Pastor Garwick delivers a powerful message on overcoming internal battles to fulfill divine purpose by examining the contrasting lives of Saul and David. The real comparison isn't between these two kings but between who we are now and who God has called us to be.

• Character weaknesses and internal battles can sabotage our anointing and divine calling
• The snake of personal ambition can grow into a dragon of destruction when left unchecked
• New levels of anointing always reveal character flaws that must be addressed
• Saul's ministry was paralyzed when he began seeking approval from people rather than confidence from God
• Those who overcome themselves like David find restoration even after failure
• The gap between our current state and God's divine purpose for us must be closed
• Our confidence must come solely from the cross of Christ, not human validation
• Divine calling should be our primary identity regardless of our profession or position
• The apostolic church is being prepared to rise up in these last days for global harvest

Get Pastor Garwick's new book "Overcoming Yourself" available now on Amazon – a powerful resource to help you rise above weaknesses, failures and character defects to fulfill God's purpose for your life.

Take your liberty.

Speaker 4 (14:51):

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Well, thank you, Brother Robinette.
It's so good to be here onApostolic Mentoring.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Gracias, Hermano Robinette.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
And I mentoring and I'm so grateful that you're
willing to come to Oklahoma andminister each and every year,
and I'm so grateful for yourvision for Global Harvest and
you make it available for us allto be a part of it.
Thirteen years ago, the Lordlaid this book upon my heart

(15:41):
heart.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
The core of the book is surrounding the life of King
Saul, such a tragic figure inscriptures.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
In 1 Samuel, 15 and 28, it says the Lord hath rent
the kingdom from Israel, fromthee, this day, and has given it
to a neighbor of thine that isbetter than thou Now.

(16:34):
The word better is a word thattells the reader that we are to
compare Before the name of Davidis ever mentioned in the book
of 1 Samuel.

Speaker 4 (16:50):

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Before his life is ever revealed.

Speaker 4 (16:59):

Speaker 1 (17:03):
The Lord is saying compare these two men.

Speaker 4 (17:06):

Speaker 1 (17:12):
David is measured and weighed by the Lord.

Speaker 4 (17:15):

Speaker 1 (17:19):
And the Lord is declaring that David is better.

Speaker 4 (17:22):

Speaker 1 (17:25):
And so the question that must be asked for all of us
is why?
Why is he better?
And I believe that digging outthis proper answer is so
critical to our ministry.

Speaker 4 (17:47):

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Because the same human flesh that is in us.

Speaker 4 (17:54):

Speaker 1 (18:08):
todo esto they must be dealt with and they must be
overcome.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Debemos enfrentarlas y debemos tener victorias sobre
ellas.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Both Saul and David had the same divine call upon
their life.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
David had the same divine callupon their life.
They both were called to be theking of Israel.
Both were anointed by the sameprophet.
Both oversaw great militaryvictories Y los dos tuvieron

(18:45):
grandes victorias militares.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
And both men tragically failed the Lord at
times.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Y los dos trágicamente fallaron al Señor
en algunos tiempos.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
But what is astonishing about these two men?

Speaker 4 (19:00):
hombres?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Is that Saul's life ended in rejection and judgment.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
While David found redemption and restoration.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
Donde David encontró restauración y redimido.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
So we're back to that question of why.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Así que regresamos a esa pregunta nuevamente.
¿por qué so?

Speaker 1 (19:27):
we're back to that question of why.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
What made the difference?
In 2 Timothy 2 and 25 and 26,.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
there's a very powerful set of scriptures here
In meekness, instructing thosethat oppose themselves if God
pre-adventure will give themrepentance to the
acknowledgement theacknowledging of the truth and

(20:08):
that they may recover themselvesout of the snare of the devil
who are taken captive by him athis will.
Now we often hear the sayingnew levels, new devils, but

(20:38):
notice how the scriptureconnects here those who oppose
themselves with those that arecaptive and those that are
captive by the snare of thedevil.
They absolutely go together.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
They absolutely go together.
The more we allow our flesh tobe in control of our life, the
more control that Satan is goingto have over us.
In the Garden of Eden, Satanmanifests himself as a form of a

(21:37):
snake Coming to manipulate anddeceive and attempt Venir a
matibular y engañar y a tomar.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Now a snake can be dealt with.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Ahora una víbora.
Podemos lidiar con ella?

