Speaker 1 (00:00):

Central Pennsylvania Music
Podcast special.
I'm your host, daniel.
We are at Love Drafts Brewingin Mechanicsburg, pa, for the
iRock Radio 10-Year BirthdayBash.
Please stay tuned for a bunchof awesome interviews with local
musicians and some even fromafar.
I'm sitting here with JayHunter at the 10-Year
(00:20):
Anniversary Bash at JB LoveDrafts in Mechanicsburg,
pennsylvania.
Jay, thank you so much for yourtime and coming on the show and
having us here.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Oh, it's a pleasure
to have you guys here.
I mean, it's been a long roadto get to something like this
and to be able to incorporate somany different people and so
many different venues andpromoters and you guys.
It's unbelievable, so it's anhonor.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
It's great to be,
it's an honor to be a part of
this as well, so thank you forhaving us.
Jay, you wear a lot of hatswith the organization iRock
Radio, one of them being thefounder, and it's not just you,
there's a lot, so you have awhole team Can we dive into that
and maybe learn a little bitmore.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, so iRockRadiome
, because a lot of people do ask
about the me.
Okay, so what happened was whenwe first started the radio
station, it was on a privateserver called Live 365.
Okay.
A lot of amateur radio peoplethey set up and it's a great
network to download for free andlisten to a bunch of people's
(01:20):
private radio stations, okay.
So when we looked for a websitethen to branch out, we noticed
that iRockRadiocom was taken andthe owners were selling it, but
they were selling it for $1,200.
And this was a hobby that wascreated out of five college
(01:41):
buddies on a laptop computer ina one bedroom apartment.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Oh, my goodness, okay
, so like Facebook, yes, yes.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Like literally yeah
exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
So, um, yeah, when we
, when we decided to branch out,
we still didn't have any moneyfor it.
So it's like all right, we gotto keep the expenses down to a
bare minimum, and one of it waswe're not spending $1, hundred
dollars on a website, so wewanted to keep the name, because
we were already on live 365with the name.
Yeah, and we, we looked up andlike dot org was taken at the
(02:12):
time, net was taken at the time, and we didn't want to have it
be, you know, stuck into like astate or a you know whatever, or
even a country, for that matter.
So we found the dot me and Iwas like, well, well, it begins
with, I ends with me.
It's going to be easy toremember.
Yeah, so that's where the mecame from.
(02:33):
But the five of us, we all wentto college together.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Which guys go to
college.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
We were college geeks
at the college radio station of
Lehigh Carbon Community CollegeOkay, which, by the way, they
had an college radio station ofLehigh Carbon Community College
Okay, which, by the way, theyhad an amazing radio station.
They really did, otherwise Iwouldn't have spent five years
there, couldn't leave right.
I changed my major three times.
Oh my goodness yeah.
But in the end it ended withsales, marketing and
(03:00):
broadcasting.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
But we all got
together and they got behind it.
Two of them, two of theoriginal DJs, are still behind
the scenes.
They're our IT people, okay, and they are our engineers on
the acoustic patio Right overthere For our birthday bash yes.
Okay, so Andy Andrews and T-BoneAll right and T-Bone.
When he used to DJ on ourstation, his studio was in his
(03:26):
office.
He was the engineer for theHispanic radio station in New
York City, so his studio that hewas doing his show on I Rock
Radio was at the top of theEmpire State Building.
Oh my goodness.
So it was not a line of BS, hewas actually broadcasting from
it and from there we just kindof grew and if you build it,
they will come.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
They say yeah, we've
learned that for sure ourselves.
Wow, so I mean 10 years now.
You started in an apartment.
Yeah, five guys, how manypeople are you up to now?
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Right now we have a
staff of 14 DJs Wow and then
some additional promotionalpeople, ambassadors, things of
that nature.
So from you know, eventually, people that I worked with at
other FM radio stations, becauseI had a 23 career in FM radio
before doing this- Okay.
So a bunch of people that I usedto work at at different radio
(04:21):
stations.
They became a part of it, theysaw what was going on.
They're like oh, oh, thissounds really good.
And you know, I have to give alot of credit too to our imaging
guy.
Uh, our the guy that createsthe little sweeps in between the
songs, that has a cool voiceand does a lot of fancy
production.
Yeah, so he was.
He was a a country-widepromotion uh imaging production
(04:42):
guy, okay, and he was thesecondary voice guy of wbab in
long island, uh wysp inphiladelphia.
Um, so he was.
He was no stranger to uhprofessional radio and imaging,
so he gave us that really bigcommercial uh radio sound that
you needed.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yeah, and so you know
, with with me writing the copy
and him voicing it and producingit, it was like we were off to
the races.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
So you guys just went
from.
You started out and you justwent straight into
professionalism with it.
You wasted no time and justjust by running, just by sound.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
It actually was.
You know, I mean I.
I was you know, I mean I.
I love and will always look backon fond memories of the
chameleon club yes and uh, itwas, uh, greg, the manager of
the chameleon club at the time, who now owns phantom power.
Yep, um, it was his ideabecause he used I used to work
with him when I was at 105, 70x,okay, and he was like you know,
(05:43):
the radio stations don't reallycome out and hang up banners
and do stuff anymore and I wascoming out to interview the
bands that were coming, like notthe local, just the local bands
, but the national bands, andyou were interviewing them on
behalf of IROC Radio.
Okay, but he was like you know, you can come out and represent
(06:03):
the station, because we alwaysliked when it looked bigger,
when the radio station was there, and they would come out and
they would introduce the bandsand you know, we would throw
stuff off stage, etc.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
And like that.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
You know that that
old school mentality that's kind
of been lost anymore because of, you know, a lot of times,
budget reasons, yeah, andfortunately we don't do this
stuff on budget, we do it offpassion.
So, uh, you know we, we have,we have eight of our staff
members here.
None of them are getting paid.
You know I'm losing a ton ofmoney today, but you know with
(06:38):
from.
You know buying things like atent in case it was going to
rain, and you know everything.
But you know it's it's not everyday that you end up doing
something like this but, to getback to your question, because I
, I am, I'm like a, a rabbit,kind of like scurrying all over
the place I love that not uhsticking to one question, but,
um, we, we ended up getting djsfrom all the other stations that
(07:02):
I worked at and then eventually, uh, personalities from uh
different people that would comeout and follow different bands.
And, last but not least, I'd betotally wrong and I'd be angry
at myself for not mentioning theShiprocked Cruise, because, you
know, we just kind of went outon the Shiprocked cruise, two of
(07:24):
us my friend Eric he goes byEazy-E and I, and he was the one
that convinced me to go on theShiprocked cruise, and that
cruise is just absolutelyamazing.
You leave with a family thatyou literally look forward to
your next family reunion everyyear.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
That's amazing.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
And it's just the
best music festival on on on the
scene.
So met a few people on the boat, including our international
model and dj denica wilde okaywho's from alberta, canada?
Speaker 1 (07:57):
oh my goodness, yes
getting international now.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, so I mean we
already had, uh, mr ed from Long
Island and Philadelphia goingback and forth.
We already had someone from NewJersey, we already have Jackson
and now Abe from Maryland andRick Becker, who I used to work
with at 10570X that lives in StPetersburg Florida.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
So now, yeah, we've
gone international, with Danica
joining us and being ourCanadian personality.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
That is amazing.
So I mean you have done a lotin just 10 years.
10 years is not a long time.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Feels like forever,
but it's truly.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
At one point you had
mentioned that you know you're
losing money on this and you'redoing all this because it's
passion.
You care about it.
You care about the music, thecommunity.
That's what we do here and it'sall for our music scene because
that's what we care about.
And it's really neat that weall share that here in Central
Pennsylvania, that we all havethis passion for the music
community.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
What do you think is
so special about this area that
brings that passion that youhave, that we have, that all of
our, our viewers and our, ourfans and our bands have what?
Where do you think that passionstems from?
Well, I, I think we have a lotof pride just in ourselves and
where we're from, aspennsylvanians, first of all.
First of all, um, I know, beingoriginally from scoogle county,
where some of the the otherbands that are performing here
are, like you know, the Schukes.
We joke about the Schuke.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
And you know, kind of
like the whole Perry County
thing which, by the way, I lovePerry County too but you know
I'm not, you know, going to actlike the old Harrisburg mayor
saying bad things about PerryCounty.
But we joke about it but it'sall in fun.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Yeah, you know that,
but we joke about it, but it's
all in fun.
Yeah, we're one big family andwe like to poke at each other.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
But we have a pride
kind of in where we're from and
it's a lot easier to have moreof that passion when you have so
many talented bands that playhere, and so when you have all
that talent around you, it'sreally easy to get excited about
it and try to share that withother people.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
And, uh, you know, we
, we, just now we have an outlet
to share it with people in 88different countries.
And, uh, you know, all over, all over the country.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
So what's that
feeling like knowing you have
that outreach?
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Uh, it's.
It's a little overwhelmingbecause I have to sometimes
remind my DJs because whenthey're doing their shift
they're literally in a room bythemselves and there's no
instant gratification, there'sno phone call, there's no
anything.
So I'm like you got to rememberyou're talking about how hot it
(10:43):
is outside, but someone inaustralia right now is having
winter yeah uh, now our one, djdamien.
He jokes that people arelistening all over the world,
this person in this country, this person in this country and
some guy in a cardboard box inromania.
So we kind of let that go onfor years and years.
So now we, we, we, apparently, even though it's, it's an
(11:06):
oxymoron you're not going tohave power or a cell phone if
you're in a cardboard box inromania.
