Andrew Ronchetto (00:16):
Hello, and welcome to the very first
episode of beyond the move.
I'm your host, Andrew Ronquetto, and I am so thrilled to have you
here with me today.
You know, this podcast, isn'tjust about tips and strategies.
It's really about transformationand together we're going to dive
into what it means to live andto work and to grow with

(00:37):
purpose.
And that really starts with oneof the most powerful questions
out there.
What is your why?
So let me ask you this.
When was the last time you trulythought about your why?
Not just the surface levelstuff, not what you're doing or
how you're doing it, but Thedeeper reasoning behind it all,

(00:58):
what gets you out of bed in themorning, what fuels the choices
you're making.
And for many of us, life movesso fast that we don't stop to
reflect.
But here's the thing, when wedo, everything changes.
When we start that reflections, our decisions become clearer,
our motivations grow stronger, and even the toughest challenges
in front of us.

(01:19):
Maybe take on a new meaning andcompletely transform the way we
look at life and how we growourselves.
So a while ago, I met someone, afriend of mine now who
completely refrains theconversation starter of Well,
what do you do for a living?
I mean, you know, that age oldUnited States, I hate to say it
thing of how we introduceourselves to other people.

(01:43):
And instead of doing that, whathe would say is he would be
like, what are you passionateabout?
And it was such a simple shift, but it opened this door to a
deeper conversation that.
Not only went beyond job titlesand tasks, but really went to
the truth, the heart, honestly,of what mattered to me or to

(02:03):
others.
And so it was interestingbecause I'd get into these
gatherings that he would haveand he would bring together
strangers and within minutes, they were talking about
everything that just lit themup, how they're helping others,
creating, exploring, gardening.
Building communities, you nameit, their jobs though, barely
came up in the entireconversation and they were

(02:24):
connected because of what theywere passionate about, not just
what they did in their work.
And that really became anoutstanding representation of
what it meant to understand yourwhy.
So at the heart of this episodeand what we're going to focus on
today is this idea of exploringwhat purpose driven growth is.
Why it's a game changer and howyou can harness it to transform

(02:47):
your life and your work.
And along that, we're going todo a little bit of groundwork.
I hate to say it.
It'll help us though in the longrun with this conversation, but
we're going to touch on some ofthe foundational elements of
what supports growth, includingthe eight dimensions of holistic
wellness.
And we're also going to talkabout growth and the concept of
the ripple effect and how, whatwe do and what we experience and

(03:09):
how we come forth in life.
Impacts people and thecommunities around us.
So by the end of this episode, Ihope you're walking away with
not just a clear understandingof what purpose driven growth is
or what it looks like, but alsosome actionable steps of what
you can do to take a stepforward today with more clarity

(03:29):
and intention.
So let's dive right in here andlet's kick it off by talking
about what is purpose drivengrowth.
I mean, there's buzzword outthere and I'm going to tell you.
So, it doesn't mean it's justabout like changing your life.
This is very simple for me.
It's about how you show up inthe lives of others, but most

(03:50):
importantly for yourself.
That is about as simple of a waythat I can describe it.
It's how you show up for othersas well as yourself in life.
And that's where the ripplebegins.
It begins with you and yourpresence in life.
And it is fascinating.
So to dive a little bit deeperinto purpose driven growth, I'm

(04:12):
going to start off with thisquestion.
Have you ever felt that you wereputting all this effort into
something, the grinding, thehustling, maybe it was something
at work and it was just goingnowhere.
It could have been arelationship.
It could have been a personalgoal.
But the point is, is you'rebusy, you were checking boxes,

(04:32):
you were hitting outcomes, butit just felt like something was
off.
And that feeling takes me backto an example of my analogy to
this, which really is running.
You know, I love to run.
I still wish I ran more today, but we'll get into that I'm sure
in a later episode.
But there's something for meabout just being outside and

(04:55):
finding a rhythm and justmoving.
And the thing was, is when I wastraining for long races, there
were these moments that I had togo on the treadmill.
And this isn't to knock anybodythat loves a treadmill, but I
dreaded it.
It didn't matter how many milesI needed to log or had logged.
I just felt like I was goingnowhere, not making any
progress.