Speaker 1 (21:54):
If a snake shows up in your backyard, you can deal
with that snake.

Speaker 4 (21:57):

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Grab a shovel or some maybe small weapon, like a
small pellet gun, and you candeal with that snake.
In Genesis 3 and 14, it's whenthe curses are given.
The Lord, speaking to theservant, says upon my belly thou

(22:30):
shalt go, and thus shalt thoueat all the days of thy life we
were formed from the dust of theground, Por cuanto esta existes
.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
animales.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
We were formed from the dust of the ground.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
tierra.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Dust we are and dust we shall return.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
polvo.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Dust is made up of decayed flesh, fallen flesh, and
the serpent spiritually feedson this fallen flesh of
carnality.

Speaker 4 (23:26):

Speaker 1 (23:27):
carne que ha caído, and so we see Satan referenced
as a snake in the first book,así que vemos como la serpiente
es referida como una serpienteen el primer libro, but by the
time we get to the last book inthe book of Revelation, Pero

(23:50):
cuando vamos al último libro, ellibro de Apocalipsis, we get to
the last book.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
In the book of Revelation, he is no longer
referenced as a snake, but nowas a dragon.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
In Revelation 12 and 9 it says and the great dragon
was cast out, that old serpentcalled the devil and Satan was
to see with the whole world.

Speaker 4 (24:10):

Speaker 1 (24:21):
So we see that Satan had been consuming fallen flesh.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Pero ahora sabemos que Satanás ha estado
consumiendo esta carne que hasido caída.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
To the point where he went from a snake to a dragon.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Jesus makes an interesting statement in John 14
and 30.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
importante.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Hereafter I will not talk with you much.

Speaker 4 (24:54):

Speaker 1 (24:58):
For the prince of this world has cometh and hath
nothing in me.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
nada de mí nothing in me.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Another interpretation of that scripture
says he shall find nothing inme.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
Another interpretation says he has
nothing to find in me.
Y otra interpretación dice nohay nada que él pueda encontrar
en mí.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
See, the truth is it's not necessarily new levels,
new devils.

Speaker 4 (25:32):

Speaker 1 (25:39):
But new levels of anointing.
Pero nuevos niveles de unciónwill always reveal the cracks
that are in your character.

Speaker 4 (25:48):

Speaker 1 (25:52):
And they must be dealt with.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Y debemos de lidiar con eso.
If you refuse and instead youdouble down on your carnal ways
carne?

Speaker 1 (26:07):
if you ignore the character gaps in your life, if
you justify the weaknesses andinconsistencies that you have,
you will be crushed under theweight of the anointing.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
And what God has imparted toyou y lo que Dios ha impartido a
ti for blessing and empowermentpara que puedas tener bendición
y poder will instead destroyyou.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
David was better than Saul, not because he was
perfect, not because he didn'tever make mistakes, but because
he never stopped fighting thatbattle of self and in the end he

(27:14):
found a way to rise up andovercome himself.

Speaker 4 (27:18):

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Saul just kept doubling down on his own
character weaknesses.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
Y Saúl.
Él seguía, maltratando susdebilidades.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Justifying them and embracing them.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Justificando en ellas y abrazándolas.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Until that snake became a dragon in his life.

Speaker 4 (27:44):

Speaker 1 (27:49):
God called him, but his ambition, the snake, became
a dragon in his life.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
God called him, but his ambition destroyed him.
God called him, but his prideblinded him.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
The Lord exalted him, but he was determined to follow
his own path.

Speaker 4 (28:08):

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Rebellion and stubbornness became the twin
gods of his life.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
And what the Lord wants us to see.
In this story, as the life ofSaul unfolds before the reader,
we can clearly see that hischaracter Was not strong enough

(28:50):
or solid enough to match theanointing that God had placed on
his life.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Saul was anointed by Samuel and it cost him very
little.
There was no great price thatSaul had to pay, and Saul, in
the process, refused to betransformed by the call or the

(29:22):
anointing everything by the callor the anointing Y Saúl en el
Everything became about Saul.

Speaker 4 (29:33):

Speaker 1 (29:37):
His kingdom, his calling, his anointing.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Su reino, su llamado, su unción.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
We would say it in our day, our ministry, our
church.
And in the end, his persistentself-centeredness Sabotaged all

(30:07):
the potential that he had in thekingdom of God.

