Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome to A Witch, a
Mystic and A Feminist, and this
episode is me talking about mytrip to Sedona.
That was weird kind ofintroducing myself.
But, yeah, welcome back.
We're glad to be back and I'mvery excited to share my trip to
Sedona.
Um, marlena has been to Sedonaa couple of times and everyone
(00:30):
that has been to Sedona ever hasalways told me that it's a
magical place.
So, yeah, so, so I went acouple of weeks ago, um, and I
was skeptical because ofeveryone telling me it was
magical, right, and I justreally didn't know what to
expect.
The skepticism in me wastelling and I guess, maybe just
(00:59):
a little more like self-doubt,was telling me like it might not
be magical for you, you mightnot experience anything, because
, marlena, your experiences wereso unique and so clearly magic
Right, and so I'm like I don'tknow.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Well, quick question.
So you went to Sedona, but whatwas the purpose of going to
Sedona.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Did you go with your
family, did you?
So yeah, so I actually kind ofa weird thing.
So I recently connected with awoman from high school.
We went to high school togetherand she was a year older than I
, was Um, we knew of each otherin high school.
We were, you know, friendly, but we weren't friends, um, and
so we had connected through likea writing circle that I was a
(01:38):
part of Um and she did a retreatlast year in Sedona, um for
women, and last year I couldn'tgo and I was really devastated
because I was like, oh, that'dbe great and I just I couldn't
go.
There was, even at the lastminute, like an opening, and
that weekend that the retreatwas was actually a memorial
service for my Nana.
So I was like, well, I can't go, like obviously.
(02:00):
So I told her I'm like I am thefirst one Like you got to tell
me right when you do thisretreat again, if you do it.
And she's like gotcha.
So, sure enough, she did aretreat again this year and I
was on it and signed up reallyquickly and then kind of not
regretted my choice, but I waskind of the oh shit, what did I
(02:21):
just do Right, because, becauseit was with you know, because
she is the facilitator, she'sthe host and the rest of the
women, you know, I don't know.
So there was going to be 10women and I'm like I I barely
know the host, I don't know anyof these other women, so I'm on
my own and, um, I was startingto like, internally, go like you
(02:42):
need to invite your best friend, you need to invite this person
, invite this person I invited,I invited Tannen because they
needed a yoga teacher at onepoint.
I'm like good it would besomeone I know Right Like.
So I was like desperatelytrying to like find somebody
that would come with me, that Iknew that would make me
comfortable, and the universewas like no it's not happening.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I'm going to keep you
uncomfortable, because this is
what you need this is what youneed to sit in Christy.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah so.
So the universe was like, nah,not happening, you're going to
go by yourself.
And you know, a funny part, like and this is totally me is
I'm like, oh, you know, okay,I'm going to rent a car and I'm
going to drive.
You know I'll be able to listento my music and kind of center
myself before I go.
And then, as the dates weregetting closer, our host said to
us we had a group chat and shesaid you know, if anyone's
(03:29):
flying in, I encourage you guysto carpool, you know from, if
you're flying into Phoenix, sedona is about, you know,
almost two hours away.
And so, without even a thought, like I was just like I have a
car, like I'm renting a car, ifanyone wants to carpool with me.
And I'm like what are you doing?
You wanted to be alone.
Like you wanted to like listento your music and road trip
alone.
What?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
And now you're going
to invite some strangers into
your car for a two hour drive,or whatever it is to Sedona
Exactly, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
So, um, so again.
So you know, just likeconflicting sides of me, um, but
it was a great thing that I did.
Um, having the extra time withthe women that I carpooled with
was awesome because we got toget to know each other, you know
, within those those hoursbefore we even reached the
retreat, and so that kind ofgave me a little sense of, like,
(04:17):
you know, security, like alittle safety, right, I kind of
know these women.
Now we've talked.
It wasn't surface level when wewere talking, it was all deep
shit and good things and um, andso I was like, okay, I like it,
it's good.
So again, universe, great, great job, thank you.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Okay, so I have
another question.
So you're getting into Sedona,um, because this was, like I
know, for me the beginning ofthe magic and the awe.
What side of Sedona did youstay on and what was it like for
you, as you were like drivingin and seeing everything?
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Oh gosh, and I knew
you were going to ask me this.
I'm like I don't know.
Do you kind of like?
Speaker 2 (04:56):
drive in like down
into Sedona.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Yeah, Like you kind
of, you have cactus and
everything around and then allof a sudden it's like red rocks
all over the place and it'sgorgeous.
But there's two sides of Sedonaand there's the bell rock side
and then the other side.
The non-bell rock side because Ihad stayed uh, I had stayed on
(05:29):
the other side initially andthen, when I went with my mom,
we stayed on the bell rock side, which I love both.
Um, and that's not like Sedonais.
I mean it's big, but it's notlike huge.
I mean you're you're able to goto either side and yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah.
