SPEAKER_02 (00:00):
Hello and welcome to
Cheers to Ears, where today
we're drinking the handsomebrute from Be Our Guest of Magic
Kingdom.
It's made with Tito's homemadevodka, shamboard liqueur,
pomegranate juice, and lemonjuice, and is garnished with a
sugar rim and raspberries, andit's sold for$17.50, Erin.
Yes.
SPEAKER_01 (00:18):
So with ours, we did
with our last episode made the
mistake of trusting Chad GPT alittle too much.
Right.
So this I made sure Idouble-checked everything.
That's how they're gonna takeover the world, people.
And I thought it went a littlelight on the vodka.
So we did one and a half ounce,we did a full shot of Tito's
(00:38):
vodka.
We did one ounce of ourraspberry D Amor raspberry
liqueur instead of theshamboard, two ounces of
pomegranate juice, a half ounceof lemon juice, and then yeah,
we put some raspberries in therefor a little garnish, the sugar
rim.
Oh, yeah.
And this is good.
(00:59):
Oh yeah.
This is good.
It's reminding me of that Enzo'srum punch we had a little while
ago because it had cherry and Ibelieve pomegranate in that.
And it's just a little, it's adifferent type of fruity.
But it's really good.
I'm liking these raspberryliqueur drinks.
SPEAKER_02 (01:18):
So we just said that
$17.50 was a good price when we
were just talking, right?
A good price for a drink.
But how much is be your guest toeat there?
It's like$88 or something.
So it's not$17.50, really.
Because at first you gotta paythe$88.
Yeah.
Well, let's look at up.
Then you can add on the$17.50.
Sorry,$72.
SPEAKER_01 (01:37):
Cinderella's table
is$88.
Okay.
So$72,$43 for child, and Ibelieve, yeah, lunch and dinner
is the same.
And they had a special thing foruh Mickey's Not So Scary, yep.
SPEAKER_02 (01:50):
This is there we go.
Is this a Mickey's Not So Scarydrink?
No, no, but we were gonna haveone, we were gonna make one,
maybe.
SPEAKER_01 (01:56):
I don't know.
SPEAKER_02 (01:57):
I don't remember.
SPEAKER_01 (01:58):
Oh, we talked about
it because we were talking about
doing a Halloween episode andthings that would scare us.
SPEAKER_02 (02:03):
Yes.
SPEAKER_01 (02:04):
If Disneyland did
did something, what Disneyland
could do to scare us.
SPEAKER_02 (02:09):
That sounds like a
good next because that would
come out around Halloween time,I think.
I don't know.
We might be past are we we'vegot two more weeks.
We can do whatever we want.
Two more Wednesdays.
Yeah, we don't have episodenumbers.
We can do this however we want.
You can see this at any time.
Anywhere we want to put it.
SPEAKER_01 (02:26):
We might have not
released some episodes.
Anyway, very good drink.
I'm enjoying this one.
SPEAKER_02 (02:32):
It's different.
I love it.
Yeah.
It's right up there for me.
It has like everything it'salcohol forward enough.
Yes, it's fruity enough, andit's pretty enough.
SPEAKER_01 (02:43):
And it yes, it is it
looks really good.
It's an attractive drink.
It does look like it would be agood Halloween drink.
It does.
Very red.
SPEAKER_02 (02:52):
Looks looks like a
little red blood-like.
SPEAKER_01 (02:55):
Yeah.
So I don't know.
Maybe this would we'll have tolook for something.
Now I had a Halloween cocktailwhen we went last year.
We're gonna talk about thisforever.
SPEAKER_02 (03:06):
This is gonna come
up at least three times again.
It was salty.
You hated that.
I remember that.
I that's the only reason Iremember sitting at that pool
bar.
Yeah.
That we were at that little tinygurgling suitcase.
It was a little tiny bar rightoutside the pool.
Old Key West.
Yeah.
It was a terrible drink.
SPEAKER_01 (03:27):
Yours was good.
SPEAKER_02 (03:28):
Yeah.
Yeah, you really didn't like it.
SPEAKER_01 (03:30):
It looked good
because it liked Blackberry and
yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (03:33):
And then they had a
Norm Peterson or a Cliff Clavin
there at the bar.
Oh, yes, they did.
It looked like it seemed like hewas there every day.
Yeah, hanging out.
SPEAKER_01 (03:41):
Old Key Jeff.
That's from a different podcast.
And we didn't see him there.
And we've never met him.
So we're doing something from BeOur Guest because we're gonna
talk about Fantasyland.