Speaker 4 (30:10):

Speaker 1 (30:17):
You do not have to be defined by your weaknesses.

Speaker 4 (30:20):

Speaker 1 (30:24):
God created you in his image.
Dios.
Te creó a ti en su imagen Godcreated you in his image.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
By his blood, he has placed that divine call upon
your life.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
There is an eternal purpose that he has laid and he
is unfolding upon you, andthrough the power of Jesus
Christ you can be set free fromall your past failures.
You can overcome every internalbattle.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
You can overcome every internal battle, and you
can overcome the darkest partsof yourself and be transformed
into the person that God hascalled you to be.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Well, I just feel the Lord for a moment.
Would you lift your hand andwould you say Lord, give me
victory over every carnal way, everything that has come against
me, every internal battle, andby the authority of the word of
God, by the power of the name ofJesus, I lose the anointing.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
O, god, god, to touch every mind in your spirit right
now to break every chain ofdarkness, every chain that's
trying to pull down theanointing in the anointed
ministries, all of.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
God, that's upon the life.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
By the authority of your word, by the power of your
name, I lose faith into thishour to rise up.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
I lose the power of God to I will speak into this
hour to rise up.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
I lose the power of God to flow in their life and
ministry and calling, I lose theanointing and the prophetic
Jesus to flow on every singleperson right now.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
I lose it in me, in the name of Jesus hallelujah,
hallelujah, I feel the Lord wefeel the Lord.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
The Lord spends a lot of time on King Saul's life,
and you could really break hislife up into three parts.
There's the rising up of Saul, and then there was the downward

(32:55):
spiral.
He started just first goingsideways, but then going
downward.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
hasta abajo, but then there wasthe destruction of Saul, pero
entonces sigue la destrucción deSaúl.
Now Saul was called out fromobscurity.

(33:22):

Speaker 1 (33:24):
He was unknown.
He was unknown.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
He was not popular.
He came from a small tribe andthe least of the family of that
tribe.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
And yet the hand of God came down upon him and
rested on him and said I callthis man.
It's like probably most of us.
It's living our life, going ourown way.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
Yendo por nuestra vida, caminando nuestro propio
camino, so live in our life, goin our own way.
Bound in sin, doing our ownthing, when that divine call of
God came upon our life.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
And we heard that voice from heaven call upon us
and something deep inside ourheart and soul was tugged on and
we turned to God 2 Timothy 1and 9 says and we turn to God 2,

(34:48):
Timothy 1 and 9 says who hassaved us and called us with a
holy calling, Not according toour works not according to our
works, but according to his ownpurposes and grace, which was

(35:25):
given to us in Christ Jesusbefore the world began.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
This calling that's on your life goes beyond the
foundations of the earth, and itwas released by the blood of
Jesus Christ upon that cross.
And then it intersected withyour life when you were least

(35:58):
expecting it.
And I woke up this morning andthe Lord said to me.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
We need to pray for that divine calling to manifest
in our life.
So right now, just for a moment, would you lift your hand?

Speaker 4 (36:22):
And would you pray?

Speaker 1 (36:22):
God, let let your divine call be my life.
Would you pray that right now?

Speaker 4 (36:32):
God, I pray that you would let your divine call be my
life, my identity, my purpose,my calling.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Let me surrender myself to your calling and your
anointing and your purposes.
I pray in the name of the Lord.
I lose that identity, I losethat purpose, I lose that
calling let it be our life, letit be how we see ourselves.
Let it be how we walk throughthis and journey through this
thing we call life I lose your, call your purpose your anointing

(37:07):
and your glory to manifest uponeach and every one of us.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
In Jesus name In.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
Jesus name, this divine call is to be your
identity.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
This divine call is to be your identity.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
I'm sorry.
This divine call is to be youridentity.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
It is to be how you see yourself, no matter what
else you do in this life, whether you're an accountant or
a carpenter.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
Se es un contador o un carpintero.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
You are not defined by that.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Tu no eres definido por eso.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
You are defined by that divine call that is resting
upon your life.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
It does not matter what anyother voice in this world
defines you as.
You are to be defined by thatvoice of the Lord upon your life

(38:22):
, and so Saul was called by God.
And then God imparted to himthe things that he needed to
fulfill the call.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
When Saul took that horn of oil and poured it upon
Saul's head.

