Have you ever watched someone experience Disney World for the first time? There's something magical about witnessing that transformation from skepticism to wonder. On our latest adventure to Florida, that's exactly what happened when Kristie, previously Disney-indifferent, fell head over heels for Animal Kingdom.

Our journey began with a coastal Florida road trip before diving into an action-packed two-day Disney experience. We strategically planned our park days, starting with Animal Kingdom where our rope drop strategy paid off magnificently. While crowds rushed to Flight of Passage, we conquered both Expedition Everest and Dinosaur before the park even opened to regular guests! This early start, combined with strategic Lightning Lane usage, allowed us to experience everything Animal Kingdom offers—from the breathtaking Festival of the Lion King show to the immersive animal trails where Christy spent so much time watching the gorillas we almost missed our next reservation.

Food became an unexpected highlight, especially at Satu'li Canteen where we discovered incredible non-meat options during our Lent Friday visit. The Chili Garlic Shrimp Bowl with sweet potato hash and surprising boba pearls created a flavor combination that was absolutely outstanding and has become a must-try recommendation.

Day two took us to Epcot during the bustling Flower and Garden Festival. Despite initial hesitation, rope dropping Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind proved to be the perfect decision. The 40-minute wait was more than worth it for what might be Disney's most thrilling and immersive new attraction. Living with the Land emerged as a surprising group favorite, while World Showcase provided essential food experiences like School Bread from Norway and fish and chips from the UK that were so good they've become a personal go-to.

Perhaps most valuable was our resort hopping experience, which gave us a broader appreciation for Disney's diverse accommodations. From the elegant Grand Floridian to the rustic charm of Port Orleans Riverside, these explorations helped shape future stay preferences while creating additional magical moments outside the parks.

Whether you're planning your first Disney trip or your fiftieth, we hope our experiences offer some helpful insights and inspiration. Have you witnessed someone's first Disney transformation? We'd love to hear your stories in the comments!

Here's who we are and what is in store for you

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome to Cheers to Ears, where today we
have a very exciting trip recap.
Yes, why is it exciting?
Because it was my trip.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It was your trip.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
It won't be as exciting for you but, like I,
live vicariously through you foryour trips.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
And vice versa.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Right, vice versa.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yes, you text nonstop while you're in the parks.
Yep, before I wake up, afteryou go to bed.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Yep, and hopefully I'll get the same from you Every
time you go.
We're having a banana cabanatoday, and where would one find
that I lost a drink?
Sorry, on my phone.
So anyway, this is our firstever away game podcast.
Yes, we're recording somewheredifferent than we used to record
at my house.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
And now we're at your place.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yes, it just worked out better to be here, yeah we
recorded because I had a soccergame.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
So, yeah, I'm getting used to it here, getting used
to the whole.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Comfy chair.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, it's a very comfy chair Way, comfier than I.
You're a better host than me,but anyway, this drink's served
at Muddy Rivers.
Okay, it's at the Pool Bar atPort Orleans Riverside Resort at
Disney World.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
We're drinking the Banana Cabana.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Which both Christy and I enjoyed when we were on
different days at the bar.
It has Cruzan Mango Rum, ParrotBay Coconut Rum Bowls, Creme de
Banana, Orange Juice andPineapple Juice with a float of
grenadine for $16.50.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Okay, and so we had to, based on what we had we kind
of mixed it up a little bit.
We did a shot of spiced rum, ashot of coconut rum, a shot of
banana rum, a shot of pineapplejuice, a shot of orange juice, a
splash of grenadine.
And I just realized this yousaid mango.

(01:49):
You actually brought the Ididn't bring mango Passion fruit
syrup, so it's got passionfruit instead.
It does, which is fine.
It's quite good.
It tastes almost exactly thesame.
It's a fruity drink from Disney.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I thought I grabbed the mango.
Did I read it last night?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
I grabbed the fridge right before I left.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Oh well.
Well, I mean, it tastes good.
Yeah, it's a good drink.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
This is a banana cabana with passion fruit.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yes, but it had the banana rum, so we're good there.
Right, so we had the banana ruminstead of crème de banana,
because we didn't have crème debanana.
Yeah, and when's the nextbanana drink?
I'm surprised.
We had banana rum.
We've done a couple of.
Yeah, I know this is crazy andI picked up.
I don't know why I picked it up, but I got some minis of banana

(02:36):
liqueur, some cheap bananaliqueur, and because they were
like 99 cents for a drink or twodrinks yeah but then we got the
banana rum, so we decided notto do the banana liqueur for
anything, we'll just use bananarum.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
This is good, it works.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
I like it.
Yeah, tasty stuff.
So it has three shots ofalcohol in it.
So we'll see where we're at inabout 15, 20 minutes here, I
would say Christy's driving home, huh.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah, so anyway, I went to Disney.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
You went to Disney, yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
It was a whole trip.
So it was a planned trip to seemy son Elijah and his
girlfriend Addie.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
And so I'm just going to go on the trip.
Okay, the whole week, justreally quick.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
You had a lot of drinks, a lot of places
non-Dizzy.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
I thought I had more.
I won't talk about thenon-Dizzy drinks.
That's for another time andplace for my all-Florida days.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
So we flew into Jacksonville and rented a car.
That was the plan.
We were just going to drivedown the coast for the week.
The original plan was to drivefrom Jacksonville to Key West
for the week and just and juststay at a bunch of different
hotels and just drive every day,and see as much as we could,

(03:52):
but it slowly morphed into goingto.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
we got as far as Fort Pierce, and where is that?
Is it Palm City?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
It's south of Orlando on the coast, right, so it's
southeast of Orlando, okay, andit's about two and a half hours
from Orlando.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Okay, southeast, so not quite, I don't think Palm
City.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I don't think we didn't go to Palm City, so we
went to every city along the way.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Along the way.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Between Jacksonville and Fort Pierce and a little bit
.
So we went to Port St Lucie StLucy, I'm sorry I call it Port
St Lucie Luce all week longThought I was.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
French and it's Lucy.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
So we went.
That's as far as we got south.
Okay, so we just explored thecoast, went to a bunch of cool
stuff, went to like tiki barsand stuff every day A bunch of
cool foods.
And then Ended up Thursday wedrove up to Orlando.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
So Friday and Saturday we only did two park
days.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
And you didn't stay the first night at the Disney
hotel.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
We did not.
So we got into Orlando earlythat morning.
We left the hotel really early.
Oh, okay, got into Orlando, went straight to Disney Springs.
Okay, free parking, yeah,hanging out.
We walked around all DisneySprings, I showed Christy and it
was better than when we went, because it wasn't pouring down
rain.
So we really got to see.
When me and you went to ToDisney Springs it rained and it
was dark and I'm trying to thinkof when we went September.

