Hello from the Amplified newsroom. I'm Hayden Visera. Russia has
lost its fight with the Federal government for a new
embassy here in Canberra. A lease on a site was
granted to Russia in two thousand and eight, but was
later withdrawn under a new law on national security grounds.
The High Court today finding the law was valid, though
the Commonwealth will need to compensate Russia for revoking the lease.

The Federal government has launched its AI Plan for the
Australian Public Service, which will guide the adoption of AI
across the governments. Under the plan, every federal public servant
will have access to generative AI tools, comprehensive training and
guidance on how to use the tools safely and responsibly.
Public Service Minister Katie Gallaherst says the APSAI plan puts

strong governance and transparency at its core, with human oversight
always present. Liberal MPs are meeting here in Canberra to
decide their position on Net zero. Opposition leader Susan Lee
is under press to dump the policy, which is once

been charged after allegedly committing armed robbery and multiple attempted carjackings.
ACT Police alleged the boy used a wrench to break
a display case to steal phones at Westfield Woden shopping
center yesterday before fleeing on foots. The boy then allegedly
injured one woman and threw another man out of his

car when he attempted to steal three vehicles at knife point.
Police arrested the boy in Ainsley last night and he
scheduled to appear in the ACT Children's Court today. The
nation's top spy has warned Chinese government backed hackers have
been trying to target critical Australian infrastructure. A Boss Mike
Burgess says we now face a threat of high impact

sabotage which would come at a huge cost to the economy.

One point one billion dollars per incident. An economy wide
week long disruption will cost six billion dollars and in
its report, the Institute's stress that these are extremely conservative

A flight from Adelaide to Canberra was forced to turn
around after just ten minutes in the air this morning.

two thirds of Australians say they don't know when the
storm season is and almost a third leave insurance to
the last minutes.

With a deadline fast approaching for Big Splash to reopen
and community concern growing, the government has reiterated it will
take action. Originally, the owners said the plan was to
reopen by mid this month. But there's been ongoing reports
around a lack of improvement at the sites. M malay
Tara Chain says if a big Splash doesn't reopen in
a reasonable period around the date they advised, Access Canberra

may take regulatory action which could result in the lease
being terminated and Menulogue is quitting Ossie operations after two
decades in the business. The food delivery company urging customers
with vouchers or credits to use them before November twenty six.