(05:16):
I was looking at the same wall.
I was listening to the hum ofthe belt.
And it was just draining.
And without a sense of purpose, even a 20 minute, no, honestly,
three minutes on the treadmillfelt like forever.
And if you could imagine for asecond, just stepping off the
treadmill.

(05:36):
hitting the open road, there'sfresh air, there's a change of
scenery, there's cleardestination where I'm going, I
can see it, whether it's up a,you know, massive hill or
mountain, the point being isevery step of that felt
intentional.
And in that point, you're notjust moving, you're moving
towards.
Something that matters to you.
And this is the whole essence ofwhat purpose driven growth feels

(05:58):
like.
It's this point where I don'tjust feel like I'm in this
endless cycle.
It's about how I'm not justworking harder and it's hitting
goals.
It's about how I'm aligning myactions to something bigger.
And it's about making sure thatwe're working towards things
that.
We really value.
So when you grow with purpose, let's come back to purpose

(06:22):
driven growth.
There's four things that reallycome out of this for you.
One, every step feels moreintentional.
It feels meaningful.
And because it feels meaningful.
Number two, the energy you getfrom taking that action, that
step is something that actuallyfuels you more.
It fuels your intentions.
It gives you more energy.

(06:42):
So, It's not only justmeaningful, it gives you the
energy to keep going.
But ironically, because of it,it also helps you make clear
decisions.
It helps you understand whattruly matters to you.
So you say yes faster, but youalso say no quicker as well.
And finally it feels like youare more authentic to yourself
and to others and how you wantto represent yourself to the

(07:06):
world.
So if I go back to my treadmillmoment there for a moment, or
you go to that treadmill momentin your life, Think about what
it would feel like if you juststepped off it, you stopped
running in circles, and youstarted moving with intention.
And just hold on to that for amoment, uh, as we keep going
through this conversation, because I think that'll help you

(07:28):
start to understand what I meanwhen I started this to, by
saying purpose driven growth ishow we show up.
It's how we show up toourselves, how we show up to
others in life.
It's that simple, but it'sbecause of that simplicity that
I think it really truly helps usunderstand.
What it is and really tounderstand what it is and how to

(07:49):
get towards it as we understandour why in life, we really need
to start building a foundationbecause you can't sustain
purpose driven growth if youdon't have a foundation.
And it's not just about mindset,it's.
Honestly to us about balance, you know, the thing is, is when
you're out of balance in life,it can really impact not just

(08:12):
what's happening, whether youare growing or whether you are
in a good spot in life, it justreally has these, uh, impacts to
your belief and.
And to others, we'll talk aboutthe ripple effect here in a
second.
But the point being is that witha lack of balance, it's really
hard to get after purpose drivengrowth because you're not

(08:32):
showing up the way you reallyintend to for yourself and
others.
So building a strong foundationis about impacting every part of
your life.
And this for us is where theeight dimensions of holistic
wellness come in because they'rea great representation.
Of all the areas in your lifethat contribute to overall
wellbeing and engagement andreally outcomes at the end of

(08:55):
the day.
Um, so they're not just about, you know, focusing on areas that
are out of balance.
This whole conversation is aboutthe effects of each other on one
another.
And that's what excites me aboutthe conversation on this
podcast.
It's like if you were to look ata table for a moment and you
just kicked out one of the legson it, I mean, what's going to

(09:17):
happen at the very least isgoing to be wobbly.
But worst of all, it couldalmost become unstable and
false.
So thinking about holisticwellness in the context of
purpose driven growth really canapply in the same way here.
And here's why.
The eight dimensions focus onall areas of life.
So the three we always hearabout, like the physical, the

(09:40):
emotional, the spiritual, we seeit materialize in lots of
different ways in our lifethrough the apps we engage with
through the experiences we have, but there's five others we don't
talk about and I'll, I'll driveinto these a little bit more,
but I just want to hit them on.
Straight away, just in caseyou've never heard of them.
It's the professional or yourcareer, a large part of our

