Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome to
Cheers to Ears, where today
we're taking a trip to SanFransokyo for the drink At
Disney's California Adventure.
At Rita's Turbine Blenderswe're having the Rita's Grand
Margarita on the rocks.
And check out all theseingredients Aaron Gold, tequila
and a splash of orange liqueurfor $17.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
How did we do this?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
We did.
It has two ounces of JoseCuerva Reposado tequila, a
splash of Cointreau, it mighthave like an ounce, and then I
did put in some lime, fresh limejuice, because you kind of have
to, I think.
I think it's delicious.
So theirs, I believe, is just amix, yeah, and then they're
(00:43):
just blended.
Of course it is, ours is on therocks, ours is a little
different, but a margarita forthe most part is a margarita.
You know, the quality goes upwhen the cost of the ingredients
goes up.
Oh weird.
So the signature Breezy Marghad expensive tequila, cointreau
(01:03):
and all that, and it was a verygood margarita, even though I
don't think we use expensivetequila at all.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
We probably did.
We're pretty classy, sure.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Sure, whatever you
want to tell yourself.
So, but this one, it's a goodmargarita.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's good, it's good.
We're really delving in theworld of margaritas lately.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, well, that was
when we were coming up with
these drink ideas.
I realized we'd only done onemargarita in a year, right,
unacceptable.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Uh-huh, that's
actually a little tart, it is
once in a while when you getthat right lime.
Yeah, I think I got a littlepiece of lime there yeah, it's
very good though yes, very goodwe're having on the rocks today
on a hot day sitting out in sanfrancisco, I think it'd be
pretty good.
Yeah, or anywhere else incalifornia it does get pretty
(01:56):
hot down there in san franciscowith all the people.
It's so crowded.
Yeah, it is.
It's just a food haven downthere.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
They have 9,000
tables and they're always all
full Right, except for one, right, yeah, because there's
zero rides.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
all restaurants, it's
just yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
So why are we at San
Fransokyo?
Well, let me tell you, Aaron.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Okay, today we're
discussing Disney hero bars.
So if Disney heroes opened abar, what would it look like?
What would the name be, whatwould the decor look like and
what kind of drinks would theyserve?
Speaker 2 (02:33):
most importantly, oh
yeah, now one thing, because,
again, we don't discuss thisbeforehand, as we say every week
, although I did send you mylist so that we didn't do two.
Right, we didn't overlap.
Did you pick where your these?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
bars would be at, not
at all okay, I did okay.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
No, it came to me
like I think, after, after we
had chatted okay, no, I justhave bars.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, they could be
anywhere.
They could be anywhere in thepark or anywhere.
They could even be in theirfantasy world of their fictional
movies.
Oh, okay, it could be anywhere, right, but it'd be cooler if it
was in Fantasyland.
Yeah, that'd be a lot coolerright Mine are Some of them.
Yeah, anyway, there we are.
(03:24):
So that's the only differencewe have, then, because, yeah, we
have everything else.
Eight bars apiece, eight barsapiece, eight heroes apiece, and
here we go.
What's your first one Go?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
The Agrabah Oasis.
It's inspired by Aladdin, okay, the hero of that story.
It's in the Morocco Pavilion.
They have all kinds of wastedspace.
They might as well put a bar inthere.
So the featured drinks are theMagic Carpet Mule, which has
spiced fig, vodka, ginger beer, lime and mint.
(03:55):
The Cave of Wonders,old-fashioned date-infused
bourbon, bitters and orange, andthe Sultan Sunset blood, orange
liqueur, hibiscus syrup andprosecco.
Okay, so I think mine mostlyhave.
I have three drinks per featuredrinks and you know they're
always going to have a littleextra this and that, and beers
(04:16):
and whatnot yeah, I went exactlythrough drinks with all mine,
okay so the theming elementsit's's going to be Moroccan.
You know the lighting and theseating.
You know you're going to be oncushions on the floor for the
most part, if you want.
There are some that are morebench style because not
everybody's going to want to geton the floor.
