It is never easy for someone to talk about suicide - be it a person who has lost a loved one to it or are in a dark period of their life and considering harming themselves. But it is a conversation that is needed for this disease that takes one life every 11.5 minutes in the United States despite all the available resources including the 988 hotline number. And that is because in our sheltering of our hearts and our minds from this disease we have not allowed ourselves to become aware and help in preventing another death.
