Speaker 1 (00:00):
So we, as children of God, and I want to encourage
you that we can't be selfishwith this stuff.
When I mean this stuff, I'mtalking about the gospel.
I'm talking about opening ourmouths.
I'm talking about being boldfor the sake of the gospel.
I'm talking about Utilizingyour platform or using your
social media Whatever that yougot, that that God can use to

(00:20):
bring him the glory that men andwomen could be saved.
That's what you have to do.
So we, we've brought numerous ofpeople on to share their
God-given journey, theirGod-given story, how they became
saved.
Because, adne, I could tell youone thing when God saved me
from darkness, mm-hmm, goddidn't just save me just so I

(00:42):
could stop clubbing or Cussingor doing all those sinful acts.
That was an opposition to hisword-willing way.
Welcome to the call by Godpodcast with Adne Godin and
myself, nixon Sylvain.
This show is about dialogues ofbiblical characters and
testimonies of Christians whosubmitted to the will of God.
Each week, we bring on oneguest so that they can share

(01:05):
their story how they were calledby God.
I hope this show inspires you.
Enjoy, hello and welcome worldto the call by God podcast.
I'm yours truly, brother Nick, and I'm here with sister Adne
Godin how you doing on thisblessed day, sis.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Brother Nick, I am doing amazing.
And I'm saying I'm doingamazing because God is good,
right, no matter what is goingon, he's still good, he's still
true, he's still merciful andstill so kind.
And I'm still here onassignment, right as long as
there's breath In my lungs.
That mean God.
That means that God is not donewith me.
So I'm doing amazing.

(01:45):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Same here.
I'm amazing, I am, I'm feelinggreat, it don't matter what's
going on in my world.
I've had to learn over theyears I need to praise them when
I'm up and praise them when I'mdown, because weeping me and
door for a night.
But I heard the Bible says butjoy, joy coming to the morning.

(02:10):
So we know in this life that weall would have trouble.
But Jesus Christ said be ofgood cheer.
So he have overcome all things.
So we just thankful to God.
So I'm just so thankful for hisword.
That's a source ofencouragement in my life, at
ease.
So I'm, I'm blessed, I'm blessedand even if I, if I wasn't good
, I'll say I'm not good, butI'll sound blessed.
I said it.
Say that in the same voice.

(02:31):
I'm good, I'm not too new, toowell, but I'm still blessed,
bless, bless to not be in toowell, because you know, um, I
once heard somebody say that, man, you know, when I feel pain,
that's an indication that I'mstill here, that God ain't done
with me.
Yet I still can feel pain.
Yeah, you ought to be introuble.

(02:53):
You don't feel pain, um, or orany kind of movement.
That's when you oughta.
Yeah, that means you donecrossed over, your assignment is
done.
So it's a good thing to be usedby God.
So I'm excited.
But adding this is the finale, the finale of Joseph, as I

(03:13):
mentioned in other episodes.
I man adding you know we werefinally finishing Genesis.
We've been touching on thesebiblical characters for what?
Two years and some change twoyears and some change and this
is the finale, not only withJoseph, but this is the finale

(03:34):
with the book of Genesis, unless, unless if you want to go back
and touch on any other characterthat we haven't touched on.
But I think, I think we're good.
I think we probably got anothercharacter, don't we?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I think we missed it one character and we haven't
spoken about her.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Oh yeah that's dynast .

Speaker 2 (03:54):
So okay we're definitely gonna have a good
discussion.
Even if I got to do thediscussion by myself, I will do
it.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I'm gonna join you.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I'm gonna join you people need to know about Sister
Diana.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, we, we can't forget about the sisters now, we
?
Good, so this is not the finaleof Genesis, okay, good, it's
good to know.
So we're gonna go back andwe're gonna, yeah, talk about
sister.
Oh, diana, is it Diana or DinaDiana?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Diana.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Dina, okay, perfect, all right.
Well, this is the finale ofJoseph, so I'm gonna go.
We're gonna talk about Josephjust briefly, since this is the
finale.
We're gonna talk about what welearned and what was the whole
theme and the the whole purposeof Joseph.
So I want to start off bysaying this before adding to
read the scripture and have yourBible's ready, because adding
is gonna read Genesis, chapter50, verses 15 Through 21.

