(00:02):
321 we're. Back, everybody.
Welcome back. Welcome in What are we up to
Episode 90? 6/6.
Welcoming everybody. And the year.
Was 1985. That's right, it was 85.
It was just get a little bit of big wreck in, coming in with
(00:25):
some big wreck. Getting a little big wreck in.
Yeah, coming in hot with the little big wreck.
That's right, boys are coming totown soon.
If you're local grain, check them out better than Fred.
'S and all across Canada as well.
Little Tour. You're doing smalls and bigs
venues, so we'll come and check it out.
Boys are amazing, especially check out in a small venue.
(00:48):
Amazing. You're in for treat.
Your freaking treat. That's kind of a kind of a cool,
cool thing to do. Some do some shows in a smaller
club and then then the big gigs as well, right?
Yeah, I mean, I think it's good warm up too.
Like it kind of breaks it up a bit.
I think if you're doing like a stadium you kind of show or a
theatre type show and you get todo a bar show, you know, kind of
breaks it up a little bit, gets some different people, different
(01:10):
types in the bar. Shows are a little more wild by
comparison. Generally speaking anyway.
I mean, it's been on the bar I guess, but generally speaking to
get a little more. Crazy.
You know, more crazy. So like that.
So yeah, I'm excited about my ticket.
I'm gonna be. There up and personal, up close
and personal. Yeah, I'm going to attempt to
steal Ian Thornley's pedal board.
(01:32):
Yeah. Sorry Ian, but.
Incriminating evidence. Well.
I'd like to just get a pick or. Something yeah, like get a pick
though, but yeah, no, it's I don't know, I think I can't help
myself. I have to go look at the pedal
board to look at the. Ants.
Yeah, staring down the guitar. Yes, Sir.
What do you got there down there?
(01:52):
Staring the gear down figure. Always had that gear head Yeah
buddy, when you get there in your.
Hand Irish cricket. Irish crickets, ladies and
gentlemen, he's back. Snap Cheers, my friend to
another episode of the Pond. As always, everybody come check
us out on YouTube, Spotify, follow us on Instagram, check us
(02:16):
out everywhere, everywhere, coming at your weekly, every
week, generally speaking. Anywhere you can get your
podcast? Yeah, yeah.
Coming in, coming in hot every Wednesday.
Generally speaking, most Wednesdays to be fair, like 99%.
Of them but Wednesdays. Most Wednesdays.
Check them out every at. Least once a week.
Yeah, once a week, once a week, twice a week. 3 * a week.
(02:38):
So yeah, so we were coming in hot with some big wreck.
We were talking a little bit of the Canadian rock scene.
Yeah, so we were having a littlechat beforehand, so we figured
we would maybe delve into, well,we'll probably start in our
territory in the 90s, generally speaking, but we'll probably
(03:00):
veer off and get some deep 70s rock'n'roll hits and a few other
ditties in there, even maybe some classic pop tunes that you
didn't quite realize, or even pop tunes from Canada.
So we're going to do a little quick Diddy here tonight, listen
to some tunes. It's going to be a fun episode.
Well, we want to start here since we started off with a
little bit of Big Wreck. Do we?
(03:21):
Do we take him to Canada's gym? Take him to the.
Top Take him to the top right atthe gate.
The Mount Rushmore of Canadian. Canadian.
Canadian classic, Canadian rock kind of thing.
Yeah, I mean, if you can't, I mean, not talk about the top, at
least top three Canadian artistsof all time, The Tragically Hip.
(03:44):
Come on. Yeah, I mean.
We did a whole episode on them. Yeah, Before SO.
Yeah, we did a deep dive after the documentary came out, yes.
So yeah, I mean, if you haven't listened, you should.
Number one, if you're not from Canada and you're listening,
check out The Tragically Hip. Just go to the popular songs,
(04:08):
hit play and you'll enjoy everything here more than likely
I would imagine. So let's see here this evening.
What do we want to get to? How far do we want to go back
here? We'll start.
We'll start in the 90s. Maybe we'll go deep here, see
what albums they've got on Spotify.
Do we go to Phantom Power? Do we go Rd.
Apples fully? Completely.
I mean, you can't really go wrong anywhere.
(04:30):
Let's see here. The song What's that pigeon
camera? That's a deep cut and I kind of
like that. It's a song that I.
Deep cut the people. Here, song cut.
It's a song that I had listened to just yesterday or today in
the vehicle because I put the album in, just recorded some
hard drive or whatever. This is a good song.
(04:50):
This is a good thing. Beauty.