In the middle, yeah, in themiddle, yeah, um, I don't know
I'm here, um, I was like, uh, Iknow they told me so, oh, I
guess Bell Rock.
So Bell Rock was five minutesaway.
So there we go.
So we were on Bell Rock side,um, and so, like what we all
(06:02):
noticed, cause I was driving, right, but coming from Phoenix,
it's a lot of cacti and then alot of like you know that
scenery, and then you literallystart driving into the red rocks
, right, like you start, andthat was pretty awesome because
it's like it gets to be fromPhoenix, it gets to be just kind
of like it reminds me of likefive, like there's nothing,
there's no one and you're justyou know and then all of a
(06:24):
sudden, like you, you realizethat the landscape is changing,
like as you're driving towardsit.
And then you can see, and it'sjust, it's beautiful, it's
gorgeous, and that was reallycool driving into.
And then it's such a littletown so, and it has that like
cool little town feel and solike.
So that was, I love it, it'scharming, it's quaint, you know,
but it's bigger, you know.
(06:44):
And so I'm like, oh, it's socute, um, and we stayed in this
amazing place that just had themost amazing views and was the
perfect place for this retreat.
So that was really amazing.
And we did yoga in the morningsevery day and right before our
hikes, and ate together, um,lunches and dinners.
(07:05):
So we communed together.
And the first night we werethere, our host had us go around
and kind of give a word for whywere we there, what was our
intention for being there.
And I had kind of given this alittle bit of thought before I
went because I thought she mightask us.
You know, I'm like, um, and somy word was connection and it
(07:26):
was connection to all the things.
So it was connection to myself,my connection to the earth,
connection to magic, connectionto other women Right, and a big
part of me really put myself outthere with this retreat because
I wanted to see if I could havea connection with other women
in a short period of time, likeother strange women not strange,
(07:47):
but like strangers or strangewomen, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
We love them.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
You can connect with
strange women too, yeah, and so
that was a big piece of it,because I have not been a part.
I have never done this before, never put myself out there like
this.
We I know we've all been harmedby women like friendships with
women, and so it was really likecan this happen?
I'm in a different place, I'm,parts of me are healed.
Will it be as amazing as I hopeit'll be?
(08:15):
You know like, will I meet andlike become friends with some of
these women?
We're not?
You know like?
Will I have commonalities?
Will I be able to haveconversations, and not just
surface level like those, allthose things, but more so, it
was connection, and I know I'veshared this connection to magic,
like, and not just in the earth, and because, like, I have been
(08:37):
questioning my connection tomagic.
So both of you have modalitiesthat are very or gifts, I should
say, that are very outwardlypresenting.
Okay, so, like Jamie, you havea connection with spirits.
Both of you have connectionswith spirits, right, and your
pendulum and all the things, andso it's very outwardly like,
(09:00):
outward facing Right.
And so the past couple ofmonths I'm like, okay, well,
maybe I'm too skeptical, maybeI'm closed off, maybe I'm not
open.
Um, I don't know, like where'sthe magic, like where's my magic
?
What is my magic.
But it feels kind of silly tosay that out loud, like where's
my magic, like you're likefeeling left out.
(09:22):
But you know, it was just kindof like, well, maybe you know,
maybe I am being too skeptical, maybe I am not allowing things
in, and so this was a chance forme to really let go and allow
what happened to happen.
Okay, because I knew I was in asafe space.
Um, I knew I was protected.
I knew the women around me werethere for the same reasons,
(09:43):
right.
So that was another big pieceof it.
And so I just I was protected.
I knew the women around me werethere for the same reasons,
Right.
So that was another big pieceof it.
And so I, just I was like I'mgoing to allow myself to be.
And so, interestingly enough, Iwas fairly quiet the first day,
right.
Like I mean, I chatted andstuff, but like I was fairly I
went and had to take a nap, likeafter a hike.
You know that I almost killedme, but that's okay.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
We'll go into that in
a few moments.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
And, like normally, I
would feel awkward and kind of
like, well, you're excludingyourself.
And there was none of that.
It was like you are doing whatis best for you.
You're doing what's right foryou at this retreat.
This retreat is for you, it'snot for others, Right and um.
And so I just kind of settledinto that and that's kind of
where all the magic started.
So, um, we can get into that.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Wait before you get
into it.
I love that because I think andI I'm just imagining myself in
your situation I would and thishas always been something I have
always battled but peoplepleasing and not wanting to make
people feel like I'm puttingthem off or you know, I don't
want to talk to you.
So I I'm so glad that youallowed yourself to be in your
(10:52):
space and not allow the outsidefeelings, thoughts, whatever
that might pop in Cause I couldsee myself doing that and I'm so
glad you allowed yourself thatacceptance, because it's not
being rude, it's being I'm herefor me.
