Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know these people
.
Yeah, here's the funniest thingthey're the people most people
are intimidated to talk to.
And I'm telling you you need totalk to those people.
I'm telling you you need tocreate a list of the sharpest,
most motivated humans.
You know, because if youcontinue to just hang out with
(00:20):
the people that you'recomfortable with, you will begin
to conform.
I mean, you begin to shapeyourself into their image that
they have of you.
You begin to reduce yourself tofit into their social circle.
But the moment you start tomake a list of the most
(00:42):
successful people, you know it'sa motivator to get better.
Just you writing their namesdown creates a motivation to get
better.
If you actually took time tolearn about how incredible you
were, nothing would ever stopyou.
Your life and my life is goingto be a complete reflection of
(01:02):
the people in it.
Right, that's it.
You can have all the best ideasin the world.
You can have all the greatestmotivation in the world.
But if you have the right namesand numbers in your cell phone
or you're connected to the rightpeople, great things are going
to happen, no matter what.
That's just a fact.
And so for you and I, lookingat what we do.
You have to think to yourselfif I'm going to go into business
(01:25):
, who do I want to go intobusiness with?
Do I want to go into businesswith people that are energy
draining, vampiric, life suckinghumans, or do I want to go into
business with people that areinspiring me, they're motivating
me, they're making me want tobe better, they're making me
want to step up my game?
You see, being in business withthe right people is like being
(01:49):
on an ocean with sails and amotor, and you're anchored down
because they're going to suckthe energy out of your body, the
marrow out of your bones.
(02:09):
This is a lesson I had to learnthe hard way.
I had to learn the hard way.
I had to learn the hard way.
For years, I struggled in mydevelopment because I was making
my business a charitable effort.
I thought to myself oh, he orshe needs an opportunity, of
course, of course, they're goingto see this business.
(02:30):
Or, oh no, they need somethingright now.
They need to make more money,of course, of course, of course,
they're going to see it.
I was wrong.
I was totally wrong.
I was completely wrong and Iwas more motivated for other
people than they were forthemselves, and I couldn't
understand why it was that I wasso excited to be an
entrepreneur, even if it waspart-time, and I love the fact
(02:52):
that I could be a collaborativeentrepreneur.
That blew me away, that I couldbe an entrepreneur not by
myself.
I could be an entrepreneur withpeople being entrepreneurs with
me and we could grow somethingtogether.
Collaborative entrepreneurship Inever even thought of that
phrase, but I fell in love withthe concept.
But what I made the mistake indoing was I didn't ask myself
(03:14):
did the people that I wasworking with want what I wanted
as much as?
Should I say it like this Didthe people I was working with
want what I wanted the way thatI thought that they should want?
It, meaning I wanted to have achance to be free.
I wanna have a chance to changemy life, and I thought that
they'd want the same thing, thatthey wanted to change their
(03:35):
lives, that they'd wanna be free, they'd wanna have tremendous
financial options.
But then I discovered that whenit came time to actually doing
the work, man, they disappearedso fast.
They were out.
And I'm like wait a minute.
You just said you wanted toretire your wife.
You just said you wanted tohave the ability to take care of
your husband.
(03:56):
You just said you wanted to beable to provide and put your
kids in a better educationalsystem.
You said this to me, but whenit came time to actually doing
the thing, they disappeared.
Now, why am I having thisconversation?
It's because I'm telling youyou should never look at what
people say.
You should 100% focus in onwhat people are doing.
(04:20):
Are there words and are thereactions and alignment?
Aligned words and actionscreate amazing results.
When you have someone who'sspeaking something and then
doing the complete opposite ofwhat they're speaking, it
creates total incongruence,total incongruence.
So here you are.
You are let's say you're abusiness owner, which you are.
(04:42):
Let's say that you are, uh,maybe a new business owner or a
very successful business owneralready.
Whatever you've done, you'veachieved what you've achieved
because you had the right peoplearound you, and some people
could have all.
They could have had all thesuccess in the world if they
would have had great peoplearound them, but they didn't.
(05:04):
They chose people that theyfelt comfortable with.
They chose people that theyfelt comfortable with.
If the people that you feelcomfortable with are not moving
you forward, why are you withthem, at least when it comes to
business.
They could be great familypeople.
They could be great husbands, wives, but that doesn't mean
that your husband is going to bea great business partner in
(05:27):
growing your business.
If that person is notentrepreneurial, they'll
probably hold you back.
That doesn't mean you shouldget divorced.