But we have a listener in acardboard box in romania.
That's amazing.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Well, it's great to
see what you've done.
I'm really excited, once again,to be here at this event.
We thank you so much for havingus.
If there's anything else you'dlike to shout out before we, uh,
go ahead and wrap this up, but, man, it's been a great great
time.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
I mean I, I just
there, there's so many people to
thank and I don't want to belike stevie wonder at the awards
, but, um, but I mean in allhonesty, uh, you know, this time
around, this birthday bash, uh,for 10 years is is very special
because this is the first one.
Usually, what we've done in thepast and I'll be honest, cause
(11:47):
it, you know it was easier to doit was pick a tour that we play
all the bands and then add oneor two national or locals to it.
But this one in particular, nick from seven one, seven
entertainment, has beenpatiently waiting for his chance
to host the iRock radiobirthday bash.
(12:09):
Okay, and so when 10 years wascoming up, the first thing I
thought of was you know what?
We have so many great bands.
We should do this whole thingwith all local bands and then
have it headlined by you know alocal, know national band now.
But as we thought more and more,it was his idea to book each
(12:31):
band separately instead ofgrabbing a tour.
And he said what if I got theband 10 years?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
That's perfect.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
And you know I said,
let me know, I was on Shiprocked
when he messaged me and saidthat 10 years was a part of it.
So I want to thank Nick at 717Entertainment for being patient
and actually putting together anevent that's done from scratch.
Yep, love drafts for the venue.
(13:02):
That's a perfect venue becausewe have an acoustic patio and
the inside, um and uh, honestly,uh, greg Barley, who used to
manage the chameleon club, because if he wouldn't have
started telling us to come inand start hosting events at the
chameleon club, it wouldn't haveprogressed to chameleon club
and reverb, chameleon club, reverb and H Mac, and then then
(13:25):
you know, love drafts, etc.
So, uh, you know, those are, those are some key players right
there.
And, uh, and our two sound guysthat were original djs, uh,
chris andy andrews and, uh, tonyt-bone, thomas uh, they, they
are responsible for for a lot ofkeeping us online.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Awesome man, that's
great.
Well, it sounds like a truework of passion.
Glad to be a part of it.
Glad to be here.
Thank you so much for your time.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Sorry for the
rambling.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
No, oh my goodness,
we love that, and we are all so
appreciative of everyone that'shelped out and very thankful for
you guys being here.
Thank, you.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
We wouldn't miss it
for the world.
So thank you so much.
Speaker 9 (14:08):
Take care Sitting
here with Ed and Mark from.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Lindhurst.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Every time.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Really excited to
have you guys back on the show.
Speaker 11 (14:12):
It's been a little
while, don't worry about that.
That's fine, we'll get it later.
That's just an expensive pieceof equipment.
What'd you drop?
Don't worry about it.
Yeah, we'll talk about it afterEverything's fine, all right.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
So, talking a little
bit right before, we aired here
a couple of exciting things.
You just released a new EP,correct?
Speaker 11 (14:29):
Yeah, we just
released our EP Dear Anxiety.
That was on April 12th and it'sreally cool.
It's been very cool since then.
The reception's been awesome.
Yeah, and it's really cool tosee, like because we put out two
singles from it beforehand.
It's really cool to seeeverybody listening to the other
songs on it too.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, that's awesome,
and then you did a little tour
to promote that as well, right?
Speaker 11 (14:49):
Yep, we went kind of
all up and down New England.
Speaker 7 (14:51):
We slept in a 2019
Chevy Equinox.
Speaker 11 (14:54):
Yep, we slept in my
car, towed a little trailer
behind us.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
It was a good time we
slept in a Target parking lot
with an air mattress.
We slept in a lot of parkinglots, that's right.
Speaker 11 (15:01):
On air mattresses
and went to Planet Fitness every
day to shower and all that theycall that stealth camping these
days actually.
It's glamping.
We did it with style.
Speaker 7 (15:10):
Oh, okay, got it.
We had a cooler ofnon-alcoholic beverages.
Speaker 11 (15:14):
And some alcoholic
beverages.
Speaker 7 (15:15):
Not for me, not for
you.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
I can see Mark having
a mobile essential oil diffuser
in the car.
Speaker 6 (15:22):
I can't sleep without
this.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
So I mean new album.
That's really exciting stuff.
What was your favorite partabout the new tour and promoting
the new EP?
Speaker 7 (15:30):
Me being on the EP,
yeah, so.
Speaker 11 (15:32):
I mean, this was the
first Linters release, that
like, because we only had theone album that was out before
that.
I had recorded that all as anEd Allison project.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
That's correct, so I
did everything on that.
Speaker 11 (15:41):
So the fact that we
were actually able to
collaboratively write and allrecord our own parts for this,
that was a cool experience.
Speaker 7 (15:47):
You can tell it's me
on the drums and not him.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Would you say there's
any noticeable differences, or
anything like that between thelast album?
Speaker 11 (15:55):
and this one, yeah.
So I think the I mean just thefact that we're actually working
with the same guy that recordedthe first album but I mean mean
he keeps getting better andbetter, so the sound is better
and better.
I mean, obviously mark has gothis own style with jonathan
sambrick yeah, yeah, yeah, john, shout out normal, um, uh, I,
you know the the songs are, youknow, maybe maybe a little bit
(16:16):
different.
You know, I I would, on thefirst album I had wrote, written
those songs over the course of,like you know, two or three
years, whereas this time aroundwas like I wrote all those songs
after that album came out.
Speaker 7 (16:25):
Yeah, the songs are
still catchy, just with a little
bit more technical parts, especially on the drumming.
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 11 (16:33):
Definitely the
drumming.
I have certain like edisms Ilike to call them on the drums
where I'll do the same fill alot and Mark definitely.
That's all gone.
Speaker 7 (16:42):
Well, but I mean it's
cool to have a new tech nap.
I kept it in one song and it'sParasite, yeah, Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
So would you say
that's like an exciting new
angle for you guys movingforward with the band?
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 11 (16:50):
It's cool to just
like do something that's that
collaborative, because I'd neverdone that before.
Yeah well, we wrote Criminal, the lead single off that EP.
Essentially like in a roomtogether, I had brought a
skeleton out of the song but we,essentially over one practice
session, had fleshed out allthese different parts and done
all these different parts.
The trading, back and forth, guitar solo in the bridge, that
(17:11):
all happened in the moment.
It was very cool.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
That's awesome.
I do want to put on the recordthat when I was drumming, ed
just stared at me and just goesMark, this is just.
Can you just record please?
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Now also actually
something worth noting you guys
put out a cover.
Speaker 11 (17:26):
Yeah, yeah yeah, you
did, of Never Gonna Give you Up
.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
That was amazing.
That blew my socks off.
Speaker 11 (17:33):
We haven't gotten
sued yet, so I think we're in
the clear.
We'll do a collab, just not goto court.
Yeah, rick, call us man, we'llhouse you here in.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Pennsylvania.
We'll have a good time.
So you're all around, pa, what?
Speaker 11 (17:48):
brought that.
I mean, I had actually beenplaying some version of that
song For a long, long time.
When I was in college Irecorded a SoundCloud version of
that song.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
I just love it.
Speaker 11 (18:01):
I think it's
unironically a very good song.
When everyone was sharing itfor the memes and Rickrolling
people, I was always like I haveno problem with this, think
it's unironically a very goodsong.
And when everyone was sharingit for the memes and like
rickrolling people, I was alwayslike I have no problem with
this because it's a great song.
If you send me this song tolisten to, it's like great.
Now I'm just listening to agood song, oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Same thing with like
Careless Whisper by George.
Speaker 11 (18:15):
Michaels.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Yeah, yeah,
absolutely love that song.
Speaker 11 (18:26):
Oh, that's right.
Yeah, I forgot about that, Iwould like to hear that George
Michael song.
Yeah, careless, whisperer.
Yeah, I think Cedar already didthe like the premiere rock
version of that song.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
So which is great Is
this going to potentially be
like I would?
Speaker 7 (18:41):
like to.
Speaker 11 (18:42):
Yeah, I've been in
cover bands I mean long before I
was doing this for a long time.
And you know, I just I likedoing that, I like kind of
rocking up versions of differentsongs.
Speaker 7 (18:51):
Metallica did that on
all their stuff.
Speaker 11 (18:53):
Yeah, the first, the
first, like pop goes punk album
that I ever heard.
I was like this is amazing.
Why doesn't everyone do thisall the time?
Speaker 7 (19:00):
Yeah, it was.
It was an error or a phase inmusic, but it was really fun.
My favorite one was probablyIce Nine Kills doing Animals by
Maroon 5.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
That's a good one
yeah and it was really heavy.
Speaker 7 (19:13):
I thought it was
their own song and then I
realized, oh yeah, this isMaroon 5.
I don't know, it was just acool twist on things.
Speaker 11 (19:19):
I think a Static
Lullabies version of Toxic by
Britney Spears Silverstein doingRunaway that one was really
good, lives Lost, let Me DownSlowly.
Yeah, yeah, lives Lost.
We're bringing it back.
We're bringing back Pop GoesPunk this year here in PA.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
I love it.
I love it.
Speaker 11 (19:35):
Now also coming up.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
You have another tour
coming up too, right.
Speaker 11 (19:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So this time around Back inMarch, we kind of went south
area, and now this time we'regoing out west.
Speaker 7 (19:47):
And we're going to
live in a 2019 Chevy Equinox
again.
Speaker 11 (19:50):
Yeah, we're going
all the way out to Denver for
one of those dates, wow andhooking up with some friends
there.