Yeah, that's the thing to do. There's a ton of tunes that
aren't on the radio that are really good, Like really good,
and this is one of them. I noticed song I've.
Heard pigeon camera right? I mean, the name definitely
catches you like wow, but the song actually rips, as do Most
(05:12):
Tragically Hip too. Pretty much.
In my opinion, pretty much all of them really.
And yeah, but I don't like if itwas weird for me because I only
kind of like, I didn't really get into the hip until kind of a
little bit later. Like I just.
Tell you were more mature I. Mean, I guess, yeah, I suppose,
but I don't know if that's the right answer, but I don't know.
(05:34):
It was just like, I don't know in through high school until
like a graduated high school. I just it's not that I didn't
like them necessarily. I mean I like the radio songs
and watching the videos and all that stuff, but I just never.
No. Got into it or something, like I
don't know how to even explain it.
Like it's not even like a bad thing.
It's not like, oh, I hate it or yeah, I don't know how to
explain it, man. I don't know.
It just wasn't on my radar I guess or something.
(05:55):
Well, I think it just maybe for us too.
It was a band that was a little bit before our time.
They came out, you know. I mean, you know, when we were
just a little babies. But yeah, you know, we caught up
later, right? Of course we knew the hits.
We knew New Orleans is sync in. Yeah.
Then I think when Hit by the Entry came out, which was a new
(06:15):
song. Yeah.
At the time what, 99 I think went ahead by a century came
out. Ish kind of gave a, you know,
the new generation to kind of a a newer look and a little bit of
resurgence for hip. It did, yeah, for sure.
Like phantom power was. I found Phantom Power kind of
made me interested in it. And then I seen him live around
(06:39):
the same time and it was like like, OHT was really good.
And I like the live experience better because I like the kind
of Gord going off on the poetry rant and stuff like that kind of
stuff or whatever. So I was like, oh, that was that
was wicked. And then I was like, well, I
should listen and take it in or whatever, but I didn't even
understand how big of a deal they were.
Yes, in reality, right at that point even.
(06:59):
But yeah, now everybody kind of knows or whatever.
I'm gonna hit the title track. This is a good tune tune.
Can't. Can't.
Go wrong. Can't miss folks.
Can't miss Molly. Completely yes.
Completely, yeah, man, what a I mean there's tons of bangers.
Like there's haven't know how many albums, but there's tons of
bangers. But I played I like this one a
(07:20):
lot, like a kind of play this song a lot.
Like I like it, it's on a lot kind of thing.
I don't know why, but it's a very it's kind of different in a
way it is. It sounds just like Tragically
Hip, but it is a little bit different.
Yeah, I think I just love this song, how it can starts out like
he's just kind of like has thoselike, yeah, wait.
(07:40):
And you'll see like, like he really gives it to, you know,
you really yell. So he's got the kind of low and
then he's got just a full range of emotion that you can kind of
hear through through his voice. Right.
Yeah. And I, yeah, I don't know, I
kind of got really engorged, like in my like early, early
20s, like 21/20/21 kind of thing.
And I was like, man, hip or wicked.
(08:01):
And then the more I've seen him live of the more I became more
and more and more of a fan. Now I'm like, holy, they love to
hit. Like, I love the hip.
And now I understand the whole thing.
I get it. Like that kind of thing.
They're like, I don't even know they're yeah, I don't know.
Just a cool legacy, cool band. Seem like they're genuinely
genuine dues, you know what I mean?
Like, yeah, that's a big player in the whole thing too, so.
(08:24):
Yes, a friend of a friend of ours is a is a friend of Rob
Baker. Yeah, Rob Baker is.
Our friend Bill Belichick, 2 time podcasts on podcasts is a
great friend of Rob Baker and you know, he's had him in his
movie and stuff like that. And great guys from what I can
(08:47):
see, from what I can see, you know, and the great musicians
too. So it's good to give them a
little bit of we're gonna keep him alive for many more years to
come. Yeah, well, this won't be the
last you'll hear of it from us kind of thing.
Generally speaking, I don't imagine.
We'll have to mention two if we've ever seen any of these
bands live. So yeah, I think I didn't see
(09:09):
Tragically Hip until 2005, I think.
Probably not too. Probably two or three, two or
three years before, no. I seen them somewhere else
earlier than that when I was in high school.
Sam Fist or some festival or something, maybe, I don't know.
I seen him. It was outdoor thing.
I don't have like, you know, I seen him somewhere anyway.
(09:30):
But anyway, it was like 2000. Two other one, something like
that. Yeah, something.
Relative definitely never seen him in high school.
