What do you do when your mentor starts giving you really bad advice on things they know nothing about? You dump them, that's what you do! I describe how pissed I am at Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway for using their huge podcast audience to try to influence the Canadian election, from the USA!
I describe my history as Kara’s biggest Canadian podcast fan, and how I’ve been a supporter of their shows since day one, giving them lift in Canada whenever I could. I explain how my podcast-listener relationship with Kara and Scott’s content changed once they started meddling in Canada’s internal politics.
Our election is in its last few days. It’s very tight. Canada is tense, but still a democracy (unlike the USA, which seems to be quickly turning into a banana republic). What gives Scott and Kara any authority to pick the leader of Canada? WTF.
Neither Scott Galloway nor Kara Swisher have any right to tell Canadians how to vote. So they must be doing it for money. That makes it even worse, and distinctly American.
Since USA liberal/Democratic mainstream media has been cowed and beaten by their lunatic president, many U.S. media figures have reinvented themselves as hyperpundits, a new category of American media personality. Hyperpundits are people who use their massive reach and platforms to spread misinformation, dick jokes, entertainment, banter, and host-read advertising. They feel they have the authority to talk about anything, and that we should believe them completely. Ha!