Which spoiler alert we might bereleasing a song with one of
the bands that we're playing outthere, but more on that to come
.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
We're sitting here
with the inside teats right now.
That's amazing.
Thank you for sharing that.
Guys, thank you so much foryour time and coming on.
It's always a pleasure seeingyou.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Anything else I'm
missing.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
You guys want to
shout out or anything like that?
I like hot sauce.
I was going to say you got anynew hot sauces you're liking
right now.
I'm a big Melinda's guy.
Speaker 7 (20:20):
Yeah, I really love
Melinda's dude.
That song is bomb.
Speaker 11 (20:23):
You know what Shout
out?
There's a guy who's makingelectronic music.
His name is Mansion.
It's like M-A-N-S-H-N.
He just put out an electronicdance version of Savior by Rise
Against.
Okay, and it rules, check itout.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Okay, I'm definitely
going to check that out.
I actually just went on a.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Rise.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Against kick.
The other day on a Rise Againstkick the other day.
Speaker 7 (20:43):
Yeah, I just
discovered.
Speaker 11 (20:45):
Kim Dracula.
Speaker 7 (20:45):
Yeah, I just
discovered that that was pretty
cool.
Speaker 11 (20:48):
Good version of pop.
Speaker 7 (20:49):
It's a variety of
everything.
Speaker 11 (20:51):
Yeah, they have a
good version of seven genres.
It's like paparazzi by LadyGaga, okay.
Okay, you've probably heard iton TikTok.
It was big on TikTok for aminute.
All right, I'll check it out.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
Yeah, guys, all right
, we're sitting here with AJ and
Tyler of the band Karma Guys.
Thank you so much for your timecoming on the show.
Of course, thank you forletting us be here, of course,
of course.
So got a new single coming out.
When is this coming out?
It's coming out this Friday.
(21:27):
What is that?
June 7th?
June 7th, yes, sir.
Okay, hopefully this is outbefore then.
Okay.
Speaker 9 (21:30):
Now you guys already
have another song out Brand new
band, correct?
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Yes, brand new.
All right, and what's the nameof your other song you have out?
Speaker 10 (21:35):
It's called Silence.
It's on YouTube right now at50,000 views.
I think we're something likealmost 10,000 streams.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
I got the view count.
Like we just said, brand newband.
That's awesome, really excitedfor you guys.
What are your plans for thefuture?
Speaker 10 (21:53):
coming up here now,
Hopefully around September we
start booking shows and playingout.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
We've got some
students in between there
Playing, demoing this guy,jackson Singers.
They've got plenty of demosthey do.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
We've got a lot in
the tanks.
We've got a lot coming Workingon an EP or full length.
We're going to start with an EP.
Good, good, good.
Working on an EP or full length.
We're going to start with an EP.
Speaker 10 (22:10):
Okay, yep, gotcha
Start with an EP and go the
singles route for a while.
Probably Okay Sounds good Now.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
you guys have been in
multiple projects before this.
What would you say, is the mostexciting thing about the new
band that you're in now.
Speaker 10 (22:22):
Oh man, Tyler, take
it away.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
I would say, probably
, as cliche as it sounds, it's
the, the breath of fresh airthat we have.
It's, it's the knowing thatwe're to quote jackson because
he's going to use this and I'mstealing it from him.
But uh, there's a quote fromthe original guitar player, from
breaking benjamin, that aftertheir first rehearsal he walked
away going it's, it's that easyand that's that's how it felt
the first writing session we had.
We walked away going like, wow, that's, this is just really
nice feeling.
So it's a brush with fresh air.
Everyone's got some input withit, everyone's got to say stuff.
(22:52):
It's just nice when it's a hugecollaborative effort and that's
.
I can't say we really have hadthat before with our other
projects.
Speaker 10 (23:00):
No, we haven't.
It's really cool because everysingle member contributes.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
That's awesome, and I
will say too, watching AJ gain
confidence is amazing too.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
From where he was
many years ago in our first band
together to where he is nowit's it's awesome to see him wow
so you guys have historytogether how long you guys been
playing music together.
Speaker 10 (23:20):
Oh what 10 years at
least, yeah nine or ten?
Speaker 5 (23:21):
what year did you
join trigger?
Speaker 10 (23:23):
I was 21 and I'm 29
now.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
So eight years, all
right sounds about right, we're
around the time, coming up on 10years.
Man, time flies, yeah everyband.
Speaker 10 (23:32):
Since she pulled the
trigger, we've been together so
, man, that's crazy yeah, thetime came to form this one and
we got.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
We got together and
just never looked back.
It wasn't a plan b.
I had no other guitar player Iwanted to be with, so that's
amazing man I'd love to hearthat.
Speaker 10 (23:44):
Didn't want any
other bass player either, so
that's great you guys have that, that chemistry together
absolutely.
Where are you guys based out of?
Technically like centralPennsylvania.
Let's just call it centralPennsylvania because we're kind
of all over.
Jack and Mike, they're fromMaryland.
Speaker 12 (24:00):
Tyler's out like
Lancaster area.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
I'm from Carlisle
area Gotcha Okay Coming together
to make great music.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
Kyle's Virginia,
kyle's in Virginia, yeah.
Speaker 10 (24:11):
Oh sorry, Kyle, I
forgot about you.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
So I guess we're from
the tri-state.
That might be the best way toput it, if that's the correct
terminology for that.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
But you two have been
playing music all over central
Pennsylvania for quite some timenow correct yes.
So, being that, this is theCentral Pennsylvania Music
Podcast.
We're the official podcast ofthe Hall of Fame of fame.
Something we talk about a loton our regular show is that
central pennsylvania hassomething like special to it
with the music, and we like toget everybody's interpretation
of it.
What do you guys think is sospecial about central
pennsylvania when it comes toits music and its music scene?
Speaker 10 (24:40):
you know, I think I
didn't.
I didn't realize, like, theimpact of central pennsylvania's
music until the first cpmas.
Okay, and the amount of peoplethat just seemed to come in
droves.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
That was really
impactful to me To kind of
piggyback off that, and notbecause we're on this CPMA
podcast, but I will say this wasnot a kiss butt type of thing.
Speaker 10 (25:05):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
To piggyback off of
that.
I will say I think bringing allthe genres and all that
together under one roof tocelebrate just the fact that we
all make music and we're justhere to have fun and have a good
time, I think that built a lotof camaraderie within the scene.
So you have people like here.
I haven't stopped talking sinceI've been here at 1245 because
I just know everyone that's hereright now, yeah.
Speaker 10 (25:33):
So it's like you get
these friendships and you get
people that are doing projectstogether and just playing shows.
You got lindhurst, and dinos inparis have been playing shows
how many shows together.
They're like best friends.
You can't separate them andlives lost together, forever
observed and observed for 93rd.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
Yeah, so just knowing
?
No, I think it's just thefriendship that we have, it's
just, it's the support thateveryone has with each other.
It doesn't matter genre, it'sjust you're playing music and
we're here to do it yeah, everybody has a mutual respect
for one another.
Speaker 10 (25:49):
Yes, yep.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
And absolutely love
that.
Guys, thank you so much foryour time and coming on the show
.
Speaker 10 (25:54):
Thanks for having us
.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Am I missing anything
that you guys want to shout out
, or any any producers you'reworking out?
You want to say oh, you want todo it, I got it.
Speaker 10 (26:01):
You got AJ Carson
and granted atrium audio.
Oh, we love Carson Phenomenal.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
I don't think I've
been recording with them since
the band we were in.
Speaker 10 (26:10):
I don't think I've
gone anywhere else.
I have not been to anotherproducer in the past eight years
.
Wow, okay.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
There's a reason why
they're the best around, and
they've won how many awards forbest recording studio.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Two?
I think yeah, two, maybe three.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
Yeah, there's a
reason why it's there.
They are phenomenal and theymake everybody better.
Speaker 10 (26:25):
Yeah right man.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
So does the entire
music scene, the bands
themselves, the guys like you.
So thank you so much for whatyou do and thank you guys for
coming on the show.
Appreciate your time.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Thank you, thank you
for uh for chatting, thank you
for everything you do for thescene and, uh, I'm excited to
hear the rest of the interviewswith the rest of the scene.
Thanks so much thank you.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
All right, we're
sitting here with the nick tower
band all the way from potstown, pennsylvania, still here in
central Guys.
Thank you so much for your timeand coming on the show.
Yeah man, thanks for having us,you guys want to go around and
introduce yourselves, Maybe whatyou do for the band and whatnot
.
Yeah, so I am Nick from theNick Tower Band and pretty much
all I do is tune guitars andwrap up cables and no no,
(27:05):
actually actually what I do is Iam.
I'm the singer and one of theguitar players.
Speaker 8 (27:11):
Okay, my name is
Chuck and I play the bass.
All right, because he told menot to curse.
Speaker 6 (27:23):
My name is Brody, I
play guitar and I look at Chuck
all night long when we're onstage.
Speaker 8 (27:27):
Yeah, it's true.
Speaker 6 (27:29):
It is.
That's half the show.
Speaker 13 (27:31):
I'm Lee, I attempt
to play drums and sing some of
the times, and I also am morenotorious for making multiple
trips to and fro my car, loadingall my crap in all night.
Typical drummer behavior rightBlessing and a curse, oh yeah
For sure.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
So you guys have a
lot of exciting things coming up
this summer.
You said you have a bunch ofshows coming up here soon.
Right yeah, we have a ton ofshows coming up.
Well, I mean a ton.
I guess it's not really a ton,but we're playing every two
weeks.
