There was a, basically a quizon the Washington Post that I
took and sent you the results ofas to whether or not you need a
watch, a, you know, one ofthese fancy pants, watches like

And guess what, tom, I don'tneed one.
According to the results, Icould do without an Apple Watch,
which you know.
What's funny about this is Itook it twice once with my, with
my pre you know, pre-watch,pre-new Apple Watch point of

in both cases I don't need anApple Watch or anything else.

Yup, and so I did the quiz.
Yup, and, not surprisingly, itwas like oh, you seem to like
health and fitness, it'd begreat for you.

I was like you know what a surprise Health and fitness for
the guy who's building a gym inthis garage yes, but you know
what's funny, the first goaround with that it's like do
you have a smart watch now?
Tom (04:39):
And I was like, yes, I do, do you like it?
Yes, I do.
And then it immediately went toyou do not need a smart watch.
Jeff (04:47):
I was like well, wait, we're not done.
Yeah, wait, I don't need one,because I have one, I get it, I
get it.
Tom (04:52):
I get it Because initially I thought oh, maybe it's like a
gag quiz and it just tellseverybody like nope, don't need
it.
Jeff (04:58):
No, it was.
I mean, it was interestingbecause if I really look at what
the you know, I answered allthose questions honestly, both
pre-watch and post-watch, and Ireally don't need one Need is a
you know the things that theysay that you really, you know
might want it for, which is notjust the fitness stuff.
Tom (05:19):
So and that's really kind of what I'm using.
I think they mentioned likenotifications and not using your
phone as much and stuff likethat, which.
I selected yes for all thatbecause, like I don't know if
you've done this like well, youknow where I know, when you
first got it, you weren'twearing it all the time.
Like you were wearing it a lot,but not all the time, I think.
Jeff (05:37):
Yeah, I don't wear it to bed, so I'm not using any of the
sleep features, and I do wearit pretty much every day.
You know, even when I'mlounging around the house
reading a book or doingsomething like that.
I'll tell you what books I'mreading, because those might be
getting my heart rate up.
Well, maybe it's magazines.

I don't.

Anyway the you know I sometimes will forget to put it
on immediately when I get up inthe morning, but it's not.
It's not a huge deal for me.
I am happy to have it, but itneeded and I think that's a fair
point about that particular.

I probably don't need one, andcould I like if somebody said
you have to take it off yourwrist, you know, as they used to
say, when I was in you knowchurch school camp, somebody
came with a gun and said youdidn't go to church camp, did

Bible school and we made crafts and stuff.

For me it wasn't so chill.

Anyway, if somebody came inwith a gun and said you need to
get rid of your Apple watch, orget shot in the head and hear

Apple watch.
Well, there were a couple ofdays this week I've probably
been like, well, give me asecond, but it's Friday, we're
through all that.
But the reason I asked if youwere the biggest thing for me
with the watch is like I'vegotten so used to the phone
being quiet all day, like notfrom the notifications and
things, and obviously I couldhave just tuned that up on the

phone and and taken care of alot of that stuff.
But but I have, you know, I'vehad it a long time and now I've
just kind of I'm very accustomedto it.
And Tim Apple said in the introto the to the event there the
other day they were going totalk about it in a minute, but
he said that you know they'rekey components over lives, and
I'm paraphrasing a bit.

But he was like and I bet ifyou left one at home you'd go
back and get it.
And he's right, cause I've donethat.
Jeff (08:04):
Have you?
Oh yeah, If I left it at home.
Tom (08:06):
I would not go and get it, and I went back and got it.
I did it one day and I didn'tgo back and get it, and then the
next time I did go back and getit cause I couldn't take it.
I was like this this, thisphone is driving me nuts.

Really yeah, so I have all my notifications turned off
anyway.

So except for me and for the most part of my watch.

So it's, you know it's a watch that collects data on me.
So great it does.

And To be frank, in our lastshow, you know, you asked me
what I'm looking forward to andyou know I said I'm not much and
I'm not expecting much.
And guess what?
I got what I expected.
Yeah it was disappointed.
It's usual.
No, it was.
It was you know Cool phone.
I ordered mine.
I told you I was gonna.