We are.
We've done Tomorrowland andFrontierland.
We need to talk aboutFantasyland.
We so do.
And it's we're gonna talk bothabout the Disneyland version and
(04:04):
the Magic Kingdom.
And what I did is I broke itdown to who has the better eats,
what's the better layout, what'sthe better rides and shows.
Shopping, I thought, was fairlyequal between the two.
They both have a bippity boppityboutique.
And we'll just kind of workthrough this pros and cons, and
then at the end we'll try todecide who has the better
(04:25):
fantasy land.
SPEAKER_02 (04:26):
Yep, we're just
free-flowing here.
SPEAKER_01 (04:28):
And whether or not
it's a thumbs up or a thumbs
down land.
Like overall, Disney has hit themark on this one.
Where like Tomorrowland, it's abig thumbs down.
SPEAKER_02 (04:38):
Yeah, both parks.
SPEAKER_01 (04:39):
Yeah.
And Frontier Land, I think, is athumbs up on both, even though
they're both very different.
But anyway, let's get todiscussing.
So Better Eat.
SPEAKER_02 (04:51):
Let's do it.
SPEAKER_01 (04:52):
Disneyland, oddly
enough, has only well now.
I guess there's four.
So Disneyland wing technicallyMatterhorn is included in
Fantasyland.
And there's the that walk withturkey legs, and I think they've
got a lote, and which is thecorn on the cob, and stuff like
(05:15):
that.
But for the most part, there'sMaurice's Treats, Red Rose
Tavern, and Troubadour Tavern.
SPEAKER_03 (05:20):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (05:21):
And then there's
little kiosks.
Yeah.
Or the little carts everywherewhere you can get the usual.
So Magic Kingdom hasCinderella's Royal Table, which
is the restaurant in the castle,Be Our Guest, which is the
Beauty and the Beast themed, sitboth sit down, Gaston's Tavern,
Pinocchio Village House, FriarsNook, and those are all kind of
(05:44):
quick service.
Storybook treats and CheshireCafe, which are more along the
lines of I would say Maurice'sTreats.
So it's a quick service, but avery limited menu on what you
can get at Storybook Treats andCheshire Cafe.
Now for Disneyland, MauriceStreets, the only time I really
go there, like I went and gotthat coffee.
SPEAKER_02 (06:05):
Got a coffee.
SPEAKER_01 (06:06):
Which was good.
SPEAKER_02 (06:06):
Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01 (06:07):
But those are long
line, too.
Yeah, long lines there.
They have, and it's not realfast.
Well, it wasn't too bad, Iguess.
But they have the CheshireCattail.
And which they have at theCheshire Cafe at Murray's
Treats, they have them as well.
And iconic snack, I would say,but I've never tried it.
(06:30):
I just no appeal to me.
Red Rose Tavern and TroubadourTavern.
Troubadour Tavern, you can get aBratwurst or you can get a baked
potato.
So limited ease, I would say, inthe Disneyland.
SPEAKER_02 (06:45):
Yeah.
Now Red Rose Tavern, I love.
Yes.
I think it's mostly because oflocation, though.
It's where it's on the cusp ofGalaxy's Edge.
Frontier Land.
Frontier Trans right there.
I want to buy it so many times.
I always end up eating somethingfrom there.
Rarely, if ever, eat there.
But it's a good people watchingplace.
If you get a table right next, because everyone was walking by
(07:08):
that little, it's not that bigof a space.
SPEAKER_01 (07:10):
Yeah.
And you had, because we did eatthere, and I had one of their
flatbreads, which I actuallyreally enjoyed, and it was a
decent price.
And you had one of their crunchwrap supreme.
That was good.
SPEAKER_02 (07:21):
I liked it for the
price.
SPEAKER_01 (07:23):
So that was really
good.
I think Pinocchio Village Houseis a similar menu.
Maybe.
SPEAKER_02 (07:30):
Can you get the gray
stuff anywhere else?
And where can you get that atthe end of the day?
SPEAKER_01 (07:33):
I can get that at
Magic Kingdoms.
SPEAKER_02 (07:34):
Just at BR guests.
SPEAKER_01 (07:36):
Maybe you could get
it at BR Guests.
Yeah.
But you can get it at Red RoseTavern.
SPEAKER_02 (07:41):
You can.
So that's a big bright spot.
But what Magic Kingdom has intheir fantasy land for rest for
dining is so much.
SPEAKER_01 (07:50):
Yes.
Now, will I ever eat atCinderella's table or be our
guest?
