Episode Summary

Hey y’all—it’s your podcast bestie Jama! I’m currently on vacation soaking up the Arizona sun, but I couldn’t leave without sharing a few quick tips that might just change how you see yourself in photos.

We all take pictures on trips, but how many do we actually like of ourselves? If you're tired of overthinking or avoiding the camera, this episode is for you. I'm sharing five feel-good tips to help you stop hiding and start capturing confident, joyful moments—no filters, no pressure, and definitely no need to “get ready.”

Let’s stop nitpicking and start showing up as we are.

Timestamps

00:00 – A sunny hello from Arizona and why this topic matters
00:51 – Tip 1: Light matters more than your outfit
01:22 – Tip 2: Move like you’re living—not posing
01:42 – Tip 3: Choose memories over perfection
02:16 – Tip 4: Take the photo for you, not social media
02:40 – Tip 5: Chin out, shoulders back—own your moment
03:00 – Final encouragement: You’re allowed to be seen just as you are

 Key Takeaways

  • Good lighting beats a perfect outfit. Face the window or put the sun behind you—let the light do the work.
  • Movement is magic. Laugh, twirl, walk—ditch the stiffness and just live your moment.
  • Perfection is overrated. The blurry, messy shots often hold the best memories.
  • You don’t need to prove anything. Snap photos for yourself, not the algorithm.
  • Simple posture shifts = big confidence. Chin out, shoulders back, and own your presence.

Call to Action

The next time someone pulls out a camera, don’t hide. You are worthy of being seen—tired, glowing, unfiltered, and fully present.

If this episode gave you a confidence boost, I’d love to hear about it. Send me a quick message. Until then, keep living the whole picture.

Y'all seem to like those, butthis time it's something a
little more upbeat.
I'm finally feeling like my oldself again We'll see how long
that lasts and I'm currently offon vacation soaking up some of
that warm desert sun in Arizonawith my brother and family out

(00:21):
there.
But I wanted to take a littletime to drop a quick message
about vacation photos, becausehere's the deal, y'all - Every
time we travel, we take pictures, am I right?
But how many of those photos dowe actually like of ourselves?
Let's change that up and let'sstop nitpicking and just
remember we're there to have agood time.
So here are a few things Iremind myself of when I'm on

(00:45):
vacation and want to show upconfidently in photos, even if
I'm tired or jet, lagged or allthe things.
You don't have to get ready.
You're on vacation, you'realready there and you're already
ready.
Tip number one light mattersmore than your outfit choice.
You don't always have to beInstagram ready, however.
If you have pretty light, justsnap it.

(01:06):
If you're near a window and youhave a beautiful view, face it.
If you're outside, put that sunbehind you and it'll naturally
wrap around you for a soft, beautiful glow.
Natural light does most of thework for you in this case.
Tip number two movement makeseverything feel better.
Don't freeze up for a photo, laugh, spin, shift your weight,

(01:27):
walk towards the camera, awayfrom it, look over your shoulder
, try different perspectives, have fun with it.
You're on vacation, nobodyknows you, they're never going
to see you again.
Move like you're living yourbest life and not just posing
for the gram or the algorithm.
Tip number three choose thememory over perfection.
Some of my favorite photos areoftentimes blurry or a little

(01:49):
bit out of focus or messy, butyou know what?
That blurriness, that movementsomehow brings me back to how
much fun I was having in thatmoment and what I felt during
that time, and that matters morethan any perfect photo ever
will.
Tip number four you don't evenneed to post these photos to
prove you did it.
Take the photos for you, dosomething for you.

(02:10):
You're allowed to document yourlife without performing or
promoting for the algorithm orsocial media.
And tip number five when indoubt, chin out shoulders back
and stand tall.
These little posture shifts canchange the entire vibe.
You'll feel more confident inyour body and it'll show in your
photos.
So the next time someone pullsout a phone or a camera to take

(02:33):
a picture of you, don't hide,enjoy it.
You're allowed to be seen forexactly who you are.
And those are my tips, all I'vegot for now, because I'm off
enjoying vacation In themeantime.
Go live your best life y'all, and keep living the whole
picture.
Have a good one.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