Anyway, that wasn't a thing, Iordered mine today Um you were
still 13, right.
I want a 13 in you know time.
It's pristine.
By the way, everybody wants by13.
It's brand frigging spankingnew.
But I I ordered a new one and I, you know I knew that I was

gonna do that and my son's gonnado the same thing.
You know he's gonna hop off andhe's gonna pick his up, I think
on Friday, because he's now inLA, so he'll go and and grab one

I Wasn't expecting too much.

sitting in some smokers.

Jason Snell posted pictures , yeah, and it's right up for
his hands-on stuff that he didand and he had a picture of the
yellow one from.
You know, looking at the backand, Like most of the phone,
look fine, but it was that bumpout around the camera and, like
the yellow it did, it lookedlike it had been sitting in the,
the smokers lounge or at thebowling alley in 1976 for about

That's when the aliens brought the tech here originally
could be.
But, yeah, so, yeah, so go ahead.
Anyway, they're back to, backto watch land.
Since we started with watches,there are two, yeah, two, new
watches that have been released.
There's a Apple series, a watchseries nine in the ultra to,

apple watch ultra to, and notanything particularly
significant in terms ofAdvancement, if you will, I
think there are a couple of nicethings.
You've got sirion device forall of them, so, rather than the
usual, you know, hold on whileI get the answer, hold having
(11:43):
trouble connecting to the answer.
Yeah, that a lot of that'sgonna get get handled locally on
the device itself, which isgreat.
You know that.
Actually, speaking of privacyconcerns, is is something that
you know.
Apple's decent with privacy,but God knows what they'll be in
the future In in you know whatmay or may not be sold off, but

at present you know they'redecent.
But the fact that that, siri,your questions are gonna be
handled on board the device thatyou're using is Significant.
That means, first of all,processing time should be faster

We'll say it would be more reliable, because it's not Well
for the queries that it canperform on device without
needing to go across theinternet to Figure out they said
what's my name?
Jeff (12:33):
I'm liable, yeah.

Yeah, notice, they didn't say accurate, they just said
reliable.
Whatever that means, yeah, butalso gets access to health data
so you can have Siri logworkouts, or do I think they
Chose someone logging their bodyweight like or was in one of
the slides?
Maybe it was like Siri.

My body weight is 125 and itputs it into the health app.
I mean, all those littleconveniences are nice, yeah.
Jeff (13:00):
I, you know it's kind of interesting to maybe, maybe you
can I don't track any of thisstuff in health presently, but
nor will I be doing it on mywatch but you should be able to
then, I would presume, say youknow, I had a bowl oatmeal with
walnuts and milk and In a bananafor breakfast or something like
that, and it should be able toadd that.

I would think as well, if ithas access, you know, to that
and I don't know whether that'strue or not, you know?
Tom (13:27):
if it wasn't Siri, I'd say I probably could.
Did you see the Story thatthey're spending a ton of money
for, like the next gen Sirithat's supposed to come out next
year?
Jeff (13:44):
Oh no, I didn't.
Yeah, thank you, I don't knowwhen was that that was on.
Tom (13:48):
I can't remember who reported it.
I saw it on one of the rumorsite, mac rumors 95.
But yes, it looks.
The rumor mill says bigsecurity, security chase, big
Siri update is is out theresometime in the next year or two

Yeah, we'll see them.
You know which?

I've kind of felt that thatMakes sense because they're
doing nothing with it now.
No, and so it's like okay,they've got to know it's not
great.
We've talked about that a bunch.
So, you know, maybe this islike the next gen and then at
the developer conference nextyear, which should probably
still heavily focused on anApple vision pro, because that's

coming out.
They did give an update on thattoo.
Tim Apple said they're still ontrack to ship that early next
year.
Yes, so that'll be Still on itsway.
So keep saving up your pennies,everybody, and I'm gonna come

Maybe this is about half price and research purpose.
Tom (14:54):
Well, we are planning to get one, at least sounds coming
down.
Jeff (14:58):

know.