We kind of take that week offin between.
So every two weeks pretty muchnow until the end of the year.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
But I'm getting
married this year.
Dude, oh dude.
Congrats man.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
Thanks man Thanks.
Oh dude, congrats man Thanksman Thanks.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
So August is kind of
like off the books for the Nick
Tower Band kind of except forthat show right there.
Speaker 13 (28:17):
Oh, yeah, so big
announcement.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
They're going to be
playing at the Cole Region Music
Fest for veterans.
It is, and I'm trying to readand show it to everyone at the
same time Saturday, august 24th,at 10 am to 10 pm 12 hours of
music, live bands You're goingto see the Nick Tower Band there
and many, many more.
Speaker 8 (28:35):
And all of the
proceeds are going to the
Pennsylvania Wounded WarriorsAssociation.
So it's a great cause and we'revery lucky to be taking the
main stage on that night.
Man, that's awesome.
Yeah, we're ending the night.
Oh, you guys are headlining, weare headlining.
Speaker 10 (28:50):
Yes sir.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
It's actually a week
after the wedding.
Oh, wow, and that's the onlyshow we're playing that month,
so I mean it's a big deal.
Speaker 7 (28:56):
So you're coming
right back from the honeymoon
and headlining the show.
Speaker 8 (28:58):
Yeah, yeah, my fiance
is really excited about it.
What do you mean?
That is the honeymoon.
That's the honeymoon.
Chipped in and got them a newtent oh no they call it glamping
now.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
So yeah yeah,
clamping for the honeymoon so
you guys just dropped a newsingle, recently too.
I heard, right, yeah, love methe same, love me the same, love
me the same as the last.
Uh was the last single we justreleased, um, and it's more
along the lines of so those ofyou who haven't heard nick tower
band, we are um.
So those of you who haven'theard Nick Tower Band, we're
edgy country.
(29:32):
We're more like rock and roll-ycountry.
Speaker 8 (29:36):
We're that cold dirt
country.
We're that cold dirt country, dirtier, heavier Like new age
outlaw country.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Okay, but.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Love Me.
The Same is actually more alongthe lines of more traditional.
Okay, it's more traditional forus.
It was actually the first songthat I finished when my fiance
and I started talking again.
Okay, um, so it has a specialplace in my heart specifically,
absolutely, but it is absolutelymore country than a lot of our
(30:03):
other stuff.
Um, some of our other stuff, you know, is more on the rocky
side, you know, it's, it's,it's's a new age outlaw country.
I've actually said that, exactly like you said multiple
times, because we tend to saycountry with balls, okay.
Speaker 8 (30:22):
Is that allowed?
Yeah, absolutely, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
In today's day and
age it's kind of hard to come by
.
You have Lakeview, brentley,gilbert, hardy.
Hardy's new stuff is a littlebit more heavier than what we
have going on, but in my eyesthose guys are the pioneers for
the new age outlaw country.
Okay, because they're kind ofcutting corners between rock and
(30:48):
country music, and that's whatwe've been doing for the past.
You know, 10 years you guysbeen around 10 years now.
Well, I've I've actually wrotehalf most of these songs when I
was still in high school, wow, okay.
So as a band, totally, we'vebeen together for like three
okay, but some of these songsare 10.
Speaker 8 (31:06):
You know 10 13 years
old, something like that wow,
lee, you've been.
You've been around five years.
I think I came along the scene.
I've been in the band fouryears now.
Yeah, I think I came aroundlate 2019,.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
I think even before
we had a bass player.
My first show was supposed tobe during the pandemic.
Oh my goodness, that was twoyears ago, bro.
And then, all of a sudden, wewere starting to write a bunch
of stuff.
Speaker 13 (31:27):
All right, and we
were starting to write a bunch
of stuff and all of a suddenwe're like, hey, we need to rock
it up and get a bass player.
Okay, hence Chuck came into thescene early 2020, I think.
Speaker 8 (31:35):
Yeah, yeah, March
2020.
Supposed to be my first show,so I'll never forget.
Pandemic shut it down and weended up playing a house party.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 10 (31:44):
Okay, yeah, dude, it
was actually sick.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
That is outlaw
country right there.
Yo, it was sick.
That's awesome Shout out to.
Casey yeah, dude, that was sick.
So my timeline is all assbackwards, dude.
Covid throws it so far offbecause we started our first
podcast before COVID in 2019.
And it's just like it's so hardto think, it's like wait, was
that before COVID?
Was it after COVID?
Because, especially because, like whenever we were doing our
old podcast which not to get toofar off the topic like that was
right when we started.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
So it's really hard
to keep things straight.
I totally get that.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
So the band's been
around about four years now.
Speaker 12 (32:19):
Something like that.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Approximating.
So how many albums do you guyshave out now?
We don't have any physicalalbums.
We've just been releasingsingles, singles Okay, releasing
singles, singles, okay.
Yeah, just been releasingsingles because it's hard.
It's hard now, like this dayand age, um, you know, you can
release an album, but I feellike you gain more traction
releasing singles.
(32:41):
Absolutely so.
Speaker 8 (32:44):
We've just we've just
been pumping out singles that
way you get the best of the bestevery time you uh go on to
check us out on Spotify.
All killer, no filler.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
That's great.
I like that actually.
Look, let's be honest, evensome of my favorite bands not
all their albums are playthroughalbums and it's just like you
want to stay true to yourselfand continue to write those
great songs the bangers.
You know you don't want to justthrow another song in there
because you're like man, thisalbum needs like one or two more
.
So I like needs like one or twomore.
(33:13):
Right, I like that.
All killer, no filler.
I love that.
Speaker 13 (33:15):
That's that's
awesome.
So, and I mean, it is expensive, oh my god.
Per song you're talking cheaper, you're talking a thousand plus
per song.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
So I mean, it's not.
It's like.
You know, do we, do we cut analbum?
We have two 300 songs yeahoriginals.
But you know, do we cut analbum for one or two songs to be
that song or just, or do wekeep releasing singles?
Speaker 8 (33:36):
that's why uh, best
way to experience the nick tower
band right now is to come outto see us at a show, because
what we do on stage it's goingto sound better than anyone.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Uh, any recording
that's awesome, that energy,
absolutely.
Speaker 8 (33:49):
That's what makes us,
uh, who we are yeah, for sure
that's great.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
So being in the music
, so being in the band's been
around Sorry, I'm fumbling withmy words.
It's been about four years now.
What would you guys say aresome of the greatest experiences
that you've had in the CentralPennsylvania music community
over this time?
Well, I don't know what anybodyelse is going to say, so I kind
of feel like most of us are onthe same page.
Speaker 8 (34:16):
So I kind of want to.
You can do it.
Speaker 13 (34:21):
We're all getting
Rick Rolls in the side room.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
I'm just going to
call this one out and then the
other guys will be able to pickup, because thankfully, most of
us are on the same page.
In our hometown they had acolossal concert I mean colossal
and uh, they had a national act.
Um, national act come into townand um, we played in front of
(34:48):
like 17,000 plus people.
Wow, in our hometown, dude, that's huge.
We drove like six minutes toget to the stage and I was like
this is sick.
Speaker 8 (34:58):
They set up the main
stage right in the Dollar
General parking lot.
Man, yeah, dude, I love it,it's the giant parking lot,
right, but yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
So we were fortunate
enough to play in front of like
15,000, 17,000 plus people fiveminutes from home, and I
honestly feel like you know thebuzz you hear after a show.
I can't speak for everybody, but the consensus of after the
(35:27):
show talking to people I meanpeople were like flabbergasted,
really Like people werelikeabbergasted, really Like
people were like I don't want tocome next year unless you guys
are on this stage again.
That's amazing man.
I was certainly blown away.
Speaker 6 (35:38):
That's got to be an
irreplaceable feeling.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
It was absolutely
irreplaceable and it also felt
awkward because I try to be themost humble person as I possibly
can.
I don't even like that the nameis Nick Tower Band, because I
am nothing without all theseguys that are sitting here right
now.
And for people to come up andsay this kind of stuff to us and
to just play in front of acrowd that big with original
(36:04):
music dude, it was just.
It was just, it was.
You know, words can't reallydescribe it.
Speaker 6 (36:11):
That's awesome man,
I'm so glad you guys got to have
that experience in yourhometown.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
That's the thing with
Central Pennsylvania man we're
taking off, we're getting outthere on the map, like you said
in your hometown man, sixminutes from your house and you
get to play in front of 15,000to 17,000 people.
That's amazing.
Speaker 8 (36:24):
I mean that's one
thing that really needs to be
said about IROC Radio and thisevent that they're doing.
All credit to Jay man, becausethat guy does more for the scene
, this guy does more for thescene in central Pennsylvania
than anyone I ever met, and heput together a showcase today
here at Love Drafts that has allof the best up-and-coming
talent coming out of centralPennsylvania.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Absolutely.
We were talking to him earlierand he was just talking about
the absolute passion that he hasfor this man and that is
something huge, I think.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Central PA has is
just we have a true passion for
music out here and we get toreally show it off to everyone
For sure, man For sure.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
So I guess probably
my big takeaway since I started
this little journey going to theCPMAs, we got twice nominated.
You guys again doing greatthings to put a spotlight on
this local community ofmusicians and you see the talent
coming up there across theboard, across genres Rock,
(37:26):
country, rap, bluegrass, folkeverything.
And you see an amazing wealthof talent in every genre, in
every sphere.
You know, and it's honestly,it's something to really like.
When you see it, it's somethingtruly to behold, it's amazing.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
That's a great way to
put it.