(05:14):
Yeah, we went the day we met Eli, oh, the day we met Eli and it
was pouring.
Remember we sat on the rain Onthat Walt statue, that Walt
bench that Walt bench.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, that's right, it was all soaking wet, soaking
wet.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, so we just kind of cruised.
It was early in the morningstill, so it wasn't too hot.
Okay, we just walked around andchecked all the stores out.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
There's a lot of stores there.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah, looked inside of all the restaurants and then
we got kind of thirsty so wewent into Art Lindsay's Hangar
Bar.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Jack Lindsay, jack Lindsay, jack Lindsay.
Why did I put art down?
I do this all the time.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Because I am booking a reservation at.
Oh, I was thinking about yourreservation.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Chef Art Smith's Homecoming Homecoming yeah, yes.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Jack Lindsay's Hangar Bar.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Which I found out he was Indiana Jones pilot.
Yes, I did not know that.
So Jack Lindsay's JackLindsay's Hangar Bar.
We went there and had a drink.
That's all we had there.
We just sat down and had adrink and a water.
I had what's called a wrongisland.
It's like a Long Island, but ithas orange liqueur.
Oh, so it's very good, christy.
I couldn't remember what drinkChristy had for the life of me

(06:16):
and I forgot to ask her beforewe started here, but she also
had a beverage.
It was.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
If I looked at that picture, I would know.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Yeah, I'll pull it up here while we're talking about
our stuff.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Actually you keep talking.
I'll look it up.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Okay, so we walked around there.
Then, before we went to ourhotel, we took a bus to
Boardwalk.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
And then we cruised over the Grand Californian too.
So during the time she got toride the Skyliner, What'd she
think of the Skyliner?
She loved the Skyliner, she,Skyliner.
What'd she think of theSkyliner?
She loved the Skyliner.
She had no idea.
So she didn't know anythingabout Disney World before we
went.
So that was pretty cool to seeher seeing everything for the
first time and not evenresearching or knowing anything
about it.
We visited the Grand Floridian, which she loved.
I didn't know she would like itas much as she did yeah.

(06:58):
I told her to pick a hotel andthen we went to the boardwalk
and walked around there.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
She wasn't a huge fan of the boardwalk from what we
saw of it.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Really.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
It was really hot out at the time.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah, and.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I wanted to.
It was 1, about 1 pm.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
And we were about ready to go to our hotel and
check in and then get somethingto eat outside of Disney.
We were going to get somethingto eat in Orlando.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
So, side of disney, we're gonna get something to eat
in orlando, uh-huh.
So I thought let's just getsomething to eat here.
Let's go to this abracadabra, which I really wanted to go to.
It doesn't open till 4 pm yeah,I remember, I forgot that yeah,
I forgot that, and so it wasstupid.
There was nothing open exceptfor except for the cake bake
shop and that little place.
We went with the sandwiches yes, with a soup and sandwich.
Uh-huh, that place was open andshe didn't want that, so I

(07:47):
didn't get to try.
I'm still have not gone toabracadabra I'm bummed I really
that's one of my, that's one ofmy bucket list things, now that
I haven't been there I mighthave to try 4 pm is a tough time
so we land at 3 40, okay, whenI go.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Well, that might work so soon as we hit, and I think
we're going to Uber from theairport, so we'll get there
pretty quick, right, I'd say by4.30.
So I might, before it getspacked, it might be something to
run up there and go sit there, right, because that was our only
hot drink we've ever had wasfrom Abracadabra.
Yes, the something coffee, theBoardwalk Cafe.

(08:24):
Abracadabra yes, the somethingcoffee, the boardwalk cafe.
Exactly, yes, good drink memory.
Yes, and I can't even rememberit was.
It was like a cafe viennese, which is where you let the
whipped cream melt into thecoffee, and it had a shot of
like vodka, I think yeah, Ireally want to go there.
I really want to go there and Iwant to stay there it and I want
to stay there.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
It's my favorite hotel, yeah, but I would have to
just book it and not tellChristy that's where we're
staying.
Because she won't even carewhere we stay.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Probably not.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Also, I don't care where we stay.
I thought about this on the wayhome.
I don't need a hotel.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
No, it doesn't matter to me, it's where you sleep.
I'm only sleeping there, yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
I'm not a pool guy.
We went to the pool every nightand I could care less.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah, if you're a pool guy, I mean Yacht and Beach
.
You were at a good pool therewere many pools at our hotel.
Yeah, they were everywhere.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, yeah.
So we visited those two resortsand then went to our hotel,
which was the Crowne Plaza LakeBuena Vista.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Okay, that's where we stayed, so you went back off
property.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
We went off property.
We stayed there Thursday night, stayed off property, and then I
found I tried to find theclosest hotel to our hotel, the
resort we were staying at.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
So it'd be easy to drive there because we had free
parking at the resort.
Yeah, the next morning.
So the plan was just to driveto the resort, hop on the bus,
go to Animal Kingdom and youwent real early so you could
rope drop Right yeah.
So we stayed outside the Disneybubble.
Okay, how was that?
Amazing, that's what I wantedto talk about, because we talk
about Harvard Boulevard all thetime at Disneyland.

(09:58):
Yeah Right, this was just rightoutside of Disneyland.
Disney World, disney World, sorry, and their gin pop beats
Disneyland's gin pop.
Oh yeah, big time.
By far Nice hotel, very, veryinexpensive hotel.
How?
much was it a night, so with tax, I paid $106.

