(00:00):
Welcome back to Beyond Sundayand Day 20 of Anchored in God's
promises.
I love that every verse we'velooked at this month has built
layer by layer into a deeperunderstanding of God's presence
and his promises.
Today's verse is about one ofthe greatest promises of all
God's love poured directly intoyour life through the Holy
Spirit.

(00:20):
It's Romans five, five saysthis, and hope does not put us
to shame because God's love hasbeen poured out into our hearts
through the Holy Spirit.
Who has been given to us?
Paul begins with this bolddeclaration.
Hope does not put us to shame.
In other words, if your hope isin Christ, you will never be
disappointed.

(00:41):
In the end, the world offersflimsy hope.
Hope that depends oncircumstances, on people or on
outcomes we can't control.
That kind of hope can collapseand leave us embarrassed or
ashamed, but biblical hope, biblical hope is anchored in
God's character.
It's not wishful thinking.
It's confident assurance.

(01:01):
And Paul says this hope willnever shame us because it's
rooted in something unshakeable, the very love of God.
Now, notice the imagery.
God's love isn't trickled orrationed.
It's poured out.
That's abundance, that'soverflow.
It's like a waterfall, not aleaky faucet.
God doesn't measure out justenough love to get you through

(01:22):
the day.
He floods your life with it.
And he doesn't wait until you'vecleaned yourself up to do it.
Just a few verses later.
Paul reminds us that Goddemonstrated his love for us
while we were still sinners.
Romans five, eight, his love ispoured out, not because we
deserve it, but because he islove.
Now, this isn't just abstracttheology, it's deeply personal.

(01:46):
God's love isn't just a truth toaffirm in your mind.
It's an experience to feel inyour heart.
That means his love isn't just adoctrine, it's a daily reality.
It's the quiet assurance thatyou're seeing and known.
It's the peace that whispersyour mind, even when the world
says you're unworthy.
It's the anchor when guilt, fear, or insecurity try to drown

(02:09):
you.
And how does this love getpoured into us Through the Holy
Spirit, the Spirit is not onlyour guide and comforter, he is
the living presence of Godwithin us.
Constantly reminding us of thefather's love.
Romans eight 16 says, the spirittestifies with our spirit that
we are God's children.
That means when you feel distantfrom God, the spirit whispers

(02:32):
his love.
When you feel unloved orunlovable, the spirit reassures
you.
Nothing can separate you fromthe love of God.
I'll never forget talking to aman in our church who went
through a painful divorce.
He told me I felt like afailure, like no one could love
me again, but one night.
As I prayed through those tears,I sensed this overwhelming peace
in the room.
It was as if God was saying, Ihaven't stopped loving you.

(02:55):
You're still mine, man.
That was such a greatconversation with that guy.
What a reminder.
That's what Romans five, five istalking about.
The God's love is not just aconcept, it's a poured out
reality, especially in ourlowest moments.
So here's your challenge today.
Take five minutes and sitquietly asking the Holy Spirit

(03:15):
to remind you of God's love foryou.
You might wanna pray somethinglike, holy Spirit, pour the
Father's love into my hearttoday.
Let me experience it, not justknow it.
Then listen.
Let His presence settle you.
Let His love define you.
Let's pray.
Father, thank you for pouringout your love so abundantly

(03:35):
through the Holy Spirit.
Remind us today that our hope isin you.
And we'll never be disappointed.
Help us not just to know aboutyour love, but to experience it
deeply anchor our hearts in thetruth that nothing can separate
us from it.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
Hey, thanks for joining me forBeyond Sunday and day 20 of
anchored in God's promises.

(03:57):
If this message reminded you ofGod's love, share it with
someone who might need that samereminder today.
See you tomorrow.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