Speaker 4 (38:48):

Speaker 1 (38:56):
And Saul was anointed to be captain over God's people
.

Speaker 4 (39:00):

Speaker 1 (39:05):
The scripture says when Saul turned La escritura
dice cuando Saul volteó that Godplaced within Saul another
heart.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
Que Dios puso sobre Saul otro corazón.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
He wasn't the same.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
Él no era el mismo.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
New passions, nuevas pasiones, new passions.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
He felt the weight of the call deep to his heart and
then Samuel the prophet said Elcorazón, el peso del llamado muy
dentro de él.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
And then Samuel the prophet said Y entonces Samuel
el profeta dijo You're going tocross the paths with the sons of
the prophets.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
profetas.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
And when you do.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
Y cuando eso suceda, the prophetic that's on them
going to rest down upon you.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
And the Bible says that the prophetic power of God
fell upon King Saul and heprophesied as one of the
prophets.
You see, god empowered him, godmolded him, god transformed him

(40:42):
for the call.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
In 1 Samuel, 10 and 6 .
This is what Samuel said aboutthat moment, and the spirit of
the Lord shall come upon theeand thou shalt prophesy with

(41:18):
them and thou shalt be turnedinto another man.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
You see, the call of God, when it's empowered in your
life, will transform you andmold you into another person.
God touched the core of hisbeing, in his heart.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
vida.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
And God empowered him with his spirit and the
prophetic ministry.

Speaker 4 (41:56):

Speaker 1 (42:02):
Now there's this climax of Saul's life.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
Hay un clímax en la vida de Saul Now there's this
climax of Saul's life.
When the Amalekites conquer acity that's nearby.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
And everyone is in fear, everyone's afraid.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
They don't know what to do Y todos tienen temor.
Todos están atemorizados, nosaben qué hacer.
When Saul hears what the kingof the Amalekites has done y
anointing comes upon him, and heis righteously angry.

(42:45):
Dios.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
And he takes an oxen and he tears it up.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
Y entonces toma algo y lo destruye.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
And he says so.
Shall anyone be that does notjoin Saul in the army?

Speaker 4 (43:08):
He says so.
Shall anyone be that does notjoin Saul in the army?

Speaker 1 (43:24):
And in 1.
Samuel, chapter 11, verse 7, hemakes this reference at that
moment.
He says whosoever cometh notforth after Saul and after
Samuel.

Speaker 4 (43:54):
Because here there's a unity between Saul and the
seer.
Saul is standing side by sidewith the men of God.
Saul had never led a battlebefore.

(44:15):
His men are green andpreviously afraid, but when the
anointing comes upon Saul, heleads the nation of Israel into

(44:50):
an incredible victory.
Now the enemy's king was namedKing Nahash.
And he told the city that he hadsurrounded Jabez Gilead and he
told the city that he hadsurrounded Jabez Gilead, that
the only way that he would givethem peace is if he could poke

(45:15):
every man's eye out.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
And King Nahash has his name.
In Hebrew signifies a serpent,a serpent that has come to
Israel to pluck out the eyes andto steal the vision.

(45:50):
But when the anointing of Saulaligns with the anointing of the
prophet, of Saul aligns withthe anointing of the prophet.
The serpent is cast down, andnot only is vision not destroyed

(46:15):
, but the vision of the kingdomis elevated.

Speaker 4 (46:22):
La visión no es destruida, but the vision of the

Speaker 1 (46:26):
I believe there's a place for each and every one of
us in the kingdom of God Y yocreo que hay un lugar para cada
uno de nosotros.
But we must be in properalignment with each other.
otro, proper alignment with ourpastor and with spiritual

(46:47):
leadership.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
Una alineación perfecta con nuestro pastor o
con nosotros líderes.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
We need to take this partnership of faith seriously.
Debemos de tomar esta unidad defe seriamente, because together
we can see the vision of Godcome to pass in our generation.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
Porque juntos podemos ver la visión de.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
Dios y conquistar este mundo From the enemy that
wants to steal the vision of God.

Speaker 4 (47:15):

Speaker 1 (47:19):
That wants to corrupt the church.

Speaker 4 (47:27):
Que quiere corromper la iglesia and cause us all to
look internally at ourselvesinstead of up at the kingdom of
heaven.