(04:48):
But before she do so, this iswhat I want to say while we wrap
up this whole episode aboutJoseph.
So this last chapter is thatJacob and his family.
They settled in the land ofGoshen because, going back to
chapter 6.
We didn't talk about it, butJoseph ended up moving all his
family from the land of Canaanto the land of Egypt.

(05:10):
Because we know what happenedhe was a famine and Joseph
wanted to see his dad and hereconciled with his whole family
.
Initially he reconciled withall his brothers.
Then, of course, he missed hisdad like any Sun would.
So he missed his dad, so hesent for his dad.
So when he sent for his dad, hesent for his whole family.
So they had a whole entourage.
So they had a land in the landof Goshen, which was in Egypt.

(05:33):
So Farrell gave it to them as aplace to live and I want you
that's, that's historical rightthere, because this gonna mean a
lot when we start reading thebook of Exodus.
So keep in mind that theseIsraelites are settled in Goshen
, in Egypt, and this is a placethat was given by Farrell.
So Jacob the father, daddy, daddy, jacob, slash Israel,

(05:55):
blessed Joseph sons and headopted them as his own.
So we know Manasseh and Ephraimwas half Egyptian, half
Israelite.
So he adopted Manasseh andEphraim as his own and he gave
them a share of the inheritancealongside with his other
brothers.
So before Jacob died, slashIsrael.

(06:19):
He prophesied that Joseph willbe fruitful, like be a fruitful
vine and that his descendantswill be a blessing to the world.
And After Joseph's death, hislegacy as a wise and
compassionate leader continuedand the Israelites remembered
him as a symbol of God'sfaithfulness and province.

(06:42):
But before his death we wantedto kind of zoom in of how the
brothers react when, when, when, the daddy died and that's where
you come and play at.
The ad is gonna read Genesis 50, 15 through 21.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
And it reads but now that their father was dead,
joseph's brothers became fearful.
Now Joseph will show his angerand pay us back for all the
wrong we did to him, they said.
So they sent this message toJoseph Before your father died.
He instructed us to say to youplease forgive your brothers for

(07:22):
the great wrong they did to you, for their sin in treating you
so cruelly.
So we, the servants of the Godof your father, beg you to
forgive our sin.
When Joseph received themessage, he broke down and wept.
When his brothers came andthrew themselves down before him

(07:43):
and sorry, before Joseph, look,we are your slaves, they said.
But Joseph replied Don't beafraid of me.
Am I God and can I punish you?
You attended.
You intended to harm me, butGod intended it all for good.
He brought me to this positionso I could save the lives of so

(08:09):
many people.
No, don't be afraid, I willcontinue to take care of you and
your children.
So he reassured them byspeaking kindly to them.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Wow, yeah, that's awesome and thank you again for
sharing that.
So you see how the brothersfelt when the daddy died.
They really thought that Jacobwould punish them because of
what they did in the past.
And, adne, you know, that showsme that sometimes folks would

(08:42):
have forgiven you and sometimesit's hard to even forgive
yourself because they're notletting it go.
I'm sure Joseph let it go.
Like dude, it's over with.
Like dude, you don't have to besaying all that.
Because they feel like as longas the daddy was around, joseph
wouldn't do no harm to us.
So they're looking at it likeokay, now that the daddy is gone

(09:03):
, like Joseph, please, please, forgive us, but I'm sure that
Joseph had in his heart, likedude, that stuff is back in the
day.
I let that stuff go already.
And that helps me, adne, thateven sometimes the people that
we forgive, sometimes they mayhave that in their heart and

(09:23):
sometimes we need to embrace ourbrother and our sister to
reassure them like, hey, it'sgoing to be all right, I let it
go.
You have to be able to forgiveyourself and I think that's one
of the hardest things to Adne, like sometimes when a person is
very remorseful, sometimes it'shard to let that thing go.
What is your observation basedon what you just read?

