Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hey, welcome back to
another episode of Brutally Made
.
It's Friday after the 4th ofJuly, so maybe you're still
celebrating Independence Day, soit's going to be a fun weekend.
I know here we have the ItalianAmerican Festival on First
Friday tonight, so that'll be alot of fun.
(00:27):
Let's dive into the sketchtoday.
It is from Elo Lovey, from theJuly Prompts and Stadium.
This is going to be aninteresting sketch Stadium.
Okay, let's see what we can doabout, maybe something that I
associate with a stadium.
(00:48):
We have a stadium here FawcettStadium, tom Benson Stadium is
what it is.
But yeah, so let's go ahead andjust talk about what's been
happening.
Last week again, I had thelovely Lizzie on and I had such
a great time talking to her andsharing with everyone what she
(01:11):
does.
I can't wait to have moreguests on when the shop opens.
That's one of the goals is totalk to the featured artists
every month and bring them on asa guest and maybe even some of
the class attendees.
I know there's a lot of kidsclasses.
(01:32):
Kids love being part of showsand podcasts, things like that.
I think that would be a lot offun to see if any of the parents
wouldn't mind if the kiddoswould talk about being creative
and what they liked.
I know how much fun mygranddaughter had doing that.
So that's a goal for the showis to have guests on that are
(01:57):
involved in the shop and I wouldsuper excited if people would
agree to do that.
Make it easy.
I was super excited if peoplewould agree to do that.
Make it easy.
You know, we don't have to havea very long episode, but just
getting some insight on whysomebody creates the way that
they do and the subject mattersand the mediums that they use, I
think that that's always veryinspiring to share.
(02:20):
I wanted to offer that as partof being part of the featured
artists and I hope that theyembrace that idea as well as
join me on an episode to bringthat to everybody.
So shop is going well.
We had a chair building partythis week.
(02:40):
I have over 40 chairs for thedifferent areas that needed
assembled and it was a littledaunting task to try to think
about how I would do it withjust Brian and I.
So I got some pizzas and somefriends came over, brought their
tools and then we realizedeverything was Allen wrenches.
(03:02):
Every set of chairs came withan Allen wrench.
I didn't need their tools, Ididn't know I hadn't opened the
boxes.
So yeah, that was kind of funny, but a few hours got a lot of
them done.
I still have, I think, 14 to goroutine to go.
(03:27):
But then painting the basecolors on the walls so I can get
ready to paint all of the ideasthat I have on the walls for my
murals and art, and then we'llget started with installing the
displays, then picking things upat different places, thrifting
different salvage places,thrifting different salvage
(03:49):
places, resale places, businesses that are no longer
going to operate and gettingtheir displays.
So we had a great time lastSaturday at the farmer's market
downtown in Canton and picked upsome beautiful things at one of
our favorite stores.
I just hated to know that itwasn't going to open again, but
I understand and they'rechanging their direction.
So it's sad, but I was veryfortunate and grateful for
(04:16):
picking up some of the thingsthat they had for my location.
So thanking them At LetterPress, jess and Little Chicago
Clothing Company for having sucha kind heart in offering those
things and hoping the transitionthat they're going through goes
(04:36):
well and looking forward tocontinue to support them in what
they do, because they are afavorite and so you know we
don't want to see that happen, but understand.
So farmer's markets againhappening tomorrow and always
great vendors and it was superbusy, very excited about their
(04:59):
new location.
We just had a great time and alot of things going on this
weekend.
So hopefully I get to make it,try and take advantage of the
weekend to work on the space, because the goal is to be opened
at the end of the month andthat is quickly coming and I've
got a lot to do.
So working on that and have acouple projects coming up with
(05:24):
some other community things, Iface painted yesterday from six
I set up about 6 am, 630 am, andthen I was supposed to be done
by 10 and didn't get out ofthere until 1130.
It was very busy and they had tocut my line off twice and I
(05:46):
just wanted to not turn anyoneaway because I hate seeing
little sad kiddos if I can't getto them.
I was trying to paint as fastas I could.
I bet I painted I don't knowclose to a hundred kids and had
to been.
It was just so busy, it was sosweet and I tried to snap
pictures and I always ask.
(06:07):
I always ask if I can snap apicture of the kids when their
face is painted, because it'scertainly something.
I totally want permission fromthe adult and the child.
You know, sometimes the parentssay sure, and then the kids
like no, I'm like okay, noproblem, I just want to ask.