I never. Yeah, but I didn't see him again
till I was like 21 or something like that. 2021 would have.
Been hell yes. Hell yeah. #2.
Baby, what do you want to hit onhere?
(09:50):
What do you want to hire? Hit me up with your number two
hit #2 on the list. I can't, Our Lady Peace.
Are you kidding me? Just going.
Have we give them any? Yeah.
We haven't given them much love because I'm not that I'm not a
fan, this is not my point, but Ijust really don't listen to.
Them, I don't yeah, I don't listen to them either, but I
think they hold kind of a place in definitely in in 90s
(10:14):
Canadian. Rock.
Oh, yeah. Oh yeah.
Oh, I'm not sure if they, you know, I think they may be
transcended. Can't you know, I mean, they had
a big couple big hits and. They were.
They went pretty big. In the States, yeah, but not,
you know, not something that I no listen to, but I hold the
memory of some of the music, youknow, as a from a time growing
(10:36):
up, right so. I agree with that.
Yeah, they're nostalgic band like that.
To me, it says Astrologic Factoralmost more so than almost
anything else. Should we go all the way back to
Clumsy, the one record that everybody had in the record
collection when they were kids? This is short.
I think this is the one that definitely was the breakout for
sure. Yeah.
Yeah. Their second album, like Clumsy,
just absolutely exploded. Everybody had a copy of this
(11:00):
album. Everybody, everybody, everybody.
So let's see here. I like playing four gonna do
automatic flowers. Yeah, I love that one.
Great music video. Too little.
Superman's Dead is kinda the thebanger or whatever.
Well, the one. Yes, but definitely yeah, they
have a. This is my this is my favorite
(11:20):
song. Oh yeah, this album I think or
whatever, I don't know. And to be fair, now that I'm
almost 40, I cannot even utteredin these few songs.
I can't even remember the other one sound like.
Yeah, actually. And it's probably going to be
like hey shit man, some of this is pretty good.
I haven't heard in a long time, to be fair, because I haven't
either, right? So.
Not in like a listen to the album kind of way.
(11:42):
Yeah, I do know. You know, later in high school,
they had a couple of more hits too, from that Gravity album and
and, you know, they had a few, you know, they had some long,
they had like a string of albums.
They're still giving her like they're still making new music
and fight to give. Yeah, and I don't mean to like
talk about him as if they're done or whatever, but I mean.
(12:05):
But I know what you mean. Like I haven't listened.
I haven't listened to anything past whatever album this is on
this one. I guess this single for Innocent
is on this album is Zoom. Yeah, it is like somewhere out
there, Yeah. Yeah, those ones like Spiritual
Machines was pretty good, like Idon't mind that, but they
changed guitar players on this one I believe as well.
(12:30):
Yeah, they got mistaken that other fairly.
I remember when they went to SamFestival, they had the new, new
guitar player and I was like, oh, that's weird.
Like now this is another band I've probably seen probably more
than a lot of the out of this list.
Yeah, absolutely. I've seen him a couple times and
to be fair. 1/5 times I want to say to be fair, yeah.
That's pretty sick. Like the one of the best live
(12:51):
shows I seen was them rain climbed the fucking thing at
Sandfest and everything that wasnot that was off the handle
because it was him, them and David Usher and the hip.
Was it the hit? I'm pretty sure yeah.
Cause I think the hip were like either to closers order came
after before after David Usher. I can't remember now, but I'm
(13:15):
pretty sure that that was one ofthe times I seen him too.
To be fair. Right, Right, right.
Yeah, like this one got like oneman army, which is there smash.
Is anybody home for sure? Yeah, you know, and.
We're going to the e-mail from Rain from that place.
We're getting cut off now, yeah. But that's OK.
(13:38):
Spotify LEXIS, God bless your soul.
Bless you, bless you, bless everyone listening.
Anyone who's listened, we love you man.
Come. Out every time.
We love you, we love you. Thank you so much.
So let's see here, shall we? What's your, what do you think
is number 3 here? We're just going to hit the list
or should we? Are we?
Picking up. OK, well we can select.
(13:59):
Let's do a little select here. Yeah, you're up on the
selection, You're up on the draft.
So I'm on the draft. Pick you're Canadian draft.
OK, so we're half on to that now.
We can remember it. We'll stay to it.
You know we're not gonna. Remember, I'm gonna take, I'm
gonna take a OK, this is the whole list.
I'm gonna peruse from here now. So I think my next pick on the
(14:20):
list of serious, serious banger them is going to be I'm going,
I'm going to pick Tea Party. Oh yeah.