So what else did they do withthe series 9?
They Brighten the screen, soit's 2000 nits, which I believe
is what the ultra one is that wehave, which?
Jeff (15:19):
is great, so that should be a nice nice little bump.
Tom (15:23):
And let's talk about that new gesture.
They showed the double tap.
Jeff (15:27):
Yeah, tap, tap with your little fingers to make it to
magic which, by the way, isalready available on your watch
if you have that with negligiblygood.
So this apparently is gonna betracking that better.
But the nice thing about it, ifit works as advertised, is In,
and I find this actually all thetime when I'm cooking, you know
(15:48):
I'll set a timer or two.
I mean it's beauty of the watch, you know, get the get serious
to set a couple of timers so youhave a couple of things going
at a that are kicking off atdifferent times.
But half the time I get myfingers full of stuff when a
timer goes off and then it'swash my hands and go, reach and
grab it or goop up my watch andhandle it.

That way this new featureallows you to tape.
Here's a tip, okay.
Tom (16:15):
Use the tip of your nose.
Oh God Works great, I'm sure itdoes it does, you don't have to
wash your hands on.
Jeff (16:22):
Just look at my nose in profile here and you're just
giving me crap because, bro, Igot the same thing.
Tom (16:28):
Man, I'm telling you it works.
So that's why you know it works.
This is what I do for you, jeff.
I do all these weird randomtests and report back to enhance
your life.

I'm just describing thatgesture.

You can tap two fingers together, and tapping those two
fingers together will actuallydo a couple of things.
Some it will walk you through.
Can potentially walk youthrough the various fields on
whatever's on your screen, butit will stop a timer or answer a
phone or do a number of otherthings.
So hands full and you need tobe able to answer the phone or

do something like that.
That little double finger tapPretty cool.
So we'll see a new gesture forApple Watch that is built in.
It is not backwards compatible.
This is only going to be in thenew Apple Watch Ultra 2 and in
the Apple Watch Series 9.
Tom (17:27):
Right, and we were talking about that the other day because
when we were messaging back andforth when the event was going
on, I was like, well, you saidthat's very interesting and then
I was like I feel like that wasa thing Like in one of the dot
updates for WatchOS 8, maybethat they put that in there and
they did.
But I think, like you alludedto there a couple of minutes ago

, that the S9 chip and I thinksome of that stuff they've got
built in there will make it morereliable, because you can go
into accessibility in the watchsettings now and they've got
those gestures that you can goin and there's a double tap in
there.
You can do it.
Jeff (18:04):
Like you said, it's hit or miss and so I suspect yeah, you
said, your son turned it on.
He did it was junk.
Tom (18:10):
Well, it's one of the.
I think it's great that they'veput it in there before now and
because, for the people thatneed that, I think that's
fantastic.
Yeah, absolutely.
But I think it's one of thosethat needs some tuning, and it
sounds like they're tuning thesensors and processors and
things like that to make it morereliable, more usable.

So they're pushing all thatstuff in the right direction and
, if I remember, correctly.
Jeff (18:37):
It is paying attention now to blood pressure changes and
changes in what's going on, todetect the actual risk when
you're doing it, as opposed tomaybe it wasn't, as I don't know

I don't know how it workedpreviously, but this is
something new, so we'll see howit works.

I'm not going to see, becauseI'm not going to get an S9, nor
am I going to get an Ultra II.
That's not happening to me.

Yeah, my son wants to get a new watch.
He's been using my series four.

And so he may get one come Christmas time or something.
So I'll have him try it.

So yeah, that's interesting, so that's a nice
little feature.
So we talked about 2000 NITs,so a brighter Apple Watch series
S9, the Apple Watch Ultra II,also S9 chip.
3000 NITs, so super D-Duperbright in daylight.
And then there is a new watchface which I'm very happy to

point out.
If you're on any of the betasor when the new release of iOS
comes out probably next weeksometime, maybe the week after
that, that, if you have an AppleWatch Ultra, that's available
to you.
It's really nice watch face.
It's again very, verycomplicated in terms of what's
on here and I haven't updated alot of things, but it's a pretty

nice look as far as new watchfaces go.
So my complaint last episodeabout the fact that after I was
playing around with betas for alittle bit that I didn't need
Charlie Brown and Snoopy or theother I can't remember what the
other name of the other one was,but this is kind of a nice

addition.
I like this, but, again, onlyavailable for Apple Watch Ultra.
Tom (20:39):
So not going to be.
And they said in the event, Ikind of had my ire a little bit
they said it's an exclusive, yes, modular Ultra.
And I was like you've got to bekidding.