(10:18):
Wow, I know it was the cheapesthotel by a long ways.
The whole week we stayed at westayed at, I think, six
different hotels $106.
With tax, that's really cheap, with the balcony facing the
parks.
Wow, it was kind of cloudy.
We couldn't see the fireworkstoo well, but they were
definitely there on a nice day.

(10:39):
On a nice day, but we ate at alittle Latin called Sofrido's
Latin Cafe, which is rightacross the street.
Mm-hmm, very good food Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Also inexpensive.
Nice.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yeah, I had a drink and a big Cuban sandwich.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I found the other drink that you had.
Okay, go for it.
The Fountain of Youth.
That's what she ordered.
Yes, blue Curacao.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Yep, that was what it was.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Yep and other stuff.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
So it was an amazing first night, and we hadn't even
been to the parks yet.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah Well, when you get a resort hop, well we like
to resort hop, mm-hmm.
So if we get a chance to resorthop, we're happy.
I know, but did Chrissy enjoythe resort hopping?
I think she did?

Speaker 1 (11:21):
We had to ask her Did Christy enjoy the resort
hopping?
I think she did?

Speaker 2 (11:23):
We had to ask her.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Okay, yeah, I asked for any advice today that they
had about our Epcot day oranything from the kids and
Christy, and I just got a couplethings from Addie.
I didn't get a thing fromChristy.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
So maybe we'll have her on someday, since she's not
as Disney indifferent as sheused to be.
Yeah, which we will come overthis as we visit the Animal
Kingdom, yes, on Friday morning.
So this is Friday.
Last Friday, the 11th, wevisited Animal Kingdom and we
got up early, drove to PortOrleans Riverside where we were
staying.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Dropped our car off right by the bus place.
Yeah, the bus station.
What time did the bus leave?
At least 40, so they alwaysleave 45 minutes before the
first park entry.
Okay, so if you have for earlyentry.
So 45 minutes before earlyentry is when the bus starts.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
So 645.
645 is when it starts, okay, nice, and it came right on time.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
We hopped on.
We were there early and gotright in the park, walked right
in.
I took my umbrella that day,but it didn't rain.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeah, walked in the parks, decided we would rope
drop everest, since everyoneelse was going to flight of
passage, flight of passage yeah, everybody goes.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
I said, let's do everest.
We could probably do it threetimes today if we go right now
yeah right, it'd be easy, and wealready had the single pass for
flight of passage later in theday.
So I wasn't worried aboutwriting it twice, so we did that
.
We rope drop.
Everest got up right on itright away yeah so before the
park opened I I was likesurprised at how fast we got on

(12:51):
it and rode the ride yeah it wassurprisingly very fast, and so
I was like the closest ride isdinosaur from there.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, we're at now.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Let's go.
Before the park opened, we rodeeverest and dinosaur oh nice
before the park opened to ginpop.
Yeah, and Dinosaur, oh niceBefore the park opened to Gen
Pop, yeah Right.
So totally had those two done.
And then the rest of the day wehad some lightning lanes.
I think the lightning lane foreven Animal Kingdom is
completely worth it.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Because it's only like $16, $18.
Right, but it guarantees you,it makes it easier Almost, just
for making it easier To get intoLion King.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Right that was simple .
We walked right in.
We had a 15 minute grace period.
Looking when the show started,I did it for Lion King, for
Finding Nemo.
Okay yeah, and for the Birds ofFlight, all three shows.
Does that have lightning?

Speaker 2 (13:44):
for Birds of Flight I think they do.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Oh, maybe Flight All three shows I did.
Does that have lightning forBirds of Flight?
I think they do.
Oh, maybe they do.
If they do, I did it.
I forgot if they did or not.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Although, it's one of those things where Because we
got the last show- yeah, becauseyou just get in first, like
Finding Nemo.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
We got in there first .
Oh, that's right, you get thebest seats Right.
There was no one in there.
When we walked in Nice, wewalked in, there was nobody.
Same with Lion King.
We walked into Lion King, wewere the first people in Sat
right in the front.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Oh, excellent.
It was excellent and she lovedthe Lion King show.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Loved Lion Because I had a Lightning Lane for it.
So we did Everest and then hada Lightning Lane for Everest
right at the park open, oh nice.
So we rode it twice right in arow almost.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
And so then I got a Lightning Lane for Fianemo, okay
, and she was surprised at howgood it was.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, it's a good one .

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yeah, and I was like you haven't seen nothing yet.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Yeah it's really really good, but lion king
dwarfs it so much that you youdon't quite realize how good it
is right because that one'sphenomenal the acting's so good
though.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Yeah, and how many parts the different people play?

Speaker 2 (14:48):
uh, one guy will put like six parts yeah six
different fish yeah, I like thepuppet where it's the person
running around with a puppetyeah, I've always liked that
style.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Right to switch your character like that, though.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
I thought it was great.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
I really like the acting and the they got some
talent.
Yeah, their talent was amazingyeah yeah, on the Lion King show
, so we could talk about all.
We went on all the rides atAnimal Kingdom.
We did everything we dideverything before what like 1 pm
.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, and it's.
I mean they say it's a half-daypark and you kind of experience
that, but it's nice because Ilike it for the full day,
because you don't have to feelrushed.
Now, you didn't go on NaviRiver Journey the time we went.
What did you think of that?