I'm here for me and in my space, and this is what I feel I need
to do and how I need to proceed.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
So I'm very proud of
you and now I can't wait to hear
about that Well, thank you, yeah, and, like I said, all the
women were there and kind of hadthe same mentality, right.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Like they were there
for them.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
And that really
helped, because nobody was like,
oh my gosh, she's not talkingto anyone, like, no, like there
was none of that.
It was just like, yeah, we'redoing our own thing, yeah, okay.
So the first night we werethere, we had a woman come in to
do a sound bath and a Reikihealing.
And so oh, and you had neverhad Reiki before.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
No, so like see.
And so you had never had reiki, before.
No, so like see.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
These are all new
experiences for me okay, yeah,
so, um, so she broughteverything in and we were all
laying on the grass in the andshe makes tarot decks.
So she actually has a shop intown and she makes tarot decks,
and so this tarot deck was ananimal tarot deck that she had
(12:12):
illustrated.
And so she went around and shehad each one of us draw a card
and not look at it yet.
And then we looked at them andshe went around and told us what
they meant.
Okay, so everyone's drawingthese cards, right, and I don't
remember what everyone had, butlike a snow leopard and like
whale and like all these likecool things, right?
Speaker 2 (12:38):
And I'm like.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
I turned my card over
and it's a toad, okay, and I'm
like, I'm like, okay, I'm like, well, fine, I'm like again, you
get what you get.
It's like this is the card andliterally I felt chosen to pull
that card.
So I was like it's fine, but Ilaughed a little internally
because I'm like can I neverpull a card that like like I
want, like I don't, I want zebra, I don't know, I want something
(13:05):
like more majestic.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I want zebra, I don't
know.
I want something like moremajestic.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
You need an elephant,
but actually a toad is.
You know, it's got some greatsymbolism, so please continue.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Yes, so what she told
me is a toad represents a
connection.
So that was her first word.
Okay, so, and I had just saidthat a few hours earlier.
And she said it represents aconnection to the earth, it
represents a connection to magicand it represents a connection
to the world.
Okay, so it's all aboutconnection, and so I'm looking
(13:38):
around going, okay right Toad.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
that card just told
you you were in the right place
at the right time.
You can't make this up.
Welcome to your journey LG.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
you are in the right
place at the right time.
You can't make this up.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Welcome to your
journey.
Welcome, welcome.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yep, welcome.
So I'm like okay, cool, awesome, well, the synchronicity of
that, I can't ignore that.
So we get into the soundhealing and the Reiki and again,
with any sort of meditation andany sort of practice like that,
I have a hard time lettingmyself completely go, especially
(14:13):
in a different environment.
So I had to really kind of getinto like a deep space and be
like again, you're safe, everybody else doing the same
thing, no one's thinking you'reweird, there's no judgment,
we're all here to do this.
And so I actually felt like itwas an amazing, amazing
experience.
And I could feel the energymoving through my body and I got
like your salvatory plans, right, I was like producing a
(14:34):
ton of saliva, like, and it kindof like hurt.
So I was like did the energyget stuck?
You know like what is going on?
I was like what is wrong?
And I'm like, well, maybenothing's wrong, maybe that's
just how things are moving in mybody.
I could feel things twitching,I could feel things moving and
I'm like, wow, and I really gotinto like this deep meditative
state.
And as I get into thismeditative state, I hear a toad
(14:57):
not joking, I hear a toad andI'm thinking and I'm trying to
stay, not, I'm trying not to bein my brain, my logical brain.
But my logical brain is likeit's probably in the music, like
.
But my logical brain is likeit's probably in the music, like
you're probably hearing justlike a little toe, that's in the
music and I'm like, whatever Ihear it, whatever it's fine
Moving on.
So, towards the end of thisReiki sound bath, I start having
(15:17):
these visions and all I canexplain to you is that it was
like there was a glitch in thetimeline because it was me, but
I couldn't see if I was old oryoung.
It was glitchy, but it was mesomewhere else.
Okay, and everything in me waslike this is something that
(15:38):
either it's a glitch in thetimeline or it's a I don't know.
Like it's something, a pastlife, like something Right and
right.
As I was getting into that, shebrought us out and I was like
so yeah, so anyway.
So then we all sit up you knowwe're kind of waking up and we
sit up and she says who drew thetoad card?
(16:00):
And I raised my hand and shegoes there was a toad right next
to me, did you hear it?
I said I actually did hear it.
And she goes yeah, it was rightup here next to me.
She's like it was the weirdestthing.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Well, and when you
were talking about your glands
and the pain there, I was likebut you drew the toad card, like
you know and you know how theyit extends their throat or
whatever.
I was like so okay, I just thetoad was letting you know he's
whatever.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
I was like yeah, so
okay, I just the toad was
letting you know he's present, Iknow.
And then he made a noise.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
He made a noise, yeah
, um.
So that was all amazing, right, and I had to write about it.
I had to go to bed.
I did all the things, um, andwent to bed, passed out, um, and
the next day we did a prettystrenuous hike up.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Cathedral rock did a
pretty strenuous hike up
cathedral rock Um.
