Welcome back to the Booked On Fantasy Podcast! This week we bring you episode 2 of our spin off series, Pag(e)ing the Past, where we revisit some of our favorite books from the past.
This week we dive into book two of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins: Catching Fire! This book was even better as we follow Katniss Everdeen - "the girl on fire" - as she goes from processing surviving her first games, to being forced right back in again for the quarter quell. However this time, Katniss is burning hotter than ever and is determined to strike back against the Capitol.
Join us as we chat about our favorite scenes, discuss themes and analyze our favorite characters from the lens of "experienced adults" (lol). We also share our overall rating, Addison gives some insight comparing the book with the movie, and Lorraine gives us some predictions since she hasn't read the whole series before.
*Please note we WILL HAVE SPOILERS for the entirety of the first two books in the series: The Hunger Games and Catching Fire (but no further)

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