Speaker 1 (15:34):
I thought it was okay .
Yeah, I get.
Okay, I don't need to go on itagain.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
No, I don't need to go on it again.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
No, I don't understand the long lines
Because it's next to Flight ofPassage.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I think that's part of it and I don't think it loads
very fast.
Yeah, but I swear they lie withthat time.
It's never been more Than halfof what the stated time is.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Oh really.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Anytime I've ever gone on it.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
We had a lightning for for that too.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Oh, then you're just walking on.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Yeah, so that's the one we.
We didn't do everything before1pm because that was a 5pm
lightning lane.
Oh okay, so I had to wait forthat.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
And it was like 60, 70 minutes all day, yeah, and
then it broke down.
So it broke down right beforewe got on it, oh, and they gave
us an anytime pass thing, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And so we just used it for that.
Yeah, because we already wroteeverything else, and by that
time we were at like 6 pm.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yeah, you have an hour left.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Right, but like the safaris was five minutes wait.
Yeah, and she didn't want to dothat again.
I'll talk about it in a second, because we had lunch at Satouli
Canteen yes, one of my newfavorite spots.
I've never eaten there.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
I know we were kind of forced.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
We were kind of forced because during Lent we
don't eat meat on Fridays.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
And this was a Friday we happened to be at a very
heavy meat-based park withdelicious meat items.
Yeah, there was some good stuffon the menu there are.
Right and that hit me all daylong.
It hit me at dinnertime too,but she had the Ocean Moon Bowl,
which was a tuna poke bowl, yes, and then I had the Chili

(17:13):
Garlic Shrimp Bowl with a sweetpotato hash.
I've seen that so good, thesweet potato hash.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
I've seen that.
So, good the sweet potato hash.
Was that any good it was?

Speaker 1 (17:22):
delicious.
The surprising part was therewere boba balls in it.
Oh, I'm not a boba fan at all,but eating the flavor combo was
perfect.
It made it.
It was so good.
Interesting With the shrimp andthe hash and the bobas.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Interesting.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
It was such, I know, surprising I had to give Christy
a bite.
I was like you gotta try this,Huh.
And we only went there becauseit was the best non-meat place I
could find.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Yeah, during the time .
Well, I'm gonna I think I'mgonna try and hit that place up.
You should when I should when Igo, you should and I had the
elu splash margarita.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Okay, very good drink .
We have breakfast.
Our breakfast is nothing totalk about.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
We ate at starbucks yeah, that was nothing to talk
about the breakfast there is.
You're either eating atstarbucks or you're grabbing one
of the breakfast biscuits, likeat one of the other kiosks.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yeah, we had a very good breakfast, but it had bacon
and sausage in it.
Yeah, I just couldn't have thatthat day.
I wanted to go to that sameplace we went to.
Oh yeah, yeah, that was a verygood little place.
Yeah, had a good coffee, eventhough it was Joffrey's.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
It was a lot of hot coffee.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Yeah, right.
So yeah, we rode Everest threetimes that day.
Nice, Very good.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Love.
That was my favorite rollercoaster, until Guardians hit.
That was my number one rollercoaster.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Yeah, so to finish with Animal Kingdom, christy
finally is a Disney like, notDisney indifferent anymore when
it comes to Animal Kingdom.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
She was a fan, she was a huge fan of Animal Kingdom
and you did.
Did you do all the animal walkswe did?

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Yes, we did, and she stood and she might've stared at
.
I think we almost missed one ofour lightning lanes because she
was staring at the gorilla fortoo long.
Oh, she was like just staringat him walking around.
I was like we got to go.
We're halfway through this.
We got to walk down the passstill.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
So, yeah, it was an amazing day with her.
You went out to.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Rafiki's Planet Watch ?
We did.
Did you do the drawing?
We did not.
She didn't want to.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
And I didn't care if we did it either way.
It looks so much different tome than at Disneyland.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
It is.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Because it's just right there.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
It's right there.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Right in the middle of the place.
It's not like you're in aseparate room.
You kind of can see the artistsitting there, but he's kind of
behind the thing.
It was just we looked at allthe animals.
I famously do not like snakesand you saw this.
I went up to every snake caseand looked inside and stared at
it to make sure she knew I wasserious about this whole thing.

(19:53):
And so chrissy's deadly, deadlyscared of spiders.
She's afraid of spiders so shewould not look at any spider
cases.
Yeah, I was like Chrissy, here'sa tarantula, I'm looking at the
python.
That python had a head as bigas a house.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yeah, it was crazy.
They got a big python RightCrazy Other stuff there.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
So yeah, so our day there.
She bought a lounge fly.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
I saw.
I saw you said she bought allthe things and sent me a picture
and she's got ears and a loungefly.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
It's an Animal Kingdom lounge fly.
Okay, it says Animal Kingdomall over the inside and it has a
Mickey Mouse on the.
It has the Animal Kingdom logostuff in the middle and I was
like she loved it and I was likethis is you got to get a
souvenir of your new favoritepark?
You have to.
Oh, that's so expensive Becauseit was Disney.
Expensive lounge fly.
It was $90.
Oh yeah, which is more thantheir most expensive.

(20:43):
It was usually $80.
I think this was a special parkedition of that park.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I'm going to try and talk Asha into buying this Ski
School Yeti.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
I showed Christy that one yeah.
That's where I bought it.
I bought it in that shop.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
In that shop.
I bought it.
I bought it in that shop.
In that shop, yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Okay, out of Everest.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
If I could get away with having a lounge fly, that
would be the lounge fly I'd haveyeah.
Yeah, I love Ski School, yeti, you do.
He's one of my favoritecharacters.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
So that could be a kid's ride to your new park.
Oh yeah, ski School Yeti, yeah.
Yeah, that's a good ride, Ithink so.
So she was ready to go once Eligot to town.
Eli pulled in there about 5 pmin Disney.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Springs, so keeping her there the last two hours was
tough.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Yeah, we didn't stay.
We almost closed it down.
It was like 6.45 that we left.
We had rode Everest again.
I asked her if she wanted it.
She didn't really want to care.
She went on the safari again.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
And we were safari again and we already done river
rapids.
We did it once.
I didn't, I don't, I don't knowa fan.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
No, it's.
It's kind of boring.
Yeah, eli argued with me aboutthat.
He says it's fun.
Anyway, I don't like the I'myou're gonna get wet for no
reason at all, like we're justgonna throw water in your face
yeah, I like the chance of what?
Of getting water.
Maybe'm going to get soaked,maybe I'm not.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
And if the raft goes down the wrong way, I'm screwed.
Yeah, if it doesn't, I might bedry.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
This one just throws water in your face.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
You're just going by and just whap, it just flashes
by, yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Okay, here's some water Whap, I don't get that.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
That wasn't and the rapids aren't as good.
And it's short, it's just over.
Originally they were going tohave that Go into make it bigger
.
But, they said it would disruptthe animals too much, so they
made it shorter.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
It was about a five minute wait In the early morning
.
So we wrote it then, and Ididn't even get a lightning for
it later.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
I didn't write it.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
I didn't care.
So at about 6.45 we left.
We wrote it then and I didn'teven get a lightning for it
later.
Oh okay, I didn't write it, Ididn't care.
Yeah, so at about 6.45, we left.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Went over to Animal Kingdom Lodge before I talked
her into going there anyway.
Yeah.
I wanted to show her.
I still think she says GrandCalifornian's her favorite hotel
that she saw.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Grand Floridian, grand Floridian, grand
Californian, in Florida.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Yeah, she says that's her favorite one.
I seriously think that.
I still think Animal KingdomLodge is her favorite.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
If you stayed there it might sway her.
Maybe it's one of the mostreasonable Deluxe Deluxe yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Yeah, I think it's her favorite one.
Still, we were there a longtime, even though she wanted to
leave.
Uh Long time even though shewanted to leave Uh-huh.
We looked at both Jumbo Houseand Kidani.
Jumbo House and Kidani's thesafari area.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
And then the cast member standing out there said
they just ate.
Go to the pool.
Right now they're all going tobe hanging out around the pool.
There's going to be a bunch ofanimals around the pool.
There's a safari lookout there.
Well, we walked around a fewminutes, couldn't find how to
get out to the pool at kadanivillage or jamba house at jamba
house okay yeah, you have to godownstairs and we went