I love that.
I love that.
What would you guys say is yourfavorite parts or biggest
takeaways from the?
Speaker 9 (37:49):
last four years,
three years, you want me to go
first you.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
What would you guys
say is your favorite parts or
biggest takeaways?
Speaker 13 (37:52):
in the last four
years, three years for you.
I guess you want me to go first.
You want to go first?
Go for it, bro.
All right, okay, that's all youhave.
No, honestly, I've been playingdrums since I've been about
maybe 15, 16, something likethat doing talent shows in high
school and you get in front ofjust an audience.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
It don just like an
automatic drug.
Speaker 13 (38:09):
I was like, dude,
this is what I would love to do.
This and I think the I don'twant to say culminating event,
but the highlight so far for mepersonally would be definitely
playing at Yingling Fest acouple years ago.
On that stage, with the amountof people and just the way you
treat you and the work you do,the production, setting up,
tearing it all out, the wholething was just mind-blowing and
I was like at like, just aeuphoria of like this is what I
(38:31):
need to be, but also beingnominated for cpas or cpmas
twice yeah, for you know, bestcountry band, all kind of stuff,
and just putting the work andhanging out with these dudes and
uh, don't matter if we play thesmallest venue that could fit
10 people or like huge outdoorones, it's always an incredible
experience and, uh, I've reallyhonestly enjoyed it all.
I just I don't want it to end.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Honestly, that's
awesome.
I love that man.
You guys sound truly passionateabout what you're doing dude,
it's, yeah, it's incrediblebrody, you're quiet down there,
man, let's hear what you gottasay.
Speaker 8 (39:01):
I'm curious to hear
what brody gotta say.
The most handsome man in theband.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
I mean I try freaking
stud I uh I mean honestly, I've
been in the band, you know, just a little over a year now,
and I mean every show that weplay or every experience,
whether it's a practice or justhanging out with these guys.
It's just been a blessing.
I've been playing guitar sincesecond grade, played drums in
fifth grade and, you know, eversince then.
So to be able to do this youknow, as right now it's like a
(39:25):
hobby and hopefully, you know,as a living at some point.
It's just been the greatestopportunity to meet awesome
people like you guys, like theband and all the other awesome
bands here.
It's just been a blessing thewhole time.
So every day is awesome withthese guys Love you brother.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
That's awesome man.
We love to hear that.
Speaker 8 (39:41):
Now I was going to
say that the highlight.
We played this show inBloomsburg and there was this
beautiful blonde chick in atight blue dress.
Her name was Amanda and I'mgoing to say I don't know what
her name was.
I'm just going to say she mighthave been the highlight of my
musical career.
Just watching her get down andshake her thing to our music was
(40:01):
just about the best thing I'veever seen.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
You're still trying
to find her to this day, aren't
you?
Speaker 8 (40:05):
Oh, god, bless her,
wherever you are, my amor, mi
corazon wherever you are, I loveyou oh man.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
She got him speaking
Italian, though, man.
Speaker 8 (40:17):
I think I don't know.
God bless her, god blessAmerica.
Put that and the music and herparents right.
Speaker 9 (40:23):
And her parents.
Speaker 8 (40:25):
It has something to
do with that.
God bless her parents too.
Man God bless my fiance.
Where were we?
Speaker 1 (40:34):
man, god bless my
fiance.
Where were we?
I don't remember, but I gotlost in that story just talking
about it.
So, man, well, guys, thank youso much.
Am I missing anything that youguys have coming up that you
wanted to announce or anythinglike that?
Uh, man, I don't even know.
Speaker 8 (40:43):
We have uh.
We are in the works of actuallygetting a uh, a proper tour to
get uh out of the schuylkillcounty area.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Okay, yeah with uh
with the Jeremy Edge Project.
Speaker 8 (40:52):
So the first show
with that that's in the books
locked in June 29th at Stryker'sPub in Pottsville.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (40:58):
It's a cozy little
bar.
We've played there before.
I spend a lot of time there, ifyou can't tell.
Speaker 7 (41:03):
All right.
Speaker 8 (41:05):
And after that our
goal for the year is to branch
out, play in new markets, newcities and play our unique brand
of cold, dirt down country withballs kind of music in front of
as many new people as we can.
That's our goal for the year.
Yeah, I love that.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
It's going to be
pretty cool If anybody follows
us on Facebook or Instagram.
Nick T-A-U-E-R.
We just posted up pretty muchour summer tour dates, but I
mean, if you want to call it atour, but it's a good list of
dates and in the fall right now,as Chuck said, we're working on
(41:46):
a fall of 2024 actual tour, fall of 2024 actual tour and
spring slash, winter of 2025tour of the Jeremy edge project.
Okay, and that's in, like we're.
Yeah, that's in the works, butit'll be like everywhere, like
out of state shows and all.
Speaker 8 (42:06):
We're just waiting
for the ink to dry.
We're going to have to dry?
Speaker 13 (42:08):
Yeah, for sure, I
got a cool, I got a cool date,
so America's birthday July 4th Ithink it's a Thursday this
coming year.
We're going to be opening upthe Summer Deck Party Festivals
at Penn's Peak.
If any of you guys are familiarwith that Neck, of the Woods
that's in.
Carbon County.
In Jim Thorpe Awesome venuethey get all kinds of cool acts
all throughout the year and allkinds of stuff Very awesome.
We got the honor and privilegeto hang out on deck in the
(42:30):
summer and then, kind of, youknow, celebrate America's
birthday and rock out for acouple hours.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Awesome, yeah, which
we are really stoked for that,
because Penn's peak in that arealike gets the biggest bands.
Okay, like Penn's peak is thevenue to be in that area, okay.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
Like it's a big stage
.
I mean you're talking on themap like the world map.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
Yeah, it's a big
stage.
I mean you're talking it's onthe map, like the world map.
For sure it's one of thecoolest venues I've been to and
then afterwards.
Speaker 8 (42:54):
the nice thing is Lee
over here.
He lives in Nescahoneg, not toofar from there, so we're all
going to crash at his place andorder a pizza.
Or a little sleepover, that'swhen we do our best writing baby
.
Speaker 13 (43:06):
Freaking living room
camping session.
Speaker 8 (43:07):
And order McDonald's
to Black Velvet and they still
don't get the order right.
Speaker 13 (43:13):
No, they don't Shout
out McDonald's, so funny
backstory of the Nick Tower Band.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
We all had like a
writing session, like jam
session, and we stayed over atLee's house and we all wanted
McGriddles dude.
Speaker 13 (43:25):
McGriddles are the
bomb.
You like McGriddles?
Speaker 8 (43:27):
I love.
Speaker 13 (43:27):
McGriddles Right
dude, they're the best.
Speaker 8 (43:29):
I didn't want no
McGriddle, I wanted a Big Mac.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
So Six in the morning
I need like a bacon, egg and
cheese McBagel once in a while.
They're pretty good.
Speaker 5 (43:36):
Undefeated.
Those are awesome.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
So I took Chuck's
bass and I played Black Velvet
and I called McDonald's and Iplayed Black Velvet while
ordering McDonald's and I kindof like sung it like I want 40
nuggets creamy southwestdressing, you know you know what
(43:59):
I mean and they're like, didthis just happen?
I'm like, yeah, man, it justhappened.
But we were kind of.
We were kind of upset becausewe couldn't get mcriddles oh,
and that's why the order waswrong yeah, that's why the order
was wrong.
That's why the order was wrong, yeah, but you know what?
Everybody that worked atMcDonald's that day probably had
the best day they ever had.
Speaker 8 (44:15):
Damn right.
Speaker 1 (44:17):
It's just constantly
just spreading happiness to the
entire world.
Speaker 8 (44:19):
Yeah, man, I love
that For sure.
Speaker 6 (44:21):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (44:21):
Yeah, oh, man Guys,
thank you so much for your time
coming on Seriously it's so good.
Dude, thank nice, so fun totalk to you.
Thanks, man.
Seriously, this we're gonnahave to talk again.
Get you guys to the studio oneof these days for another
full-length interview.
Speaker 8 (44:33):
We're looking forward
to it.
Man, that'd be awesome.
And, uh, you guys keep up.
Keep up the great work.
You know we got a lot of, ofcourse, dude you know we're just
here to help promote everyone.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
We want to get
pennsylvania on the map as big
as possible so that way, youknow, we can promote all the
awesome musicians that we havehere guys like you.
Speaker 15 (44:50):
You know, Absolutely
.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
It's a pretty big
state, though Do you ever drive
across it?
It's pretty big.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
I mean I've been
through most of Central like
from like, chambersburg to StateCollege or to.
Speaker 15 (44:58):
Scranton, but you
know.
Speaker 8 (45:03):
I haven't been out
west too much.
Never been to Pittsburgh, dude,I'm a Philly.
Speaker 13 (45:08):
Go birds.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Yeah, go birds, no
birds.
Go Philz J-E-T-S.
Oh, come on.
Speaker 8 (45:16):
Yeah, that's right.
Bring on the hate All right man.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Thanks for having us
Guys.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 8 (45:22):
Hey, thank you for
having us.
Speaker 13 (45:23):
Yeah, thank you for
having us man.
That was awesome.
It was great guys.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
What's going on?
Everyone?
We're sitting here with theguys from Pine Creek Academy.
Thank you so much for coming on.
You guys were on the acousticstage earlier today, correct?
Yep, that's correct.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Awesome, and you guys
are from where?
Again, I'm sorry, we're kind offrom all over the place.
We say Allentown, Like that'swhere we rep, but I'm from
Tamaqua, which is close to likeHazleton Pottsville area.