I don't want to assume, butthey're just so sweet when
(06:29):
whether they want their picturetaken or not, and I love when
they're all shy and quiet, likewhat would you like?
They don't want to tell me.
So I start, you know, showingthem ideas or having little
stencils, something fast.
And I know it was just, it wasa lot of fun.
It was very fun, very cute, very patriotic.
(06:49):
Red, white and blue Cause.
It was for a 4th of July racefor the YMCA and it was.
It was a lot of fun.
And I got to do like thighswhere people were running.
They didn't want it to like rundown, and which was cool, but
yeah, we had a blast to like rundown, and which was cool.
But uh, yeah, we had a blast, had a very, really good time.
(07:10):
So I enjoyed that immensely andI'm going to celebrate the 720
market coming up, they have ataco party and we're going to
make the cutest little tacoornaments and I have little
glitter, like I guess they'retemporary tattoos.
Since I can't paint pieces andmake something, I had to kind of
(07:31):
do the best of both worlds.
So we are going to have a makeand take craft, but in the
meantime you can also have alittle glitter, temporary tattoo
for your face or hand orwhatever.
So they're very sweet.
So that's coming up on the 20thof July and the 23rd I will be
at our mall, bell Village Mall, and I have designed an Olympic
(07:54):
mural and it is augmentedreality with the Art of Ive app.
So it moves.
And I have a couple craftswe'll be making.
I have a little lighted torch, the Olympic torch that we'll be
doing, and like the gymnasticribbon we're going to do this
with like little ribbons, and soif you want to make one of
(08:15):
those, that would be a lot offun.
And I have little like sportssoccer balls and footballs to
hand out coloring pages of themural that they can, you know,
grab and do that.
Just a lot of things tocelebrate the Summer Olympics
that are coming up and then, pretty much after that, my shop
is opening, very excited.
(08:36):
So, yeah, a lot going on thismonth and I just want to
encourage you to look into yourcommunity and find what you can
do to be involved and just tryto think outside the box and
share ideas and things that youthink other people would embrace
(08:58):
doing together, especiallyespecially Another thing that I
don't know the date that it'sgoing to be announced that all
of the electric boxes downthrough Cleveland Avenue are
done, all of the animations aredone, the artwork is done,
they're going to be installedand everything should be in
(09:18):
place for the next football ProFootball Hall of Fame parade
this year.
So they will all be activatedwith the app, with art of vibe,
and I'm anxious to see thoseinstalled and just start sharing
where they're at and like howto walk that whole corridor so
(09:40):
you can enjoy that, that artworkand experience something a
little fun with that.
So I'm very excited about thatand can't wait to share more
when those are unveiled.
And there's a mural fest goingon downtown Canton and excited
to be part of that too.
So just really love the factthat there's a lot of vibrant
(10:08):
art things going on and I amthrilled and super grateful to
be part of it and I can't waitfor the store to open.
So just wanted to share some ofthose updates and encourage you
to experience any farmersmarkets, art festivals, artists
in your community, things thatpeople are doing in creative
(10:30):
aspects.
Be sure to reshare it.
When you see it on social media, talk about it with your
friends and family as things togo to.
It's just super important tosupport those people creating
stuff.
I can't tell you howencouraging it is to have you
(10:51):
just even you don't have to buysomething just coming and being
part of it.
That's that is important, because your presence is a
present.
Not to be corny, but it's true,it's really, really important
for people to show up and itmeans a present.
Not to be corny, but it's true,it's really, really important
for people to show up and itmeans a lot.
So I can't thank my friendsenough for doing that here,
(11:14):
because they have become familyto us and I can't imagine life
without them being just you know, here for me, like they have
been, and I appreciate thembeyond measure.
And even all of you showing upas listeners that's such a huge
(11:37):
support.
It just makes my heart so happyand so thank you.
It means the world to me andI'm excited to continue to find
different ways to stay creativeand share creativity, encourage
people to be creative and itreally does ripple effect a lot
(11:58):
of goodness in the world.
So we need to continue more ofthat.
But happy Friday, happybeginning of July, and I can't
wait to talk to you next weekwith more updates and letting
you know where things stand andhopefully know a little bit
(12:18):
about my featured artists.
That will be going into August.
They will be displayed at theend of the month when I open.
But yeah, I should be able tostart organizing that soon.
So, take care, I hope you likemy stadium stuff.
Have a great weekend and I willtalk to you later.