(23:45):
downstairs couldn't find it, andthen chris like let's just go,
yeah, and so we got.
We hopped on the bus.
Your shuttle trick yeah, Ididn't know it was there.
But we didn't know.
We didn't know it was there thefirst time you saw it.
Yeah took, yeah Took.
That between the two Worked outperfect.
Nice.
And then we took the bus toEpcot and then got on a bus to
Port Orleans Riverside where wemet Eddie and Eli.

(24:07):
Nice, that evening for dinnerat Boatwright's Dining Hall was
our dinner that night for Eli'sbirthday.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
And what did you think of that?

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Well, I loved what we had.
Yes, and what did you think ofthat.
Well, I loved what we had.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Yes, I was excited to have Again, you had to have.
We couldn't have meat, so youhad a shrimp dish again.
Right, yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
So, yeah, so they had the all you care to enjoy meat
platter that I was lookingforward to, since I reserved it
months ago.
Didn't think it was a friatorin Lent at the time.
Just didn't cross my mind thinkit was a friator and lent at
the time just didn't cross ourmind.
So the taste of the bayou wasnot enjoyed at all it was not by
anyone, nope, no, and addiecan't eat that much.

(24:45):
Yeah, yeah, she can't eatenough to try it.
So I was like you should try itfor all of us, poor kid.
But yeah, she, um, she couldn't, but she ordered the crispy
chicken.
Okay, it looked very good.
I didn't get to try it at all, yeah, and the waitress was very
nice.
The cast members, they were allamazing.
We asked them aboutsubstituting, because almost
everything had sausage in it.

(25:06):
The jambalaya had sausage, eventhe shrimp and grits had
sausage.
Oh, everything had sausage init.
So we asked her what could wedo?
And so she said anything thathas sausage in it.
He's hard with the jambalayabecause he said I'll have them
pick out the sausage for youbecause it's all made in a batch
but, it has shredded chickenalso.
So, we all steered clear to that.

(25:28):
Chris and I both had the shrimpand grits and they took the
sausage out and substituted itfor more shrimp.
Oh, that was nice, amazing, Iknow.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
So when I go to a Creole Cajun restaurant, shrimp
and grits is one of my go-tos.
It's amazing.
I love shrimp and grits.
There's a couple of restaurantshere in town or in Portland
that have really good shrimp andgrits for breakfast.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Oh, yeah, well, we're still going to take you to our
local place.
We have a local in Vancouver.
We have a local, the one wetalk about, the Magnolia Tavern.
Oh, okay, which is not asponsor of the show that.
I just gave him a shout out.
Yeah, so if you're in Vancouver, tell them cheers to Ircinchu,
even though they don't know whowe are.
Who, who, Great, great Bayoufood, amazing.

(26:18):
Shrimp and grits are greatthere.
Nice, they're great.
Just had them a few weeks ago.
Anyway, addie substituted hercolor greens, okay.
So I wanted her to try thecollard greens and not like them
too much.
So she gave them to me, becauseyou mix the collard greens with
the grits one of the besttastes you'll ever have, really,
oh so good.

(26:38):
Now, isn't there bacon, though,in the collard greens?
Well, there was.
I don't know if they make it, Idon't know if it's like that
there.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Where we go.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
It's just cayenne, oh okay in cayenne.
Oh okay, yeah, so good.
Just a boom, spice, nice, andthen mixed with the grits, oh
yeah, very good.
Um, so then I, I had ahurricane, or christy had a
hurricane, okay, and I had awhiskey smash, oh, which was
very good okay, um, I haven'theard of that drink before it

(27:06):
was on their seasonal menu part,so I just went oh yeah, um, I
was gonna get a sazerak, whichis a new orleans go-to, yeah,
but I thought I was.
I thought at the time I wasgonna get a second drink and you
didn't, and I didn't, I waspretty full and they want to do
other stuff and I didn't want tohave two drinks at dinner and
not get one of the pool yeahwe're about ready to go to the

(27:26):
pool, yeah, after that.
So we left.
We took a walk down to portorleans french quarter.
Okay, checked it out.
I think she likes Riversidebetter, really, as far as the
ambiance.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yeah, it's very laid back.
It's more like the GardenDistrict as opposed to the
French Quarter of New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
And the French Quarter was French Quartering
that night yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
It was a party town.
Was it, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
It was loud, there was hundreds of people hanging
out.
Nice, yeah, it was pretty cool.
The vibe was cool, so wecruised back to Riverside, went
to the pool went and changed, went to the pool and had a drink
.
That's where I had the bananacabana.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
And Chris used to sit in the pool.
So that was our Animal Kingdomday, and I've talked a long time
about Animal Kingdom, yes, so Idon't know.
We better cruise to Epcot.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
You better cruise to Epcot, right so?

