Speaker 1 (00:00):
I will say this to any woman who is listening don't
take matters into your ownhands.
Trust God through the process, because God knows what is best
for you.
Sometimes we have to understandand realize that just because
it doesn't happen and the timingthat we believe it should
happen, does not mean it's notgonna happen.

(00:22):
It's just God's timing isperfect.
I think that's a lesson I hadto learn from Tamar, because
what happened?
She had the set of twins andthen Judah moved on with his
life.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
So you never hear anything about Tamar at that.
Welcome to the Call by Godpodcast with Adne.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Godet and myself, Nixon.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Sylvain.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
This show is about dialogues of biblical characters
and testimonies of Christianswho submit to the will of God.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Each week we're bringing one guest so that they
can share their story how theywere called by God.
I hope this show inspires youand enjoy.
Hello and welcome world to theCall by God podcast.

(01:24):
I'm yours truly, brother Nick, and I'm here with Sister Adne.
Sister Adne, how are you doingon this blessed day?

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I am doing great, brother Nick.
It is currently nice and coolin Atlanta.
I prayed and I asked God.
I said, lord, I wanna live in astate where I could experience
all four seasons.
And he said you sure you won'tfail, you don't even like the
cold like that.
And I was like, yeah, I wastired of just staying one place

(01:54):
where you don't get toexperience the seasons.
And I'm definitely saying thatI am able to see God's hand in
every single season here to seefall the trees turning.
The leaves are looking sobeautiful and red and falling
off of the trees.
So it has been very like man.
If you wanna see God, I willsay this to anybody walk in

(02:17):
nature, walk outside, just takea walk outside.
Go to like the beach or a lakeLake.
You will see God in everything.
It's so beautiful.
It really truly is.
How are you doing?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
I'm blessed, I can't even complain.
I like how you pointed out thatif people wanna see God, look
at nature, and then it's amazingthe things that you see in
person, even on television, because we know that God is the
artist.
So sometimes when you see amasterpiece or a portrait, you'd
be like man that artist, sureenough, could draw.
When you look at nature itselfand even humanity Like man, god

(02:56):
is a world of an artist.
He showed them how to hookthings up.
He make things look beautiful.
That'll make your jaw drop.
But I like how you pointed thatout.
But I'm excited.
I'm excited this week, thisweek, actually, this episode
we're doing some rewinds, sothis is the top three rewinds of
quarter three.

(03:17):
So I'm excited just to talkabout these three episodes.
Now, look, listen, we don'tknock any episodes or anybody
that we have had on our show.
It just so happened that theseparticular episodes are gaining
a lot of traction.
Apparently, a lot of peoplelike it, so probably people have
been sharing it.
Oh, let me not forget.
Also, we wanna thank all of ourlisteners.

(03:39):
We wanna thank you guys, andalso we wanna thank our Lord and
our Savior, jesus Christ, justfor giving us the energy I need
to still persevere to doing thisplatform, this podcast, and
also, as we continue to grow, weask that you continue to share.
I would say like share andsubscribe, but we're not fully

(03:59):
alive on YouTube yet, so I wouldsay they could just share it or
subscribe.
And also, if you feel the needto support our show, you could
make a support by simply justclicking on the link that says
we have some support links downin the show notes.
But let's get right into it.
Addy, I'm excited about theserewinds, so we have the top
three.
So the first rewind that wewanna talk about in this episode

(04:23):
it's about Tamar, and I knowyou was on there with two other
sisters and y'all went in.
Y'all did a really good job.
So I'm gonna just play a littlesnippet and we'll just have a
quick dialogue.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
I also read that back then, I guess to speak to why
she chose to dress like aprostitute because back then it
was coming in that culture, inthe pagan culture.
It was coming for prostitution.
So if it was coming, then thatwould probably her, I guess,

(04:55):
reasoning because she knew thatsince it's coming, then let me
choose to dress like aprostitute and I know I can get
them like this.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Amen, amen.
Addy, I'm gonna let you goahead and start this off,
because I know you's on herewith the two other sisters.
What is your take on Taymar?