Marlene is already laughingOkay.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
She's like.
I know it's not an easy hike.
No, not from the beginning.
Yeah, no, and I'm glad I didn'tdo any research on it because I
might've chickened out.
But it's not like a hike that Ido on the weekends, okay, like
it's like rock climbing and then, and then it's night and then
(17:13):
there's like a trail and thenyou kind of got to go like
straight up through like tworock crevices and then my brain
the whole time was like thinkinghow are you going to get down?
How are you going to get down?
Yeah, you're going to get upthere.
How are you going to get down?
So luckily, there was, like youknow, some of us women were
like everyone stuck together indifferent groups, but there was
a couple of us that had, likewere behind where the stragglers
, I guess, and every time westopped in the shade we'd be
(17:35):
like should we just stay here?
And then one of us would belike, well, let's go to the next
place, you know, next shadespot.
Okay, we'd get there.
And then we both would be like,um, maybe we're done, are we
done?
Speaker 2 (17:53):
And then, and then
she's like I see the end of
trail sign and I'm like, damnyou, Now we have to finish.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Yeah, so we get to
the top and it was amazing,
right, it was worth it.
But my legs were shaking, likecause it was hot, right, but,
but we set out early, knowing itwas gonna be hot, and like my
legs were shaking, I'm thinkingto myself, god, I don't know how
I'm supposed to get down, likeI don't trust my legs at this
point.
Um, so we sat, we sat up thereto pictures, we, you know, had
snacks.
We just really enjoyed it.
(18:19):
Um, I didn't go as far as, likethere's like a wind tunnel that
you can experience, Like if youhike kind of behind one of the
rocks, and I didn't go as far asthat.
Maybe next time, when I'm moreprepared.
Um, and then we went down therock and pretty much slid.
I slid on my butt or I did acrab walk the entire way down.
I did not trust my legs enoughto take me down safely.
(18:41):
And then also, like sometimes Ifeel, cause I'm tall, so I
don't feel close enough to theground to feel secure.
So, like, cause I'm tall so Idon't feel close enough to the
ground to feel secure.
So like, so I'm sliding downright, I'm going down to people
you know we're all going downand then we get back to, uh, the
house and I go to take a showerand I take off my shorts and
they are split down the back.
So then I'm like who has seenmy butt?
(19:05):
Like?
Speaker 2 (19:06):
I was like did anyone
notice, right?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
So I, after I take a,
has seen my butt Like I was
like, did anyone notice, right?
So I, after I take a shower, Igo downstairs and I'm like, so I
don't know.
Like, if you guys didn't tellme, like that my short, my
shorts were split and thenthey're like no, we would have
told you we didn't say it.
I'm like okay, good, fine, soyou know, so I threw those away,
but I mean, but you enjoyed theexperience.
It was beautiful.
It was a beautiful experience.
And our host was smart shescheduled that hike the first
(19:30):
day, knowing that it was hard, and then an easy hike the second
day.
So, oh good, kudos to her forthat planning.
And so that night, so actuallythe afternoon, we had free time
and I really wanted to go outand explore Sedona, but I was
exhausted and so I was like youknow what I'm going to?
Just I'm going to honor myselfand I'm going to take a nap.
Why I took a long ass nap andso which I kind of woke up and I
(19:52):
regretted a little bit, but Iwas like you know what?
There's a reason for it.
There's a reason for this.
It's okay, right.
And so that night we went on astargazing tour and our guides
took us to this clearing and Idon't have the name of it, I
don't even know if they gave itto us, but they took us to this
clearing where there was avortex, where there was energy
blowing, and you know, um spentsome time with us kind of
(20:18):
letting us feel the energies.
What I felt in the energy waskind of a tingling in my fingers
, almost like like a warmtingling, almost like you've
touched a electrical outlet kindof right, and then like it
zapped you a little bit and thenthe tingling spread into my
hands and it was warm.
There was just warmth up myhands and in my arms.
The other thing that I felt ismy feet were hot, like I'm not
(20:43):
talking like you're standing toolong and they kind of get warm
and like you need to move them.
I'm talking like you'restanding too long and they kind
of get warm and like you need tomove them.
I'm talking like you'restanding barefoot on asphalt,
hot, and I was wearing hikingboots and it was, you know, dust
, wow.
So I'm like, okay, well, thisis cool, you know.
So, um, we were at this clearingwhere there was said to be lady
(21:04):
spirits protecting something,um.
And so, you know, theyencouraged us to.
Well, we were going to do adrum circle and they just
incurred.
They said you're safe here, like you know.
Just, these women are not goingto hurt you, but they are
protecting something.
We don't know what they'reprotecting, but there's
something up here that theywon't leave, okay, and so he's
(21:24):
like so you may feel their, their presence while we're doing
this drum circle.
And so he encouraged the, boththe um tour guides encouraged us
to kind of face whatever way wewanted, but we were going to
stay kind of in a circle, esque.