Great. I think I'm gonna pick Tea
Party. I think I'm gonna pick the Tea
Party. That's where I'm at.
Great pick. I seen them at the same festival
as well. Yes, yes, I've seen them a few
times. I think I've seen them a couple
(14:40):
other times since, but I just can't recall.
I would love to see them at a bar again.
I really enjoyed it in the bar when I see him.
I was sick quite like that. Also, yeah, they've played
better than Fred's here in GrandPrairie, Alberta, and up close
and personal. But at the theatre.
Yeah. So let's see here now.
So I have a weird thing with these guys because I really
(15:02):
like, um, the Seven Circles album, but it's a little bit
later. But it came out like just as we
graduated. I really liked that, right?
But I mean, technically what gotme into it is the earlier stuff.
So I don't know. Where do you, where should we go
here? Let's see where shall we go here
on this one the. Third album there.
(15:24):
This one. Yes, you can't blend or soils.
Soils Reading. So what are you?
What are you into here? What's the banger you wanna hear
on this one? Can't the river?
I can't see that from. Here.
So we got the River Midsummer Day, a certain plant of light,
(15:45):
winter solace save me. Sun going down in this time.
Dreams of reason. I love winter solace, that one.
I think that's a banger, but like it's a slower coustic
banger. I'm.
Pretty sure all bangers, yeah, but I'd like that.
Like that's the Zeppelin part ofit in my.
Life, yes, well, this, this is definitely.
(16:07):
Influenced or. Whatever influenced by bad ass.
Yeah, the tunings are sick. That's right.
I like, yeah, he's always had a different sound, different
instruments and stuff. Yeah, and they've always been
the same band. It's like, yeah, they're sick,
man. Actually, does the drummer
change in the first album? I think but but still always
(16:31):
bangers, always bangers and likesuper good musicianship and you
got to always remember dude plays the riff and is singing
the song. That's the other thing you gotta
remember. A lot of the times you think
it's like a four piece or whatever you want to say.
It's not. It's not at all.
Yeah, what are what other ones we got?
At the river. This is a banger.
(16:52):
Yeah. But remember the song Babylon
too? Like that was a real sketchy
song, hey. There's a couple.
Not sketchy, but like this is insane.
And of course, like damn days. Yeah, that was the original and
a little bit of doors, Eh? You can hear the.
Doors, yeah. For sure.
(17:12):
Like listen to that. I'm just gonna play that for a
second now while we because thisis the old ah, like sick.
Ohhhhh yeah. And then it does this Graham is
there is a wicked. This is technically a wicked
song. Sick.
(17:34):
Yeah, that's about you too. But transmit this is the
original this is the original this I remember this like much
music. All the time.
Yeah, all the time. And the video in the thing with
all the like in the catacombs orwhatever.
It is. You can't really.
Range quite remember it now but I remember it being weird and
(17:54):
being like. Zoom out and like zooming in.
It's like, what's going on here? But videos were narrowly then
man early 90s like like, you know, think of Marilyn Manson
videos and their videos on weirdlike what people had all.
Kinds of show. Don't show, Yeah.
Believe it temptation. Big old intros loves it.
(18:19):
Just it just loves it. Yeah, this is epic intro, Yeah.
It's like going down. Yeah, there you.
Go. It happens every now and then.
This is technically live Podcastlive.
Live on and the year was 1985. We have the Tea Party, we have
(18:40):
company. Party coming in.
Temptation. What a banger.
But yeah, this is this is a nostalgic song too.
Like, reminds me of early days. Watch much music Saturday
morning, stuff like that. What else is honest with the
other this one? No, this is not it.
I want to see if I can find one more thing.
So we talked about 7 Circles albums.
I wanna talk about that, I guess.
(19:02):
Might as well I've. Been here a little bit here
later, yeah. So this is a little bit later
2004, right? Yeah, we can we go.
Writings on the wall. So there's a.
Few. I don't know that was a single.
Yeah, there's a lot of good songs on this.
So Oceans is really good. Coming back again is really,
really good. I'll give you a little more.
(19:28):
Yeah. Mega riffs, Banga riffs.
Everything's awesome. This this is a really good
album, though. This is really like from front
to back. It's super, super good.
Jesus reminded me of another song then for a second, but I
can't picture it. Yeah, I know what you mean by I
don't. Yeah, I don't know what song it
is anymore. I like to.
(19:48):
This is a good song to actually come back again.
This fucking got a big old go. He's got a big old intro, big
drum intro, but it's got the can't.
Yeah, got this attire. Classic.