Probably not.
Definitely not BR guests, because I've never heard
anything good about their foodconsidering the price.
SPEAKER_02 (08:01):
Yeah.
If I had grandchildren to take,I would go see, I would go
there.
Little kids, that little kids'tray they have.
SPEAKER_00 (08:09):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (08:09):
The edible cups.
That's a good potential there.
SPEAKER_01 (08:12):
Yeah.
I think I'd rather, if I weregoing to drop that much money,
I'd go to Cinderella's table.
But honestly, the only one ofall of these that I kind of
count as a destination when I gois Gaston's Tavern.
SPEAKER_02 (08:27):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (08:27):
Because I want that
cinnamon roll.
And their other food is actuallyreally good there.
Yeah, we shared it when we wereat Magic Kingdom.
SPEAKER_03 (08:33):
It was very good.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (08:35):
And then I had with
their ham and cheese thing to go
along with it.
So overall, so Disneyland, weate there, but honestly, I'm not
ever looking to eat there.
SPEAKER_02 (08:48):
No, and Disneyland's
so much more compact.
Yeah.
That they don't have to have abunch of restaurants in
Fantasyland.
Well, they can't because they'renot going to be able to do that.
No, but I think they just gaveup on it too.
They could do something to makesomething else there.
SPEAKER_01 (09:02):
Yeah, it'd be hard
to shoehorn in.
SPEAKER_02 (09:04):
Yeah, they could
they could do something, but
they don't need it becausethere's so many other things
short walking distances away.
Yeah.
But Magic Kingdom wins this bigtime.
SPEAKER_01 (09:12):
Yeah, I think so
too.
SPEAKER_02 (09:13):
It's not even close.
SPEAKER_01 (09:14):
You have a lot more
choices.
And honestly, I would considersome of these choices, even the
quick service, above otheroptions at Magic Kingdom.
Yeah.
And I think Disneyland hasoverall better food than Magic
Kingdom, at least for quickservice.
There's not a whole lot ofsit-down.
(09:35):
If you're talking about sit-downrestaurants, Magic Kingdom wins
by a mile.
SPEAKER_03 (09:39):
Right.
SPEAKER_01 (09:39):
Overall.
So yeah, I gotta give the nod onbetter eats to Magic Kingdom on
this one.
Totally agree.
So better layout.
So I had at Disneyland, thebottom of Disneyland, there's
that little arm where Maurice'streats are and the fairy tale or
the Royal Hall.
Right.
(09:59):
Down there.
The top is like Casey Jr.
Red Rose Tavern is to the leftside, and Mad Tea Party is like
the right boundary.
The outliers being the RoyalTheater down there where
Maurice's treats are, becauseit's just this little pocket,
but it's still part of fantasyland, I think, where there's the
(10:21):
meet and greet.
Then there's Small World and theFantasy Theater, which nothing's
playing there right now.
But those don't feel attached.
SPEAKER_02 (10:31):
No.
SPEAKER_01 (10:32):
And honestly,
Matterhorn doesn't feel
attached.
SPEAKER_02 (10:34):
It doesn't, but
it's, I mean, everything has to
be part of the land.
SPEAKER_01 (10:38):
And they are.
And they all three are, but theydon't have that like you're in a
town square.
So when you go to the fantasyland around King Arthur's
carousel, you feel like you'rein the town square.
With all those little buildingsand stuff.
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (10:55):
That little that one
little area, even though it's
always so crowded in there, itis hard to get around.
And they're mostly rides forlittle kids.
So all the kids are there, eventhough I love all of them.
But it's OG Disney.
When you're in there, it's MainStreet and Fantasyland.
I think those two are either paror you can put one above the
(11:16):
other as what is the most iconicDisneyland.
Yeah.
Is those two.
Yeah.
Because that Fantasyland andDisneyland, like looking at
Magic Kingdoms, it's so spreadout.
SPEAKER_01 (11:29):
And so Magic
Kingdom, the bottom is the
castle.
The top is Gaston's Tavern.
And I really went back and forthwhether or not I wanted Ariel's
Under the Sea Ariel's journey,whatever the I can't remember
the name of it.
And the meet and greet for Arielup there.
Small World on the left-handside.
(11:51):
Small World and Peter Pan arekind of like the end of
Fantasyland.
And then the right is Mad TeaParty.
Although there's a couple thingsthat sneak around.
So there's Cheshire Cafe, andthere's a Mirabelle Meet and
Greet, just right around thecorner from the Cheshire Cafe.
