Join us for grand rounds this week where Dr. Anahi Perlas, an anesthesiologist and director of the perioperative POCUS fellowship at Toronto Western Hospital, discusses the use of gastric POCUS to guide patient care.
Dr. Perlas is a professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine at the University of Toronto. She is also the Director of Research and Director of the Perioperative POCUS Fellowship Program at the Department of Anesthesia, Toronto Western Hospital, in Ontario. She has been developing gastric POCUS since 2008 and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed original articles on the areas of regional anesthesia and point-of-care ultrasound. Additionally, she is the executive editor of the Journal of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and is a founding and current member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists Editorial Board on point-of-care ultrasounds that oversees the ASA Certificate of Completion in POCUS.