Classic sound. Then it does this and that's.
A Really, it's a riff. So riffing 1/2.
(20:13):
That's not the like about that, like Bang or wrist Man.
So good, so good. Cool tunings, all kinds of cool
stuff. Tea Party.
Yeah, check them out. Always a pleasure.
Always a pleasure to have you have them playing in my ears.
I like. It to the Air Souls.
There's too many songs. We could keep going on Tea
(20:35):
Party. All that's the thing.
Tea Party is like super. Extensive.
Yeah, same on a big rec level ofmusicianship and stuff like
that, you know? Great, great pick.
It's like you're like your second overall pick.
Yeah, I love Tea Party. I'm a I'm a huge.
Team for your Canadian Rock team.
(20:55):
We're doing early. This will be taking in the early
90s category. That's right.
You got up next to Ryan. Do you know what do you think?
Do I want next on the on the from my?
Track Do you want my draft? Next year, Oh my Lord, you know
what? I'm going Age of electric one of
my personal. Favorites.
I know you're a huge. Huge fan of the Dull Brothers
(21:18):
and Todd Kearns singer And they're from Winnipeg, yeah.
And excellent, excellent. Well, two bunch of.
Things the van, Yeah, Stevens sketchy one, sorry.
Sorry. My bad guys, I don't know why, I
said, but I think they might have moved to Winnipeg.
I have no idea, but you know what?
(21:38):
You know more than I do. We're not gonna hold that
against it, but they had a greatcouple great hits in the 90s.
Yeah man, couple more control inGod damn it leaving me here now
but. Yeah, that's on.
Hold on looking remote control. I don't mind is my favorite one.
(21:59):
Yeah. Yeah, see, I never like I've
listened to this a lot, but not at the same time.
I can't have this recently, I'llput it that way.
No, this. So this.
One, I mean, yeah, this one has been on much music, fucking
CD's, yeah, and compilations andshit, but.
Big shiny. Dunes.
Big shiny tuners. Big shiny tunes dues.
(22:20):
And yeah, so I don't mind is wasprobably one of my probably my
favorite song, Yeah. And we're still working on.
Getting the box. Getting one of them on here, but
yeah. That's for the new year, my
friend. That's a little potential
sneaker peeky. Get yourself out.
(22:44):
Look at, look at the screen, andall of a sudden you're on the
camera. It's like, oh, hey, that's my
face. That's my face.
It's yeah audio and video here folks on Spotify and YouTube.
Follow the YouTube channel. Don't forget.
But so this is my this is my second overall pick on the
(23:06):
Canadian 90s edition Rock draft and I'm your GM, Ryan from the
and here from. 1985. And you're going down, brother,
over here. You want me to see what else
would we have on our list? Let's see, let's see.
I think I'm going to go with formy where we have third pick
(23:30):
here. So I'm going to say I think I'm
going to go by Mother. Earth, OH.
Yeah, because I mean, why can't you go on?
Yeah, so also gotta get some tickets for that.
You gotta go brother, gotta go II definitely do gotta go.
Ohhhhh. Yeah.
Because I'm a big fan of our Mother Earth.
Big, big frame. So do you have a preference?
(23:54):
Are you enabled? Are you an Edwin guy?
Are you Brian Byrne guy? Do you carry?
Well, I've always been a sceneryin fish.
Scenery fish guy. Yeah.
I mean, that's that. That's the album that got me
into him for sure, so. We'll throw it all the way
because I think this is also another album that everybody had
(24:14):
in their Everybody Man. This is a Columbia House Special
Care Guaranteed and there's a lot of good songs on this like
this is a front to back album. If you if you really want it to
be, see here. Let's see here what's on this
one. So this is the bang like this is
the radio play song. We're one of them is 2 on this I
(24:36):
guess take. OHP.
But they're gonna, they flag. They flag real, real quick.
Well, we're already flagged. It doesn't even matter.
That's right, we're gonna give like football over here.
Sir, didn't be touch football over here.
I don't know the reference there, but.
(24:56):
We'll go. Well, when is this bought out?
Next week. Next week, boilers in the
Stanley Cup finals, folks. Yeah, let's go be boilers.
Let's go. It'll come out the day of.
Actually, it'll be a day. Out.
Yeah, yeah. Alright, let's go Tonight.
Or this are winning tonight. Fucking Florida.
Alright, alright. We're back.
We're back. We're back.
We're back. Got it.
(25:17):
But yeah, we did watch the previous game, so that was a
good game. Was one nice.
Yeah, so just had to throw that in there.