And then the outliers.
So Dumbo doesn't really evencount as Fantasyland there
(12:13):
because it's part of that littlecircus land.
SPEAKER_02 (12:15):
It's so different.
SPEAKER_01 (12:16):
It's that circus
land that they've created.
Even though they don't call itcircus storybook land?
No.
It's just fantasyland.
SPEAKER_02 (12:25):
It's like there's a
name that has when you walk
through.
Yeah, it's I don't remember whatit is.
But it's its own land.
SPEAKER_01 (12:31):
I don't even care
what it's called.
It's a dumb Dumbo.
Yeah.
And all ride Dumbo and Goofy'sBarnstormer.
Yeah, Barnstormer's alright.
SPEAKER_02 (12:40):
I mean.
SPEAKER_01 (12:40):
Yeah.
But they're not really part ofthe Fantasyland.
But it's long, it's reallydisjointed because Seven Dwarves
Mind Train is right smack dab inthe middle.
And it should be at an edge.
So, you know, what they did isthey filled in, I guess they
filled in Nemo, their Nemo rightthere.
(13:03):
And built seven dwarves on topof it.
Not a good one.
But I don't like that pathbehind it.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (13:09):
Disjoint is the best
word for it.
Because it could be long andstill good.
It could be big and still good.
But it's like different spaces.
SPEAKER_01 (13:19):
It feels like four
areas all glued together poorly.
It's like a first grade artproject.
SPEAKER_02 (13:27):
Exactly.
So you have to ask yourself iswhere do you feel most like
you're in in a fantasy land?
Yes.
And to me, that's Disneyland.
And I think for layout, it justhands down.
Yeah.
It's just better.
Standing near carousel.
Yeah.
At Disneyland.
Between the carousel and thecastle, that little area is
crazy awesome.
(13:48):
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Just all the little dark ridesright around it.
SPEAKER_01 (13:52):
Yeah.
It's just so good.
There's tons of them.
SPEAKER_02 (13:55):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (13:56):
Tons of rides.
And just there's a lot ofkinetic energy going on there.
It just is it's constantlymoving.
People moving through there.
And yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (14:06):
And my tip is if you
want to ride all of them in 25
minutes, you go on Star Warsnight.
There you go.
Because that's what I did, andit worked perfect.
SPEAKER_01 (14:13):
When we could rope
drop, it it went really well, I
think, to rope drop.
So because we hit, I think wedid Peter Pan first.
Maybe we even skipped Peter Panand we wrote everything else.
Because everything else waswalk-on.
Because people rope drop PeterPan and go straight to it.
And so we rope drop everythingelse, except for Alice in
(14:35):
Wonderland.
And it's been a long time sinceI wrote that.
SPEAKER_02 (14:37):
No, it's because
it's around the corner.
So I miss it so many times.
SPEAKER_01 (14:42):
And then we ran back
and did Mickey Minis when it
first opened and stuff.
So obviously the better layoutis gonna be Disneyland on that
one.
Okay, we're one to one.
We're one and one.
So next one, better rides andshows.
Okay.
So here's the show.
Break it down.
Disneyland has the RoyalTheater, which has the
(15:03):
semi-stage plays, which arehilarious.
They're really good.
I've seen Beauty and the Beastand Gosh, what was the other one
I saw there?
Was it Aladdin?
You've seen Aladdin becauseyou've talked about it before.
Have I?
Yeah.
Okay, so it must have beenAladdin that they did in the
semi-stage.
So that they've got the RoyalHall, which is the meet and
(15:24):
greet, and then they have theFantasyland Theater, which has
nothing in it right now.
Disneyland, get your acttogether.
You need some entertainment.
SPEAKER_02 (15:33):
Yeah, their favorite
shows are silent shows with no
actors.
Yeah.
That's their favoriteDisneyland's favorite thing.
SPEAKER_01 (15:39):
All it is a big
seating area right now.
So Disney World, Mickey's FillHard Magic, and I'm skipping
over one.
I'm going to go back to it.
So Mickey's Fillhar Magic, and Iincluded meet and greets with
this too.
There's the Mirabelle Meet andGreet.
There's the Meet Ariel at hergrotto.
And Princess Fairy Tale Hall, which right now has Cinderella
(16:02):
and Tiana.
But a lot of times they wouldhave Anastasia and Drizel.
So Cinderella's sisters.
They're fun on and they'rehilarious.
So they're still in that area, but they moved them when I
looked at the map today.
The other thing they have isEnchanted Tales with Belle.
