Dr. Ghafoori is a radiation oncologist who specializes in the use of radiation treatments for all kinds of cancer. He says the best candidates for radiation therapy are those with high-risk cancers in which surgery is the primary treatment, but additional treatments may be necessary. Although focused radiation treatments are noninvasive, complications may include urinary irritation/bladder symptoms, radiation proctitis, decreased sexual function.
