Earlier this year, Hurricane Helene caused devastating damage to homes and families, particularly in Central Appalachia. The Appalachia Service Project has committed to repairing or replacing over 200 homes for families impacted by the hurricane. Another group called Mission of Hope is working to ensure families in need can experience the joy of Christmas. Their Christmas Collection Program provides new toys, clothes, food, and essential hygiene items to children of families in Appalachia.