And so, you know, everyone'sfacing different directions and
I decided to face North, therocks, and for some reason I
just felt called to face thatway.
(21:45):
And so the drum circle beginsand I'm trying to get into a
meditative state and stay thereand my left arm starts to want
to raise.
Okay, not like, not me raisingit, but just raise.
And I'm like oh, that's weird,girl, I don't know if you want
to happen and uh, and so stayfocused.
(22:11):
So I'm like just let it happen, like you're safe, like just let
it happen, it's not a big deal,no one's looking at you, just
let it happen, right.
And I'm like right.
So my arm starts to raise andit raises out to my left right
At's my left arm and it keepsraising, keep raising almost to
shoulder height, and then itbegins to outstretch right Like
(22:33):
I'm reaching for something.
And as it's outstretching, itkeeps going and something is
tugging me.
There is a tug at the end of myhand, there is something
nudging me in that direction orpulling me in that direction,
which was the direction of wherethe lady spirits were Okay or
were said to be.
And so I'm like well, do I turn?
(22:54):
I was like no, I don't want toturn.
Right, I don't want to turn.
And so I try to close my handbecause I'm like what am I
holding?
It felt like I was holdingsomething.
So I was like what am I holding?
And I'm like I don't know, isit an object?
What is it?
And I couldn't close my, Icouldn't make a fist, so I
couldn't close my hand all theway, and I started concentrating
(23:15):
too hard on like what, what wasin my hand right.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
I was just like what
was in my hand.
What were?
Speaker 1 (23:17):
you holding, yeah,
yeah.
And so I finally was able toclose my fist and as I closed my
fist, the pulling on my armstopped, okay, so like the
nudging in that directionstopped and I'm like, well, shit
, did I ruin that?
Okay, whatever.
But my arm stayed raised.
Okay, there was like it wasjust there and I'm like, okay,
weird.
And then my right arm starts toraise.
(23:40):
Okay, now, this is the timelapse I want to say that was
probably 10 minutes of my wholeleft arm thing.
Right, like it was a decentamount of time, maybe five.
And so, like my right armstarts to raise and there was a
split second of fear, and Idon't know if it was because I
was outside the circle, like myright arm was outside the circle
or why, but split second, andthen something was like you're
(24:01):
good, okay, it's okay, it's okayIf your hands outside, it's
okay, it's okay If your handsoutside, it's okay, right,
you're safe.
And so my right arm starts toraise and now both my arms are
like up kind of in like a praiseworship stance.
Like you would see people likekind of like this right, like
and I'm thinking to myself, god, like my muscles might hurt,
(24:23):
like it's been a while Likethere are just my arms are just
suspended there, Like, but itwas so weightless, there was no
tension, there was no effort, noeffort yeah.
And the whole time that I'm inthis drum circle, my feet are
hot, so I'm having to bounce myfeet back and forth because I'm
like they feel like they're onfire, and so I was like able to
(24:45):
say to myself, well, maybethat's just earth magic, maybe
you're drawing earth magic upthrough your feet, right, like,
maybe that's what's happening.
And um, and I was like, butit's okay, like your, your feet
aren't on fire, it's all right.
So my arms stay there and thedrum circle ends and they drop
and I'm tired, my shoulders aretired, like, and I'm like, oh
(25:05):
God, I was like, okay, well, that was painful, um, and I'm
like I don't know what justhappened and all the other women
have had other experiences.
And somebody says should wegroup hug?
Right, and we all go in to thecenter of the circle and we
group hug and I start crying andI'm like, why am I crying?
And I'm like, oh, this iscommunity.
(25:26):
And I was like this isconnection, this is the
connection that you wanted.
It exists, and it was sobeautiful.
And I was just like, okay, like, if that's all I get out of
this, that that's it, that'sfine, that's enough.
And it was just such a purelylike mystical experience.
(25:51):
Right, like other women feltthis lady spirits touch them on
the back or touch their arm, orlike you know, they had all
these different experiences.
And I'm fairly certain that onewas holding my hand and trying
to pull me in a direction and Iwas too stubborn to turn, you
know like for whatever reason, and so so, yeah, so that night
(26:12):
was just, it was.
It was just pure, purelymagical, and we were all kind of
on a high and it was, it wasgorgeous.
So the next day I decided, okay,I got to do something in Sedona
, right, like I've got to goexplore, cause that was our last
like full day.
So we went on this easy hikeand then we were in the car
coming back and one of the womenwas like I'm going to make a
(26:34):
psychic reading appointment.
Does anyone want me to book youone too?
And I'm like, yeah, do it Right.
And so she's reading off thenames, like she's like so.
(26:54):
She's like okay, um, so shehands me her phone and like I'm
reading off the names and it'slike priscilla, jenny merriman.
And I'm like, oh, merriman, I'mlike I don't know if you're a
boy or a girl, but whatever it's, I like your name, so we're
gonna do it.