Yeah, that would have been kind of a bonus.
It's a horrible salty aboutthat.
Tom (20:52):
I complained to you about it.
Yes, you did, I did.
I complained a lot this weekand I'm trying to stop.
No, you're not, but people werequick to show on Reddit and
other places that if you wererunning the latest phone beta,
latest watch beta, that it wasin fact there's.
Hopefully it'll stay.
Maybe they made a mistake andthey're going to take it out?
Jeff (21:10):
I hope not, because I like it.
I'm using it and I mean, whywould they do that?
You know, why would they knockit out?
I will say that the other thingthat's nice about this is it's
hard to show you here, but onthe old version of the modular
watch face that they hadoriginally for the Apple Watch

Ultra, you could change it so itwas red at night and colorful
during the day, but to do thatyou had to turn the dial to make
it change.
Well, in this case it's usingthe ambient light sensor that's
already in the watch and it isactually.
(21:52):
It changes when it gets dark.
So it's a really nice feature.
I kind of like it.
I didn't like to have it on allthe time because then you have
to think about turning it off.
The fact that it kind of doesit on its own is brilliant.
It works really well and when Ihave my hand down in the
Jeffrey Dahmer's basement itdoes go to that reddish color.
So that's a really nice feature.

I like that about that.
I'm kind of surprised that somefeature like that doesn't show
up on other watch faces.
It doesn't feel like it needsto be just a yeah, as we've said
before, it doesn't seem like weknow, tim Apple, that you're

One of the things that there'sno reason that Apple can't pop
out a couple of watch faces aquarter, just for giggles.
I mean it would just be as likehere's part of the update Get a
new watch face.
It seems such a simple crowdpleaser.

Yeah, well done Convocations,but yeah, I'm a hot mess, but it

It makes sense just to add alittle joy in that way
throughout the year a couple oftimes.
But I guess the other side ofit is they've never really done

that with wallpapers and thingslike that you get the wallpaper
that comes with the.
you know the OS that you'reworking with and have a nice
year and so that's kind of wherewe're at.

Yeah, it's kind of funny for a company that makes such I
don't know kind of cool and funproducts and they're kind of
boring.
Sometimes.
The colors will get to thecolors on the phones here in a
few minutes.
But what colors?
Yeah, yeah, spoiler.
So yeah, I wish they would domore with the faces too.

But the way it is what it isright.
We did get some new bands aspart of the new watches.
Of course, you can also get thebands separately some new band
colors for the ultra.
So I think that's what I waslooking forward to Last show
when we talked about it.
As it's a little preview, wedid.

I've got another project that I could put $100 towards,
and maybe after that's done, Tobuy a barbell.
Barbell yeah, barbell is about240 so.

Anyhow, anything else on the watch is no yeah, there I
think important to note no newwatch colors.
A lot of people gonna be nottoo happy about that.
I think they wanted some darkerversions.

Yeah, we're pink on the s9 on right.
I'm sorry on the other twopeople were that space, gray or
black or the darker color, yeah,which will probably look really
nice on the ultra watch threeyeah, that's coming.
I mean I can't imagine and theywon't eventually do it, but
when they need to go salesthey'll do it Right and, who

knows, they might already haveone of those up their sleeve.
Jeff (25:04):
I mean, these are titanium , right?
Yeah, so yeah, and it's holdingyou've seen that there are some
colors Titanium, wise, yeah,when it comes to and I will say
the titanium is holding up verywell.
Yeah, I you know what.
Now I'm gonna keep my mouthshut, but no scratches, no
anything.
Tom (25:22):
Yeah, and I've clunked it good a couple of times and I'm
like, but nothing.
Jeff (25:26):
So I think part of it being flat.
Tom (25:28):
Yeah, it makes a huge difference, yeah and I think it
looks great when it's flat,because you don't get all the
light Refractions and stuff fromthe you know the lights in the
sun and all that stuff.
I think it looks really great.
So maybe the rumors for theseries 10 Watch next year that
it's gonna have like a bigredesign, so maybe they'll bring
the flat face down to it atthat point yeah, we'll see, yeah