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Then brother thought Joseph was going to turn to Mrs
Slaves and what they did.
But the thing, like you justsaid, when you do wrong to
someone and that person showsyou kindness and they're
forgiving you, it's hard for youto forgive yourself because you
know why.
You knew if the shoe was on theother foot you would not have

(10:09):
been as forgiving, you would nothave been as kind, and that's
the one thing I had to learn.
So let's bring it to moderntime.
If you did someone wrong andthey've forgiven you, they're
speaking kind to you.
Take a look at your heart, because if you can't forgive
yourself, that means that youknow what you did was so bad.

(10:31):
And if the shoe was on theother foot you would not have
forgiven that person for whatwas done.
And like you said, brother Nick, we always have to take an
introspective look at ourselvesand forgive ourselves,
especially if the person has letit go.
Stop repeating it.
Let it go because they didright.

(10:52):
And the beauty of Joseph I lovewhen it says he continued to
speak kindly.
So, joseph.
So he reassured them byspeaking kindly to them Like he
did his demeanor.
Nothing shifted about him.
He continued, he stayed thesame course, the same way.
When he revealed himself tothem, cried on their shoulder,

(11:14):
he remained that same person.
What they saw when they firstcame was not the person that
they are dealing with now, because then Joseph was
operating out of his pain.
Now he's operating out of hisforgiveness right?
He's operating in the spirit ofreconciliation.
Like y'all, my brothers, I'mgoing to take care of y'all and
y'all children.
Y'all have nothing to worryabout, and that's one thing that

(11:35):
we all have to understand, especially, especially in the
body of Christ.
I loathe when people say bloodis thicker than water, and
you're dealing with a brotherand sister in Christ.
You have to understand yes, blood is thicker than water.
The blood that is thicker thanwater is the blood of Jesus that

(11:56):
has washed both of you fromyour sins and has made you
brothers and sisters in Christ, your blood relatives.
They don't have a heaven orhell to put you in.
That is God's job.
So you're going to lose.
You're going to lose yoursalvation because your brother
or your sister has an ought withanother brother in the body,
and you know that is not evenyour fight.

(12:17):
Let it go.
Do not lose your soul oversomething that has nothing to do
with you.
Let God deal with them and letthem deal with that situation
and reconcile the situation, because this is what Joseph
shows us, like understanding whohe is in.
God gave him a heart offorgiveness for his brothers,

(12:41):
gave him a heart of compassionfor his brothers, like he spoke
kindly to them, and we alwayshave to remember that the blood
that is thicker than any bloodis the blood that covers us as
Christians.
Those who have said I believethat Jesus Christ is the Son of
God and we went down into thatwatery grave of baptism, rose

(13:04):
again as new creatures, asmembers of the kingdom of God.
That's the water, that's theblood that counts and that's
what the Holy Spirit laid on myheart.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Yeah, amen.
That's well said and I reallylike chapter 50, verse 20, when
it says that and for you, josephis referring to the brothers.
He said you meant evil againstme.
He said, yeah, you had illintentions against me, but God
meant it for good.
To bring it about that, youknow, bring it about that many

(13:37):
people should be kept alive asthey were today.
So I like how you have said inthe past, adne, that our story
is not our story, it's for thebetterment of others.
And I think sometimes we couldbe so selfish to keep a lot of
things to ourselves, notrealizing that, yeah, some of
the things that we endure, although maybe good or bad, we
know that, according to Romans 8, 28, all things gonna work for

(14:00):
the good.
And we see that, even thoughyou know things don't start off
good or things tend to be workout on the wrong foot, we know
that God could change thingsaround.
And I like Joseph's story somuch because Joseph's story is
not about Joseph.
I want y'all to you know, takeheed to that.

