of 1 Samuel.

The more we allow our flesh tobe in control of our life, the
more control that Satan is goingto have over us.
In the Garden of Eden, Satanmanifests himself as a form of a

The Lord spends a lot of time on King Saul's life,
and you could really break hislife up into three parts.
There's the rising up of Saul,and then there was the downward

spiral.
He started just first goingsideways, but then going
downward.

This calling that's on your life goes beyond the
foundations of the earth, and itwas released by the blood of
Jesus Christ upon that cross.
And then it intersected withyour life when you were least

expecting it.
And I woke up this morning andthe Lord said to me.

We need to pray for that divine calling to manifest
in our life.

His men are green andpreviously afraid, but when the
anointing comes upon Saul, heleads the nation of Israel into

an incredible victory.
Now the enemy's king was namedKing Nahash.
And he told the city that he hadsurrounded Jabez Gilead and he
told the city that he hadsurrounded Jabez Gilead, that
the only way that he would givethem peace is if he could poke
(45:15):
every man's eye out.

And King Nahash has his name.
In Hebrew signifies a serpent,a serpent that has come to
Israel to pluck out the eyes andto steal the vision.

But when the anointing of Saulaligns with the anointing of the
prophet, of Saul aligns withthe anointing of the prophet.
The serpent is cast down, andnot only is vision not destroyed

, but the vision of the kingdomis elevated.

and Saul made a decision to compromise, to reach
beyond the authority that Godhad given him he was called to
be captain of the army, theauthority that God had given him

He was called to be captain of the army.
The political authority, notthe spiritual authority.

Samuel still held that ground, and so he began to
overreach.
The next we see him surroundedby religious emblems.

He's got an entire armysurrounding him and yet now he's

paralyzed by his own religion,unable to move, unable to do
anything.
He was called to fight theenemy, but now he's stuck and
(52:27):
there's this great contrast inthis chapter where his own son,
jonathan, takes an arm bearerwith one sword and he goes to
fight the enemy with just twomen.

God was trying to stir up in Saul.
Faith acts Saul.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
Faith acts.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
Religion and position hinder.
And then the ultimatecompromise came in Saul's life,
when Samuel gave him a missionGo, destroy the Amalekites and
(53:35):
leave nothing alive no person,no animal, nothing.

Saul decides to save some of the best.
He decides to keep the cattleand keep the king.
But when the prophet Samuelshows up, King Saul, absorbed in
(54:19):
self-delusion, runs to theprophet and says I have done
everything the Lord has asked meto do.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
And Samuel is speechless.
He looks around and he sees thecattle and he hears the lowing
of the sheep and he says Saul,you have not kept the word of
(54:56):
the Lord.
And Saul argues Until the factsaround him were too profound
and too real to discount anymore.
Speaker 4 (55:29):
Samuel.
He said I have kept these forsacrifice unto the Lord.

And then it's just a few verseslater, he says God has sought a

So you're comparing the wrongthings, you're weighing out the

In your life, you've elevatedthings that do not matter.

Not by how the crowds receive us.
You see, every man's battle,and probably every woman's
battle, is that we feel soinadequate to the call.
I don't have the giftings, Idon't have the ability.

I don't have the giftings, Idon't have the ability, I don't
have the wisdom, I don't have amom or a dad that's, you know,
known in the apostolicPentecostal movement.
I can't preach like Brother AlRobinette or some other great

preacher, and so we feel thecall, but then we look at
ourselves and we feel theinadequacies of our own self in
the call.

But then we look at ourselves.
And we feel the inadequacies ofour own self in the call, and
so then, we seek the approval ofpeople.

Because we're trying to prove the adequacy to
ourselves.

He was completely cut off from God's will.

And in the end, he was leftdead alone on a battlefield.

Now you think about it, the man that was anointed to
defeat the enemies of Israelthe man that was anointed to
destroy the Philistines was leftdead on a battlefield while

fighting the very enemies he wasanointed to defeat and, in the
end, the kingdom of Israel wasleft worse off than they were
before he became king was leftworse off than they were before

he became king.

I'm going to tell you, when Ilook at the cross, I see pain, I
see blood, I see torment.
But when Jesus was on thatcross, he saw you.

He saw what his sacrifice wouldproduce in your life.
He saw the fullness of thedivine call manifesting upon you

He saw everything that thatdivine call could make you and

transform you into being.

Now, this happened to Saul,this very thing.

