Ep. 015 – The Invincible Company, Alexander Osterwalder, Strategyzer

Although the book Business Model Generation by Strategyzer has been around for several years, it wasn't until the last few years that I begin to seriously apply them to my own business as well as clients (though not always in its entirety) and the results have been outstanding. But most of you might be more familiar with the authors of the original book. Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur are well-known names within the strategy community. The Business Model Canvas started as a PhD dissertation by Alex with Yves and develop into a widely used tool implemented by global companies such as Nintendo, Mastercard, and so on. Since then, Alex and Yves as well as the other Strategyzer's authors have published several books including Value Proposition Design, Testing Business Ideas and most recently, "The Invincible Company". During Strategyzer's most recent masterclass in May 2020, I managed to catch up with Alex for a short interview to discuss "The Invincible Company". The book introduced a new tool called "The Portfolio Map" into Strategyzer's list of tools already being used worldwide.