(14:21):
Joseph's story is not aboutJoseph.
Okay, how about if I put itthis way when you became a
Christian, you became aChristian or you become an
Christian is not solely for you, only you.
Yeah, you're blessed.
Yeah, if you die, you're gonnago to a place of rest and wait

(14:44):
till the Father come.
Yeah.
But when God changes us, whenGod restore us through the
ministry of reconciliation, weare back in fellowship with God.
God, he restores us infellowship with Him.
So we could take that word, that same seed where the Danes
is talking about the soul andthe seed we, he put that word in

(15:08):
us so we can restore or so wecan help others.
We see here that Josephbrothers had ill will, they had
bad intentions towards him.
But God had another plan.
God plan was to put Joseph inpower.
God plan was to put Joseph inleadership.

(15:29):
Why?
To save Israel.
Cause, remember, god has a plan.
God's plan is for Jesus is tocome through Israel, judah, the
tribe of Judah, so that familyhas to be preserved.
So that's God's plan, and Godis always interested of His
family, his children.

(15:50):
So we, as children of God and Iwant to encourage you that we
can't be selfish with this stuffwhen I mean this stuff, I'm
talking about the gospel, I'mtalking about opening our mouths
, I'm talking about being boldfor the sake of the gospel.
I'm talking about utilizingyour platform or using your
social media.
Whatever that you got that Godcan use to bring Him the glory

(16:12):
that men and women could besaved.
That's what you have to do.
So we brought numerous of peopleon to share their God-given
journey, their God-given story, how they became saved.
Because, adani, I could tellyou one thing when God saved me
from darkness, god didn't justsave me just so I could stop

(16:34):
clubbing or cussing or doing allthose sinful acts.
That was an opposition to HisWord-willing way.
God saved me because he knewthat he could use me as a vessel
to draw many people to Him.
And that's the same thingapplies to each and every saint,
each and every person thatcalled themselves a Christian.

(16:55):
That's the requirement.
We said this in Epilogue numbersix.
We have the ministry ofreconciliation.
So anything that's happened badpeople may be thinking oh God, I
don't know why this happened tome.
Oh, why I got in a car accident, why I lost a loved one, why
I'm losing my job, why chaos hashappened to me.

(17:15):
All things work together forthe good.
That's why it's funny that Isaid that and I said in the
beginning of the show.
I said well, weeping man, do itfor a night, but joy coming in
the morning.
Trouble don't last always.
We're going to have a littletrouble now and then, but God
has called you for a biggerpurpose.
I don't know, adani, that'swhat God had laid in my heart.

(17:36):
When I think about Joseph, I tryto make it more relatable and
practical, so people could takeJoseph's story and they could
say well, joseph was deep, joseph was deep.
Joseph got so Joseph brotherswas about to kill him.
Joseph brother hated him to thepoint where they wanted him
dead and they sold him intoslavery.
He went to prison for beingaccused of rape and he got put

(18:00):
in a position.
And not only got put inposition, but he was away from
his family.
He was being raised by aforeign family, a land of
Egyptians, and God brought itall back together.
That's a beautiful story.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
What I love is as I'm listening to you speaking and
I'm going back into the mind ofwhat Jesus did.
It's the same thing.
They accused Jesus of being ablasphemer, a liar, a Beelzebub,
he said he cast out demons bythe spirit of demons.

(18:36):
Then their jealousy took themto the next level.
Their jealousy took them to thepoint of Paying one of his
closest friends to betray him,get him at the garden and
scourge him, slap him, spit onhim, then hang him high, stretch

(19:01):
him wide.
For us, we have endured apandemic.
We're still, whether we believeit or not.
There are still remnants ofthat pandemic going on, because
COVID-19 ain't going nowhere.
But we have a Savior who'sstill alive and well, sitting at
the right hand of God, and myprayer is that we understand the

(19:23):
only reason we are still hereon earth is because Jesus does
not want anyone to perish, butfor all to come to repentance.
But there will come a time.
There will come a moment whenthe Father says enough and when
he says enough.
If you are not found in thenumber, just know that you will

(19:46):
be found in a number and thatnumber that you're found in I
pray for you.
I pray that God has, and Idon't mean to sound morbid, but
I pray for you.
I really, truly do, and that'swhat the Holy Spirit laid on my
heart to share.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