, so anyway, it's a couple applewatches buying recommendations

I get it Because initially I thought oh, maybe it's like a

I mean, it was interestingbecause if I really look at what
the you know, I answered allthose questions honestly, both
pre-watch and post-watch, and Ireally don't need one Need is a
you know the things that theysay that you really, you know
might want it for, which is notjust the fitness stuff.

So and that's really kind of what I'm using.
I think they mentioned likenotifications and not using your
phone as much and stuff likethat, which.
I selected yes for all thatbecause, like I don't know if
you've done this like well, youknow where I know, when you
first got it, you weren'twearing it all the time.
Like you were wearing it a lot,but not all the time, I think.

Yeah, I don't wear it to bed, so I'm not using any of the
sleep features, and I do wearit pretty much every day.
You know, even when I'mlounging around the house
reading a book or doingsomething like that.
I'll tell you what books I'mreading, because those might be
getting my heart rate up.
Well, maybe it's magazines.

Anyway the you know I sometimes will forget to put it
on immediately when I get up inthe morning, but it's not.
It's not a huge deal for me.

But the reason I asked if youwere the biggest thing for me
with the watch is like I'vegotten so used to the phone
being quiet all day, like notfrom the notifications and
things, and obviously I couldhave just tuned that up on the

phone and and taken care of alot of that stuff.
But but I have, you know, I'vehad it a long time and now I've
just kind of I'm very accustomedto it.
And Tim Apple said in the introto the to the event there the
other day they were going totalk about it in a minute, but

But he was like and I bet ifyou left one at home you'd go
back and get it.

watches that have been released.

significant in terms ofAdvancement, if you will, I
think there are a couple of nicethings.
You've got sirion device forall of them, so, rather than the
usual, you know, hold on whileI get the answer, hold having

trouble connecting to the answer.
Yeah, that a lot of that'sgonna get get handled locally on
the device itself, which isgreat.
You know that.
Actually, speaking of privacyconcerns, is is something that

Apple's decent with privacy,but God knows what they'll be in

at present you know they'redecent.
But the fact that that, siri,your questions are gonna be
handled on board the device thatyou're using is Significant.
That means, first of all,processing time should be faster

We'll say it would be more reliable, because it's not Well
for the queries that it canperform on device without
needing to go across theinternet to Figure out they said
what's my name?

I'm liable, yeah.

Yeah, notice, they didn't say accurate, they just said
reliable.
Whatever that means, yeah, butalso gets access to health data
so you can have Siri logworkouts, or do I think they
Chose someone logging their bodyweight like or was in one of
the slides?
Maybe it was like Siri.

My body weight is 125 and itputs it into the health app.
I mean, all those littleconveniences are nice, yeah.

I, you know it's kind of interesting to maybe, maybe you
can I don't track any of thisstuff in health presently, but
nor will I be doing it on mywatch but you should be able to
then, I would presume, say youknow, I had a bowl oatmeal with
walnuts and milk and In a bananafor breakfast or something like
that, and it should be able toadd that.

I would think as well, if ithas access, you know, to that
and I don't know whether that'strue or not, you know?

if it wasn't Siri, I'd say I probably could.
Did you see the Story thatthey're spending a ton of money
for, like the next gen Sirithat's supposed to come out next
year?
Jeff (13:44):
Oh no, I didn't.
Yeah, thank you, I don't knowwhen was that that was on.

I can't remember who reported it.
I saw it on one of the rumorsite, mac rumors 95.
But yes, it looks.
The rumor mill says bigsecurity, security chase, big
Siri update is is out theresometime in the next year or two

I've kind of felt that thatMakes sense because they're
doing nothing with it now.
No, and so it's like okay,they've got to know it's not
great.
We've talked about that a bunch.
So, you know, maybe this islike the next gen and then at

still heavily focused on anApple vision pro, because that's

coming out.
They did give an update on thattoo.
Tim Apple said they're still ontrack to ship that early next
year.