Speaker 1 (05:14):
From the research I've done.
Taymar was a woman who wasmarried, had no children, but
widowed.
Taymar was regarded as what youwould call the lethal woman and
, and Judah, you know, put heraway because he didn't want his

(05:37):
son to die, right?
But what Judah did not realizeand understand his first son was
wicked and the second son wasfeeling the semen.
Life is in the semen right.
The only way that Taymar couldhave a baby is for him to go
into the intimate space andallow the egg and the semen to

(06:00):
meet together.
But he didn't want to do that.
He didn't want to fulfill thatvow.
But what I love about Taymar, well, she was very patient.
That's something that the Lordhad to show me.
She was extremely patient.
She went back to her daddy'shouse to live with him, but when
she realized, hold up, she wasolder and he ain't give she

(06:24):
little me.
Oh yeah, I'm gonna take mattersinto my own hands.
I will say this to any womanwho is listening don't take
matters into your own hands.
Trust God through the process, because God knows what is best
for you.
Sometimes we have to understandand realize that just because

(06:46):
it doesn't happen in the timingthat we believe it should happen
does not mean it's not gonnahappen.
It's just God's timing isperfect.
I think that's a lesson I hadto learn from Taymar, because
what happened?
She had the set of twins andthen Judah moved on with his
life.
So you never hear anythingabout Taymar after that.
So I believe that sometimes weneed to learn to learn patience.

(07:11):
That's one thing I learned fromreading the story of Taymar.
In the beginning she was verypatient, very, very loyal,
because I don't know how shelooked, but I'm almost certain
there was some men who werelooking.
So that's what I got from herstory.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Yeah, that was a good take and I know, like I earlier
, you know your sister, yoursister did a wonderful job and
when I hear these stories aboutwomen that do certain acts and
certain things in the Bible, especially like earlier,
especially with Taymar, you know, we know what Judah did wasn't

(07:52):
outright but I believe to somedegree he was trying to protect
his little one.
But it looks bad on his endbecause he was in following
through on what was the customback then.
So it's kind of like they Iwant to put it like in a sense
in a modern way that if a dudeis with a woman they might

(08:13):
consider that woman a curse.
You know, I don't know ifyou've heard that in the past
with dudes be like it'll messwith her man because every time
you're around her she bringssome bad luck right.
But I like how you pointed thatout.
Even the Bible pointed out thatJudah's sons, they did things
that wasn't pleasing in God'ssight.
So, yes, taymar had to dothings according to her own

(08:38):
personal will because at themoment she didn't have a husband
.
And this is where I feel badfor women, because when women
don't have a husband and theydon't have a go to somebody they
could consult with aboutcertain matters.
They got to do things on theirown and those things may not be
according to God's word, willand way.

(08:59):
It just so happened that sheended up getting pregnant and we
know, through God's sovereignty.
It's like this, adi.
So my mother had a lot of kidsout of wedlock.
She did that out of her ownpersonal will, but through God's
sovereignty.
God still blessed us all, mybrothers.
God still blessed us along theway, and that's what I see in

(09:20):
this story.
I said, like sometimes we justmake decisions.
That's not right.
We'd be like man.
If only I didn't.
If only if I didn't make thisdecision, I would have been in a
good space.
But I know, through it all, that God is still sovereign.
So, yes, she lost two husbands.
That's hard, adi, because wegot to think back to when she
lost the first husband.
Folks always say you know, whenyou lose a loved one, you know

(09:44):
better.
Yet if you lose a spouse, that's like that, right there.
That's why they say whenelderly people, when they lose
their spouses, they feel likethey want to go too.
They feel like they want to gowhere they are.
They have no reason to livehere on earth.
So this woman right here losttwo.
Now I don't know about you, adi.

(10:06):
I haven't met a woman yet thatI could think of right now that
lost two husbands and Barondon't even feel valued enough to
have another mate because ofcourse we know the custom back
then was to pass it along.
But I'm speaking in terms ofmodern.
If a woman lost two husbands shemay consider herself a curse.

(10:28):
Okay, I'm not trying no more.
She may just give up and may dothings out of the norm.
Maybe she might have a Taymarspirit and later on regret it.
But I like how the Biblehighlighted her.
Sometimes we do things that'snot what we deem is not right,
not morally right, but I knowGod is merciful and God is

(10:50):
gracious and God is sovereign, even through it all, and we see
it all through Taymar.
All right, all right, let me goon to the next top three
episodes of this third quarter, and I like this biblical
character.
So so far we had, we tackle onebiblical character, one biblical
person in Tamar.

