(00:09):
Good morning, and welcome back to the AussieMindset Mentor.
My name is Selena.
Thank you for joining me.
So today, I want you to, you know, do a littlebit of the thinking, and it's a participation
type podcast.
So my first question to you to start thinkingabout is, what is one thing that you're really

(00:29):
passionate about?
And, it you might say, oh, well, what'simportant to me is my work, but I'm not overly
passionate.
Passion might be my horses.
Okay.
So I'd like you to expand that to what'ssomething that's really important to you.
See, passion can be your horses, but horses areexpensive and paying for them.

(00:54):
You don't wanna be logging away at a job to beable to afford your passion in a job that
you're not feeling, you know, rewarded by oryou're not, you know, enjoying.
It's a job that, you know, you're gonna be atquite a bit of the time, or do you wanna be at
the top level in that field, in that job?

(01:17):
Because if you're at the top level, then you'reprobably being paid more, which means maybe
work more or call your own, you know, hours, your own conditions more, giving you more time
to ride your horse.
Now another example of this might be turning ittowards, you know, family.
And that's a big one.
Spending more time with the family and withyour children or with your spouse.

(01:41):
That could be a passion, and I encourage it tobe a passion.
I mean, we often don't think of family as apassion per se, but, gosh, as soon as something
goes wrong or as soon as there's missing there,we realize just how passionate we are.
I mean, for the other mothers, any mothers oreven fathers out there who are listening, you

(02:03):
know, that first time you hear that some littlekid at school's been picking on your little
kid, you know, regardless of what yourreaction, I'm going to guess that it's a
passionate one.
You know?
And, yeah, like, that's a a great place tolook.
So by being, you know, top in our field orhaving our work be important and be passionate

(02:27):
about that too will put us in better stead.
I know a lot of people who've been in theirjobs for a long, long, long time.
And, you know, with a tiny bit more work, atsome point in whether it be in the beginning,
but it's I don't wanna give the impression it'sever too late because it's not.
Like, start now and move yourself to be justjust, you know, 5% better.

(02:53):
I mean, that could put you from being averageand in the pack to being irreplaceable, to
being, you know, headhunted.
And, you know, that little improvement theremaybe that gives you the raise or may gives you
the the, you know, the boss that are looking atyou going, oh my gosh.
Whatever want.
Like, what conditions?

(03:13):
How can I work for you?
Or it might just be that you're getting yourwork done quicker and more efficiently, and you
have more time for the family.
But either way, you know, have a look.
What's important to you, what are youpassionate about, and then I want you to tie
them in together and have a look at they mightbe the same thing or they might just be

(03:37):
intertwined.
Okay, have you got something?
Okay, so let's have a look at that what'simportant or what's passionate.
Now the next question is what is one thing thatit would take?
Just one.
And I want it to be an action.

(03:58):
The action will be given by the passion or theimportance you place on it.
Okay.
So we don't.
I'm not gonna go into character attitude or themindset behind it at the moment.
I'm just looking for one action around thatpassion or or thing of importance.
What's one action that could make a differencein moving you from wherever you are.

(04:22):
You might already be excellent, or you might bestruggling, or you might be just sitting on
average, or you might be a little bit aboveaverage so you can feel proud of the job you're
doing because you're better than others, butyou know inside of you that you could push a
bit harder and be better than yourself.
You could set a PB for yourself.

(04:42):
What is that action?
Have a think about it.
There will be one action.
Now for those you know, just in case, for thoseof you who popped up with, oh, there's nothing
I can do.
There's nothing I can do.
I'm just stuck in the the right.
It's like, maybe it's call center or everyone, you know, is making calls.

(05:04):
Yeah.
There's stuff you can do.
There's always something.
You know, I've just started listening to myBrian Tracy audios again.
Oh my goodness.
You know, like, he was who I listened to twentyfive years ago, and there's been a lot of
people come and go, and he still refers tolistening to cassettes in his car, which is how
old it is.

(05:24):
I'm guessing some people now be going, cassettes?
But, you know, he he just had a wisdom andeducation.
He came from nothing, and he just educatedhimself.
You know?
An incredible man to listen to.
He has a psychology of success.
Absolutely one of my go to.

(05:46):
Brilliant.
But back to, you know, what can you do.
Okay?
You're traveling to work.
He's available now on, I you know, iTunes, Iguess, or is definitely on Audible.
You could listen to him on the way to and fromwork in the mornings or pick someone else.
You know, what if one morning, you know, or onepart of the day when you could put something

(06:13):
else in there, you were improving and workingon your own state of being, you know, changing
the meaning that you're giving things.
That alone would absolutely change everythingelse, And you can improve, you know, in any
area.
Alright.
When you know and you've improved and you'veworked away and you've taken that action over

(06:36):
and over, okay.
That place that you're working right now, maybeit won't make a difference in that role.
But I promise you, when you are outstanding atanything you do, people notice.
And an executive coming through at checkouttill might notice the, you know, the person
behind the counter and the great service theygive and the caring and the and the how careful

(07:00):
they are and their diligence and theirattitude, and they might get offered a job.
I've seen it before.
I there have been people I have come across inthe most weirdest places, and I thought, I'd
employ you in a heartbeat.
And I just asked them, what are you doing?
What are you gonna do with your future?
What do you wanna do?
What kind of job do you want?
You know, is this you know, clearly, they'rethey're some younger people.

(07:21):
And they answer me.
And, you know, if it's nothing I can impact,I'll leave them with letting them know why I
asked.
And that is, look.
You're extraordinary, and you really stand out,and you're going to be great in in whatever you
do.
So whatever you're doing, you know, just keepgoing.
I can tell.
And leave them with that feeling that someonehas seen, you know, what matters.

(07:44):
So you can, you can take an action.
Doesn't matter what situation you're in.
Really, I can't think of one situation at themoment where someone couldn't be taking actions
to improve and work on yourself.
If there is one, please contact me and let'stalk through that.

(08:04):
And until then, ask yourself those questions.
What's in what is let me say that again.
What am I most passionate about?
What's important to me?
Like, tie them into one thing, and then what isone action I can take to improve myself in that

(08:26):
area?
When you answer those two questions and justget going with them regardless of what's going
on in the head and the objections and, youknow, the screams, oh, you can't do that.
You're not smart enough with that.
You know, I'm 56.
I started back at university.
I'm telling you, you can do anything.
I didn't pass grade 11, and, you can do it.

(08:49):
You absolutely it might not be on that scale, but there are things you can do.
And you know something else you can do?
You can go and spread kindness, and that thatcan make one of the greatest differences in the
whole world.
So I invite you to do that today as well.
Go help me spread more kindness in the world.

(09:11):
Thanks for listening.
See you soon.
