This is the place where you getto feel inspired and empowered
to step into your very best life.
Hey, hey, and welcome to thisepisode of the Becoming your
Warrior podcast.
This is Em, and I have got avery special episode for you
(00:24):
today because it's about one ofmy favorite subjects, which is
visualization is awesome.
It's one of my favorite thingsto talk about because it is so
freaking powerful and it's sounderestimated and not talked
about, and I just love it somuch.
So I'm going to do a littletechnique with you first of all,
(00:46):
and this technique is going toblow your mind.
Every time I teach people this, people, at the end of it, are
just like what the you knowinserts where word like people
are blown away by this and the.
Basically, what this techniquedoes is it's going to show you
first hand how powerful yourmind is, how powerful of a
(01:07):
visualizer visualizer youactually are, and also about the
insane, almost split secondconnection between your mind and
your body.
So whatever thoughts you'reputting into your mind, your
body will follow and you are incontrol of it.
So just play with me on thisone.
If you are driving, as always, this is not for you.
(01:27):
This is for a later date.
But if you are at home or ifyou just have some private space
, then this is definitely a goodtime to do it.
So what I'd love you to do isto stand up and you're just
going to raise your right arm infront of you and point your
index finger.
So point your first finger andyou can just like make a fist
(01:49):
with the rest, but your indexfinger is pointing straight
ahead of you, on your index, onyour right hand.
So what I want you to do now iskeep your feet firmly where
they are, but I'd like you nowto start taking your finger and
your arm your right arm towardsthe right, so moving all the way
around towards the right ofwhere you are, and you're going
(02:12):
to allow that finger and thatarm to move around and twist as
far as it is safely for you togo.
Okay, obviously, if you'repregnant or if you've got any
back injuries, just don't dothat.
But when you reach that pointwhere it's as far as you can go,
I want you to look beyond yourindex finger and I want you to
really make a really good noteof where your index finger has
(02:33):
landed, so where it's pointingat.
Okay, so come all the way backand just bring your hand down by
your side.
And so now I'm going to ask youjust to humor me and just play
along with me here.
So I'm going to ask you to keepboth your hands down by your
sides now.
But now I'm going to ask you toclose your eyes.
And now we're going to do avisualization technique.
(02:55):
So right now I want you toimagine that your entire spine
is just one huge, long piece ofelastic.
It's just like an elastic bandand it's all rubbery and it's
all.
There's no bones in there, there's nothing hard in there,
it's just completely wobbly andrelaxed and just like an elastic
(03:18):
band.
And so I'd like you to imaginenow, just keep your hands where
they are physically, but in yourmind.
I want you to imagine thatyou're going to do exactly the
same thing and you're going toraise your right hand up in
front of you, you're going topoint your index finger and
you're going to now startturning your index finger
towards the right.
So your, your arm and your bodyis going to start moving all
(03:41):
the way around to the right andyou're going to keep on going
until you reach that point.
But now you realize becauseyour spine is just this elastic
band you just realise that yourbody can actually keep going.
Your spine now is almost justtwisting, it's almost like a
corkscrew, and this arm and thisfinger is just continuing to go
(04:04):
all the way around till it'sback to the front.
But now you realise that yourbody and your arm, in everything
, is just continuing to twist soas your finger follow, follow
your finger around and follow itas it moves past that original
point again, all the way around.
It's coming all the way aroundagain, 360, again, and your
(04:25):
spine is just twisting aroundlike an elastic band and follow
that finger as it moves all theway.
Again it's going past thatoriginal point.
It's twisting all the way, allthe way, all the way around, all
the way around, right back down, right to the front.
And so I want you now to openyour eyes and I want you to
(04:45):
physically now raise your hand, point your finger, and I want
you to follow your finger andmove your finger around to the
right and keep going and keepgoing and keep going.
And just let me know Somehow, maybe on Instagram, I bet I
guarantee your finger has gonepast that original point quite
(05:07):
significantly, and this is thepower of visualisation.
Yeah, I know you're prettyblown away right now.
It's a pretty cool technique, but this is the power of
visualisation.
The only thing that will yourbody doesn't stop you from doing
anything.
Of course you know there'sbones and things like that.
But if you tell so, if you sayto any athlete part of their
(05:30):
training, part of their trainingschedule, it's not just going
to the gym, it's visualising.
It's visualising themselvesfinishing fast.
It's visualising themselveskicking that winning goal.
It's visualising themselveswinning the FA Cup.
I love football, so I've got tobring that in.
It's the power of visualisation.
If you give your mind a goal, your mind will latch onto that
(05:54):
and it will take your body there.
Your body has, it just followsthe commands of your mind.
So this is a really goodtechnique when it comes to
self-worth, when it comes toconfidence, when it comes to
self-esteem.
You have to start practisingevery single day, saying these
things to your mind, saying toyourself I am a person with
(06:17):
really high self-worth and Ireally value myself.
