Hello from the Amplifying newsroom. I'm Ashley Nolan. Mark Parton
has officially become the Camber Liberals newest leader, alongside Deborah
Morris as their deputy leader. Coming after Leanne Cassley and
Jeremy Hanson stepped down. Parton has hit the ground running,
laying down his priorities for his party and for the Act.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
To can Barons. It's got to be about getting outcomes
at the end of the day when you get down
in the suburbs talking to people, and I talked to
thousands of them. For most people, it's not about ideology,
it's about outcome, and we're here to get better outcomes
for the people out in the suburbs.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
We can expect to see some delays on Commonwealth Avenue
Bridge for the next couple of weeks as major renewal
works begin this Thursday. Sections of Commonwealth Avenue and all
of Commonwealth Avenue Bridge will be reduced to two lanes
in both directions, with additional closures expected in off peak hours.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
We will be physically lifting the bridge to replace the
bridge bearings and cutting holes in the bridge deck to
get access inside the bridge to do the strengthening works.
As you can imagine we can't have any live traffic
on the bridge while we're undertaking those works.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
David Wright from the National Capital Authority There, the Act
Property Council says it's disappointed in a decision to subject
the Act's long awaited housing zoning reforms to a formal inquiry.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
We can't afford another six months of delay before it's
really vital planning reform kicks into gear. We don't need
another inquiry. We need homes on the ground and that's
exactly what Missing Middle and these reforms would have.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Delivered, Executive Director Ashley Bury. There, they're calling for all
Members of the Assembly to keep the process moving as
quickly as possible. Anthony Alberizi has pledged a statue of
Gough Whitlam fifty years on from the former PM's dismissal.
The Prime Minister marking the start of the dismissal's anniversary
at an event at Old Parliament House.

It was a partisan political ambush. None of this is
to say GoF Whitlam or the government he led was perfect.

We've been invited to join the War Memorial and they're
Remembrance Day National ceremony today from eleven am to one
of those who served and died for Australia. However, for
those who can't make it to the ceremony, there are
still ways you can take part.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
The other thing that all Camberans can do wherever they
are is just to set their alarm for a minute
to eleven so they can actually stop and pause and
give thanks. And if they do that then I think
the service and the sacrifice of generations for Australians might
be in vain.

Director Matt Anderson there and Canberra Olympic Football Club has
confirmed it's looking at ways to support gingaland community players
after Gingalen United folded. Olympics says it's collaborating with Capital
Football and Community Reps to support football programs in the
Gingalen region. The club is inviting expressions of interest from

players and families who like to be part of community
football based out of Harrison from twenty twenty six. And