(11:10):
So we go on to the next, andhis name is Joseph.
Most men fall short of this.
This is where most men get introuble.
Golly men too.
Golly men.
It could be any man, but we'regonna talk about since this is
the context of talking about theHebrews someone that God is
with you.
Know cause, we know that, children of God, god is with us.
Golly men, including myself, wecould get in trouble when women

(11:38):
trying to entice us to fallshort try to get us to do, to do
, something that God did notauthorize.
This woman is trying to cheat onher husband, but Joseph has so
much respect and reverence, notonly for Potiphar but also for
God Cause, remember, ooh, we,you know, addy, I respect Joseph

(12:06):
, I respect this dude man.
I can't stress it enough.
I know we we tackled severalepisodes about Joseph and Joseph
episode been getting a lot oftraction and I've said this in
numerous episodes that there'sone person that I could compare
myself to in a Bible it showedenough will be Joseph, and I
respect Joseph to the pointwhere this is an individual

(12:32):
that's in a position not anyposition.
I don't look at the other dude,I don't know what brother, that
if a woman got him in asecluded place they ain't nobody
around, it might be dark, mightbe playing some Luther no, they
wasn't playing Luther, but itprobably was playing harps.

(12:53):
And then this dude said no, I'mgoing to take off Like I
respect your husband so muchthat I'm not, I'm not going to
do that, I'm not going to commitadultery because I respect not
only your husband, but I have arespect for God.

(13:14):
Addy, I don't know, I don't knowtoo many dudes that that would,
yeah, dudes.
Let me just say this so I'm, Idon't want to, I don't want to
throw godly men under the bus,but I'm just.
I'm just saying, like when Iwas in the world, addy, this is
before Christ.
So when I was in the world, Iused to, if a woman was

(13:37):
interested in me, I'd be like, yeah, I'm interested in you too.
It was like nothing.
And even if they had anotherpartner because I don't know if
it's like that nowadays, but Iknow people dated multiple
people Like you'd be like, hey,you got a.
You tell the girl yeah, you gota boyfriend, yeah, I got a
boyfriend, but we ain't thatserious.

(13:58):
You know, those were the things.
Yeah, we ain't, we ain't likethat.
You know what I mean.
And then, and then you'd belike hold up, you got a husband.
He ain't my husband, I mean,he's my boyfriend, we just
kicking it.
So I don't know too many dudesIf a bad chick got them in the
space, if he would just run.

(14:18):
And that's why I respect Joseph, because he denied his flesh.
You know, one preacher wouldsay that that we got to learn to
overcome dust.
He would say dirt.
He said don't let dirt or dusthave power over you, meaning the

(14:40):
flesh y'all.
So when y'all hear me say dirtor dust, of course we know God
created man from the dust andhe'll be like don't let dust
have power over you.
Cause that's pretty much whatit is, because once we all die
we all go back to the ground, wego back where God has created

(15:00):
us from.
So I respect Joseph in thatregard.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
I think for me, what, what, um?
Why I respect Joseph is it'snot even the fact that he
respected Potiphar is when hesaid how can I do such a wicked
thing against God?
It don't have nothing to dowith your husband.
It's like I reverence and loveGod so much that I would not

(15:24):
commit this sin against God.
And, like you said, not many ofus love and respect God that
much that we would say I willhold on to my virginity, I will
hold on to my purity, I willhold on to my, you know, put my
flesh under God subjection untilGod says okay, you know, let me

(15:49):
go ahead and take you to thenext level, in the next phase.
Not many of us love God thatmuch.
And what it says to me is thatit says something very profound
about Joseph.
Like he wasn't perfect.
You know he bragged to hisbrothers and you know his daddy
about his dreams.
But through his trials hematured and through his trials

(16:10):
he became intimate with God andin that intimacy with God he
understood that, no matter whatwas going on around him, god
always had to get the glory andhe must always be pleasing to
God.
That is what I got from Joseph,is that, and even for us, if
we're saying that, and let mesay it for me, even for me, adne

(16:31):
, if I say that I am a Christian, I am to become like Joseph and
love God so much that thethought of sinning against God
should break my heart, and Ibelieve that's what the heart of
the matter should be, andthat's what he had.
He was like how could I do thisto God?