Speaker 1 (28:14):
before we get into a two-parter yeah, right.
So we got up the next morning, went to Epcot.
Eli had this great idea when wegot up in the morning that he
wanted to rope drop Guardians.
Okay, I was 100% against it.
Why?
Because I'm always scared we'regoing to waste the whole day
there that everyone's going torope drop it.
We'll be in line all day long, yeah.
It's going to take longer thanit would take later in the day.

(28:36):
If we just stood in line, wealready had the single pass.
But if you're close to thefront, well, the key was there
was nothing else.
I cared about rope dropping.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Uh-huh Okay.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
We already had the Ratatouille Lightning Lane.
Yeah, the ratatouille lightninglane.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah, didn't care so let's try it, okay, so we tried
it.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Uh-huh, it worked perfect.
How long was your line?
It was so from part from thetime, not when we walked in, but
the time um early entry started.
Okay, it was 40 minutes ohtotal so from walking, that's
walking in the park.
Standing in line, that's fromtime, that's not in the park
standing in line.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
That's not bad.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
That ride is worth 40 minutes, oh yeah, I think it's
worth a little over an hour.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Yeah, yeah, I think so.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
I think if I was to ride it for a third time in a
day, I would go an hour.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
10, hang out in line just to ride it one more time,
as rare as we get to go toDisney World, yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Right, so we did get to ride twice.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
That day and Eli was totally crazy flabbergasted
about the ride.
Yeah, and we got off and hisquote was I think I got this
right.
Eli will tell me if I'm wrong.
First he said why don't theymake more rides like this?
I don't understand, yeah Right,I just don't get why they don't

(29:54):
.
And this could be an entire parkyeah, they could have a whole
park of this.
Yeah, this could be a wholepark by itself.
That's how much everyone liked, and everybody loved it.
Right, everyone loved, everyoneloved.
Guardians, what songs did youget we got?
We got um september, the firsttime nice, and then the second
time.
Is it Disco Inferno one of them?
So Is that right?

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, yeah.
So September is everybody'sfavorite song.
Now certain people havedifferent songs that they're
favorite, but overall morepeople like September than you
know.
And Disco Inferno is like theleast liked song.
I liked it fine.
It was great.
I love Disco Inferno.
I think I party more Because ofwhen you go over that first

(30:35):
hump, when you're goingbackwards, it just hits with the
music perfectly.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Man, I'm just sticking to the ride right now.
I know it's that good yeah.
It's that good.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
It's an awesome ride.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Oh, wow.
So yeah, everyone loved thatride.
I won't go into all the rides, but one by one, because we did,
we did everything but but um,the fine nemo ride yeah, we did
everything else.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Did you do all the shows?

Speaker 1 (31:00):
we did all the shows, we didn't do the china, the
china show.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Yeah, that's okay we watched the canadian one okay
eli wanted to go.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
He like just walked in.
Yeah, I was like we don't haveto, and he walked right in.
So we didn't watch the Chinashow.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
How'd they like the take on Beauty and the Beast?
They were surprised.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Okay, they were surprised.
A lot of people were surprised.
Uh-huh.
I don't think a lot of peoplewatch that, because you just
kind of walk in there.
It's not a thing people thinkabout when they go there.
Yeah, they really liked thatand uh, we did mission space
orange and green brave yeah.
So no one, really no one reallyloved orange.
And the second time the firsttime I liked it more because I

(31:37):
didn't know what I was to expect, uh-huh, but we were all in
there together so it was prettyfun.
Yeah, the green one was reallyfun because there's a little
button that says roll uh-huh onthe of all those buttons
immediately.
I kept pushing.
I was like roll and the button.
So we just talked the wholetime.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
And we were all four together, so it was pretty fun
having all four people in thesame capsule and it's just four
to a capsule.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
It's four to a capsule.
Yeah, it was pretty fun havingall four people in there.
It's fun when you have thewhole vehicle.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Ride a vehicle to your side.
Yeah, we yelled and screamedlook sideways.
Because they tell you not tolook sideways, because it can
disorient you, so that was fun.
What did everybody think?

Speaker 2 (32:15):
of Remy's.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
I think everyone liked it.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
I really like Remy's.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
I like it.
I don't love Love it.
It's not worth a wait to me.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
No, I don't think I'd want to wait more than 35
minutes or something that's fair.
That's fair.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Yeah, but I think it's fun.
It's a fun ride.
Yeah, the queue's great, it is,and the visuals around the ride
are amazing.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
But other than that it's just okay.
I'm not a big screen-based rideguy.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, I don't love it this one does it good because
it's the 4D.
Yeah, it was pretty fun.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
It was fun for me.
Everyone didn't know what wasgoing to happen.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
And then watching them see what happened.
But they're like Remy's fine Ithink.
I think I didn't ask Rye'sspecific stuff because I think
we're going to have Addie andEli on because they went to all
four parks this year Becauseyeah, I don't want to ruin that
by even knowing what they'regoing to say.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Yes, Actually, first I'll ask.
So everybody did they like theedutainment aspect of it?
Living with the land andspaceship, Earth?

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Living with the land was a favorite.
Okay, I mean, I wouldn't besurprised if Eli puts in his top
five favorite rides, which isweird for a 19 year old kid yeah
, to like that kind of ride somuch but it's a cool ride that
was surprising and I said duringthe ride we were riding the
ride I told eli, said if, ifchristy was an imagineer and

(33:46):
they're sitting in a boardroom, this is the kind of ride she's
coming up?
yeah, she's gonna.
She's gonna come up with astyle ride.
Yeah, so, yeah, so I love that.
I don't know about figment.
I couldn't tell from the groupif they like figment as much as
I do.
Yeah, I like it I could writefigment five times a day.
Yeah, I like him that much.
I don't know if everyone did,we'd have to, we'd have to ask.
Take a poll on that uh huh yeah, tell us if you like figment.

(34:09):
I don't know, is that still abig thing where everyone likes
Figment?