What that does mean is that, when it comes to your business,
you should get your coachingfrom people with whom you want
to be successful with in thatparticular business, let's say,
in this particular business.
I'm hoping this is making sensebecause this is really important
(05:49):
because it aligns with so much.
It aligns with not just thework that you do.
It aligns with the joy you willexperience in the work that you
do.
One of the things that is veryhard is working with people that
do not want to do the work.
What I just, and then what Ijust said, sounds so simple, but
(06:11):
I need you to understand whatis really hard in any endeavor.
It doesn't matter what theendeavor is is working on a
project with people who don'twant to work on a project,
because even if they do it, theydo it with not great energy.
I saw the opportunity.
I'm working in pharmaceuticalsales and I see an opportunity
(06:36):
to work for myself and I'mexcited about that.
I see an opportunity.
I believed it was going tochange my life and it did.
I believed that I could getbetter and I needed to go and
learn how to get better, and Isurrounded myself.
I wanted to go and learn how toget better and I surrounded
myself.
I wanted to know who the mostsuccessful people were in the
company, because I wanted togrow, I wanted to learn.
(06:58):
I would drive, man.
Let me tell you something.
I remember driving seven hoursto go to one event.
So I had to leave work andthere was an event that was
taking place in Northern part ofConnecticut and I was living in
Maryland and I and I rememberdriving seven hours with traffic
(07:22):
.
I was in truck cause it wascrazy, but anyway, I remember
leaving at noon.
I remember leaving at noon.
I left at noon to be able tomake it there by 8 pm because I
assumed I was going to hit someform of traffic.
Okay, and I'm in the car, driving myself, thinking to
myself this is crazy what I'mdoing.
(07:44):
I'm driving by myself in thiscar for seven hours to go and
listen to someone speak about mybusiness and I don't know what
it was, but in that moment Iknew I was going to break
through.
Why?
Because I wanted it so badlyand I was willing to do whatever
(08:05):
it took.
See, I didn't just say I wantedit so badly.
I got in the car and droveseven hours by myself to get the
information.
And there are people wired likethis.
There are people, there arepeople you all.
There are people wired likethis.
They're willing to do whateverthey have to do, go wherever
(08:26):
they have to go, to get whateverthey need to get in order to
get the results, to have thelife they want to live.
There are people like this.
Now, they're not common.
They're not common.
That's the truth.
But they're out there, and thefact that they're out there
means that your role is to findthem.
That's your role, that's yourgreat mission in life, and the
best way to find them is to findpeople that have already proven
(08:50):
that they're willing to dowhatever it takes.
It is a fact that your historyis usually a great indicator of
future performance.
Why do you think credit is sucha big deal?
Why do you think banks usecredit?
Well, if you're ultra wealthy, credit doesn't matter, but for
the more normal person.
Your credit score is anindicator to people who don't
(09:11):
know you on how you managecertain affairs Well, at least
when it comes to money.
They don't know you Well.
We believe there is somethingcalled a social credit system.
There are some people whoselives have already proven that
they are achievers.
They're doers, they've openedup businesses with no help,
they've worked two jobs andthey're in school.
(09:33):
They're people that havealready shown you that they have
an above and beyond mentality.
They already have shown youthis.
You already know it.
You already know who they are.
They get up earlier than you.
They stay longer than you.
They stay longer than you.
They work harder than you.
They've gone from nothing tovery successful.
(09:55):
They're influencers, they'rego-getters.
You know these people.
Yeah, here's the funniest thingthey're the people most people
are intimidated to talk to.
And I'm telling you you need totalk to those people.
I'm telling you you need tocreate a list of the sharpest,
most motivated humans.
You know, because if youcontinue to just hang out with
(10:19):
the people that you'recomfortable with, you will begin
to conform.
I mean, you begin to shapeyourself into their image that
they have of you.
You begin to reduce yourself tofit into their social circle.
But the moment you start tomake a list of the most
(10:40):
successful people, you know it'sa motivator to get better.
Just you writing their namesdown creates a motivation to get
better.
Let me give you an example.
Have you ever been to someone'shouse that was really nice.
Didn't it motivate you to wantto get a better house?
I mean, whether you did ordidn't, didn't you get motivated
to go and at least clean yourhouse?
(11:01):
It did right.
When you have someone you knowthat gets a nicer car, doesn't
it kind of motivate you to wantto get a nicer car If your car
has got three wheels and nosteering wheel, aren't you more
motivated when you get a nicecar to get a better car?
You are right, you are becauseyou are around something that's
the next level.