(10:02):
life.
I talk about that a lot withfolks.
Uh, it is about theintellectual, how we grow, how
we learn.
It's about the social, it'sabout the environmental, and
it's also about the, thefinancial.
So if you take those three,we're always talking about, you
know, physical wellness is allabout how you're taking care of
yourself, your body, you'refueling it, you're moving it,

(10:22):
you're letting it rest and.
This can come down to some ofthe most simple things in life.
Like, do you get enough sleep?
Do you eat well?
And I'm not, I'm going to putwell into brackets here because
there's lots of ways to look atit.
We're not all the same, but doyou eat well?
Do you drink enough water?
I mean, there are some thingsthere that matter.
Do you move?

(10:42):
Do you exercise?
A lot of things are baked intophysical wellness.
And that really leads intoemotional wellness, where also
there's a lot of things inthere.
You know, how are you feeling?
How are you handling stress?
Is it in a healthy way?
I can tell you, for me, I wasway out of whack on the stress
side of it because of work.

(11:02):
And that really started to showitself over time.
It's something You know, we allhave to deal with, so emotional
wellness is just as important asphysical.
Uh, another one, intellectual, you know, are you learning?
Are you growing?
Are you staying curious aboutlife?
Uh, the social side of wellness.
The number four here, are youbuilding strong connections,

(11:23):
meaningful connections withothers, maybe a partner, a
significant other, your family, your friends, work colleagues,
social wellness is important.
Number five, financial.
So we're getting around thecurve here.
You know, are your financialdecisions aligned with your
values?
Are you in a good spotfinancially?

(11:44):
Like, are you in, you know, living within your means?
Financial wellness is important.
spiritual.
Do you feel like you'reconnected to something bigger
than yourself?
And I mean, this in the broadestsense can be nature.
It can be your community or evenjust your sense of purpose in a
broader sense.
So spiritual can mean a lot ofthings for folks.

(12:04):
environmental, you know, doesyour physical environment where
you live, maybe an apartment ora house, support your well
being, the way you feel when youwake up in the morning, is it
there, is it in zen,professional.
Uh, and you know, does your workexcite you?
Does it align with yourstrengths and values?
The point being here is theseeight items, the physical, the

(12:26):
mental, the, or the emotional,as I said, the spiritual, the
professional, the career, the.
Financial, the environmental, the intellectual, and the social
are so fundamentally importantto having harmony.
And they're the basis of thisfoundation that supports your

(12:48):
growth.
So when one of those is off, andI'm going to use my example here
in a moment, it can feel like awarning light Like, you know,
when you see the warning lighton your car and the check engine
light comes on and it's like, boop, boop, and it's orange,
like, Oh, I gotta go get intothe mechanic here, but thing is
the car is still running.
And, and that's kind of trueabout holistic wellness in some

(13:11):
way, shapes and forms, you couldbe out of sync with one of the
dimensions, but it's not likeyou're, you know, hopefully
you're not just going to passout, uh, over, you know, today
and, uh, and, and leave thisworld.
So without us going to go intothat extreme there, the whole
intention of this is to say whenyou're.

(13:31):
Out of harmony or out of balancein one of these dimensions, it's
like a signal to tell you topause, to reflect and
recalibrate.
And that's partly because whenyou are out of sync with that,
you might be driving a hundredpercent towards your overall
purpose, overall intentions inlife, your why.

(13:52):
But when that balance ismissing, Um, you'll start to
realize, maybe not immediately, but shortly after that, there's
a problem.
And this is where I like to say,it's important to make sure that
when that light is flashing onthe dashboard, that you take a

(14:13):
moment, reflect and decide whereyou need to shift your focus.
So if you take that into whatwe've been talking about thus
far about purpose driven growthand where you feel you are
grabbing onto that one moment,uh, that you've been trying to
reflect on as we've been talkinghere, if you start to tie in all
these dimensions of holisticwellness in your life, you know,

(14:36):
part of this here is about justhaving awareness of what it
would mean to take the firststep for you to create balance.
And that might be difficult, butthat is one of the most
essential things that you can doto help with your own personal
growth.
So I've been throwing out a lothere and I just want to take a
pause because I want to makesure we don't miss out on

