Council has deferred a decision on a potential rate hike
for local residents. Council has met last night to look
at three proposals, including one to raise rates by forty
percent for one year. Council Chief Executive Galen Burley says
after much debate, the decision has been deferred until March

Scammers are impersonating police to target assies for cryptocurrency thefts.
Federal Police say criminals are getting personal information and using
them to submit false reports to Australia's National cyber Crime
Reporting Tool. They're then calling up targets and trying to
get them to transfer funds from their cryptocurrency or seed wallets.

Police have confirmed a fire in the lobby of an
office building in the city this morning is being treated
as suspicious. Fire and Rescue were alerted to the fire
at the corner of Farrell Place and Marcus Clark Street
at around five am this morning. They have since handed
over the scene to police. The government is claiming a
win with the latest job figures. The unemployment rate fell

to four point three percent in the October quarter, Employment
Minister Amanda Rishworth saying the state's exceed market expectations with
a record number of Ossie's working.

These jobs figures were driven particularly by an increase in
full time employment, meaning Australians are getting the hours that
they need.

A reminder that works on Commonwealth Bridge get under way
today with lane closures in place. The bridge will gradually
be reduced to two lanes in both directions. Northbound closures
will be in place from today, with southbound closures to
