and that's my meditation
and that's how I connect andthat's how I feel best, then
that is my modality.
I don't have to keep seekingfor a modality to validate my
spiritual journey.
And so I really wanted to tellthe listeners that as well.
Like, if you're like I'mspiritual but I don't do

(10:18):
anything right Like I don't.
Like you know, I don't go tofull moon circles and I don't do
all these things becausenothing really resonates.
That's okay.
You're still spiritual, you'restill valid, your beliefs and
your practices are valid, andmaybe someday I will find
something that really, trulyresonates with me, or maybe
it'll be something that Ilearned about on the show and it

(10:39):
will happen years later and itwill resonate.
Then it just might not be theright time, and that's okay.
So right now I'm clinging to.
My spiritual journey is veryunique and individual to me and
I connect through the XYZ waysand I'm going to continue with
that.
So well, it hasn't, it hasn'tcompletely changed.
I'm not like, oh no, don'tbelieve in any of this anymore.

(11:00):
It's shifted and yeah, and soI'm okay with that, I'm good, I
love it?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
What about special abilities, marlena?

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Well, I don't think I have special abilities.
I mean, you know, I can connectwith people.
I mean no really, but yeah youcan, I know.
But you know, like my tarotreadings and stuff like that and
my connection, so like latelyI've been doing tarot readings
for a few people and stuff likethat, but I haven't been feeling

(11:33):
very connected lately, Ihaven't been feeling very
grounded.
You know, jamie, you weresaying going through stressful
times, I always end up comingback, and it's true, but I
always felt like, you know, oh,I have to be completely grounded
to be able to do this and sobeing okay with, like you know,
I know that I'm guided, I knowthat I'm protected, I know that

(11:55):
there's, you know, my higherself is chatting with my spirit
guides and all of that.
And so when I do tarot readingsand I still get like wigged out
like oh damn, that was likereally cool.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
I was really connected, kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
So, yeah, I mean I have that, but, as far as you
know, has my spiritual pathchanged?
I don't think so.
You know, I'm still absorbinginformation and knowledge and
seeing what resonates with meand what doesn't, and you know.
But sometimes I also take abreak from learning or my
practice, because I have to sitwith it and absorb the

(12:34):
information and not justconstantly learn, learn, learn,
because then you burn yourselfout.
So, and also learning how toput it into practice.
Yeah, what about Jamie?

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Jamie, do you have any special abilities?
I don't know if you'd call it aspecial ability, but I
definitely feel more connectedto my angels, my spirit guides,
my lost loved ones that I don'tthink I had before we started
this podcast and learning thedifferent techniques.
I very much relate to what yousaid, christy.

(13:08):
Like I kept with every episode,I got inspired, whether it be
tarot cards, whether it bereadings or meditations or you
know all the things that are outthere and, like everyone was
like that's, that's it, that'sit.
And then I would like start todive into.
I'm like this is not it.
Yeah, this doesn't feel likelike it doesn't feel right and

(13:29):
so I was getting very sadbecause I just thought this is
going to be the thing that showsme my path, like where, what
I'm supposed to do.
And I still feel that.
But I have, with every episodeand every guest I would get so
inspired and then I would belike deflated because it wasn't
what I wanted to do or didn'tsit with me.

(13:51):
But I will say, overall, I'vealways felt a connection with
angels and my spirit guides andI feel like that is my special
ability, even if it's somethingthat isn't for everyone or for
me to share, like you know, as apractice with them, but for me
it is definitely.

(14:11):
My connection to the universeis through my angels, through
the archangels, through myspirit guides and my lost loved
ones, and I definitely haveimproved that connection and
ways to really talk to them andbe with them and divinely
protected and, yeah, I thinkthat's my special ability, I'd

(14:34):
have to agree.
For me, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
All right, our producer, my mom currently
having some technicaldifficulties, so she is no
longer on this episode.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
She's no longer facilitating this episode.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Yes, Due to technical issues.
So, jamie, all right, here wego.
I'm the new host.
New question asker SkedaddleSince our producer had to make a
mystical disappearance?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
All of a sudden she was gone, all right.
So question three comes out ofSunnyvale, california, they
state when I listen to the showI think I hear a little witch,
mystic and feminist in each ofyou.
What percentage of you do yousee in yourself?

Speaker 1 (15:25):
33.3% of my God.
I was quite curious if one ofus was going to do that.
Yep, just 33.3333333.
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Percent.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
But seriously, do you guys see a little bit more of
one or the other?
I?

Speaker 4 (15:44):
think it really depends on the situation.
You know I mean it.
Yes, there is no-transcript awitch, a mystic and a feminist
in me, in each one of us.
And you know, it's funnybecause when we thought of that
name it really was a joke, Likewe had been trying to think of
names.

(16:04):
We had meetings, all kinds ofthings going on, and you know,
when I can't think of things, Iimmediately turned to humor and
so, you know, I went with yeah,a witch, a mystic and a feminist
walk into a bar and so, butit's stuck.
But the thing is is, you know, while I may be the witch you
want and Christy may be the themystical one and Jamie may be

(16:25):
the feminist, we're all that.
Yeah, Each one of us, and so,but I can't say that all the
time, I am 25% feminist and 60%witch, and do the math.
For the rest, of the mystic, Idon't Do your own math.
Do your own math.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
And whatever, whatever's left over.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Get out your calculators, people, whatever's
left over is mystical today.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
But yeah, you know, I think in certain situations,
you know, I kind of am able tolean into one, if not all three.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Yep, I agree, but I will say, like, up until
probably six months ago, Ireally thought my witch part was
so much less Right, so I wouldhave, I would have said I was
equal parts feminist and mystic, and then the rest was a witch.
But that's been reframed for mein the past couple months.
And witchiness, woo-woo, thatkind of thing.