When you put yourself in theposition of people who are
(11:24):
already operating life at thenext level meaning they've
already done something, meaningthat they're playing the game of
life at a high level then youfundamentally will want to get
better.
And why am I having thisconversation with you today?
Well, it's really simplebecause the names on that list
(11:47):
is a doorway to a new life.
That's why the names that youput down are a doorway to a new
life.
I'm telling you right now, itis the moment you start to
elevate the people you choose todo business with you by the
virtue of the momentum that getscreated in association, you're
going to have a different level.
You're going to have adifferent level.
(12:08):
I promise you.
You can think that you listento me.
You're going to have adifferent level.
I started my business and I wasrunning a charitable network.
No one had any money, no onehad any motivation.
I'm trying to come on, you gotto go.
Come on, let's go, let's go,let's go.
(12:30):
I'm trying to pump everyone up.
And there was a balloon with asmall hole in it, and the moment
they got excited is as fast asthe air came out.
Because they had no discipline, they had no work ethic, and I'm
thinking, oh, this is, I'mgoing to give you that.
You don't give anybody anything.
People are who they choose tobe.
And so the moment I startedwriting a list called my
superstar, my all-star, thegreat people list.
Oh, my Lord, everything changed, everything changed, everything
(12:54):
changed.
Let me tell you something Ifthe meeting was at six, they
were there at 5.55.
Why they respect time, if theysaid they'd call me back, they
actually call me back, why theyhave personal integrity if they.
If they said I'm gonna do it,they did it.
They did it on the day theysaid they're gonna do it.
And I began to realize what ingod's name was I doing working
(13:16):
with these other knuckle heads.
These people are costing me myfreedom, my, my time, my energy.
It was draining, draining, butthen you get with the right
people and it is oxygen to yourlungs, it is a wind to your sail
.
The right people, people thathave personal discipline.
They have to fall in thecategory of the whipless W-H-I-P
(13:39):
?
W work ethic.
Who you know has work ethic?
Write them down.
Who do you know that is notafraid to work?
They believe in work, workethic, work ethic.
W age hunger.
They have a hunger.
They're not satisfied.
Think about it.
You have a person like ElonMusk, worth the richest man in
the world, and he's still notsatisfied.
And then, uncle Charlie, youcall Uncle Charlie off from an
(14:00):
opportunity where you say, uncleCharlie, let's do this, oh,
I've got too much on my plate.
There's nothing on your platebut bones.
And you're telling me you'vegot too much on your plate?
You've got an empty plate, uncle Charlie.
What are you doing?
Can't motivate theunmotivatable.
Some people just have a hungerfor more.
They want to just keep growing.
They want to keep expanding.
(14:23):
They're not satisfied withstatus quo.
They have to have an H hunger I.
They have to have integrity.
People who do what they saythey're going to do.
How do you do business withpeople who won't do what they
say they're going to do?
How do you do business withthese people?
I don't know.
You just hope.
Hope is not a financialstrategy.
If you work with people and youhave to hope, are they going to
(14:46):
do what they say they're goingto do?
You're working with the wrongpeople.
Go find new people and P theyhave personal power.
When they make a call, peoplerespond, people show up, people
want to come and be a part of it.
These are people that you wantto work with.
They have WHIP, whiplistist.
Who is on your whiplist?
(15:07):
Because if they're on yourwhiplist and you keep adding
names, you should literally havea category w, category h,
category I, category, p,category and you should have the
names written down on the lefthand side.
You should have whip across thetop and then names written on
the left-hand side.
And so let me give you anexample Jennifer, does she have
(15:28):
work ethic?
Yep.
Is she hungry?
Motivated?
Yep.
Does she have integrity?
Nope, well, she didn't make itthrough the list, she only made
half the list.
Jennifer, oh Lord, please getbetter.
John, does he have work ethic?
Yep.
Does, oh Lord, please getbetter?
John.
Does he have work ethic?
Yep.
Does he have hunger?
Motivated?
Yep.
Does he have integrity?
Yep.
(15:48):
Does he have personal power?
Yep, john, made it all the wayacross.
You see, the more people youhave on your whiplist that make
it all the way across, those areyour business partners.
He's saying something today.
The more people you have onyour whipless, those are your
business partners.
Who's on your whipless?
(16:10):
You need to write them downimmediately, because those are
the people that are going towork with you.
To take everything to anotherlevel.
If you actually took time tolearn about how incredible you
were, nothing would ever stop.
You See, the definition ofsight is the faculty or power of
seeing.