(16:22):
Why haven't I ever done that?
I've gone a half dozen times.
It's a telling of Beauty and theBeast where you go into a room
and they tell the story in theroom.
And it's interactive.
I think Belle is actuallytelling the story.
SPEAKER_02 (16:41):
Didn't know that was
there.
SPEAKER_01 (16:43):
I know.
What's wrong with that?
Because it's so disjointed, andI would totally go see that.
Gotta go to Disney World.
Yeah.
Darn it.
I guess I gotta go back.
Of course, shows and meet andgreets and all that definitely
goes to Disney World.
They've got a couple ofcharacter meet and greets at
Disneyland, but for the mostpart, shows Disneyland just
(17:04):
falls on their face.
SPEAKER_02 (17:05):
Oh, totally.
Disneyland's better with thecharacters walking around,
though.
You can go into Fantasyland andsee characters all the time.
Yeah, Princesses walking by, MadHatter, yeah.
Tigger, Pooh, Piglet.
You can see all these charactersconstantly.
Well, that's not a fantasy land.
That Tigger and Pooh.
I would just get excited aboutTigger.
(17:26):
It's part of Disneylandtogether.
So at Disneyland, you're gonnasee the whole resort, you're
gonna see a lot more characterswalking around.
SPEAKER_01 (17:34):
There is Tigger and
Pooh meet and greet as
Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom.
Yeah, it's in Magic Kingdomoutside the Winnie the Pooh
ride.
And it's outside the Winnie thePooh ride over Disneyland.
At Disneyland, way over.
SPEAKER_02 (17:46):
But it's crittering
land.
SPEAKER_01 (17:48):
Yeah, totally
different.
So rides, Disneyland has thecastle walkthrough.
Have you ever done that?
Oh, I do it quite often.
Okay.
I love walking through Disney.
I think I've only done it once.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
And I had I think I went two, three years and didn't even know
it existed.
And then my cousin, well, let'sgo.
(18:10):
Huh?
What are you talking about?
I had no idea.
SPEAKER_02 (18:13):
I always just walk.
If it's a busy time of the dayfor everybody else, I'll walk
through.
I'm one of the only people inthere.
If you're the only one in there.
There's never a lot of peoplewalking through.
Yeah, that's true.
Same with the treehouse.
I'll just walk up it real quick.
Check out the view.
Look around.
SPEAKER_01 (18:27):
So you got Castle
Walkthrough, Snow White's
Enchanted Wish, Pinocchio'sDaring Journey, Casey Jr.
Circus Train, Storybook CanalBoats, King Arthur's Carousel,
Peter Pan, Mr.
Toad's Wild Ride, Mad Tea Party,Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo the
Flying Elephant, Small World,Matterhorn, and that's all of
them at Disneyland.
SPEAKER_02 (18:48):
It's a lot.
SPEAKER_01 (18:49):
Magic Kingdom has
Seven Dwarves Mind Train, Many
Adventures of Winnie the Pooh,Mad Tea Party, Prince Charming
Regal Carousel, Peter Pan, SmallWorld, and I included Under the
Sea Journey of the LittleMermaid, even though it again it
doesn't feel like it's part ofits Matterhorn.
Right.
It is, but it doesn't feel likeit.
(19:10):
And I put Dumbo question mark, but Dumbo just isn't part of it.
It's in that other little area.
I think Disneyland wins this.
SPEAKER_02 (19:20):
It's not even close.
Yeah.
Look at the classic rides youhave.
Plus, you have Matterhorn,right?
Yeah.
And the only thing Disney Worldhas going for it is it has Seven
Doors Mind Train.
Yeah.
This that kind of sets it apart.
But that's the argument betweenMatterhorn and Seven Doors Mind
Train you'd have to have, right?
This is true.
Because they're totallydifferent rides.
(19:41):
Matterhorn's more jerky around.
SPEAKER_01 (19:44):
Although we wrote it
and it was smoother.
SPEAKER_02 (19:47):
It was a little
smoother.
SPEAKER_01 (19:49):
It is smooth.
But it's not quite as bad.
SPEAKER_02 (19:51):
No, it's not as dumb
as Space Mountain in Magic
Kingdom.
SPEAKER_01 (19:54):
No.
That one, yeah, that one'spretty scary.
SPEAKER_02 (19:57):
Back still hurts.
SPEAKER_01 (19:58):
I love that ride.
SPEAKER_02 (19:59):
I know you because
it's terrifying.
I'm like in the minor all thepeople we know, I'm in the
minority.