(16:52):
Like, yeah, your husband hasgiven me rain over everything
except you, and how could I dothis wicked thing against God?
So that's something that we all, as Christians, must take into
consideration.
We need to be in, so in lovewith God that even the thought
of sinning makes us think, oh mygosh, I'm not just doing this

(17:13):
to myself, I'm doing thisagainst my father in heaven.
So that's what I loved aboutJoseph.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
So the last episode is but God, part part one.
This episode right here is verypowerful.
This sister definitely got astory, a long list of
testimonies.
I don't think we won't evenhave time to go through all the
testimonies, what she shared, but we just gonna share a brief
snippet.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Oh, I'm going to church I'm still shaking, and
I'm going to church and I'mstill drinking, but I didn't
have a conscious about it, likeI can do it.
It wasn't something that I hadto think that I would be in
trouble for, because I knew Iwas gonna get up and go to
church and after church orbefore church was still, you

(18:00):
know, be doing the same thing.
Going before going to church, Iknow I'm I'm shaking, and then
when I get out of church I'mstill shaking.
So it was just like I'm doingthe 5x of what I supposed to be
doing on Sunday.
I just knew that on Sunday Ihad to be a church, on Wednesday
I had to be a church, but atthe same time I was still living

(18:21):
the double life.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
So Lord have mercy.
Person living a double life.
Let me tell you what she said, right there was so profound and
powerful.
Let me share some.
I'm gonna share, share with youa personal experience or
testimony of mine before I gotsaved.
You know, like, as you know,we'll both raise up Catholic

(18:44):
Baptists and you know, when Iwas young, the preacher used to
always say do not fornicate, wait till you get married.
Well, he's just say, bo, you'regonna go to hell, right?
And when I was young, thatalways stuck with me.
Like if I, if, like, if I'm notmarried to a woman and I live

(19:07):
with her and I'm doing the doom,I'm doomed, right, I'm doomed.
So I was young and I always hadthat mindset.
So you know, I'll have a lot ofbrothers, all my brothers.
They end up having kids andthey all left the house.
I was the last brother to leavethe house and I only left
because I got married.
Obviously I got married, butthroughout the years in my 20s,

(19:30):
there were women that used totell me like, okay, let's move
in together.
And I would never do it.
I would never.
And I always had in my mindlike you're not my wife, like
why would I try to build a housewith you when you're not even
my wife.
So and I wasn't even saving Istill had that mindset Like why
would I build a home withsomebody that I'm not married to

(19:53):
?
That mean boyfriend andgirlfriend, you can always up
and leave.
If things not working out, youcould just up and leave, or you
could just cheat.
There's no commitment.
So when there's no marriage, there's no commitment, there's
no covenant, so you could go anddo things as you please.
So what I wanted to share withyou, adne.
So before I got saved, I had allthese women because I was

(20:13):
dating and I remember I didn'twant to get rid of the women
that I had before I gotconverted, before I obeyed the
gospel, because I startedthinking about that stuff.
I don't think I told too manypeople about it.
I was like man.
So if I get back in the church,I mean I got to stop dating all
these women.
I'm like man.
I said man.

(20:34):
That's going to be kind of liketough for me, man, because it
was kind of like datingdifferent kind of women and
having conversations with them.
But at the same time I rememberthe Holy Spirit whispered to me
.
It was like OK, so either hellinformant with these women or
you're going to submit to me.
And I thought about that stuff, adne.

(20:55):
I said you know what I said?
There ain't no woman worth mysalvation in my eternal life.
Man, adne, I gave up thosenumbers so quick, I was getting
rid of the numbers out of myphone so quick.
One of my older brothers, hewas like, hey, man, since you
getting close to God, let me getthose numbers, man, so I could
call those women.
I say, nah, bro, I'm just goingto get out rid of all those
numbers Because right now God iscalling me to his kingdom and

(21:19):
he's calling me into ministry.
So I brought that up becauserelationships will hinder a
person, adne, from getting closeto God, relationships that's
not structured in the standardof God.
So what?
Our dear sister was saying thatshe was shacking and she was

(21:40):
living a double life, going toworship and shacking, so living
that double life.
So she was in the middle.
She was great, she was in thecold or hot, she was in the
middle.
So she's the type of peoplethat God said I'll spew you out,
because you're like a lukewarm, you need the cold or hot,
you're like in the middle.
So I say that.
To say it is that if a personis in a relationship that's

(22:00):
ungodly and they shacking, theyknow they're not living right.
They ought to think about thatstuff.
That's why I like what SisterCooper shared that, because I'm
sure she got her breakthroughwhen she realized that, like, oh
man, I got to stop living adouble life, I need to start
taking this stuff seriously.
But that's all I had to say.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
I think and I have to be honest and I'm speaking for
me when I got baptized a yearlater, I had my son.
I wasn't shacking with his dad,but I was still with his dad.
I think, like I said beforewhen we just discussed Joseph,
it's a matter of really fallingin love with God and
understanding A relationshipwith God is more important than

