Ever find yourself trying to micromanage the universe? I sure have, and let's just say it's been quite the wild ride. On this episode of 'A Witch, A Mystic and A Feminist', I, Marlena, pull back the curtain on my personal struggles with control, especially in the context of the Law of Attraction. I share a story about a job opportunity that seemed destined by the stars, yet turned out to be the universe's way of teaching me to let go. This isn't just my story, though; it's a mirror to reflect on our collective need to control and the fear that drives it.

Our conversation will take us through the labyrinth of our control issues and the coping mechanisms we've built like fortresses around us. But what if these walls are actually keeping us from the magic that happens when we collaborate with the cosmos? Join me as we explore the paradox of surrendering to the universe's wisdom, even when our logic screams for a tighter grip. I invite you into this dance of trust and release, where personal anecdotes and mystical insights blend, revealing what it truly means for us control enthusiasts on our spiritual journeys. No guests, just you and me, embarking on a path where the unknown becomes our ally in growth and transformation.

Witch, a Mystic and a Feminist.
Now let's begin with thisweek's episode.
Hello everyone, it's Marlenaagain, and welcome back to
another episode of A Witch, aMystic and A Feminist, or as I

(00:49):
would like to call it.
When I do these solo episodes,I'm working on myself and I'm on
a healing journey, so you allget to hear all about it and
listen to me confess about howI've made mistakes.
Or I continue to make the samemistakes, and now I'm dealing
with those lessons, or karma.
Or I continue to make the samemistakes and now I'm dealing
with those lessons or karma, andin this episode, it's all about

(01:10):
law of attraction and thechallenges faced by
self-proclaimed control freakslike myself.
So there's this fascinatingphenomenon where individuals who
love control are drawn toteachings like the law of
attraction.
They see it as a powerful toolto manipulate reality according
to their desires.
After all, what control freakwouldn't love the idea of
micromanaging every aspect oflife?

(01:31):
I know I'm one of those people.
I have definitely attempted tomanipulate reality and use
manifestation and the law ofattraction as a way to control
my life and the circumstancesthat I've been dealing with.
But here's the catch being acontrol freak and practicing the
law of attraction are not aperfect match.
The energy of the need tocontrol everything can be well a

(01:54):
bit fucked up in various ways.
It doesn't align with the ideaof being a true co-creator with
the universe.
Being a true co-creator withthe universe involves aligning
your energy, trusting theprocess.
Aligning your energy, trustingthe process, letting go of
resistance, visualizing positiveoutcomes, practicing mindful
manifestation, expressinggratitude and recognizing the

(02:16):
collaborative nature of therelationship between you and the
universe.
This topic was inspired by a jobopportunity I thought I had.
I was attempting to manifest ajob with my previous company,
with my previous boss of 15years.
I thought I had it.
I thought I read all of thesigns correctly.
I was watching a show and myformer boss's last name came up,

(02:38):
and then the next day he textedme.
His name came up again and thenI found out that one of the
partners at the firmunexpectedly passed away.
So he and I talked, and then afew days later, as I was on my
way to the airport, I wastalking to my husband about my
former boss and the partner whohad passed away, and then when
we got to the airport, he textedme telling me to have a great

(02:59):
time on vacation but also askingme what would it take for you
to come back and what would thatrole look like to me?
Keep in mind, this all tookplace as I was leaving for
vacation and then, when I cameback, I was also finding out
that my firm was being acquiredby a much larger firm and I had
no interest in going back to biglaw.
So I told him exactly what Iwanted and then my former boss

(03:21):
ghosted me like completely.
So there was a lot for meemotionally to unpack.
So now I find myself strugglingwith the law of attraction, and
this all has to do with controlissues and the fear of change,
which I know we've discussed atlength in this podcast, but it's
a scenario many of us canrelate to.

(03:42):
Let's address the elephant inthe room control issues.
The inclination to control, orwhat we commonly refer to as
control issues, often originatesfrom deep seated fear.
The fear can manifest invarious forms fear of things not
unfolding as meticulouslyplanned, fear of vulnerability
and, ultimately, fear ofundesirable outcomes.