Yeah.
I can't believe Eli and Addy.
They both like it?
Better than the Space Mountainin Disneyland.
SPEAKER_01 (20:10):
Yeah.
I think if you get used to theway it drops and all that,
you'll like it more.
SPEAKER_03 (20:17):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (20:17):
You might not like
it more than Disneyland, but
you'll like it more.
Disneyland's.
Yeah.
So anyway, yeah, Disneyland hasthe rides on that one too.
Big time.
SPEAKER_02 (20:28):
I've been looking at
I'm looking.
That's it for it's Seven DoorsMind Train.
And oh, let's talk Peter Panreal quick.
Peter Pan.
Because they are a littledifferent, but honestly, I
couldn't tell you thedifference.
Let's talk about it real quick.
So it's newer looking at MagicKingdom.
Yeah.
Right?
Yeah.
I mean, the cars are bigger.
It's more iconic.
(20:48):
Are they?
I think they are.
I think they're a little wider.
I think they're wider.
Oh, okay.
It's got a better cue at MagicKingdom.
Q at Magic Kingdom's better.
There's a lightning lane atMagic Kingdom for Peter Pan.
Yes.
There's not in Disneyland.
Yeah.
Which that's a major minus forhow busy it is.
Yeah.
If you're just a person thatwants to ride it once in a
while, it's such a long line allthe time in Disneyland.
(21:11):
And there's no way to shortride.
SPEAKER_01 (21:14):
There's no way to
add a lightning lane there.
SPEAKER_02 (21:16):
Well, there's such a
short ride, though.
Yeah.
Three minutes and like 20seconds.
No, it's so short.
It's not worth it half the timeto go unless you hit the right
time.
Yeah.
I would take the Disneyland rideall day because it's but the
Disney World ride has lightninglane, a better queue, and they
do that little sprinkly thing.
SPEAKER_01 (21:34):
Yeah, they pixie
dust you.
And I don't know why they don'tdo that at Disneyland.
That's a that's kind of oddbecause I thought that was a
good looking thing.
That was cool to have thempixie.
SPEAKER_02 (21:44):
And they're on the
money with their timing.
And so they're pixie dusting youfor real.
Never mind.
I should have said, don't ruinthe magic.
SPEAKER_01 (21:53):
So here's a big plus
I would say for Magic Kingdom
for the rides that are in MagicKingdom's Fantasyland.
So granted, Seven Doors MineTrain, great cue.
Many Adventures of Wendy thePooh has a great cue.
Especially when you compare themto the Disneyland version or
Under the Sea Journey of theLittle Mermaid to the DCA
(22:16):
version.
It has a much better cue atDisney World.
I don't know, Small World, itdoesn't matter.
I don't think actually eitherone has a I think they're both
the same queue, and that sucksanyway.
They have all those padded roomson the queue where you can beat
your head against it.
So really the only way thatMagic Kingdom Fantasyland for
(22:40):
rides is even in the discussionis because of those cues.
It's the cues that kind of makethose rides.
SPEAKER_02 (22:46):
Yeah, Peter Pan is
still a good ride.
Yeah.
But if they had a better queueand a lightning lane at
Disneyland, because the becauseit's an iconic ride, yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (22:55):
It would be it'd be
way better.
SPEAKER_02 (22:57):
It wouldn't be even
a question, right?
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (22:59):
Rides way better,
Disneyland.
But better rides.
Because it just it's thatnostalgia.
SPEAKER_02 (23:04):
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (23:05):
I like hitting all
those rides in the morning if
you have early entry and well, but you don't anymore after
2026.
But yeah, it's just you can runthrough and do those really
quick.
SPEAKER_03 (23:18):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (23:18):
Which we didn't do.
I don't even.
What did we do for rope drop?
Last week we free-flowed ourrope drops.
SPEAKER_02 (23:25):
We didn't really
make a plan.
We didn't say we're gonna go hitSpace Mountain right away and
just do in the hit Matterhornfirst thing.
We had one day at Disneyland, yeah.
We did Indiana Jones Jones, which worked out perfect because
everyone in line, most of thepeople there were going straight
to Rise.
Rise passed right by it and thenwe did Haunted Mansion.
(23:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That worked out perfect.
Yeah, and for DC for DCA, youcan rope drop whatever you want.
Yeah, it really doesn't matter.
Yeah, especially when cars isclosed.
It's only the guardians we werewe were we rope dropped
guardians, didn't we?
Did we?