Speaker 2 (34:13):
He's still a big draw as far as he's a big character,
yeah, as far as stuff goes.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
I don't know.
I heard rumors they're going tohave a Figment show.
Oh that they're talking about.
Maybe it was just something BobIger said in passing.
Now, did you do?

Speaker 2 (34:27):
the three cartoon show, the three cartoon show,
the three caballeros no, whereit's three cartoons.
No, we didn't.
Okay, we did not Because whenwe went they didn't have the 4D
aspect going.
Maybe, that's why I justskipped it.
The floor was bouncing andstuff the times I went and that
wasn't working when you and Iwent, so I like those.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
I should have went to them.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Yeah, anyway.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
But we didn't have a lot of time, it was so busy.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
It was one of the busiest days of Disney I've been
to in a long time, especiallythe World Showcase.
Yeah, there was peopleeverywhere because it's the
Flower and Garden Festival.
Yeah, eating their stuff.
The lines were long.
I was so happy to get an Ottawaapple.
When I got there, uh-huh, and Iwalked to the line.
It was about, I would say, 35,40 people deep.
It wrapped around to the.

(35:16):
It wrapped around past the, around the corner, so past the
whole line of the popcorn cart.
That's crazy.
And then around the corner.
It was that long and then, luckily, later in the day, eli
saw that it was short.
I wasn't even looking.
I was going straight to Mexico.
I was looking straight ahead.
We're going to walk all the waythrough and Eli's like you want
to grab the Ottawa apple realquick.

(35:36):
It's short right there.
It's sort of like five peoplein line.
So I grabbed the Ottawa apple.
I got to have it, but earlierin the day I had the fish and
chips for the first time atYorkshire County.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
I was going to ask you if you tried any new food.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
I want that again.
That's some good fish and chipsI'm going to have that as much,
as that's one of my go-tos now.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
It's a hard one to eat on a hot muggy day, yeah,
but there's plenty of seating.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
You can go down by the water.
There's lots of shade.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
So if you go down there and just and the tartar
sauce had dill in it, which I'mnot a dill fan, but with the
taste of the buttery of the fishit took away that dill taste.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Oh really, and it was still good.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
The sauce was even good.
So, yeah, I love that.
For lunch, we went to LaCreperie de Paris, okay, where
we had breakfast.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Yes, that day, okay, in the back with the galettes,
yeah, so I couldn't findanywhere to eat Everything was
so crowded.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Uh-huh, I couldn't find anywhere to eat.
Everything was so crowded.
And it's the only reservation Icould find that wasn't like a,
a mobile area.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
No it was oh, you went into the restaurant.
We went in and sat down.
Okay.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Everyone was hungry.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
I couldn't find anywhere to eat.
Everyone had long lines, eventhe outside part of the creperie
.
Craperie Right had the cratepeplace.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Had a big long line, yeah, so we got reservations and
sat inside.
It's the only place I couldfind that didn't have like $7
signs by it on the app to getreservations, yeah.
Right, we all had a crepe.
I had the ratatouille crepe.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
How was that one?
Very good, very.
We all had a crepe.
I had the Ratatouille crepe.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Oh okay, how was that one Very good, very good.
I haven't had that one, it wasa little heavy.
I have the cheese, bechamel andham whenever I order that that
might be the one Eli had.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
We had four different ones, okay, which was real good
, and I had just an espresso, acappuccino.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
I had a cappuccino with it.
It was very good.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
And then as far as other rides we did that day, we
almost didn't get on Frozen.
Oh, because the lightnings weregone by the time I got my first
light, by the time we rode ourfirst lightning lane.
Because, we didn't get oneuntil like 11am Was our first
one.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
By then Frozen was done for the day.
Wow, so we weren't gonna getAddy loves Frozen Now did you
fiddle with it?
Like 11 am was our first one.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Oh, okay, by then, frozen was done for the day.
Wow.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
So we weren't going to get Addy loves Frozen.
Now did you fiddle with it,tried, eli tried all day.
Oh, so we got lucky and Elikept trying.
Okay, so we went to threecaballeros right before we left
the park and I'm going all overthe day.
I'm not going, yeah yeah.
Right before we left the parkwe went to Three Caballeros and
Eli noticed that it opened itclosed.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Right until it closed down.
It opened back up and we wereat Three Caballeros.
It was kind of right around thecorner.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Yeah, it's right there.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Right, and so he's like it's open, let's go.
We didn't wait at all.
Nice we walked right ontoFrozen right before we left the
park.
It was like 8.30 or so 8.45,something like that, and it's
right after we finally got aschool bread.
Okay, because that's a cheersto ears rule of the park.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Ottawa apple and school bread.
Yeah, and school bread.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Yeah, I think everyone Eli doesn't like
coconut at all and I forgotthere was coconut on it until we
got in line.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
And I looked at it and I was like, oh crap, it has
coconut.
But I think he still kind ofenjoyed it.
Yeah, we'll have to find outlater, but I think he kind of
liked it.
The cream makes the coconut notso strong and that's what the
cast member told him.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Yeah, I said oh, you don't like coconut.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
And she's like, oh you don't really taste.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Now I think it's called a cringla the almond
pretzel.
I always grab those on the wayout of the park and have them
for breakfast the next morning.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
That's kind of been my trick.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
I've done that two or three times.
Now they have an almond cringlaand a chocolate drizzle cringla
.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Yes, I always get the almond.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Yeah, very good.
I did not get anything from thecaramel.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
Caramel Kucha Didn't get anything.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
I was, just I was, it was hot.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
And it was.
It wasn't too hot, it was anice hot.
Yeah, it was busy and I wasn'thungry, we just had that.
The crepe was pretty filling.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Yeah, it is.
It is but like it's kind ofnice when you go with a group
because you can try a bunch ofstuff and just split it a bunch
of ways.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Right, we should have planned that better.
If we planned our food better,it would have been a lot
different.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
We could have stood in different lines at the same
time, like Like all four of you, picked up one order of fish,
right, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
I got one.
I just stood in line.
It was just me.
Yeah, I got one order of fishand we just picked off of it.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
But Addie doesn't eat seafood, so she tried the fries
, which were some of the bestfries I've ever had.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
They are good fries.
They were so good, they aregood fries, right Yep.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
They out of an English pub Right or English
fish and chips.
So yeah, we just wroteeverything and had a full day at
the park.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Yeah nice, it was a full day.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
We didn't go anywhere after.
We went right back to the hotel.
Now did you do breakfast thenext day?
That was the plan, so we left.
We went back to the pool baragain, okay, after we got back.
So we left the park after 9.
Yeah, got back around 9.30.
It wasn't too long.
Riverside's pretty close toEpcot.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
It's kind of right around the corner.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Yeah, because they have that other road there,
right yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
So we got back, changed and went to the pool
again, got a drink.
Christy had the banana cabanathis time, okay, and I had.
I thought I wrote it down.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
Island Breeze.
Is that when you had that theIsland Breeze?
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (41:15):
No, that was at.
That was at Somewhere else.
Yeah, I had the Captain's MaiTai, Okay, the Island Breeze at
Animal Kingdom, okay, which Iforgot what the place was called
.
It was the barbecue place.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
Flaming Tree.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Yeah, yes, so anyway, went back to the pool bar got a
drink.
Eli was hungry, asked the barif there was anything to eat and
they only had like popcorn left.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
Or something like that.
They didn't have anything left.
They already everything alreadysold out.
Yeah, so we ended up going backto the main restaurant.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
The quick service, the quick service place.
Yeah, yeah, the quick service, the quick service place, yeah,
and order food.
You and I ate there once.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
We did.
Yeah, I told them that Sameexact quick service place,
almost the same table.
We sat right next to where wesat.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
We just had our drinks and hung out for a while
and then we went to bed.
The whole plan was to get upearly and go to Riviera.
And go to Riviera era, havebreakfast and then get on the.
But it was a good, so we, wemapped it out, it was about four
.
It would take us four or fivehours total to drop the kids off
and get to jacksonville airportyeah we had to get gas twice