Well, we are planning to get one, at least sounds coming

So what else did they do withthe series 9?
They Brighten the screen, soit's 2000 nits, which I believe
is what the ultra one is that wehave, which?

is great, so that should be a nice nice little bump.

And let's talk about that new gesture.
They showed the double tap.
Jeff (15:27):
Yeah, tap, tap with your little fingers to make it to
magic which, by the way, isalready available on your watch
if you have that with negligiblygood.
So this apparently is gonna betracking that better.
But the nice thing about it, ifit works as advertised, is In,
and I find this actually all thetime when I'm cooking, you know

I'll set a timer or two.
I mean it's beauty of the watch, you know, get the get serious
to set a couple of timers so youhave a couple of things going
at a that are kicking off atdifferent times.
But half the time I get myfingers full of stuff when a
timer goes off and then it'swash my hands and go, reach and
grab it or goop up my watch andhandle it.

That way this new featureallows you to tape.
Here's a tip, okay.
Tom (16:15):
Use the tip of your nose.
Oh God Works great, I'm sure itdoes it does, you don't have to
wash your hands on.

Just look at my nose in profile here and you're just
giving me crap because, bro, Igot the same thing.

Man, I'm telling you it works.
So that's why you know it works.
This is what I do for you, jeff.
I do all these weird randomtests and report back to enhance
your life.

You can tap two fingers together, and tapping those two
fingers together will actuallydo a couple of things.
Some it will walk you through.
Can potentially walk youthrough the various fields on
whatever's on your screen, butit will stop a timer or answer a
phone or do a number of otherthings.
So hands full and you need tobe able to answer the phone or

do something like that.
That little double finger tapPretty cool.
So we'll see a new gesture forApple Watch that is built in.
It is not backwards compatible.
This is only going to be in thenew Apple Watch Ultra 2 and in
the Apple Watch Series 9.

Right, and we were talking about that the other day because
when we were messaging back andforth when the event was going
on, I was like, well, you saidthat's very interesting and then
I was like I feel like that wasa thing Like in one of the dot
updates for WatchOS 8, maybethat they put that in there and
they did.
But I think, like you alludedto there a couple of minutes ago

, that the S9 chip and I thinksome of that stuff they've got
built in there will make it morereliable, because you can go
into accessibility in the watchsettings now and they've got
those gestures that you can goin and there's a double tap in
there.
You can do it.

Like you said, it's hit or miss and so I suspect yeah, you
said, your son turned it on.
He did it was junk.

Well, it's one of the.
I think it's great that they'veput it in there before now and
because, for the people thatneed that, I think that's
fantastic.

But I think it's one of thosethat needs some tuning, and it
sounds like they're tuning thesensors and processors and
things like that to make it morereliable, more usable.

So they're pushing all thatstuff in the right direction and
, if I remember, correctly.

It is paying attention now to blood pressure changes and
changes in what's going on, todetect the actual risk when
you're doing it, as opposed tomaybe it wasn't, as I don't know

I don't know how it workedpreviously, but this is
something new, so we'll see howit works.

am I going to get an Ultra II.

It's really nice watch face.

playing around with betas for alittle bit that I didn't need

I like this, but, again, onlyavailable for Apple Watch Ultra.

And they said in the event, Ikind of had my ire a little bit
they said it's an exclusive, yes, modular Ultra.

Yeah, that would have been kind of a bonus.
It's a horrible salty aboutthat.

I complained to you about it.

I complained a lot this weekand I'm trying to stop.
No, you're not, but people werequick to show on Reddit and
other places that if you wererunning the latest phone beta,
latest watch beta, that it wasin fact there's.
Hopefully it'll stay.
Maybe they made a mistake andthey're going to take it out?

I hope not, because I like it.
I'm using it and I mean, whywould they do that?
You know, why would they knockit out?
I will say that the other thingthat's nice about this is it's
hard to show you here, but onthe old version of the modular
watch face that they hadoriginally for the Apple Watch

Ultra, you could change it so itwas red at night and colorful
during the day, but to do thatyou had to turn the dial to make
it change.
Well, in this case it's usingthe ambient light sensor that's
already in the watch and it isactually.