SPEAKER_01 (24:01):
Guardians, and then
we did over Toy Story Mania,
which I think was closed likeone of the mornings.
Yeah, we just rope dropwhatever.
We were taking it easy on that.
SPEAKER_02 (24:12):
Yeah, here's our
plan tomorrow.
SPEAKER_01 (24:14):
And I think when I
go with people, I'm not as
hardcore about rope dropping.
I think going with you, we bothjust kind of hit the laid back
button.
It was the whole point wasenjoying the trip.
SPEAKER_02 (24:26):
We've done this
enough, together now.
Yeah, that we know that we'regonna do everything we want to.
Yeah, it's all gonna work out.
It doesn't matter in three dayswhat time we leave the hotel,
what time we want to go back tothe hotel.
Yeah, if we want to dosomething, whatever.
We're getting it all done.
Yeah, we're gonna do whatever wewant to.
If we there's certain things wewant to do, like I wanted to hit
those Halloween things.
Yeah, but that's two things, andthen the Walt thing, that's
(24:48):
three things, yeah.
That was new to us.
That was it.
Whatever else happens, yeah.
Like I only we only rode Mickeyand Mini one.
Mickey and Minnie's right.
Yeah, that was that's a bummerto me.
Yeah, that was and I'm trying tothink of why it's because we had
one day at Disneyland we startedat, and when we went over then I
had the lightning lane, Icouldn't use it cancelled it
(25:08):
out, it just didn't work out.
We just had to go to Toontown.
That's the only time we went toToontown.
SPEAKER_01 (25:13):
Yeah, and we ended
up doing Roger Rabbit.
Roger Rabbit same.
We didn't do the gadgetChippendale's gadget coaster.
That's usually two.
SPEAKER_02 (25:21):
That's another one
like Peter Pan.
It's a long line for nothing.
SPEAKER_01 (25:25):
Okay, so this is
what I don't get.
They always say it's like 25minutes.
Whenever I get in line, it'sfive.
I've been in line for a while.
Okay, me, Christy Eagle gotstuck in it.
Oh, see, now that's not worthgetting stuck in.
No, because it's hot.
Because it's five or tenminutes, Max.
SPEAKER_02 (25:40):
Yeah, it's a yeah,
we got it's said and there was
no time, and we end up gettingstuck right in the middle.
Whatever.
SPEAKER_01 (25:46):
So, shopping.
I mean, like I said, they bothhave Bippity Bopity boutique.
Yeah, where we are notaficionados of that place.
But the Mad Hatter store.
Love it.
That's a good one.
Right in that little alcove, butoverall, there's just not really
a whole lot of shopping, andit's uh to me, it's about equal.
(26:09):
Yeah.
And because I think MagicKingdom had something that I it
was one of the few places I likegoing into.
Okay.
SPEAKER_03 (26:17):
Yeah, because you're
on shop.
SPEAKER_01 (26:19):
Yeah, I'm not a
shopper, and so the Mad Hatter
store, I like walking throughthat because I like looking at
all the hats and the ears.
I think they sell ears there aswell.
SPEAKER_02 (26:27):
They don't have a
ride with a store at the end.
When they built Fantasyland, Idon't think it was a shopping
forward thought process.
When in the Pooh has a shop atthe end.
Right.
Some of those rides when youleave Star Tours, you're in a
store.
Yeah.
When you leave Guardians, you'rein a store.
So I don't think they thought ofthat when they built the place.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (26:52):
Let's hit these
suckers up for some cash right
after they get rid of it.
Right after they got the ride.
Ooh, I like that.
Let's buy a QB.
So overall, what do you think?
Who has the better?
SPEAKER_02 (27:03):
Oh, it's it's I
don't think this is a
discussion.
SPEAKER_01 (27:06):
Not really.
No, this is a this is a slamdunk.
Because the food's not to meisn't that important.
And while I wish there were moreshows, which is Magic Kingdom
won for what did they win?
Shows, and they won Eats.
Eats.
Yeah.
But the Eats doesn't bother mebecause there's so much other
better stuff at Disneylandanyway.
(27:28):
I wouldn't eat there, even ifthey probably had a couple more
places.
Yeah, yeah.
The layout is a biggie.
Yeah, layout is.
SPEAKER_02 (27:35):
I think that's the
layout, Disneyland beat them big
time and rides.
SPEAKER_01 (27:39):
And rides.
SPEAKER_02 (27:40):
I mean Mr.
Toad.
That's it.
Right.
They took out Mr.
Toad from Disney World.
SPEAKER_00 (27:44):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (27:44):
You can still ride
that.