But we're back on the pod with our Mother Earth.
One more astronaut. Yeah, so this is the radial
banger. Of course, you know, this has
been coming on since I was a kid.
I could sing this word for word, note for note for past 20 years
(25:38):
even. You know what I mean?
Like we've, I've listened because it was on big shiny
tunes. Um, I own the album because
everybody wanted it. And music video was nonstop.
Music videos non-stop. And then there was a huge
controversy when Edwin left. So it kind of made it a little
bit of it, made it more in the meta kind of thing, right?
(25:59):
So, so like, yeah, there's that, right?
So then you got this and then like Raspberry is like this.
Is, but I don't know, do you think they'll have like a new
set list? Because I've been looking up on
setlist.fmorsetlist.com but I can't remember what it is.
Yeah, set lists only like 8/8 to10/8 songs, 8:00-ish songs 8. 10
(26:26):
is a couple of jams in there, sohold.
On James fully, they'll get a little bit more and then you
know, Matt go to get his little piece.
Yeah, well, he'll have his. He'll have his all whole.
Piece whatever that looks like, hour, hour and 20 minutes or
whatever. Give my mother of the piece,
Matt. Yes, but give him 21 minutes.
Two more songs. Three more songs.
Three more songs. And this is a banger.
(26:50):
Three more songs. So then I'll do a comparison
because you wanna hear the otherside.
You gotta hear hear the. Old, SO my favorite of all time.
Wow is. This song this is my.
Favorite Ohe yeah, now that's throwing it down.
Yeah, this is my favorite. I mother Rosanna and it's
nothing to do with Brian anything.
It's just this is my I like thissong.
(27:13):
Yeah, this is this is my favorite song because when the
display this came out doesn't 15, so it's gonna, you know,
it's late later in the catalog kind of thing, but this is
probably my favorite song. And there's an album that's not
even on here. Is that, is that not correct?
Because there was a song that I was no comma.
(27:35):
Yes, but it's not on on Spotify that album.
Yeah, that's that's early. Like that's the first thing that
he did with them. Poop Brian Burn.
Yeah, Yeah, OK. I'm pretty sure anyway, like you
know, I mean some first release I get or whatever it is, but
there is, I don't know if it's an album.
I think it might be like an EP or something, like a four Sonic
thing or something. Yeah.
(27:56):
Yeah, I don't know. And I could be wrong about that
completely, but I feel like it wasn't wrong.
It's not a full album, but I thought it was like an app or
something, like a, you know whatI mean?
You know, I'm saying, you know, I'm getting that like I was like
an experiment. Will this work?
But I could be wrong And then let's see which one is this one
(28:24):
or not. And this is a good tune too.
And this is new to like this is same year, this is modern more.
This is the end of the catalog, I guess technically right now
he's got a lot of radio play too.
When did this come out? 2015 But yeah, these are pretty
(28:47):
these are pretty good bangers too, right?
Yeah, interesting, but two different sounds like.
Definitely sounds different. Yeah, yeah, two totally
different things going well, like yes and no, but definitely
the songs are definitely different.
(29:08):
These ones, they're way more like thick and just a lot more
going on there, a lot more going.
On pretty thick. To some tick.
But they won't be saying they won't be singing them songs.
No, that's the thing. I mean, they're I'm assuming
that Edmund's not gonna sing those songs.
Hell no, he he ain't going to touch that.
I don't think he could. No, they're not his.
(29:30):
No, and I mean I don't even think he technical like his.
I don't think his voice does that.
No. Well, he probably wouldn't want
to anyway. No, and he's pretty.
He used to be pretty finicky at one point along the water.
Well, yeah, he quit the band once, Yeah.
I don't know what happened thereto be.
Honest, I can't remember. I remember it was a big deal at
the time and I remember knew about it, but I don't know
anymore. Fucking will do.
(29:52):
How many we're going to do here? We'll do.
We'll do 4 of entities edits category and we'll pick a couple
more on the way. Down pick four off this list
here. So we gotta we gotta fat list
here this evening because we gotanother full list over here.
OHS wow, while we were. I've heard that one, but that
(30:15):

I knew it. I was gonna say he's gonna pick
55. 40 That's right. 3440 I likethese guys too.
What do you want to hit on here,my good Sir?
(30:36):
There's always. One day do your one day in your
life. Hit.
Me some babe. This is a book.
Actually. I quite like these guys.
I've seen these guys live a couple times too.
Oh yeah. I think I did a couple of times
as well. But there.
You got it. You got to see these guys.
If you're Canadian, I think that's just part of the ritual.