It changes when it gets dark.
So it's a really nice feature.
I kind of like it.
I didn't like to have it on allthe time because then you have
to think about turning it off.
The fact that it kind of doesit on its own is brilliant.
It works really well and when Ihave my hand down in the

what do you do with the old onesthat you can't use it.
You already have 50 of rightyou know you can't, you can't,
can't use those anymore.
So there definitely are thingsthat Apple does that make it so

You know, not to mention how some of this stuff gets

Well, well, that was an interesting thing about that as

The the fact that they're doingrecycled cobalt for the
batteries is really interestingto me.

And cobalt and the the miningof cobalt is horrible and it's
you know, it is something thatBasically uses slave labor.

We did get some release dates,my friend, for the new software,
yes, ios and iPad OS 17releases very soon.
It will be on Monday, september18th, which is when this show
will release, so it could beright around the same time that
shows up in your app.
Mac OS and Noma watch OS 10will be then too, and TV OS, I

imagine as well.
Can't remember that onespecifically.

OS is about to come out, because the thing, the thing
that always happens is the thefeature that's supposed to allow
you to turn on your televisionStops working.

Arc is what they call it Mac OSand Noma is Is coming out the
following week, on September26th, so that's, that's pretty
good.
There've been some instanceswhere the the iOS stuff comes
out and Mac OS kind of lagsbehind three or four weeks, but
this year they're pretty close,so those are very close to being

released and we'll talk aboutthat.
I have not used any of the iOSBetas, so that will all be new
for me.
Watch OS the same, of course.
So Noma beta I've used a lotand has been pretty good.

storage options.
So to date, you've been able toget 50 gigs, 200 gigs, two
terabytes.
Yep, of course, you get yourfive gigs for free, thanks, tim.
So remember, every time Appletells you that customers are the

most important thing, they showyour love with that free five
gigs.
So yeah anyhow, you can get asix terabyte plan.
Yes and it's off terabyte.
The six terabyte will be 2999 amonth.
12 terabyte will be 5999 amonth.
I have not seen Anything yet onhow that would be factored in

to like the subscription Appleone subscription plans.
Jeff (54:47):
Yeah, I was wondering about that.
I haven't seen anything either.

So and I think we talked about both on the two terabyte
plan.

Pretty comfortably I think yeah, I don't like.
Tom (54:54):
I still got a terabyte to go, but it is nice for folks
that need it to get up to thatthose larger ones, if they want
to use that.

Well, and especially if you're on family plans, I think
that that's the, that's thebigger place where that matters,
especially as these phones arestarting to take bigger and
bigger pictures and everybody'sdoing their stuff in the cloud.
That's me.
Tom (55:14):
It's gonna eat up that space, yeah, and I think it
would be nice if and I thinkthey could almost do it at this
point with the six and twelveplans coming If they made time
machine and iCloud backupservice rather than just local
drive, because on laptop so fewpeople remember to plug in the
drive to back stuff up.

Yeah.

And so with those larger capacities.
Tom (55:37):
That would be an enticing offering, I think, if they just
all of a sudden it's timemachine and iCloud or whatever
they call it.
It's probably just iCloudbackup for Mac.
Jeff (55:46):
That would be nice.
Yeah, it would be nice.
I'm gonna say again back playsthe way you need to go.

Yes, and they got a new version coming out, version nine
Back plays Okay.
Yeah, just saw that the otherday rolling out this month.
But the better restoreinterface, they said nice.

The the very best cloud backup.

the architecture for timemachine.

let's say, unless they do it theway they do it in iOs, then now

It's old, it's been around for a long time.

Oh, yes, it's great.

Yeah, but I think, with everything being so mobile, it's
just, you know, just make theMac just like the iOs devices,
let them back up to the cloud.
Yes, I agree, and it's past dueto put a cellular chip in Macs
as well, so we can get acellular Mac book.
That would be great.

Yep, you got them in iPads.