(22:42):
a relationship with anotherhuman being.
That's going to come, but it'sabout building that bond with
God.
Get to the point where even thethought of living with someone
that is not your spouse willmake you cringe and say how can
I do this against God?
You're not even thinking aboutyourself, it's you thinking

(23:03):
about how can I dishonor God inthis way?
And I love how she said that Iwas just doing the five acts.
How many Christians, how manyof us, have just ran through the
routine of OK here, believe, repent, confess and be baptized?
Ok, I got to go sing, take theLord's Supper, give my offering,

(23:24):
listen to a sermon and hey howyou doing, sis?
Oh, I'm good, all right, see youlater, see you next Sunday.
And that's your life.
We have to realize therelationship that we have with
God.
Number one is communioncommunion between us and him and
communal between us and ourbrothers and sisters in Christ.

(23:44):
When we allow ourselves to stayin that sinful state, we're not
doing ourselves any justice.
Who's sharpening you If theperson that you with ain't
walking the same path as you'rewalking?
What's the point?
Y'all both going to go to helltogether anyway.
So you have to realize that it'sabout the relationship with God

(24:06):
that matters.
And that's one of the things Ihad to learn, even after my
thing with my son's father wasthat I didn't love God enough.
And even still now I'm learningthat relationship that I need
to have with God.
It has to be so deep that itconsumes my heart, it consumes
me.
So I don't live that doublelife because it's easy.

(24:30):
It is so easy to fall into thedouble life because, again, sin
is pleasurable.
Sin is extremely pleasurable.
I can stick in the pleasure.
Or I could say you know what, god, I'd rather have the
pleasure when I get married.
It's all in the mindset.
So that's what came to myspirit.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Yeah, that's a good take.
But also what I wanted to bringup that Sister Love Cooper
mentioned, and sometimes itcould be tough for women, adne,
because look at it this way, they live in with a guy that's
unsaved and they get saved andthen, like Sister Cooper
mentioned, she was like this isall like God.
God, like where am I going togo?
Now, this is a grown woman, like she want to, she have a

(25:15):
desire to do the right thing, but the flesh is like saying,
like she stuck with this dude atthe house and she's like God, I
want to do right, but where amI going to go?
But through it all, godeventually blessed her in that
regard, because there's a lot ofindividuals, either male or

(25:37):
female, they may be stuck in aposition like that.
They want to do right by God,but they're asking God, like God
, I want to do right by you, butwhere can I go?
I've been stuck here for solong.
I mean, if I just leave, weknow rent is high, we're in a
recession.
We're in a recession, we'rekind of stuck.

(25:57):
God, you got to help me out, lord, lord, you know what I mean
.
But Sister Cooper explained itwell in the way she pointed it
out and during the course of herinterview she did a wonderful
job of explaining that and Ithink that's where a lot of
people get stuck and that's whatit just got to trust in God
through the process, because ourflesh and sin will lead us far

(26:22):
away from God.
But God knows if you want itbad enough.
God is faithful, faithfulenough to open those doors.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
I mean, I agree, I agree 100%.
But again, it's all about afaith.
Walk right.
If we stay here and say, oh mygosh, rent is high, that means
that we don't trust God.
If we look at the increase oflife, knowing that our Father
owns a cattle on a thousand hilland I'm not speaking against my
dear sister, I'm speaking forus now, if you're in that

(26:52):
situation, it's either you'regoing to have faith and trust
God will move in your life andget you out of the situation, or
you're going to stay therebecause it's comfortable,
because a lot of times beingcomfortable in knowing versus
being uncomfortable and notknowing is easier.
It is so much easier to be in acomfortable situation versus

(27:15):
packing your bag and leavingthat situation and moving on.
What I am grateful and thankfulfor, like you said, is the Lord
delivered her.
The Lord delivered her out ofher situation and she is
thriving.
She is really truly thrivingand she's growing spiritually.
Sometimes it's a matter ofletting go of the path and

(27:38):
allowing God to move in yourfuture.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
So that's well said.
That's well said.
I think that's about it, but Ihope you all enjoyed the top
three episodes.
Go back and listen to them.
Also, leave it in the shownotes.
Tame R we have a part one and apart two.
Joseph go back and listen to allthe Joseph episodes and you can
go ahead and listen to but God,part one and part two.
So remember world again.