Saul wasn't ready for hismoment, so he was crushed under
the weight of the anointing.
But Jesus is saying is therecoming a time when, like Saul,

god is going to raise up theapostolic church, an apostolic
ministry, and he's going to takeyou from that lowly seat and
he's going to place you in thatseat of honor, a field in the
(01:08:51):
Holy Ghost?
The time is close.
The Apostolic Church is aboutto rise up for the world to see,
and it does matter in thatmoment that we have dealt with
every character issue, that wehave overcome every internal
(01:09:19):
battle, that we have overcomeall of our insecurities that we
had overcome all of ourinsecurities, all of our fear,
all of our doubts, all of thethings that make us human, those
negative attributes, so that wecan rise up and be the church
(01:09:48):
that God has called us to be.

God has called you and God hasanointed you, and it's time to

They absolutely go together.

The more we allow our flesh tobe in control of our life, the
more control that Satan is goingto have over us.
In the Garden of Eden, Satanmanifests himself as a form of a

he never stopped fighting thatbattle of self and in the end he

We need to pray for that divine calling to manifest

anointing comes upon Saul, heleads the nation of Israel into

an incredible victory.
Now the enemy's king was namedKing Nahash.
And he told the city that he hadsurrounded Jabez Gilead and he
told the city that he hadsurrounded Jabez Gilead, that
the only way that he would givethem peace is if he could poke
(45:15):
every man's eye out.

And King Nahash has his name.
In Hebrew signifies a serpent,a serpent that has come to
Israel to pluck out the eyes andto steal the vision.

But when the anointing of Saulaligns with the anointing of the
prophet, of Saul aligns withthe anointing of the prophet.
The serpent is cast down, andnot only is vision not destroyed

, but the vision of the kingdomis elevated.

and Saul made a decision to compromise, to reach
beyond the authority that Godhad given him he was called to
be captain of the army, theauthority that God had given him

He was called to be captain of the army.
The political authority, notthe spiritual authority.

Samuel still held that ground, and so he began to
overreach.
The next we see him surroundedby religious emblems.

He's got an entire armysurrounding him and yet now he's

paralyzed by his own religion,unable to move, unable to do
anything.
He was called to fight theenemy, but now he's stuck and
(52:27):
there's this great contrast inthis chapter where his own son,
jonathan, takes an arm bearerwith one sword and he goes to
fight the enemy with just twomen.

God was trying to stir up in Saul.
Faith acts Saul.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
Faith acts.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
Religion and position hinder.
And then the ultimatecompromise came in Saul's life,
when Samuel gave him a missionGo, destroy the Amalekites and
(53:35):
leave nothing alive no person,no animal, nothing.

Saul decides to save some of the best.
He decides to keep the cattleand keep the king.
But when the prophet Samuelshows up, King Saul, absorbed in
(54:19):
self-delusion, runs to theprophet and says I have done
everything the Lord has asked meto do.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
And Samuel is speechless.
He looks around and he sees thecattle and he hears the lowing
of the sheep and he says Saul,you have not kept the word of
(54:56):
the Lord.
And Saul argues Until the factsaround him were too profound
and too real to discount anymore.
Speaker 4 (55:29):
Samuel.
He said I have kept these forsacrifice unto the Lord.

battle, is that we feel soinadequate to the call.
I don't have the giftings, Idon't have the ability.

have the wisdom, I don't have amom or a dad that's, you know,
known in the apostolicPentecostal movement.
I can't preach like Brother AlRobinette or some other great

preacher, and so we feel thecall, but then we look at
ourselves and we feel theinadequacies of our own self in
the call.

But then we look at ourselves.
And we feel the inadequacies ofour own self in the call, and
so then, we seek the approval ofpeople.

Because we're trying to prove the adequacy to
ourselves.

defeat the enemies of Israelthe man that was anointed to
destroy the Philistines was leftdead on a battlefield while

fighting the very enemies he wasanointed to defeat and, in the
end, the kingdom of Israel wasleft worse off than they were
before he became king was leftworse off than they were before

he became king.

I'm going to tell you, when Ilook at the cross, I see pain, I
see blood, I see torment.
But when Jesus was on thatcross, he saw you.

He saw what his sacrifice wouldproduce in your life.
He saw the fullness of thedivine call manifesting upon you

He saw everything that thatdivine call could make you and

transform you into being.

Saul wasn't ready for hismoment, so he was crushed under
the weight of the anointing.
But Jesus is saying is therecoming a time when, like Saul,

god is going to raise up theapostolic church, an apostolic
ministry, and he's going to takeyou from that lowly seat and
he's going to place you in thatseat of honor, a field in the
(01:08:51):
Holy Ghost?
The time is close.
The Apostolic Church is aboutto rise up for the world to see,
and it does matter in thatmoment that we have dealt with
every character issue, that wehave overcome every internal
(01:09:19):
battle, that we have overcomeall of our insecurities that we
had overcome all of ourinsecurities, all of our fear,
all of our doubts, all of thethings that make us human, those
negative attributes, so that wecan rise up and be the church
(01:09:48):
that God has called us to be.