Speaker 1 (47:42):
No, I don't know why or how it happened, but a few
years passed and somethingchanged inside of Saul.
He forgot the awe of what beingking meant.

Speaker 4 (48:04):

Speaker 1 (48:08):
He forgot the moment when the anointing came upon him
at an altar and he felt thecall of God in his life for that
very first time.

Speaker 4 (48:15):

Speaker 1 (48:23):
And he got comfortable in his position.

Speaker 4 (48:26):

Speaker 1 (48:30):
He started comparing himself among himself.

Speaker 4 (48:34):
Él empezó a compararse él mismo con él mismo
.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
And his confidence began to shift from God to the
people.
And there was this moment oftesting in his life, and God

(49:00):
will always test us.

Speaker 4 (49:03):
Not to test us, y Dios siempre nos va a probar.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
Not to destroy us.

Speaker 4 (49:07):
No para destruirnos.

Speaker 1 (49:09):
But to allow the things that are in our character
, that we're blinded to, to cometo the surface.

Speaker 4 (49:14):

Speaker 1 (49:22):
And Saul found himself in another battle.
And Samuel said I will come andI will make the sacrifice.
Fear began to manifest in thecamp.

Speaker 4 (49:49):
The soldiers of King Saul began to flee.
It was in that moment that Saulhad to decide Would he give
himself to fear or would he holdon to faith?
There's always going to bereasons to fear, but you are

(50:18):
called of God.
If God be for you, then who canbe against you?

Speaker 1 (50:28):
and Saul made a decision to compromise, to reach
beyond the authority that Godhad given him he was called to
be captain of the army, theauthority that God had given him
.

Speaker 4 (50:47):
He was called to be captain of the army.
The political authority, notthe spiritual authority.
No, la autoridad espiritual.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
Samuel still held that ground, and so he began to
overreach.
The next we see him surroundedby religious emblems.

Speaker 4 (51:33):
He is the priest of God.
All around him, he is theanointed ephod of God right
there.
He even calls for someone to goget the Ark of God.
He's got an entire armysurrounding him and yet now he's

(52:04):
paralyzed by his own religion, unable to move, unable to do
anything.
He was called to fight theenemy, but now he's stuck and

(52:27):
there's this great contrast inthis chapter where his own son,
jonathan, takes an arm bearerwith one sword and he goes to
fight the enemy with just twomen.

Speaker 1 (52:55):
God was trying to stir up in Saul.
Faith acts Saul.

Speaker 4 (53:04):
Faith acts.

Speaker 1 (53:07):
Religion and position hinder.
And then the ultimatecompromise came in Saul's life,
when Samuel gave him a missionGo, destroy the Amalekites and

(53:35):
leave nothing alive no person,no animal, nothing.

Speaker 4 (53:52):
Saul decides to save some of the best.
He decides to keep the cattleand keep the king.
But when the prophet Samuelshows up, King Saul, absorbed in

(54:19):
self-delusion, runs to theprophet and says I have done
everything the Lord has asked meto do.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
And Samuel is speechless.
He looks around and he sees thecattle and he hears the lowing
of the sheep and he says Saul, you have not kept the word of

(54:56):
the Lord.
And Saul argues Until the factsaround him were too profound
and too real to discount anymore.

Speaker 4 (55:29):
Samuel.
He said I have kept these forsacrifice unto the Lord.
He says Saul, he guardado estaspara sacrificio para el Señor.

Speaker 1 (55:35):
And the Lord says to Samuel Obedience is better than
sacrifice.
And then it's just a few verseslater, he says God has sought a

(55:59):
man that is better than you.
So you're comparing the wrongthings, you're weighing out the
wrong things.
In your life, you've elevatedthings that do not matter.

Speaker 4 (56:23):
Elevaste cosas que no importan.

Speaker 1 (56:26):
You have called things spiritual that are not.

Speaker 4 (56:29):
Tú has llamado cosas espirituales que no son.
And so now in the end, así queahora al final.

Speaker 1 (56:37):
God is not just comparing a sacrifice.

Speaker 4 (56:40):
Dios no solamente está comparando el sacrificio.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
He's comparing a sacrifice, he's comparing a life
, he's comparing a calling.