(14:59):
highlighting something that isso critical along this entire
conversation.
We're laying the groundwork hereon a lot of things like what it
to us is purpose driven growth,And then we're talking about all
these dimensions of holisticwellness and we could go deep on
every single one of them.
The point of bringing this outhere is because part of it is
talking about the macro, planning, thinking through it,

(15:23):
getting a vision together ofwhat is important to you.
And we can only do that when westart to understand, well, what
are all these differentdimensions that we should be
thinking about?
But that being said, I alsodon't want to freak you out.
Like, freaking you out would bea bad thing here.
It'd be like, oh, well, nottouching most of these things.
Might as well just, you know, disconnect and, and move on with

(15:46):
life.
And what I really want to tellyou is, is no.
You not focusing on every singleone of these dimensions right
now is okay.
In fact, not focusing on everysingle dimension, every moment
of your life is okay, because, and this is the big one, it's
important for you to also justrelax.

(16:09):
Growth.
Experience, all these thingscome with time and so if you're,
if you're trying to focus on allof them all at one time, it's
almost like you're just pullingyourself in every direction.
You can't do everything all atonce.
So I just want to, I just, that's why I want to pause here
for a moment and say it's okayif you haven't been thinking

(16:30):
about all of these dimensions.
It's okay if your why isevolving.
It should.
Just different points in lifechange all of that.
It's okay if you're going in anextreme in one direction, so
long as, and maybe this podcast, this episode triggers up for you
to say, wait a second, maybe Ishould stop for a moment and

(16:51):
reflect.
Doesn't mean you, you know, youtotally stop.
You know, blazing in thatdirection.
It just means that you start tobe more conscious about the
things happening in your life.
And that is probably the biggestthing you can take away from
these first two, uh, items we'retalking about.
The fact that we're starting tobring subconscious things to the

(17:13):
conscious.
Why we're doing what we'redoing, how we're showing up in
life, the things that help uscreate balance in life.
And that is what is importanthere.
So I don't want you to forgetthat.
I don't want you to freak out tosay, Oh my gosh, there's too
much here to focus on.
What I want you to do is juststop for a moment, recognize

(17:34):
where you're at, recognize howyou've gotten to where you are
today, whether you're happy withit, whether you want to continue
to evolve and then take it fromthere because talking about this
personally for a moment.
I was out of balance and Ididn't appreciate all the
different dimensions of holisticwellness.
And heck, I had friends andfamily telling me, you got to

(17:54):
slow down.
You need to, to back it off alittle.
And I was like, okay, whatever.
And, and it wasn't trying to bedisrespectful to them.
It was really being.
Uh, disrespectful to myself andappreciating what I was missing
that they were seeing that I wasso like, I tell people, I talk
about the sunburst chart and I'mjust way out in one extreme here

(18:17):
about work and profession andwhatnot.
And I wasn't taking care of myrelationships.
I wasn't focused on my healthwhen I, you know, come to amount
of sleep or eating.
Well, and so all of these thingsare interconnected and I just, I
was shrinking everything elsetowards the center and I was
jutting outwards in my, mycareer.

(18:38):
And I thought I was doing theright thing for myself and for
others around me, but thereality wasn't the case and it
ended up impacting me longterm.
You know, I.
I can't run as much, or Ihaven't been able to start
running yet the way I want to.
Um, you know, but I've been ableto, because of it, start to
reflect and find more time andspace for my family, which is

(18:58):
amazing.
And I'm happy about that.
I've been able to make sure Iget more sleep, which is
amazing.
I'm happy about that.
And all of these things, becauseI started to reflect, started to
realize that while there is amassive priority list of things
I want to accomplish in my life.
I'm also good with what I'mdoing right now.