(30:56):
I think so too. These are like very.
These dudes to me are like Canadiana, like they're on the
cat with Tragically Hip. All that kind of group of people
kind of fit into that vibe for me.
Definitely bang your track your folks on and the year was 1985
radio. Yeah, apparently this is the jam
(31:17):
here this evening. Is the jam Casey Cason coming at
Jack? 'S case, Jason.
Casey case Sam over here. Sam, that should be we should do
a radio show, just call the OK. Saying Casey Kasam over here.
Real personality and do it for from now on.
(31:38):
Can you imagine walking around saying that all the holy cruise?
No trying to remember, trying tosay it so people don't think
you're purely ripping him off. Yeah, exclamation point.
Goodbye as well. Yeah, they get this.
They got this. This is a good vibe for sure.
Oh yeah, and it gets a little bit more like probably in here
(32:01):
something. Yeah, I had a.
The name always escapes me, but. This was over here.
It's a Pretty Little fair bit going on there.
What a song. What a song, folks.
(32:24):
I like this, though. This is a good call.
Yeah, it's a gooder. This is a gooder.
Is a gooder. Right song.
Is that like when you when people might just say the name
and you're just like, no, I don't remember that song?
Play it, yeah. Yeah, you play it.
Oh yeah, and everybody 10,000 times.
Yeah, you know the words you don't even know.
You know the words, you know thechorus, at least bit them in
(32:47):
them. For sure.
Yeah, this is definitely a chartTopper.
Yeah, I quite enjoyed the students.
It's a little bit a little bit of a banger.
A little bit of a 5440 on the draft here.
Canadian rock draft. How you gonna break this down
(33:11):
into how many pics is that though?
So I'm on my 4th one now. I'll be there on the 4th 1.
Let's see here. What else do we want to take?
What else do we want to take here?
Hmm, I'm gonna be. Let's see what else we got going
on. I'm going to take moist and I'm
(33:32):
going to say moist twice. Oh wow moisty I didn't even see
that hidden hidden away up there, just scrolling.
Never scrolled up, I see most I would had voice taken last up.
No, I'm just fucking with you. It doesn't matter.
It doesn't. Matter where it came.
From So what do you wanna get onto here?
(33:54):
Now let's see what we got. Also a staple Silver.
What an album. Yeah, that's another one.
I've owned my original copy for a really long time.
It this because I'm. I don't know.
Yeah, I remember. I don't know.
What either one of these? I remember hearing this song and
just being like wow to me. Like I was just really young.
(34:17):
Like wow, this sounds different.Sounds really cool man.
Like. Yeah and then cuz at first you
don't really realize it from Canada, you don't even think
about that. And then you find out they are
you're like oh shit, that's evenbetter.
Like that's like I've seen moistand I've seen David Usher, but.
I think, I think I've only just seen David Usher.
(34:37):
Usher was really good, to be fair.
Saying moist too much I wear. I'm saying it more because I
know there's people that don't like it and I think it's funny.
Just Fast forward like 512345. Yeah, give a couple clicks,
we'll be off. Double clicks on the 15 second
skip. But yeah, they love this song.
Push. Come on, push kidding me.
(34:59):
That is a big radio. 1994, is that right?
Yeah. Like a super radio staple.
Hmm. Bow Wow.
And then of course, the title track.
What a tune here. Yeah, and this is a good album
(35:22):
to like it's a it's all the way through kind of guy.
Creatures is really good too, tobe fair.
Oh no, that's a beauty. Like it is good.
Like boys are really good. Underrated.
Definitely look at it please. For that, don't even have done.
Wow, gasoline don't even have half a mil.
Yeah, that's crazy. I'm so.
(35:44):
Gonna give him one, right? Now.
I actually have liked this song a long time before that.
I'm here and I'm. Like Green is another great one.
There's join This album reminds me of OK we Did throwback throw
it on. Throw it back to me around.
Tell me a story right now. Tell me one.
(36:04):
Summer, I was in a little basketball camp, no with and the
instructors were Jared Mallard, Brian Boone and I think it was
part of their school, right? And like Brian, Brian and Jared
sports camp, I remembered it. And then I remember that I was
yeah. So we was in basketball, right?
(36:27):
And little CD player on the on the bench.
Yeah. And they're moist creature was
beaming going on all day Matt right gasoline like OHS songs.
Deadly was so good. Right.
I had actually had a picture in the paper actually of me.
We used to play, We played this game.
I think Daniel Burke was in it too.
(36:47):
There showed. Out it's like you running or.