And play out situations in yourmind and how you'd respond.
So, let's say, in the pastthere's maybe a tricky character
at work, but because you nowhave self-worth, how are you
going to behave?
How are you going to react whenthat person, if that person
makes any comments?
(06:38):
Do you let them affect you?
Absolutely not.
Because you realise your worthis an inside job.
You realise you've got suchhigh value about yourself.
Why would you let this otherperson's comments affect you?
And, in actual fact, you'regoing to start making choices
like a worthy person.
I'm not saying you need to dothis, but like, for example, do
(06:58):
you need to even stay there as aworthy person?
Is your self-worth so low thatyou have to stay there and be
verbally spoken to like that bysomebody?
Or do you realise that you'reworth so much more and you can
go and speak to HR?
Or you can go and change jobsbecause you realise that your
life is worth much, much morethan tolerating and putting up
(07:21):
with somebody who's going tospeak to you poorly?
So I want you to think aboutyourself now.
Think about yourself inrelationships, think about
yourself in friendships.
What kind of things are yougoing to tolerate and what kind
of things do you know thatyou're worth?
You know you have more worth of?
It might be that maybe you'vegot like a parent who's really
(07:41):
critical to you, or maybe amum-in-law or a dad-in-law who
is narcissistic, like.
I deal with this all the timewith people who come and see me
one on one.
It's you know, there's certainfamily members that you just
cannot get out of your life butthey are really hard to deal
with, then never going to change, but you are.
You can visualize yourself inthat situation and you can put
(08:04):
like protective bubbles aroundyou, protective energy, and in
that bubble is all the safety, all the worthiness that you,
that you need, and outside thatbubble they can say what they
want, because you just don't letit in.
So visualize yourself.
What does a person with highconfidence, what does a person
(08:24):
with high self-worth look likewhen they meet new people?
You know they laugh, they havea laugh, they're easy to get
along with, they take thingslightly, they're not worrying
about what the other person'sthinking about them, they're
just like I'm here, I'm having agreat time and this is a great
company and I'm enjoyingeverything and I know what to
say.
So visualize yourself beingthat person.
(08:46):
The power of visualization isone of the most underused and
underrated and underspoken aboutskills and tools that you can
have in your life, and I canguarantee you this.
Every single successful personand when I'm talking about
success and talking, like youknow, traditional success, so
(09:06):
everyone that you look up tolike an athlete, people who have
won awards or people who have, you know, won Oscars or
humanitarian works, or you know, doctors they've all visualized
something.
I can guarantee this.
They've had a vision and adream and a goal and they have
(09:28):
seen themselves there and this.
When people cut, you know gothrough, because I know
manifestations really really bigat the moment, but really what
manifestation is?
It's imagining yourself there,it's visualizing yourself there
and it's bringing that feelingof it into your life every day.
And so you start to behave andyou start to feel like a person
(09:51):
who has what that future selfhas, and this is the same as
what it is with self worth.
It's a practice.
You have to start thinking andbehaving like that person.
Like that person you want to bethe person who's public
speaking on stage, the personwho's leading their team, the
person who's really confident inwhat they're doing, the person
(10:12):
who starts a business, theperson who is a great mom or a
great dad and leads their kids.
You have the power within you tostart visualizing that, and
every single time you repeatthis.
Every single time you repeatthat visualization and you feel
it as if it is now.
That is the key.
You kind of like you know.
(10:34):
If it's a health goal for you,okay.
So let's say you know you reallywant to get healthier or fitter
.
You see yourself, you seeyourself wearing the clothes
that you want to wear.
You see yourself running aroundor crossing a finish line or
whatever it is your goal is.
You see yourself, but you bringthat feeling of confidence, of
achievement, of pride into yourlife right now and you feel it
(10:58):
as if it is now.
And that is what manifestationis, because your body has no
choice but to act and behave asthe way that you are telling it
that you are.
And so this is how how it works.
This is how athletes win.
This is how people createthings.
This is how people becomebetter mums or, you know, better
(11:21):
dads or better parents, becausethey visualise the way that
they want to be, not the waythat they are or not the way
that they don't want to be.
They don't beat themselves upfor that.
They focus on how they want tobe.
How does it feel when I amstepping into the person that
has this thing, or the personwho acts this way, or the person
(11:43):
that behaves this way, or theperson that is brave, or the
person that has self worth howdoes it feel?
And feel it as if it is now.
I am going to leave that onewith you.
Have fun with your visualising.
It is honestly incredible.
Once you start and once yourepeat and repeat and repeat you
just watch the changes.
(12:04):
Your body has no choice but todo whatever it is that you are
telling your mind that you want.
Good luck with yourvisualisation and I will talk to
you soon as you keep steppinginto your beautiful warrior.
Thanks so much for listening.