I mean, it's the only place inthe world you can go to hell at
a Disneyland park.
SPEAKER_01 (27:52):
Yeah.
Although you can, what was it?
Pinocchio's Daring Journey.
You can hear them referring tolittle kids as a bunch of little
jackasses.
So that's entertaining for a kidride.
But anyway, they can't competewith Disneyland.
They didn't even try with thelayout.
(28:12):
There's no way that they couldread it.
SPEAKER_02 (28:14):
Well, and you don't
no one would want them to.
SPEAKER_01 (28:16):
No.
SPEAKER_02 (28:16):
There's such a small
percentage.
And I'm in the camp, I'm toyingin the camp of changing things.
And I gotta improving things, but I don't think you should
change that little area offantasy land ever.
That should always look justlike that.
SPEAKER_01 (28:28):
And I think the core
area, outside of that, I mean
it's the core area, and you havethat down by Maurice's treats in
the Royal Theater.
You have that little pocket downthere, and then you have that
big area that incorporatesfantasy theater, small world,
all that.
But like that core area is sogood.
SPEAKER_02 (28:50):
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (28:51):
With everything,
just the buildings and you can't
change that.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (28:56):
You'd have to add
something else to do.
SPEAKER_01 (28:58):
Well, I mean, you
couldn't recreate that at Disney
World.
It would be too hard because ofthe way that's laid out.
It's just a big long strip.
And yeah, it's just you can'trecreate it now.
Yeah.
That had to be something youtalked about in the beginning.
Yeah, just the way it's all laidout.
So Disneyland's better.
Oh.
SPEAKER_02 (29:16):
Now Disneyland's
always better.
SPEAKER_01 (29:17):
And it's great.
Now, but would you say that theMagic Kingdom Fantasyland, would
you give it a thumbs up or athumbs down?
Oh well, I like it.
Fine.
Yeah.
It's part of Magic Kingdom.
SPEAKER_02 (29:29):
And it's hard to not
compare.
No, you have to compare the two.
And I don't remember.
I wish I remembered theFantasyland.
Is there a fantasy land,Shanghai Disney?
I don't know.
I went there once and I don'tremember.
I should have done some researchon it.
Before this.
I have the app every yeah.
That's pretty sad.
(29:49):
I'm sad too.
I'm just as sad as you.
SPEAKER_01 (29:51):
I think there's
enough to say that it's fantasy
land, because I'm still hittingfantasy land and Disney.
SPEAKER_02 (29:57):
Oh, I'm gonna I'm
gonna do Seven Dwarves.
SPEAKER_01 (29:59):
Yeah.
A bite to eat.
I'm going to Gaston's town.
SPEAKER_02 (30:03):
They'll probably
have an average or to blow
average coffee there somewhere.
SPEAKER_01 (30:07):
Yeah.
And I'm going to ride all therides because of the cues.
SPEAKER_02 (30:10):
And it has Mickey's
Fillhar Magic.
SPEAKER_01 (30:12):
Yes.
But I'm going to go because ofthe Qs.
The Qs will suck me into all ofthose.
Much better cue at Mickey'sFillhar Magic, even than the
it's a big waiting room at DCAwhere it's an actual line, and
then there's a small littlewaiting room there at the end.
But better cues.
Because there's stuff to see asyou're walking into Mickey's
(30:35):
Fillharm Magic.
Whereas the other one, you'renot really looking at stuff.
You're just going and waiting inthat room till those doors open
at DCA.
Better cues.
And the cues are what are gonnadraw me into that land.
The rides are good, but I reallywant to just walk through those
cues.
SPEAKER_02 (30:52):
Yeah, I think just
the ambiance takes me into the
land too.
Just to be there in fantasyland.
Every time I walk through, itfeels like Disney.
It feels like Disney.
It feels like I'm a kid againevery time I go in.
SPEAKER_01 (31:04):
Exactly.
So yeah, totally.
And if only they'd let us walkaround with handsome brutes.
I know.
Sipping on our cocktails.
SPEAKER_02 (31:12):
Yeah, so neither one
you can do that.
There's no cocktail bettercocktails list.
You can there's no way to drinka cocktail at Disneyland's Fancy
Land in any way.
No.
But there's two places at DisneyWorld with BR Ghast.
And Cinderella's table.
Right.
So there you go.
(31:33):
Handsome brute.
Pretty good.
SPEAKER_01 (31:35):
Yep.
We're gonna finish this rightnow.
But until next time, cheers.
Cheers.
