The idea about reading the room will be covered in this episode. Searching for or figuring out a meaning what is implied or concealed rather than one that is stated clearly is the social skill known as "reading the room." I also discuss how those on the autism spectrum find it more difficult to look around the room when we use figurative language and take things literally. I also speak about why it is challenging to do an examination in a public space with millions of people. I also go into why I think this is the most difficult social skill for someone on the autism spectrum to pick up. I do teach people on the spectrum ways to assist themselves, so it's not all a negative episode.