(04:03):
The need for control becomes acoping mechanism, a way for the
mind to assert dominance overuncertainties and mitigate
potential risks.
In the realm of control, fearoperates as a powerful motivator
.
The mind, in its attempt toshield us from discomfort and
perceived threats, adopts adefensive posture.

(04:24):
It convinces us that bymaintaining control we can
safeguard ourselves from theunpredictable nature of life.
This defensive stance, however, can inadvertently restrict
growth and hinder the naturalflow of experiences.
The crux of the matter lies inthe realization that true
co-creation, as illuminated bythe principles of the law of

(04:45):
attraction, necessitates adegree of surrender.
It involves letting go of thetight grip.
Attraction necessitates adegree of surrender.
It involves letting go of thetight grip of every detail and
entrusting the unfolding ofevents to the wisdom of the
universe.
This letting go is not arelinquishment of responsibility
, but rather an acknowledgementthat the universe operates
beyond the scope of logicalcomprehension.

(05:05):
Our minds, conditioned to seeklogical explanations and
step-by-step processes, can findthe workings of the universe
perplexing.
The truth about the universe, however, transcends the confines
of pure logic.
It's a tapestry woven with thethreads of energy, vibrations
and interconnectedness.
While our minds yearn forexplanations that neatly fit

(05:27):
into logical frameworks, theuniversal truth often surpasses
the limitations of linearreasoning.
This is where our feelings playa pivotal role.
Emotions become the compassnavigating the intricate terrain
of our thoughts.
When thoughts align with theuniversal truth, there is a
resonance that evokes positivefeelings.
On the contrary, thoughtsincongruent with this truth

(05:50):
elicit discomfort and negativeemotions.
Therefore, feelings serve as aguidepost, indicating whether we
are in harmony with theuniversal flow or resisting it.
In essence, the journey fromcontrol issues to co-creation
involves acknowledging andunderstanding the roots of fear,
embracing the idea of lettinggo and recognizing the

(06:12):
guideposts provided by ourfeelings as we navigate the
intricate dance between the mindand the vast, mysterious cosmos
.
The key lies in trusting theguidance we receive,
understanding that our minddoesn't have to figure out every
little detail.
I cannot believe that I'm aboutto say this, but sometimes it's
okay to not know exactly howour desires will manifest.

(06:36):
Trusting the process can leadto experiences that strengthen
our faith and dissolve fears.
So to our overthinking, controlfreaks who are afraid of change
and crave freedom, remembermanaging your vibrations and
trusting the universe is a pathto true freedom.
Embrace the journey, face yourfears and let go of the need to

(06:57):
control every aspect.
And what did I learn from mysituation with my former boss
and trying to manifest goingback to a place that I felt
comfortable?
Well, with the help of a mentor, I have realized a number of
things.
I left because I was no longerthe same person and also because
I knew my worth and I wasn'treceiving it.
What I didn't realize was thathe too was no longer the same

(07:20):
person.
I have always had blind loyaltyto him and I needed something
like this for me to see his truecolors.
Did I misread the signs?
Maybe I did, maybe I didn't.
What I do know is I let go of myfears regarding the merger and
this new job.
I let go of the fear that I wasnot qualified or I was not
going to do well, or I had tomeet new people.

(07:42):
And do I have to put on thismask and not be myself.
I let it all go, and now I'mtruly thriving in this position.
I myself, I let it all go andnow I'm truly thriving in this
position.
I also realized I have a deepunderstanding of my own worth
and unfortunately he couldn'tmeet me at that level.
So that's it for today'sepisode of A Witch, a Mystic and
A Feminist.
Thank you so much for tuning in.

(08:02):
Remember that you are not aloneon your journey and sometimes
letting go a little can lead tothe most incredible
manifestations.
Until next time, keep embracingthe magic of life, thank you.