Yep, so, um, so I book thispsychic reading with merriman
and we.
So we go back to the house andwe change, we headed out and we
were early and we're like, let, well, let's just see if they can
take us early Cause there'sthree of us that went in, so all
three of our psychics wereavailable, which was amazing.
Um, and Maryman comes and getsme and she is an older white
(27:18):
lady blondish white hair.
She is exactly who I would havelike imagined.
I'm like immediately at easeand I like I know nothing about
her.
I don't know anything about herspecialty, I know nothing.
And she says to me do you knowanything about astrology?
And I said I do you know alittle bit?
And she's like okay.
(27:38):
She's like do you just want todo your birth chart or do you
want to do your Akashic record?
And I said I started to sayjust my birth chart.
And then I turned and I waslike actually a mixture of both.
And she goes okay, and I'm likewhat the fuck?
She does a caution.
So I had paid for 45 minutes.
So let's just I'll put that outthere.
(27:59):
Um, and then another thingbefore I start the story I want
to say, kind of just want topreface this so I left my
corporate job in January and Ihad been there a decade.
Um, I went back to an employerthat I worked for previously and
he does things very oldfashioned, so I stepped back in
time pretty much with him.
Um, um, another piece of this Iwon't go into too much, but,
(28:24):
like Brian, he started stayingat home in February with the
boys, right, so that was atransition for us.
Um, so we sit down and you knowmy last psychic reading, if you
recall, I gave her nothing.
So she so, like I did not, Ididn't, like I would tell her,
yeah, that resonates, yeah, thatresonates, but I was giving her
(28:46):
absolutely nothing, right.
So I feel really I'm sorry, I'mvery sorry.
So, but like this woman, like Iwas just at ease with I was
like I wasn't giving her a ton,but I was, I was talking to her,
I was actually having likehaving the reading,
participating in the reading,right?
Um, so she brings up my birthchart and the first thing she
says to me and I'm like, oh, shesays you have a nourishing
(29:09):
career.
And I said Nope, and she goesokay, she goes, all right, she
goes you are a nourishing person.
And I said nurturing, notnourishing, nurturing nurturing
nurturing.
So, um, I said, no, actually Idon't.
I have a very logical careerLike it's, you know, very it's
(29:33):
not creative.
And she's like, okay, she goes, all right.
But and she's like, well, like,as we read your birth chart,
please like correct me, right,Because I want to be able to
like connect to who you trulyare, right.
So she moves to um myrelationships.
And that's the second thing shesays is you could be very happy
(29:54):
with multiple partners.
And I laughed and I said, yes,and she goes, but you're in a
committed relationship.
And she says you're married andI didn't have a ring on or
anything.
And she says you're married.
And I said, yes, and she goes, and you would, she goes, yeah,
you're married, you're committed, but he knows this about you.
And I said he does, and shegoes, okay, she goes great, so
(30:16):
you know.
So we're kind of laughing backand forth.
And then, um, she kind of goesinto um, she says to me it looks
like your job deals withpatterns.
And I said, I said, yeah, Isaid it does.
And she goes, you're reallygood with patterns.
And I said, well, yeah, I feellike I am, you know.
And she goes, yeah, but notshe's like patterns, like like
(30:39):
you're learning or you're takingpatterns that you're learning
and you're applying them to yourlife.
And I said I am, that's justkind of what I was done.
And she's like, yeah, okay, that's a big part of who you are
.
And I said, okay, cool, so wego through the rest of the birth
chart and it's pretty, it'sspot on.
It's pretty spot on.
There's a couple of littlethings.
You know that like I had tocrack her on, but pretty spot on
(30:59):
.
So at this point I think it'salready been 30 minutes, right.
And so she's like well, let's,do you want to do your Akashic
records?
And I said, yes, please, right, and um, and so we opened my
Akashic records and the firstthing that came through to her
was me sitting at a old desk andshe described it as like
(31:22):
vintage old wooden desk in anold like wooden chair and I'm
writing in a red ledger.
She goes, you're obviouslyworking.
She goes, but but it's all,it's really vintage looking,
it's very old.
So immediately in my brain I'mlike well, I've stepped back in
time workplace, right.
(31:43):
And and I so I say that to herI said, well, I've stuck back in
time, like I feel like I sitback in time in my work place
and she goes.
Okay, she goes.
I don't know if that's quite it, but it could be, you know,
because all these things couldbe metaphors for other things.
So, um, and I said, okay, she'slike but just keep that in mind
, cause it's a very strong imageand I said, okay, so we didn't
(32:03):
open my past lives.
Um, we actually stayed in thepresent and we went where my
guides took me and it was allabout my present, which was
really what I needed at the time.
And so she starts taught, westart talking about you know my
job and we start talking aboutmy workplace.
And she goes.
She goes again.
(32:23):
Patterns are coming up, likepatterns are very strong, and
she's like like they're gonnabenefit you.