(17:22):
It comes in many differentforms, like I said, and it comes
in many different modalities.
Sometimes it's not a modality,sometimes it's just within you,
and so you know I have to saythat at times I feel much more
feminist than I am mystical, andvice versa.
It just depends on the day andthe situation.
And I love yeah, the situationand I love that it varies and

(17:46):
there's times and places forthose things to show up, right
Like there's a time for reallyembracing the feminist part of
you and to show up in that way,and there's also a time to show
up with the mystical side of you.
So I like it A nice littlesmorgasbord.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
I have definitely felt, and I think I still do, I
am wholeheartedly came into theshow like, yeah, I'm the
feminist, I'll take that, I'lltake that title.
And because we were all tryingto like okay, who, even though
we're all a part of everything,it was like okay.
We kind of deemed ourselveslike okay, this one, this one.
But I am still working on thatas we all are.

(18:30):
But my witchy woo woo side, mymystical side, and trying to
embrace it a little bit more andfind that side of me, because I
know it's in there.
Thank you all, thank you, but Idefinitely don't think I have a
problem with the feminist sideI think.
I've been a little always maybeover the top when it comes to
that.

(18:50):
So when we thought of the nameof the show, I was like yeah, oh
yeah, like let's talk aboutthis.
So I would say I'm, of course, just like all of us, a little
bit of everything, but Idefinitely think I embrace more
naturally the feminist name, ifyou will.
That just to me is like oh,yeah, yeah, now let me work on

(19:11):
my witch and mystic side, sothat's what I'm getting from it.
That was a fun question.
Yeah, that was a fun question.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Equal parts and we know more than 3, 3, 3, 3.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
3.33.

Speaker 4 (19:23):
Yeah, of all three, and that's just because it's
easy math.
I'm like 25, 60.
What's left, all right.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
I think we have time for one more question, because
we want to save some of thesefor future episodes.
And again, thank you everybodyfor sending in your questions.
We do appreciate it.
Our final question for today isfrom Hercules, california how
long do you plan to continue tohost the show?

Speaker 1 (19:53):
I'll go first, okay, for however long it feels right
and we feel called to it.
I don't have an end game, likeI don't have an end date.
You know?
Yeah, as long as it serves itspurpose and as long as we can
see that, I'll keep going.
Yeah, that's all I can say.
I don't know, yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Because, I mean, there's some podcasts and you
know we're in our own littleniche here, but you know there's
some podcasts that have beenaround for like 8, 10 years,
even longer.
And so, you know, do I see usdoing this for 10 years?
I don't know.
You know, I mean because onething about life in general and

(20:37):
us, is we still have to evolve.
So if we continue to do theshow for, you know, a long
period of time, the show itselfis going to need to evolve.
And how do you?
I don't even see at the momentlike how that would happen.
Of course, you know, do youever see how you're going to
evolve and change?
No, but yeah, so, christian, right there with you as long as

(21:03):
it feels right, yeah, we'llcontinue pushing forward.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Yeah, agreed, and it's got to remain enjoyable for
us and our producer, who spendsa lot of her time producing the
show for us editing.
There's a lot of work that goesinto it and as long as it
remains enjoyable for us as wellas our audience, I'm in.
When it gets to the point whereit feels like it's another job,

(21:30):
then I think it's a time toreevaluate, just because this is
supposed to be about our growthand our journeys and our
experiences to share with theworld, but also learning, and
there's things that have tohappen in order for these shows
to happen.
So when it becomes a task thatis not enjoyable, I think that's

(21:53):
a clear sign of reevaluation.
And, like you both said, whoknows how long that is?
Is that going to be in sixmonths or six years?
I don't know.
Mom might get very bored atediting.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Mom will be like you need to go find yourself another
editor, producer, you all needto go find someone else Done.
I'm not spending all of myretirement editing your app show
Marlena.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Exactly, and that's valid.
So I think it just it has tostay enjoyable, and I enjoy it
right now and I don't see itgoing away anytime soon, but we
know life happens, so we'll see.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
And you made a good point that there's real work
that goes into these shows.
Right, it's so.
As long as the real workcontinues to feel okay to those
that are involved, then cool,we're good those involved are us
and mom I know well and mom,the four of us.
Like that's it involved?

Speaker 4 (22:50):
I know, Couple would be very disappointed that you
did not include her in the mixbecause you know, whenever I'm
recording an episode she comesin I'm like, come on, let's go
do the podcast.
And she sits right next to melike we're a part of this
podcast.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
I was a guest on the show, so with, with so couple
too, couple, yes, so there'sfive.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
There's five total that do this, and our husbands,
who tolerate us on Sundays whenwe record and you know all the
things, and when we go onweekend vacations and bring our
recording stuff with us, becausethat's what we have to do
sometimes.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Yeah, so yes, that's a lot.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
But, with that said, I'll let Christy take us out and
again, thank you everyone whobrought in their questions.
We will be doing this again, sokeep them coming.
We really enjoy your thoughtsand input from our listeners, so
thank you.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Again to echo.
Jamie, thank you very much forthe questions and I'm looking
forward to the next episodewhere we answer some more of
your listener questions.
In the meantime, go toWMFpodcom to engage with us and
to look at past episodes.
Listen to them, but you can getthis podcast wherever you
listen to podcasts, which you'reprobably doing right now, and

(24:04):
on those platforms you shouldprobably or we would really love
and appreciate if you wouldlike and subscribe.
That would be just fabulous.
So yeah, until next week, havea good week and we'll see you
