Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hi, sorry for the
missed episode.
Thank you for your grace andgiving me a little bit of
breathing room for everything Ihave going on.
I want to dive back into thedoodles.
So today Elo Lovey's prompt forthe 10th is Hi, everyone, sorry
(00:29):
, it has been two weeks.
I had to skip a week because Ihad a presentation at a great
market and I was so busy gettingready for that.
Then had the market.
I was going to record thatweekend and I lost my voice.
I got laryngitis.
I had to paint live and it wasbeautiful out that day and so
(00:56):
many great people stopped by andI talked so much about my new
space.
I lost my voice.
So I have been kind of missingonline and now I'm back and so,
ironically, today's sketch fromElo Levy is Umbrella.
(01:16):
So I'm a day late and inaddition to the week late that I
am, but that's what we're goingto sketch today and Umbrella
Alley here locally opened up theumbrellas and I'll share some
pictures of that with you.
I still feel like my voice isstill coming back.
It's been a lot of ginger andturmeric tea and chai and honey,
(01:42):
and I need to get more localhoney because I'm out now.
Yeah, I finally am able to talkto where you can understand me,
and there has been so much thathas happened.
I had to jump on and just talkabout it because I have secured
my space for my shop, studio, make and take pop-up gallery in
(02:11):
Oakwood Square and I am beyondthrilled.
Put the security deposit down, paid the cams for a month and I
am getting in there to work onit and I hope to be open by the
end of July hopefully the middleof July, but end of July for
(02:31):
sure.
That's the goal and I am beyondgrateful and thrilled and just
cannot wait to be in there toshare the space.
I've had such a tremendousresponse from everyone helping
me and encouraging me andsupporting me and, yes, my
(02:54):
Kickstarter is still going.
I still have to get my sign.
I still have so many things tofind and refurbish for the
inside, because I am working oneverything from getting tables,
chairs, cabinetry for materials, the materials themselves,
inventory, setting up themeeting party space, just
(03:19):
cleaning, painting my murals, everything, and I'm pretty much
doing it from the ground up.
My husband and I and everyonehere, that is, and even my
friends that are far away, planning to come and help.
I'm just just bursts it's.
I just can't thank you, thankyou, thank you all so much
(03:40):
enough.
This dream is coming true.
Oh my gosh, I'm just so excited.
Yes, so brutally is happening, and I am beyond excited to share
every step, misstep, everythingthat I'm doing with you to
encourage you to go for yourdreams and make those a reality.
(04:02):
That is what I'm doing, andI've never had a shop before, so
this is all new to me.
You are on the same learningcurve as I am, if you've never
done it, and I feel like it hasbeen decades and decades in the
making, because this has alwaysbeen something I've wanted to do
.
And, yes, I am still workingfull time while I'm doing this,
(04:24):
so bear with me as that stillprogresses, but not a problem.
I just know so many people areso excited for it to be open,
like during the day, and that isthe plan eventually.
Um, but yeah, it's, it'shappening and, uh, we will grow
(04:44):
and enjoy this together.
So I just had to share thatupdate.
I had to thank everybody foreverything, because, if you
can't hear me smiling, I amsmiling ear to ear and uh,
umbrella, yeah, umbrella.
Alley was part of that.
You know, I've got to work inthat alley and love all the
(05:08):
people that are involved withthat project.
It is tremendous what an assetin our community and just really
excited to get to experiencethat.
Anyone coming into town to helpme with my location, I'll
definitely take you over thereso you can experience that
beautiful alley and the shops byit.
(05:28):
Oh, my gosh, jack and Wileymoved across the street so they
are right beside the alley nowand all the other like Joe's
Coffee Shop is over there nowand all the other like Joe's
coffee shop is over there andjust it's.
They've got second Saturdaysthat they have their different
markets and it's just reallypretty.
It's just such a cute littletown and I'm really excited to
(05:52):
do everything in the communityalong this art journey and I've
had so many people reach outalready wanting to book the room
Bear with me that will behappening and teach, which I'm
thrilled to offer that space toall kinds of activities, because
I love learning and so I wantto learn alongside the community
(06:15):
members.
So I want to make sure to offerall kinds of opportunities to
learn all kinds of creativeendeavors.
That is the goal and I can'twait to showcase the artists in
our community.
Really, just, I'll have all ofthe sign up sheets and ways to
sign up and ways to schedulestuff going, probably by the end
(06:39):
of June, just so I know exactlylike how many spots I have and
how much space I have and howmany classes to have.
You know, bear with me, it isall coming, trust me.
I think about it 24-7.
And I just am very excited.
And I just am very excited, such a sigh of relief to have
(06:59):
that part, that hurdle that justtake that leap.
You know, just do it, just try,try my hardest, that's all I
can do.
So, yeah, I wanted to sharethat update and tell you to stay
tuned on this exciting journeyand also remind you that the
(07:20):
plain little art shack which ismy little art swap spot out
front of my house will be movingto that new location.
So it will be more in thepublic eye and that again will
always be a free place to swap apiece of art and share your art
with other people.
So I'm really hoping that thatgets out in the community and
(07:45):
people enjoy that too.
So again, a little bit ofumbrella sketch in here, little
doodles here.
Have fun this Memorial Dayweekend and don't forget to
pause and honor the reason whywe are off of school and going
into summer and work.
You know the sacrifices thatwere made for Memorial Day, but,
(08:09):
yes, please just keep me in.
Your positive thoughts andencouraging words are always,
always appreciated.
I am rounding out the last twodays of my 100-day project and
they have been all kinds oftwo-word phrases that have
really kept me going and I hopeyou have enjoyed those too.
(08:31):
So lots going on and lots ofupdates coming, and I can't wait
to share artists on the podcastwith you that are going to be
exhibiting in the gallery.
That's going to be part of thenew changes in the program and,
yeah, I am just really ready toget this out in the world and
(08:52):
share all of the amazing thingsthat we're going to do.