Like patterns are very strongand she's like like they're
gonna benefit you in the future.
You know, she's like.
She's like we're gonna have tosee.
And I'm like okay, cool, sowe're talking.
She's hitting, like all the keypoints.
She hits things about Brian onthe head.
She hits things about the kidson the head.
(32:43):
She is like scarily, eerilyaccurate, and I'm like oh my God
, yeah Crazy.
Yeah, and we talked about mywork a little bit more and, um,
she said your guides are tellingyou I want to make sure that
you got an agreement in writing.
And I said, oh, I did.
And she's like, okay, she goesbecause that's going to come
(33:04):
into play.
And I said okay, I'm like, yeah, cool, got it.
She's like all right, cool.
So we reach a point where shesays do you want to ask any
questions?
And I say I do.
I said what magic do I have?
Okay, and tell me.
And she looks at me and shesays earth magic.
(33:25):
And I start crying, okay, andI'm like, and I'm like, but
where is it?
Speaker 2 (33:35):
How do I use it?
Why can't I be Dr Strange?
What can?
Speaker 1 (33:42):
I do do Um and so,
and she's, she kind of goes, oh,
and she, you know, passes mesome Kleenex.
And at this point the timer isgoing off, like it's been 45
minutes already.
She's like, don't worry, we'llkeep going, don't worry, it's
okay, I'm not going to chargeyou, it's fine, we're going to
keep going with this.
And I said okay.
And she said to me she goesearth magic.
(34:03):
I said first, I said where isit?
I'm crying, I'm like because Ikill everything, I go.
She's kind of laughing.
And she said, she says to mewell, earth magic isn't just
about, like, like, growingthings, like plants and trees.
She goes but do you feel betternot wearing shoes?
Like, do you feel better whenyour feet are connected to the
(34:25):
ground?
And I said I do.
And she goes okay, there you go, right, right, that's a
connection to the earth for you.
And she said but it's not justphysical connection to the earth
, it's also connection to thepatterns of the world and its
connection to your community andits connection like.
That is all.
It all encompasses earth magic.
And she's like so what you'rethinking of is very narrow,
(34:47):
right?
You're thinking you should be aherbalist.
You're like that's what you'rethinking yeah.
And I'm like yeah, that is whatI'm thinking, um, and she goes
that's not it at all, it's sobroad.
And she goes and I said okay,I'm like I got that perfect gray
.
It's broad, but where is it?
And she goes what do you mean?
Where is it?
I said where is it in me, likeI.
And she goes, she goes, you'realready.
(35:09):
She's like your guides aresaying you're already living it,
you're already doing it.
And I'm like what?
And she's like yeah, you're,you're already doing it.
And I'm like how?
Speaker 2 (35:20):
I need more, I know.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
I'm like so, um, come
on, guys, yeah, so she.
So she said, she said what'sinteresting is part of earth
magic and part of your magic ispatterns, the patterns of the
universe.
And she goes.
And you we've already talkedabout you have a connection with
patterns, that you have a mindfor patterns.
So you, she goes, you observethese patterns around you and
(35:48):
then you make people's livesbetter, and she goes on.
I'm not even talking about justin your job, because we've
already talked about that, butshe's like, but that is an
important piece you will beobserving patterns and utilizing
patterns and your career is notgoing to be what it is today.
You're going to innovate basedon what you've learned, and
(36:09):
she's like and you need the oldfashioned way that your boss is
doing things in order to learnwhat you need to know, to go
this new, innovative way.
And I, so I said, well, what doyou see?
I was like, like I said, I'vealways thought maybe I would use
my career to help, you know, tospecialize in minorities and
(36:31):
women owned businesses and youknow things like that.
And she goes, she goes, yeah, she goes.
I see it more of like seminarson the things that you've
learned and observed and I'mlike, huh, no, that doesn't
sound fun.
And she goes.
She goes no, I do.
She's like I see you talking infront of people and I'm like,
(36:51):
yeah, you know, she's like shekind of laughed and she's like
she's like I see it, like it's,it's there, and I'm like, okay,
all right, whatever.
Um, you know, she said, butagain, not just in your career,
in your relationships and shegoes do you observe, are you an
observer?
And I said, absolutely Likethat's what I do.
I sit, I observe and then likeI can see things in a way that
people don't always see themRight, and so then, and she goes
(37:19):
, your guides are also tellingme that you have a way of
speaking to people, to make themunderstand, just like help them
see.
And I said I don't know, and shegoes.
She was like, okay, you know, and I'm just like, but I'm, I'm
still crying at this point andum, and she's like that's what
they're telling me.
So she's like what you aresupposed to, what you are doing,
is you are going to observepatterns in your relationships
and other people in the universe, in business, and you are going
(37:39):
to use those to transform theworld.
You're going to use those totransform your world and that's
your magic.
And I was just, I sat there andI was just like that all makes
perfect sense, Like it all makesperfect sense to me, um.