Speaker 4 (56:53):
He's comparing an anointing, and just like the
sacrifices that you kept, saul, you have fell short Now.
Saul fell into the trap thatmany, many men fall into.

Speaker 1 (57:16):
Thinking that our ministries are going to be
justified by the approval ofpeople are going to be justified
by the approval of people.

Speaker 4 (57:31):
You see, the confidence in the call should
come from the divine call of God.

Speaker 1 (57:37):
Not by how the crowds receive us.
You see, every man's battle, and probably every woman's
battle, is that we feel soinadequate to the call.
I don't have the giftings, Idon't have the ability.

(58:02):
I don't have the giftings, Idon't have the ability, I don't
have the wisdom, I don't have amom or a dad that's, you know,
known in the apostolicPentecostal movement.
I can't preach like Brother AlRobinette or some other great

(58:26):
preacher, and so we feel thecall, but then we look at
ourselves and we feel theinadequacies of our own self in
the call.

Speaker 4 (58:42):
But then we look at ourselves.
And we feel the inadequacies ofour own self in the call, and
so then, we seek the approval ofpeople.

Speaker 1 (59:00):
Because we're trying to prove the adequacy to
ourselves.

Speaker 4 (59:06):
Porque estamos tratando de probar que somos
capaces de nosotros mismos.
If the people think I'm worthysi la gente piensa que yo
merezco, que tengo valor then Ican accept the worthiness of the
call.
Entonces yo puedo recibir elllamado de Dios.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
See, this was the trapiness of the call.

Speaker 4 (59:27):
See, this was the trap that Saul fell into.
This is why his ministry beganto be paralyzed.

Speaker 1 (59:39):
Our confidence can come from one place, and one
place only.

Speaker 4 (59:45):
Nuestra confianza puede venir solamente de un
lugar y solo un lugar.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
And that is the cross of Jesus Christ.

Speaker 4 (59:51):
Y esa es la cruz de Jesucristo.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
It was his blood and it was his love y fue su sangre,
y fue su amor that said, I'mgoing to go to the cross for you
, according to his own purposeand his grace, which was given

(01:00:16):
to us in Christ Jesus.
If the King of Kings saysyou're worthy, then you're
worthy.
If the King of Kings saysyou're anointed then you're
anointed.

(01:00:41):
If the King of kings says, goforth, then you can go forth
with confidence, because itnever was about you.
It's always about the king andthe kingdom.

(01:01:01):
He just allows you to be a partof it.
Saul started strong.
Saul was anointed and wasgifted to fulfill the call.

Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
But somewhere he lost his way.
His life spiraled out ofcontrol Into devastating
destruction, and it's hard tobelieve.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
But in the end.

Speaker 4 (01:02:01):
He was completely cut off from God's will.

Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
He was completely cut off from God's will.

Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
He was completely cut off from God's purpose and,
worst of all, he was cut offfrom God's presence.
And in the end, he was leftdead alone on a battlefield.

Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
Now you think about it, the man that was anointed to
defeat the enemies of Israelthe man that was anointed to
destroy the Philistines was leftdead on a battlefield while

(01:03:02):
fighting the very enemies he wasanointed to defeat and, in the
end, the kingdom of Israel wasleft worse off than they were
before he became king was leftworse off than they were before

(01:03:22):
he became king.

Speaker 4 (01:03:23):

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
They were left unprotected.

Speaker 4 (01:03:28):
Fue dejado sin protección.

Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
Defeated.

Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Fue hecho sin batalla débil.

Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
Under the stronghold of the enemy.

Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
Y fue atado al enemigo.

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
And outside the purposes of God.

Speaker 4 (01:03:48):
Y fuera del propósito de Dios.

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
And the Lord is warning this generation.

Speaker 4 (01:03:54):

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
The anointing and the calling is not about you.

Speaker 4 (01:04:02):
El llamamiento y la unción.
No se trata cerca de ti.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
The anointing and the calling is not about you.

Speaker 4 (01:04:10):
The anointing and the calling is given from the king
For his kingdom to rise up inthis generation.
You're anointed for such a timeas this.
There are Davids of this hourthat are rising up.

Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
Overcoming their own weaknesses, their own
insecurities, their owninadequacies, and falling down
in the presence of God andallowing God to continually
restore them so that you can beeverything that God has divinely

(01:05:05):
called you to be.
Romans 12 and 2 says that Jesusendured the cross because of
the joy that was set before him.