(42:22):
right, because we had to get gasbefore we went and then gas gas
up right before we got to thehotel or the airport.
So it was so difficult to tryto plan to make sure we were
there on time yeah that when Iwoke up I woke up first in the
morning and eli was crashed.
He was out, everyone wassleeping yeah so I kind of
fiddle faddled around a bit andlike let's just not go have,

(42:44):
we'll get breakfast somewhereelse yeah so we didn't go to
riviera.
Chris is the only one thathasn't been there yeah, that's
true everyone else has seen it.
She'll love it.
It might be Eli's secondfavorite hotel.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
Okay, I really like it too.
I think once the trees allmature and stuff it's gonna be
even better.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
It might be my first favorite hotel.
Either that or I don't know.
Between that and Boardwalk, which one I like more?

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Yeah, those are my two favorites.
I like it just because of thatcoffee shop and the quick
service breakfast Right.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
But I didn't hate Port Orleans Riverside.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
No.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
Everything about it was fine.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
Again.
I mean I'm going to say thisit's my favorite moderate.
It beats Coronado Springs.
Okay, I like it a lot betterReally.
Yeah, the vibe vibes a lot, just chiller there, yeah you're
more you're closer to everything.
You know how far we were awayfrom the lobby at corn on the
springs.
We were miles right I need ane-bike, I think, to get there

(43:41):
yeah or a, or a tram orsomething it was like a 10.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Minute.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
Yeah, it was a long way so that's why I kind of
prefer not like the vibe ofbeing right.
You're like with the hotel nextto the French Quarter, next to
you, you feel like you're moreinto something.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
Yeah, and there are a lot more people hanging out At
night time.
It is because of the Scat CatsClub.
Uh huh yeah, I think it's moreof a destination place to go
hang out.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
Yeah, I just had some clients go to Riverside.
I should ask them how theyliked it.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
I have not followed up with them, so they had the
special for the Disney Pluspeople.
It was $169 a night forRiverside, or maybe it was
French Quarter, one of those two.
I think, it was Riverside,because that's usually a little
cheaper $169 a night.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
That's crazy.
That's less than I paid.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
That's dirt cheap.

Speaker 1 (44:33):
That's less than I paid.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
That was because they still had the All-Star for $99.
Yeah, hard not to book a tripwhen you see prices like that,
right.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
I sent you that picture yesterday.
Did you read that?
The picture I sent you that myboss had on the screen?
Yeah, that it's cheaper.
Than what year did he put 2017,head on the screen?
Yeah, that it's cheaper.
Than what year did he put 2017or 18?
Something like that yeah, thatit's cheaper now With all the
discounts.
Yeah, to go to Disney World.

Speaker 2 (44:58):
It's cheaper now.
Yeah, that's crazy.
And when you have thatcompanion certificate you need
to use a by November.
Thank you, Christy, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Christy.
So so I did yell thank you, christy On On Everest.
Thank you Christy, thank youChristy.
So I did yell thank you, christy on Everest.

Speaker 2 (45:15):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (45:15):
As we were going.
So we got to the top rightwhere the tracks on.
Everest before we go backwardsand looked at her.
I tried to look at her veryserious and I put my hand on her
arm and said, christy, there'ssomething I really have to tell
you.
There's something I really haveto say.

(45:38):
And then, right when I startedgoing, back I yelled thank you,
christy, nice, okay.
Yeah, sounds like a good trip.
That's our trip.
So in a couple months I'll havemy uh, my yeah recap.
That might have to be a two-dayor two-episode, or because
it'll be four park days plus afifth day.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Yeah, it'll be that extended evening.
I'll break it down where we cando it one episode really
because it'll I'll be just doingnew foods, new stuff that I try
.
I think I'll do that route.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Maybe, maybe you'll want to do it, we'll talk about
it.
Yeah, we'll figure it out, youmight want to talk about how
everyone liked their first time.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
Yeah, that's true.
Some of them second time It'llbe three first timers, two
second timers and then me, who'sgone a half dozen times.

Speaker 1 (46:13):
Yeah, so you might want to talk more about that.
We might have to break it intotwo, where you do like two parts
an episode.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Yeah Well, we'll see, we'll see.
All right, until then, cheers,Cheers.
