Episode Description:

Ever sit down to post or record something and feel completely blank? You’re not alone. In this episode of You’re the Brand. Now What?, I’m talking about what to share when you feel stuck—and how to show up without sounding like a walking ad.

Whether you’re building a personal brand, writing a newsletter, or trying to get consistent with content, this episode will give you the clarity and confidence to keep going—even when the words feel hard to find.

Timestamps:

00:00 – Why “I don’t know what to say” is usually fear, not fact
01:20 – What your audience actually wants from you (hint: not perfection)
02:26 – Five content prompts to help you speak up, even when you’re stuck
02:54 – A reminder: Your presence matters more than your polish
03:35 – You don’t need social media to show up—you just need your voice

Key Takeaways:

  • Start messy. Adjust as you go. There’s no perfect way to speak up—only your way.
  • Connection beats polish. Your people want to feel seen, not sold to.
  • Five content ideas that always work:
    1. Share what you’re working through
    2. Answer a recent question
    3. Tell a past story that shaped you
    4. Share your take on something current
    5. Say what you wish someone had told you
  • Presence is built through honesty. When you don’t know what to say, say something true.
  • Social media is optional—your voice isn’t. There are other ways to be heard.

Jama Pantel (00:00):
Hey y'all, it's your podcast, bestie Jama again.
If you've ever sat there andstared at your screen thinking I
know I need to show up, butwhat do I even say, this one's
for you.
So today we're talking abouthow to show up when we feel
stuck, or how to create contentthat feels real, not forced, and

(00:20):
how to build visibility withoutturning into a walking ad,
because I've been there and donethat.
Because the truth is, you don'tneed a perfect content plan,
you just need clarity, consistency and your voice.
We've all heard it before youjust need to show up
consistently.
Well, this whole showing upthing sounds simple, right,

(00:42):
until you're actually sittingdown to post or record, and then
the spiral starts.
Does anyone even care?
I don't want to soundrepetitive.
Is this too much, not enough,off-brand, etc.
Etc.
I get it.
I've been there too and am mostdays, and often we freeze, not
because we have nothing to say,but because we're trying to find

(01:04):
just the right thing, to say itin the right way at the right
time.
Let me be real with you.
There is no right way, there'sonly your way, and you figure
that out by starting messy andadjusting as you go like I do
all the time.
Most of us think that we need toteach or prove or pitch every
time we show up, but that's notwhat the audience wants.

(01:27):
They want connection.
They want to see themselves inyour story, to feel like someone
gets them and to be remindedthey're not behind or broken.
The best content isn't the mostpolished, it's the most
relatable, and that happens whenyou share moments, not just
messages.
So next time you feel stuck, ask yourself what have I felt,

(01:50):
learned or noticed lately thatsomeone else might need to hear?
That's your content and that'swhy I'm putting out this podcast
for you.
So here are five simple promptsthat can help you show up when
you're drawing a blank.
Share what you're workingthrough, not just what you've
mastered.
People connect to process, notperfection.

(02:11):
You don't need to have itfigured all out to say something
valuable.
Answer a question you've beenasked recently.
If one person has asked it, 10more are probably thinking it.
This builds trust and makesyour content feel relevant.
Tell a story from your past thatshaped your present.
It could be a failure, a lightbulb moment or a time you almost

(02:32):
gave up.
These stories make you humanand make you memorable.
Give your take on somethinghappening in your industry or
world.
Share your opinion, even ifit's unpopular.
Strong brands have a point ofview.
Say the thing you wish someonehad told you five years ago.
This one always lands becauseit's personal, it's clear and

(02:53):
it's true.
You don't need to be on all thetime, but you do need to be
honest.
That's exactly where I've beenlately, and even when your words
feel uncertain, your presencematters.
Your people aren't waiting fora perfect strategy.
They're waiting for permissionto be real, and that all starts
with you.
So when you don't know what tosay, say something honest,

(03:16):
something simple, something true.
That's how trust is built.
That's how presence is grown.
So if this episode gave you alittle nudge, here's what I want
you to do.
Pick one of the five ideas thatI gave you above and share
something today on your feed, inyour stories, in your
newsletter or however youcommunicate with your audience.
It does not have to be socialmedia.

(03:37):
As you know, I've taken asocial media break lately and
I've kind of avoided it, but I'mstill getting my voice out
there.
And if you're still strugglingto show up confidently, I've got
some free resources availableto you on the website jamapantel
.
com, and I'll link them in theshow notes below.
Here's your reminder one moretime.
You don't have to sound likeanyone else, you just need to

(03:59):
sound like you.
Even when it's simple, evenwhen it's messy, even when
you're unsure, you're the brand.
Now speak up, until next.