(19:20):
And while I do want to continueto bring things in, and maybe
things get checked off, or, youknow, adjust my priorities, my
practices.
The point being is, is I'mconsciously looking at it.
So I, I just, I share thatpersonal story for you because
we're talking about purposedriven growth.
We're talking about all thesedimensions of holistic wellness,
and trying to tie it in for youto a personal moment I think is

(19:42):
critical to helping youunderstand and appreciate what
it means to recognize, take thatbreath, take that reflection,
and then maybe do somethingdifferent about it.
So when all these dimensions ofholistic wellness are in
harmony, you're able to bringout the best in yourself to
everything you do.
And, and that really brings meto the next thing, which is

(20:05):
about how your growth createsthese ripple effects and this
impact beyond yourself, extending to others, the
organizations you're a part of.
So this is a key thing for me,and I want to start this, uh,
this next and final segmentabout these concentric circles
of growth from the perspectiveof talking about.
Things foundationally and thatbegins with your beliefs.

(20:28):
We've talked about how holisticwellness builds that foundation.
Well, your beliefs are also apart of that foundation and
whether they're positive ornegative, they have an
incredible impact on youroutcomes.
So when you believe in yourpurpose and your ability to grow
and the possibility of change, those beliefs reinforce your

(20:49):
actions, your energy, and, andultimately your results.
And.
On one hand, negative beliefscan also impact your results,
those doubts, those fears, thoseinsecurities, and they can hold
you back or create barriers thatsometimes are invisible, but
very much real.
So here's the thing.
And this is where it getspowerful for yourself and for

(21:10):
others.
Your beliefs don't just shapeyour own life.
They have this ripple outwards, and whether it's through a smile
or a conversation, the energyyou bring into the room as you
join it, your presence createsthis ripple in the world.
You matter.
Your growth matters, therefore.
So I would just want to makesure something is really clear.
You don't just have to approachgrowth for the sake of others,

(21:30):
though.
This is about you and it's aboutbeing in it for yourself.
So even though I've been justmentioning for the last few
seconds about this whole rippleeffect.
That's the beauty of it, but thepoint is, is when you grow, you
align with your purpose, thoseripples grow naturally, uh, and
extend outwards.
They amplify your beliefs, theymagnify your impact, they touch

(21:53):
others in ways that you neverfully see.
And it's amazing that the realopportunity in all of this is
being intentional about it withyourself as a way of growing and
having your own impact in yourlife.
And subsequently, because ofthat, the impact and growth on
other people's lives.
So starting with you.

(22:13):
And because everything startswith you, it's about your
growth.
It's about how you connectdeeply with your purpose.
Like we've been talking aboutthis entire time and how you
commit to aligning your actionsto your values, because that's
where you get energy and that'swhere you feel authentic.
So it's all comes back toyourself and that foundation
that impacts every part of yourlife.

(22:36):
If you were to show updifferently, uh, than the way
you're showing up today, howwould that make you feel more
energized or intentional oraligned to your why?
The second circle here is aboutthe amplification.
So this is where practitionerscome in, you know, the coaches,
the mentors, the advisors, theguides.
These are the people that arehelping you see yourself more

(22:57):
clearly.
They're challenging you to growand they're also giving you the
tools to move forward.
So, if you were to think about atime when someone believed in
you, before you maybe evenbelieved in yourself, that
mentor, that coach, that advisorwho encouraged you to take a
leap or helps you uncover thosestrengths that you didn't really
know you had.

(23:17):
These individuals, thesepractitioners are amplifying
your growth and they're makingyour.
Your ripple bigger as we've beentalking about there helping you
stretch it beyond just yourcurrent limits.
And this is where it getsfascinating because it's not
just a one way relationship whenyou bring your best, uh, your
most purposeful self to theconversation, to the table.

(23:37):
They're growing as well.
And it's kind of this cycle ofmutual inspiration, which is
fascinating.
So the third circle here is justabout organizations, your
companies, your enterprises thatyou're a part of.
It can be your workplace.
It can also be a communitygroup, your family.
All of these have the ability tomagnify.
Individual and practitionergrowth on a larger scale.