Speaker 14 (45:47):
Yep area.
Yep kyle and I are from redden.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
We get the pleasure
of driving really far, so we
meet in the middle nice man.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
That's awesome.
So uh exciting news.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
You guys just dropped
a full I'm sorry, an ep just
yesterday, correct, yep yeah, weuh flying saucers the name of
it and uh, just yesterday wedropped it.
It's got six songs on it, someof which we already released
that singles, and then there'sthree new ones on there to check
out as well.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Great, that's awesome
.
So what kind of music are youguys playing?
Speaker 4 (46:13):
It's pop, punk, alt
rock.
It's got elements fromeverything.
There's some pop elements inthere, we throw a breakdown or
two in there, so it's kind oflike a big blend of different
genres, okay.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
Okay, gotcha.
So the band's been around, foryou guys were saying earlier
about like a year now.
Speaker 14 (46:29):
So just over a year
just over a year.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
That's awesome, you
guys.
So you got your new, your firstep out.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
You said you got a
tour coming up right uh, yeah,
so in the beginning of augustwe're going to do a tour out
towards chicago, so that's goingto be our first mini run as a
band, so very excited about that.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
That's great that's
awesome, and you guys have been
in bands previous to this, sothis is nothing new to you guys,
but it's new with the new band, sure it's super exciting for
you guys.
Speaker 4 (46:54):
It's just like it's a
.
It's your first time.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
You know, with the
new project it's the same thing
so is this your guys firstproject all together as a band
uh, no, me and nick are actuallyin a band called take the name.
Speaker 4 (47:04):
It's a more of a
heavy metal kind of band.
Okay, so we're still currentlyin that one, and then we play
with other projects as well.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
And then, just to add
to the confusion, drew and I
are in a different band Devil'sAdvocate, based out of Redding,
also heavy metal, kind of on theborder between hard rock and
metal.
Lots of fun.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
That's awesome, man.
I love that.
You guys got your hands in alittle bit of everything there.
Yep man, that's great.
Speaker 4 (47:33):
So I mean there's a
lot of people that come out to
shows and support and it's niceto see.
Speaker 14 (47:38):
Yeah, like even with
this new project, we've made
friends with so many local bandsso fast, like just us getting
on bills with them or askingthem to play shows with us, and
everybody's just superinteractive and just likes to
support each other.
So that's really cool, that'sgreat.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
And just by nature,
everybody's always so supportive
and immediately recognizes eachother on the first go.
So it's great.
You get to meet a lot of newpeople and make a lot of friends
really easily.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
Yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 4 (48:01):
Yeah, with other
projects we have toured around
the country and this areaspecifically just has really
good fans, really good peoplethat come out and support it's
cool man.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
I feel like I'm
always beating a dead horse
saying this, because we talkabout it on our show all the
time.
Central PA really just hassomething special here.
Don't know what it is, if it'sin the water or something.
Speaker 7 (48:22):
If it is great, Keep
drinking it.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
We have awesome
venues, awesome support.
Of course, the Hall of of famegot to give them a shout out.
Um, you know.
And then just bands, you know, there's no, it's, it's like it's
not cutthroat here either, likeeverybody's, not at all
everybody's happy to supporteach other man and it's like I,
you love to see it because it'sjust one big happy family man
yep so so what would you guyssay is like one of the coolest
or most exciting things for youand this new project together?
Speaker 14 (48:47):
uh, you know, being
that you guys have all been in
different ones, in other bands-um, kind of just filling um our
need to want to play like adifferent genre of music, other
than really heavy stuff we kindof uh, I was curious about that
because both say we're likemetal, yeah, we both had a love
for like pop, punk and indiekind of music and, um, we met
through take the name, throughour other band, and then we kind
of just realized we both likethis genre.
(49:08):
So we said maybe we should makea side project.
And now here we are, a yearlater, two eps out and I don't
know like eight or nine songscoming.
Speaker 4 (49:16):
So yeah, we have a
lot in the bank.
We got demos for days, but um,you know the way social media is
nowadays, you got to paceyourself.
One single wait, eight, tenweeks, next single yep, but uh,
it's it's fun, we got the song,so it's great.
Do you have plans, plans for afull length down the road?
We do have the material for it.
It's just like a single world.
(49:37):
Now it's just more costeffective to just push one
single, because with Spotify ifyou drop an album, say it's like
12 songs, you do a single ortwo and then everything else
just gets buried.
I wish it was like the old dayswhere you can amp up an album
and you know, really push that.
But right now it's a singlesgame yeah, that's what we're
(49:59):
doing.
Speaker 1 (49:59):
Hey, man, you gotta
make everything in bite-sized
pieces for everyone exactly,it's the name of the game
anymore.
So, yeah, that's great man.
Well, guys, thank you so muchfor your time and coming on here
.
I'm excited to check out yourmusic.
Um, is there anything else thatI'm missing?
You guys said you have an emonight coming up.
Speaker 4 (50:13):
It wasn't confirmed
yet, but we are slated for June
28th at the Woodlands for theemo night, so that'll be a great
time.
Speaker 1 (50:19):
Awesome man, any
other big shows coming up that
you guys want to plug, oranything?
Any studios you're working withyou got anything.
Speaker 14 (50:26):
We don't have
anything else other than those
two things.
Speaker 4 (50:28):
Yeah, we just got
those things riding right now.
I mean, we're always writing, but the writing process is just
like with a couple.
We got like a little small crewthat we work with, not like a
specific studio or anything likethat.
I got you Just some men behindlaptops.
That's the way it is these days.
Speaker 1 (50:45):
It's all you need
anymore.
Yeah, exactly that's what it is.
I mean, how many people havejust recorded a full-length
album from their bedroom andit's gone platinum?
Just with technology these days, it's crazy.
Speaker 4 (50:56):
I do love the vibe of
the old school studios.
It's fucking great.
I've done that, Sorry.
I don't know if I'm allowed tocurse or not?
No, I've done the whole studiothing, but just the way
technology is.
You just need your MacBook.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
Exactly, man.
So that's what we've been doing.
Totally get that.
Well, guys, thank you so muchfor your time.
I seriously appreciate it.
Speaker 14 (51:12):
Thank you, dude.
Speaker 11 (51:12):
Thanks for having us
.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
We'll have to link up
again another one of these days
and talk a little bit more.
Sounds good.
Thank you, Guys.
Thank you so much.
Thank you very much.
We're at JB Love Drafts.
You already know that we'resitting here with Observe the
93rd, which is Derek and Dylan.
How?
Speaker 9 (51:27):
are you guys doing
tonight Day Sweaty?
How are you Sweaty?
Speaker 14 (51:32):
I'm all right, we'll
be right back Dylan's doing,
all right.
I'm dry, all right.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
I like the shorts.
Speaker 14 (51:36):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (51:37):
Going to catch them
all.
Speaker 9 (51:45):
I'm just get a wish.
Speaker 1 (51:46):
Heck, yeah.
So you guys are going on heresoon playing yes, playing at
JB's.
You guys got a big set comingup 30 minutes of pure sweaty
visceral.
Speaker 9 (52:02):
Finance, finance.
We're actually searching for aman in finance, yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:07):
I mean I do sales,
it's finance adjacent he has to
have a trust fund.
Speaker 9 (52:11):
6-5 with blue eyes
that's not me dog.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
He's gotta have that
app you know what we're gonna
move past this.
So you guys, this year I've sofar put out a music video that
was neat.
I liked it.
Speaker 14 (52:28):
It was really good
we did it was yeah what do we
put on?
Speaker 9 (52:32):
I don't even remember
what was the last.
I don't know.
You guys were in a field.
Speaker 1 (52:36):
There was that oh, go
ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 9 (52:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
like that one a lot that was
with josh nesmith yeah that'sprobably my favorite video we've
done it was good, it was reallygood Thanks, man.
Well, I don't think that was in2024, though I wasn't sure.
I think it was the end of 2023.
Was it?
I thought it was January.
Speaker 14 (52:54):
It's okay.
It might have been, we don'tknow.
I don't know either.
Speaker 1 (53:01):
We've lost track of
time to keep up with you guys.
Thanks man.
Speaker 3 (53:03):
Appreciate you I love
it.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
Last year, even you
guys came out with a very long
album, didn't you?
Speaker 9 (53:09):
13 songs.
Actually you know that's kindof short compared to most bands
now, because everybody makeslike 20 song albums.
Speaker 1 (53:14):
Yeah, morgan Wallen
did like what?
30 or something like that.
Speaker 9 (53:17):
They just want the
streams.
It's like a short album yeah Imean it's above average, so uh
(53:37):
well you know, that's the firsttime I've ever heard that.
Speaker 1 (53:39):
Yeah, so um you know,
what we're talking about, chris
you guys, got any tours comingup this summer?
You guys, you guys, we want totry trying, we really want to.
Speaker 9 (53:52):
All we want to do is
go on tour, man dude it's funny
I keep telling everybody this Ialways thought going into being
in a band, that going on tour, like booking the tour, was
really easy and the tough partwas enduring it, just being out
on the road, not being able toafford anything you're not
eating.
Well, that's not the hard part, that's the easy part is
(54:13):
enduring it it's booking it.
The semantics is what's tough, okay, so no, we don't have a
tour book we really want toliterally anybody take us on
tour.
Camera one one, camera two.
Camera, three Camera three,we'll be right back I mean
sleeping on the floor of a van.
Speaker 14 (54:31):
That was not great.