(01:05:26):
I'm going to tell you, when Ilook at the cross, I see pain, I
see blood, I see torment.
But when Jesus was on thatcross, he saw you.

(01:05:52):
He saw what his sacrifice wouldproduce in your life.
He saw the fullness of thedivine call manifesting upon you
.
He saw everything that thatdivine call could make you and

(01:06:15):
transform you into being.

Speaker 4 (01:06:30):
I want to about to come to an end.
I want to say this I feel thisin the Holy Ghost Y voy a decir

Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
There is a parable that Jesus gives.
Hay una parábola que el SeñorJesús dice for the sake of time
I won't read it.
But it's in Luke 14 and 10.
But the Lord gives a picture ofa banquet table and the Lord

(01:07:02):
said when you come in, sit in alowly place when you come in,
sit in a lowly place, Don't makethe banquet all about you.

Speaker 4 (01:07:21):
But then Jesus said there's going to come a time
when the master of the housesays I want you to rise up from
that lowly place.

Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
When the master of the house.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
Says I want you to rise up from that lowly place
and I want you to sit at thehead of the table.
Now, this happened to Saul, this very thing.

Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
As the shoulder of the lamb was given to him to eat
.
Saul wasn't ready for hismoment, so he was crushed under
the weight of the anointing.
But Jesus is saying is therecoming a time when, like Saul,

(01:08:24):
god is going to raise up theapostolic church, an apostolic
ministry, and he's going to takeyou from that lowly seat and
he's going to place you in thatseat of honor, a field in the

(01:08:51):
Holy Ghost?
The time is close.
The Apostolic Church is aboutto rise up for the world to see,
and it does matter in thatmoment that we have dealt with
every character issue, that wehave overcome every internal

(01:09:19):
battle, that we have overcomeall of our insecurities that we
had overcome all of ourinsecurities, all of our fear,
all of our doubts, all of thethings that make us human, those
negative attributes, so that wecan rise up and be the church

(01:09:48):
that God has called us to be.

Speaker 4 (01:09:51):

Speaker 1 (01:09:59):
You see, the real contrast that God wants us to
look at is not just the contrastbetween Saul and David.
You see, David representedeverything that Saul was called

(01:10:20):
to be in the first place.

Speaker 4 (01:10:33):
David was the manifestation of everything God
wanted Saul to be.
So the real contrast is notbetween Saul and David, but it's
between Saul and Saul.
It's between the man that Saulis at this moment, compared to

(01:11:05):
the man that God called Saul tobe.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
And I want to speak to every person that's on this
call this afternoon.
God has called you and God hasanointed you, and it's time to
use the correct measuring rod aswe measure our lives.
When Christ died for the crossand he saw you individually and

(01:11:42):
he saw the fullness ofeverything that you are called
to become.

Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
The fullness of everything that you are called
to become.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
How big is the gap from who you are now?

Speaker 4 (01:11:57):
How big is the gap?

Speaker 1 (01:11:59):
from who you are now.

Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
To who God has called you to be.

Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
Because the contrast God wants you to look at Is who
you are right this moment,Compared to who has God divinely
called you to be?
So now I want to take ourselvesoff mute and I want to pray

(01:12:28):
this God take the gap away.
Let us step into the fullnessof your divine call.

Speaker 4 (01:12:37):
Let us rise up above failuresvamos a levantarnos sobre toda
debilidad weaknesses sobre todacaída and character defects y

(01:13:02):
todos los defectos de nuestrocarácter.

Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
And let us be defined by our call and our anointing
upon our lives.

Speaker 4 (01:13:09):

Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
Let's take this off mute, let's pray, and then I'll
turn this back over to BrotherRobinette.

Speaker 4 (01:13:19):

Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
Hallelujah, oh praise God.
What a powerful kingdomcritical word we've received
today.

Speaker 4 (01:16:26):
Oh, glory to God.
What a powerful word we'vereceived today.
God, create in us a clean heart.

Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
Renew a right spirit in us.

Speaker 4 (01:16:53):
Don't allow there to be any character flaws.

Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Any seeds of this world.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
That would keep us from accomplishing your end time
vision.

Speaker 4 (01:17:13):
Not just for the world, but for us as well.
Oh praise God.

Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Hallelujah.