And then she went in and shesaid you know, the other thing
is that earth magic is Venusianenergy, so Venus's energy.
(38:02):
And so she started talkingabout Venusian energy, which I
don't know a lot about, right,so, again, like I was like, okay
, well, now I need to goresearch all of this, um.
But you know, like, like it canbe a person's values, you know
like, and she's like it's a verystrong feminine energy, is what
it is.
So, yeah, so we go through allof that.
And then, you know, I asked acouple more questions about the
(38:23):
kids, which she gets spot on ornot.
She doesn't get spot on, but itwas very informative.
And I was like, yep, okay, Isee that, I see that, I see that
, um, we were in there.
I would say probably an hour anda half, wow.
And at the end of the session Ican stand up and I'm like, can
(38:44):
I just give you, like, a hug?
She's like, yes, so I give hera giant hug.
And she's like listen to me.
She goes I actually want youradvice when you're ready to give
it.
I have some financial questions.
And she gives me her businesscard and I was like okay, I was
like all right.
So I left her office and theother two women were downstairs
(39:06):
waiting for me and I walked overthere like they were sitting on
a table.
I felt so light and so alignedand so full of energy.
It was exactly what I needed tohear.
And one of the women was likewhat happened in your reading?
You just look different.
(39:27):
And I just like spilled it allLike and you know, they don't
again they don't know me, but Itold them every little detail
and then it was like the rest ofthe trip was just, it was.
I was just aligned, I was.
It was just fantastic and itwas.
I knew what I needed to do, Iknew who I was, I wasn't missing
anything, I wasn't being tooskeptical, I wasn't closed off,
(39:50):
I just.
I just didn't realize that itcould look so different, right,
like I thought it had to look acertain way, um and so it was as
magical, as everyone has said, and as healing, as people have
said.
Um, and I cannot wait to goback.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
So yeah Well, I think
it was Morgan Stark who said
that Sedona calls you, like whenyou're ready to go, when you
need to go, it calls you in, itdraws you in, so everybody gets
out of it what they need in thatmoment.
So I am so happy for you thatmoment.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
So I am so happy for
you.
Yes, yeah, thank you forsharing that with us.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
That was just
beautiful.
Yeah, it was amazing.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
I'm waiting for my
invitation.
Sedona Right, send your message.
I'm due.
I'm next.
I'm next.
Tell me when I'm supposed to go, but you know, I'm also
preferably when it's not 120.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
I'm really proud of
you, Christy, for stepping out
of your comfort zone and likeyour comfort zone, with
everything and just like yeah itwas with everything.
Yeah, you know, and you reallyjust leaned into it, and so that
is that is amazing, becausewhen you do that, then you open
it up to receive exactly what itis that you need.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Yeah, I was going to
say that, oh, go ahead, christy.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
I don't think I would
have been able to do this a
couple of years ago, like Idon't think I was ready, you
know, even a few years ago, toput myself out there like that.
So again, it happened at theright time and you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
When we allow
ourselves to be truly open and
vulnerable.
And we ask for those messagesbecause we say this all the time
right, we ask for messages.
The universe is sending them tous when we need them, but we
have to be willing to ask themand see them, yeah, and
sometimes they're shoved in ourfaces and we still don't see it.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
And we're like
where's the sign.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
I need a sign.
Still don't see it and you'relike where's the sign?
And the universe is like jeez,it's like right here, here's a
fucking billboard yeah, well, you just pay attention please.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Here's a toad like
just.
I mean, there's a toad croakingin your ear like come on hard.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
And then there was a
toad in the actual room like,
come on, the signs don't getbetter than that.
So and then the glands likethat stuff.
That was really cool.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Oh, and so like I
looked that up, because that
also happened when we were doingthe drum circle and the
clearing like it was, ithappened again and so I was like
that's really weird.
I looked it up and there's sometheories that say that's when
your body gets out of the flightor fight, okay, and like,
actually like, truly like, releases energy, and so that's
(42:32):
that's what I've had on theinterwebs, so I'm not sure if
that's right, Like when you dropyour guard.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
you're just dropping
your guard and you're just but.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
I could feel that too
, like when we came out of the
sound bath, like definitely Ifelt lighter, like I just felt
better.
So I wouldn't be surprised ifthat's part of it.
Right, like just your bodymoving out of that.
You know chaos, um, and I waslike, well, I didn't think I was
in fight or fight, but like, aswomen were, like we never know,
we're just like we'reconstantly in it.
(43:03):
Um, so do like, aren't?
Speaker 2 (43:04):
we always do this or
that.
It was one or the other.
Yeah, yeah, amazing story, christy, thank you, thank, you
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
Yeah, well, and thank
you to our listeners for
listening.
Um, we will be back next week, but in the meantime, you can go
to WMF podcom and you caninteract with us and search for
past episodes, and we will seeyou next time.
Bye, thank you.