Speaker 9 (54:32):
Yeah, dylan didn't
like sleeping on the floor,
which I feel like he had to takethat responsibility, because he
was the only one who could fitlike twice.
Yeah, fair, where did you sleepIn the way back?
Speaker 2 (54:44):
with.
Speaker 9 (54:44):
Mark's shoes.
And let me say this, everybodyin the beginning was like.
I don't want to be in the back,I don't want to feel trapped.
I was like bet, I will go inthe back and be in my own little
world.
Speaker 6 (54:54):
And then after not
lying at all, literally the
first day A liar he knows, thisis true.
Speaker 9 (55:03):
Everybody was like
nope, not doing the back.
Speaker 14 (55:06):
Don't want to feel
trapped.
Speaker 9 (55:07):
Loved it, I slept on
Logan's shoulder and it was
amazing Except Mark kept buyingshoes and then putting them back
there with me, and hot sauceand hot sauce.
He bought so much stuff I waslike he might be a guy in
finance with a trust fund.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
He's got the hair for
it.
Speaker 14 (55:21):
Yeah, yeah, you know
, he's got a nose ring now too.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
He does.
Got that on tour.
He must have like a work fromhome finance job, because they
usually don't like that in theoffice.
Speaker 9 (55:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah Well
they're opening up.
Speaker 1 (55:32):
Funny story I had my
nose pierced whenever I first
got into sales and I put in likea clear piercing and they
didn't notice for the first twoweeks and finally my boss
noticed.
He's like what do you mean?
A little bit.
Speaker 9 (55:46):
I was like, yeah,
yeah, it's a partial nose ring.
Yeah, yeah, I kind of have it,dude, let me pierce your nose
yeah, on stage I mean, there'sstill kind of a hole.
Speaker 14 (55:54):
So I mean I'll make
one complete, we'll talk about
this after I feel like you guyscould complete each other yeah
and take each
Speaker 8 (56:03):
other there.
It's a bonding experience it'sdefinitely a bonding experience.
I'm in it.
Speaker 9 (56:06):
And a bondage
experience.
Yeah, depending on the route,we could have a sleepover.
Okay, just to talk about it.
The first night you guys have asleepover pillow fight,
drinking Kool-Aid jammers, justtalk about it.
Speaker 1 (56:18):
Foot through the door
.
Speaker 9 (56:28):
You got me with the
Kool-Aid jammers.
Anyways, I really like dogs andrace cars and stuff.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
And, yeah,
transformers, what was your name
?
Speaker 9 (56:31):
again.
Yeah, you guys have a sleepoverand do the bondage thing, Okay.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
Okay, what were?
Speaker 14 (56:35):
you saying Dylan?
What was your name?
Again Steve oh.
Tell me a little bit aboutyourself.
What are your favorite movies?
What?
Do you like to do with yourfree time Lately.
Speaker 1 (56:46):
Bonsai trees, yeah,
tree bondage, just wiring up
trees, which is pretty neat.
Speaker 9 (56:54):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
Little trees, I don't
know Could be secret agents.
Speaker 9 (56:58):
You put a wire on
them and have them go complete
missions.
Speaker 1 (57:00):
Yep, I gift them to
people and then I just listen in
on their personal conversationsand blackmail them.
So like birds, yeah, but birdsaren't real.
If it flies, it's flies.
Speaker 9 (57:11):
I wasn't going to say
it, but hashtag birds are fake,
yep.
Speaker 1 (57:14):
I went to the gym one
time wearing a birds aren't
real shirt.
Didn't realize that's what Iwas wearing.
Everybody kept staring at me.
I got real self-conscious.
Speaker 9 (57:22):
They might have been
staring at the physique.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
They might have been
staring at the physique.
Speaker 9 (57:27):
They might have been
catching a glimpse of the tricep
or that package.
What you got.
Speaker 14 (57:31):
Huh, are you cut or
uncut?
Cut, you're cut.
Speaker 9 (57:35):
Yeah, how about you?
Uncut gems Derek.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
Man.
Speaker 9 (57:41):
Adam's apple sandler
over there.
No, no, no, are you cut oruncut?
It depends on the day.
I like curly fries.
Speaker 14 (57:50):
Living a mystery for
the people out there.
You can get fresh cut curlyfries shoestring.
Speaker 8 (57:57):
You'll find out the
answer.
Speaker 14 (57:58):
We'll let you know
there.
Speaker 9 (58:01):
Waffle fries.
This is going really well.
Speaker 1 (58:04):
No, it's going great
the music stuff that you guys do
.
I mean sometimes you guys gotany more songs in the works.
We're going to put out anotherEP this year.
Speaker 9 (58:15):
We have like an album
another album practically
recorded.
And then I'm writing the nextone.
Yeah, we don't remember it.
Speaker 12 (58:21):
That's how long ago
we recorded this album and we
don't know he's like hey, youremember these songs and I was
like
Speaker 9 (58:28):
no, you know what the
problem is and we've talked
about this.
That's how long ago we recordedthis album.
Yeah, and we don't know.
He's like, hey, you rememberthese songs and I was like, no,
you know what the problem is andwe've talked about this before.
Is, on a real note, we don'thave enough money to like have
the turnover rate that matchesour output.
Writing wise.
Speaker 7 (58:43):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (58:43):
So it's like we're
always backed up, it's like, all
right, now we can afford torecord this album and then
release it and make physicalcopies and make merch related to
it and do music videos, andthen that whole time we've been
writing and so we have anothertwo albums.
Speaker 1 (58:57):
So it's just like,
literally a nonstop wheel of
just production.
Speaker 9 (59:02):
It's really high
output and really low funds,
gotcha.
Speaker 1 (59:06):
Is this why you're
looking for a 6'5 blue-eyed guy
in finance Full circle?
Speaker 9 (59:11):
Full circle Full
circle.
Speaker 14 (59:13):
Wow, I really
understand.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Yeah, you guys are
seriously like five steps ahead
of the game with everything.
Speaker 9 (59:20):
Except for the
finance part.
Well, yeah, the finance part.
Speaker 1 (59:25):
But you already know
how to.
You got that figured out of howto fix.
It is what I'm saying.
Well, yeah, the finance part, the finance part, but like you
already know how to, you gotthat figured out of how to fix.
It is what I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (59:30):
Oh, I have no clue.
Speaker 1 (59:31):
No, you get the
finance guy.
That's how you fix it.
Speaker 9 (59:33):
True, you know what
Us and that at girl on couch on
TikTok we're both seeking.
Okay Gotcha.
That's where that song comesfrom, don.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
Gotcha, that's where
that song comes from.
Speaker 9 (59:45):
Don't know Real.
Recognizes real.
Yeah, that's why I like fishingrods.
Speaker 14 (59:51):
Hurt people hurt
people.
Speaker 1 (59:52):
That was good?
No, it wasn't.
Speaker 9 (59:54):
That's the dumbest
thing I've ever said.
That was good.
That's the dumbest thing I'veactually ever said.
Speaker 1 (59:59):
I don't think so.
Speaker 9 (01:00:04):
We're making a joke
that Chris the producer the
producer is just listening tospongebob music in the
background, not paying attention.
The thing with the joke about.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
That is like it's.
It's very possible he couldactually be doing that.
Chris is a big spongebob fan.
I never noticed it everyoneshould be a couple months ago I
put on some spongebob just foryou know shits and gigs, and all
of a sudden I was just likethis is is Chris.
This is all of Chris'sreferences.
Speaker 9 (01:00:28):
Chris is a Spongebob
connoisseur.
Yeah, I feel like 99% ofanything that comes out of my
mouth is Spongebob related.
Speaker 14 (01:00:35):
I love that.
What's going on in my head, what's going on in your head the
entire time?
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
What is?
You guys should cover that.
That's actually a good ideaDon't give me any ideas?
Speaker 9 (01:00:47):
man, we'll make that
happen.
We might do that tonight now.
We might do that in 10 minuteswhen we do, I will crowd surf
that would actually be hilariousdude, dude, dude.
Everybody like um who does thatfollowing or reverse they're.
They get the crowd all pumpedup and have them like do the
wall of death and then theybreak into like a really poppy
song.
It's like met a girl and Ireally thought she liked me.
Speaker 6 (01:01:10):
Have you seen that?
Speaker 9 (01:01:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
I did, we could do
that same thing, but with bikini
bottom music I'm totally down.
If you do that tonight, give mea little wink and I'll jump up
on the stage with you, I've gotto find it real quick.
Speaker 9 (01:01:22):
I mean, you could
probably figure that out, you're
very talented.
Speaker 1 (01:01:26):
Well, I appreciate
that.
Dylan, can you handle the drumsfor that?
Speaker 14 (01:01:29):
I don't think so,
man.
Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
Are there drums?
Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
I don't think so, but
Dylan can make them.
That's going to be rough.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
What if you just
played that just with the
cymbals?
Speaker 6 (01:01:39):
Yeah just a little.
Speaker 9 (01:01:42):
A little ding-ding
here.
Speaker 14 (01:01:42):
Yeah, ding-ding here
, yeah, ding-ding there A little
China in there, I might justjump in the crowd myself, I'll
catch you.
Speaker 9 (01:01:48):
That's a pro move.
We'll be right back, we'll beright back, we'll be right back
All right, thanks, hunter.
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
We could end the
interview right there, and
that'd be hilarious, honestly.
Speaker 9 (01:02:00):
Cool, we did it Cool,
we win, we, we did it Cool, we
win.
We have actually won, guys.
I think that was actuallyusable for once.
Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
Yeah, all right,
we're sitting here with Madam
Mayhem coming all the way fromNew York City.