Something, no, it's just like kind of like, you know, we're in
the centre circle, we're kind oflike keep dribbling while bump
out like everyone else. Yeah, so.
That's pretty funny, man. Champ over here champ.
Champ is here. A little action shot picture in
the paper. Snap.
Man, this is famous. All coming, coming.
(37:09):
Back, coming back. It's all coming back to me now.
I think I want a Pepsi and a popsicle too for that.
They're. Totally worth it.
I was like, Oh yeah. It totally worth it OHT.
Wish I had more. I wish I had the shirt for that.
I wonder, man, that's sick. You got shirts for the camp and
every. That's pretty bad.
Imagine. Hopefully you listen to that.
Be sick. Yeah, imagine you finds that no.
(37:30):
No, it's gone. It's long gone, but imagine you
did. Imagine that's fucked, that'd be
worth tons. I sent it to me like sign it,
send it, send it back. Oh yeah, what a tune.
Everything on this is good man. Practicing layups?
Sorry. Practices layup.
Practicing layups, jumpers rightgoing off the handle.
(37:55):
Popping pop pop. Pop handle.
Popping the tree. Fucking David Usher blasting in
the back. Man, I'm going to tell you we
peaked in the 90s like there's nothing speak fine or greater
than the 90s. Man, we peaked so hard in like
dear 1999 and look how far we'vegone downhill.
(38:16):
Whatever everything is just so. Everyone's just so whiny.
It's different, man. So just so funny.
It's so crazy different. Like it's so funny.
Like when we think it was like Ihad to go get the CD, had to go
to CD player, had to bring CD player and CD to the school.
Hopefully, fuck, you didn't break it.
Hopefully you didn't drop your CD's.
You know what I'm trying to say?And now you gotta plug it in,
hold nobody's not to touch it. Cause basketball it's at your
(38:38):
fucked. Oh yeah, like touch the bench
fucked, tipped over the bench fucked, everything breaks.
Like just smash it to bits. Yeah, I think eventually it just
got put underneath, like on the floor.
Right. Yeah, it's really funny, man.
Like, you know, I mean like think now is like you just walk
up, put your thing down, take your phone.
Burp Bluetooth put around the speakers in the gym.

(38:59):
Boom, you're done. Yeah, crazy, crazy time.
Kids, man, what the fuck? You don't even know how good you
got. You weren't listening to Moist
playing basketball summer camp. Not on seat, definitely not on
CD. That's funny.
Yeah, that's even just the look, the Albert.
I can remember seeing it. It's it is.
Picture. I guess what I'm picturing
(39:20):
right? Now what do you got?
For draft pick by the way, good one brought back the memory.
That was a good one. What do you got for your final
pick? Ryan by for your 4th?
Pick man. I don't know man.
Like I like I I got to go with the odds, the odds, the odds,
baby one of my. Let's go.
They're like a deep cut I got. I've actually found both their
(39:45):
two albums of theirs, you know, from a Goodwill I've actually
bought that sees that Goodwill found them.
I was like, yeah, well, I gotta get the odds.
So I picked up Nest and then that other one with Eat My Brain
on it which is a. Classic, classic.
These are classics. Actually, I kind of until you
(40:07):
said it, I didn't see that thereeither.
And then that's sick. Forgot about these songs.
Yeah, because I was, you know, Icould always been like, it's
been one week. Barenaked, but yeah, so it will
say that's a sidekick. Back up pick pick yeah, but I
love I love the ads. So it comes on on my truck radio
(40:27):
lots and you'll have to Canadian.
They just played a show at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver
with Limb Lifter Actually. Yes, they did.
Come on show. So yeah, showed it to those
guys. They're still fucking giving her
and yeah, recording new music and collaborating and lots of
cool stuff. Give it a byes man because this
(40:48):
is good. This is a banger 2.
Man I love this song. Oh yeah, and that's another
thing. Too sounds like like deny.
This sounds like deny do. It's A at the time, yeah.
You don't, you don't think like you don't even think that these
are Canadian people, right? And they're just.
Not even. If you're here and you're just
like, oh shit, this song is great, but they're old.
They're also Canadian too. Wow.
(41:10):
Yeah, Like, that always started to blow me away.
Like, eventually, like, I was like, holy shit.
Like some of these people are like, not that far from you.
But I do believe that because welived on an island, it felt
further, you know what I mean? Like it didn't seem like it was
really real necessarily. Still had that like, way, way,
way far away feeling. Yeah, But you know, But you
(41:31):
know. Great.
We're here now. A little bit here.
We're back. And you know, we are back.