(24:00):
So if you were in yourworkplace, for example, and they
invest in holistic wellness, notjust as a perk, but something
that is core to the value of theorganization, the way they show
up in the work that they do, theway they integrate and
collaborate with one another'spart of that begins with leaders
who model purpose driven growthand inspire their teams to do

(24:20):
the same.
Stepping into deeper employeesin this situation do tend to
thrive.
Teams tend to collaborate moreeffectively and the organization
as a whole becomes really morealigned and engaged to their own
strategy and mission.
And.
This is where that magnificationand the ripple effect really
takes hold.

(24:41):
The employees can take thatgrowth that they're experiencing
and bring it home to theirfamilies.
He can share that energy withtheir friends or bring it into
their communities at large.
And that is where the power ofthe organization aligned with
your purpose aligned with theamplification of practitioners.

(25:02):
In your life, really createripples that extend far beyond
your own walls or constraints.
Now, I'll be honest here, because I, like I said, growth
is about the individual side ofit, but we have to recognize the
impact you bring to the world isthe fact that these circles,
because they're concentric, themagic is where they overlap, and

(25:28):
it's in these intersectionswhere, I've been talking about
the amplification of impact andthe magnification of growth.
So if you were to take theinterrelationship between
individuals and practitioners,What happens here is it's like
personal breakthroughs challengeour coaches and our mentors to

(25:50):
refine their approach like theway they're guiding people is
really renewed or steereddifferently based on that
experience so they're growingthemselves.
If you look at theinterrelationship between the
practitioner and theorganization.
The way a practitioner mayengage with a leader and the way
that leader grows or transformsto support the team or the

(26:12):
department or the entire cultureof the organization has a
fundamental impact.
And just like with theindividual, the practitioner
takes that back in to supportothers that are trying to go
through or leverage theirservices.
And this is where then we cantalk about the interrelationship
between the organization and theindividual.

(26:32):
Because When an employee isfelt, or seen in the
organization, supported in theorganization, even empowered in
the organization, to bring theirbest self to work, or to even
just life, that's where purposedriven growth creates the
biggest ripple.
Because now the individualdoesn't just have clarity that
fuels their own impact, but alsothat energy from themselves.

(26:59):
So, uh, you can see here throughthese interconnectedness that
when you focus on your owngrowth or you're guiding others
or you're shaping the culture ofan organization, this
interconnected system really hasa ripple effect on it.
And the choices we make, uh, youknow, ripple outward in ways
that we may never fully see, butit matters.

(27:20):
I'm going to leave you with thisbecause we've talked about quite
a bit today.
We've talked about what purposedriven growth means.
We've talked about the eightdimensions of holistic wellness.
We've talked about these threeconcentric circles of growth and
how it's not done in isolation, that it's a shared experience.
I mean, so there's just been somuch we've been here to cover,

(27:41):
but part of this is laying thegroundwork for the conversations
and the guests that we're goingto have on this podcast.
You know, the fact that some ofthem are going to be able to
help us dive deep into one ofthese dimensions or another,
whether it's at work or whetherit's about physical fitness and
bring their experiences in Likewe started today talking about
our why and why we had thisfirst episode the way it is, I

(28:04):
want you to recognize it'sbecause it's not just about the
idea, it's about helping lay thefoundation, the foundation we've
been talking about with you sothat it can align with your
actions and your decisions andthe energy you want to bring
forward and not just help youtransform your life, but
ultimately, whether you like itor not, the lives of those
around you.

(28:25):
I'll leave you with this, andwe're going to close it out for
today.
All I ask is you take one smallstep, and that step is going to
be, this is the action for you.
It's just to reflect on yourwhy, and let it guide you to the
next move you make.
That can be in understandingyour practices, what they are,

(28:46):
how it looks in your life, whatit means to prioritize them.
But the, the whole point of thisand, and taking a moment, taking
a step to reflect on your why isto remember that when you live
with your purpose and youunderstand what it is, you're
not just growing for yourself, you're thriving.
And that's what matters.
You're thriving in your life.

(29:08):
So I want to thank you forjoining me.
I want to, you know, encourageyou to join us for the next
episode of beyond the move.
Like I said, we've got someamazing guests coming up here.
This next episode is going tokeep taking us further down this
path, but until then staystrong, be a part of it, focus
on your purpose and we'll catchyou next time.

(29:31):
Thank you.