Thank you so much for makingthe travel down here.
We really appreciate it.
You're headlining the acousticstage tonight, is that correct?
Speaker 15 (01:02:19):
Yes, and we're very
excited to be able to you know
that they asked us to do this.
It was a last minute one for usand, uh, we were thrilled we
were able to make it happen.
Yeah, we made it.
We made it.
We just drove down today.
Okay, uh, it's only three and ahalf hour drive, so not too bad
yeah, there's more drives.
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
Yeah, oh yeah.
So this was good, this is good, that's awesome.
So I heard you just released anew single yes, head case.
Speaker 15 (01:02:42):
It's out now, so
everyone check it out if you
haven't heard it already.
It's doing really well on thesecondary market radio charts.
It made it into the top 10, sowe're very, very happy.
Okay, great, I'm sure it'sstreaming on all platforms
Streaming on all platforms andall information can be found at
madamahamcom, and we just haveall the links right there for
everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Gotcha, I'm sure
they're all over social media
and stuff.
Yes, all over.
Great, absolutely.
Speaker 12 (01:03:04):
And also request it
on your local rock radio station
.
It's available.
Speaker 15 (01:03:08):
Oh, yes, yes, yes
they have it.
So tell them to play it Awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
So you said you've
been to Central PA before.
Yes, how long has Madame Mayhembeen around?
Speaker 15 (01:03:16):
for anybody that
doesn't know, you guys, We've
been around for a while now, youknow we've been fortunate
enough to be able to jump on abunch of really cool tours with
the really cool bands andmentors of ours as direct
support and headlining.
Some shows of our own, and alot of them do come through this
area, which is pretty awesome, and so even today, walking in,
I'm seeing friendly faces Lotsof familiar faces yeah, and
(01:03:40):
people wearing our shirts fromshows from like a year ago, two
years ago.
So we weren't really expectingthat and we're thrilled.
Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
I year ago, two years
ago.
So we weren't really expectingthat um and and we're thrilled,
I mean we're really happy to behere.
Speaker 15 (01:03:53):
Good, yes, that's,
that's great.
I mean central pa we.
We have a big thing for musicaround here, so which we very
much appreciate yeah, is thissomething you can notice just
whenever you guys?
Are down here.
Yes, definitely, you guys comeout and we.
Speaker 1 (01:03:59):
We love that I mean
we, we love our live music
around here, we love to supportartists, so I mean it's really,
really great.
You just wrapped up a tour aswell, I heard.
Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
Plans for a new tour
coming up this year or anything?
Speaker 15 (01:04:11):
We are working on it
, so everyone needs to stay
tuned.
At madamayhemcom, we do havenew music in the works as well,
and we're just trying to figureout the right moment to release
it, there'll be stuff happeningbottom line.
Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
Alright good I love
to hear that.
So what are we thinking for newmusic?
More singles and EP, a fulllength.
What do we?
I mean don't, don't share anydetails, it's hard Cause.
Speaker 15 (01:04:33):
like you know, the
world today everyone's like
single, single, single single, which is totally fine, and we
have them and we will releasethem continuously.
But, as music fans ourselves, growing up and being so in love
with rock and metal music andmusic in general like we love
the full albums, we love thestories that they tell.
And so, even though right nowthe big formula, or whatever
they call it, is singles, whichwe will still continue to
(01:04:55):
release, we do want to putsomething a little more cohesive
together for our fans whoreally listen, you know yeah,
yeah, no, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
I mean everybody like
you said.
True, you know the big musicfans like yourself and us.
You know we love a full-lengthalbum.
I like the way you put it.
Speaker 15 (01:05:08):
You know it tells a
story you know, you can't
replace that with just singles, and but you do have to stay up
to times with you know, correcteverything bite-sized for
everyone, I guess yeah so wewill still spoon feed that way
and that's totally fine and it'sstill really fun and it makes
it, you know, more exciting, Iguess, to release, because it's
happening so often and you justget really excited and it's
really fun and you're proud ofwhat you release and you want to
(01:05:29):
really make it count and Ithink that's the cool part.
But we are still, while we'redoing that, trying to put
something together for everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
I got you.
That's cool, that's cool.
So what would you say is one ofyour favorite parts of Mountain
Mayhem being around for years?
One of your favorite parts ofmountain mayhem, you know, being
around for years, is it thetouring fans?
Is it the music?
What, what?
What are some of your favoritetakeaways that you've learned
over these years?
Speaker 15 (01:05:50):
I mean I'm going to
get really cheesy right now, but
I love playing with these guys.
And like we just like we wereall just in an RV together and
like didn't kill each other andwe with them is so fun and and I
think all of us we love playinglive more than I mean we love
writing songs, obviously, andreleasing them, because that's
where we spill our guts yeah butit's the live performance where
(01:06:11):
we get to meet and interactwith fellow music lovers and and
we're all big like again, showtime is where it's at
showtime we do live, that's ourthing yeah, you guys like big
fans of performing yes yeahthat's our number one that
that's great.
Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
That's great.
Wow, man.
So what would you say is likeone of your favorite places to
play?
You play all over.
You know New York and PA and,I'm guessing, the whole East
Coast.
Speaker 15 (01:06:34):
I'm sure.
Speaker 12 (01:06:35):
And the world, the
world, yeah, okay, yeah, the
world.
Definitely Sorry, definitelythe world Okay.
Speaker 15 (01:06:43):
Don't want to
underestimate you guys.
It's fine.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
What are some of your
favorite places to play, would
you say?
Speaker 15 (01:06:48):
It's really hard.
Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
I know it's a tough
question.
Speaker 12 (01:06:50):
I mean one of the.
We've always had a lot of funplaying here on the east coast
and everything, but I gotta sayEurope is Just a different
animal.
I remember the first time weever played in Belfast.
Just the energy was so insaneand everybody had so much fun.
(01:07:16):
So they started having MadameMayhem soccer chants which were
like and we're all soccer fans,so we were very excited.
Speaker 15 (01:07:24):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
That's an awesome
experience.
I was like.
Speaker 12 (01:07:27):
Madame Mayhem, we're
like wait what oh?
Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
my goodness, I'd be
blown away by something like
that.
That was a really cool momentand that's the first time being
there.
Yeah, First time in Europe.
You said it was our first timeplaying that venue, that city.
Speaker 15 (01:07:42):
And so I think it's
really cool when you find areas
where they just love music andso, whether they knew who you
were before you showed up orthey find out who you are as
you're there, like they get itLike those are the most magical
moments, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
Yeah, that's awesome.
Wow, all right.
Well, I mean any other thingsthat I'm possibly missing, or
anything.
Anything you guys wanted topromote Any studios you're
working with?
Speaker 15 (01:08:07):
producers, or I mean
we're working with everybody.
We have our dear friend DavidBendeth Uh, we did a bunch of
stuff with the four horsemenguys down in Nashville.
We're writing a bunch of stuffon our own as well.
Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
Okay.
Speaker 15 (01:08:17):
Um who else we?
I mean who?
Speaker 12 (01:08:20):
well, I mean, oh,
yeah, yeah, yeah.
So you know, so quite a fewpeople and just different type
of product comes out ofdifferent people that we work
with, and that's you know.
That's why we'd like todiversify our sound versus being
like the same thing.
Speaker 15 (01:08:40):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 12 (01:08:40):
Well, we know what
to expect from these guys.
Speaker 15 (01:08:43):
Yeah, that's what I
think, and I don't want it to be
the case.
Speaker 12 (01:08:46):
I'll be like, oh wow
, that's them.
Speaker 15 (01:08:49):
Yeah, like you'll
know, it's us, but it's not
going to be the same thing youthought you just heard, and
that's why we like collaboratingwith so many different other
artists and producers andmusicians, because I think it
brings out the best out of allof us.
Absolutely and challenges youas a musician, as well, bring on
different angles and whatnot.
Speaker 12 (01:09:06):
Yeah exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:09:07):
That's really cool.
I like that.
So what would you say?
I mean, I guess kind of like anoutsider opinion, because you
know we're the centralPennsylvania music podcast, our
wheelhouse is you know a lotwell, I mean really central
Pennsylvania music bands, butyou know, an outsider opinion,
what would you say makes a musicscene so special?
I know we talked a little bitabout central pa, how we kind of
have something special going onhere.
I mean, do you think it's?
(01:09:27):
Is it the bands, the venues, the fans, or is it a mix of
everything?
It's?
Speaker 15 (01:09:31):
definitely the.
The magical mix has to workright but, the most important
thing is a place for the peopleto come and a place for the
bands to play, but more thanthat even is the people that
come and and rock out because noone's coming to the show and no
one wants to connect and no onelistens to live music.
Then what?
What are we doing, you know?
So it's definitely always thepeople, I would say, and then,
(01:09:53):
of course, having the place todo it, um, and then, and then,
of course, then we'll come fromwherever to.
You know, all the bands likeit's great when you have local
bands that are, that are greatand are delivering, and then, if
you have that scene, thenpeople like us from New York
will come and show up.
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
Yeah, exactly, you
build it, they'll come Exactly.
No, seriously, yeah, no, that'sgreat, I love it.
I love it.
Well, thank you so much, Iappreciate your time.
Speaker 15 (01:10:18):
Thanks for having us
Of course.
Speaker 6 (01:10:19):
Thank you so much for
traveling down here for Happy
birthday.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
Bash Of course,
really looking forward to seeing
you guys play tonight.
Speaker 15 (01:10:25):
Yeah, thank you, and
happy birthday to IROC.
Speaker 12 (01:10:27):
Yes, happy birthday
Bye.
