Trigger warning....This case is one of the most gruesome and cruelest cases we have covered.... But our hope is keeping it in the public will help it one day be solved. As with every case we treat these stories with respect and dignity because these are real peoples loved ones and real tragedy people have had to endure.
On the evening of November 18, 1987, police went to the mobile home of Russell Keith Dardeen, 29, and his family outside Ina, Illinois, United States, after he had failed to show up for work that day. Keith, his 8 months along pregnant wife Elaine (30) and their 2 year old son Peter all lived in the home.
When police entered the home what they found was a truly horrifying scene. Elaine, her son Peter and a newborn daughter were found deceased in the family bed. Keith was no where in sight.....It would be until hours later they would find out what happened to Keith and the endless search for answers would begin.
