In my first ever blog post I shared my personal struggles with my father's mental health issues when I was growing up. This was a time in Uganda where there was not much in the way of mental health services. What made this harder was the stigma associated with mental health issues in many African communities.
Things have moved in since I was a child and there is a better understanding of mental health issues. However, I feel we still have a long way to go.
So I was keen to have a guest on the podcast who is both African and a psychotherapist to share their views on mental health in African families.