(04:36):
But the cool thing about thisparticular bar is during the day
it has an open-air market vibeto it.
Oh, okay, so a little morehustle-bustle, noise, things
like that.
And at night it kind oftransforms.
So it's open like during themiddle of the day, from lunch to
(05:00):
about 4.
But then it transforms, thelighting transforms and they
kind of have it all set up as adecor.
So in the evening it's morelike a lavish palace, like
Arabian Nights yeah, arabianNights, I like that.
It has a different feel.
So it gets people coming backduring the day when they want to
(05:23):
do the open-air market and geta drink, all of that.
And you know, maybe there'ssome hawker stalls going on,
things like that of that sort.
But at night it's just a chill, lavish palace seating and you
know that's cool.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
There's no hookah
bars, but they wish they could
be it would be cool if you had atransformation show in between,
where the Song Arabian Nightsplayed and the whole place
transformed into the nighttime.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
That would be cool,
or people who were waiting could
see it.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah Right, that
would be the optimal time to get
a table in between the two Inbetween the two Right when it
changes yeah.
You could have it table inbetween the two, in between the
right when it changes.
Yeah, you can have a like rightin between so you have a
special, like a special eventkind of thing, yeah, where you
pay a special price to get induring that time and it lets you
it lets you see, thetransformation, the
(06:18):
transformation.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, that's a good
idea.
So I don't have any like Ididn't include any food or bites
to eat or anything like that.
I did not anywhere.
It's mostly about the drinks.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, there's bites
everywhere.
There's snack food ever.
All these places have bar typefood that would go with some of
the drinks.
Yeah, so that's my first one.
Okay, wait, how about your?
Oh, you already said the drinks.
Yes, everything.
So you're done, I'm done.
Okay, now you get my first, yours.
My first is Prince Philip fromSleeping Beauty.
Okay, okay, it's called theEnchanted Draught.
(06:48):
Okay, and it has a castleambiance, with art depicting the
epic battle with Maleficent andrandom woodland animals
delivering snacks.
Okay, okay, my drinks are theDragon Breath IPA oh, it's a
slightly smoky ale.
(07:09):
Mmm, sounds good.
The Kiss of True Love it's agin cocktail With a mist of
fairy dust.
Just misted on top.
Just misted, right the SpindleShot An espresso vodka drink
that will never put you to sleep.
Just missed it on top.
Just missed it.
Right the Spindle Shot Anespresso vodka drink that will
(07:31):
never put you to sleep.
Okay, okay, and the Once Upon aWine.
It's a village red wine agedsince the beginning, since the
breaking of the curse.
The last one is the Once Upon aWine.
It's a vintage red wine agedsince the breaking of the curse.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Oh, that's a long
time.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Sure it hasn't turned
into vinegar.
Let's hope not, for the pricesthey're charging, right, okay,
so that's my first one.
My second one, the Pride RockLounge, inspired by Simba from
the Lion King.
Pride Rock Lounge, that's agood name.
It's a Savannah-style open-airlounge at Animal Kingdom Lodge,
jumbo House.
Mm-hmm.
Featured drinks the Circle ofLife Sangria, of course, roibus
(08:13):
tea, red wine, african spicesand fruits.
I like this, but like African.
So star fruit, yeah, stuff youwould find there.
I think star fruit is found inAfrica.
I could be completely wrongthere.
Well, anyway, the Hakuna, mojito, bobab Fruit, puree, mint
and Rum Okay, that actuallysounds pretty good.
(08:36):
And Simba's Sunrise Amarula, mango, nectar and Grenadine.
Okay, so those are my drinksand it fits with just the whole
theme of Animal Kingdom Lodge.
But it's open air, it overlooksthe savanna and at first I was
going to have random breakingout of singing along the songs,
(09:00):
but I thought that would disturbthe animals.
So this is a more quiet, subdued bar.
Of course, the African themingand everything like that, but
the little extra that they haveis they have a storyteller.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
I was just going to
ask if you're going to have a
storytelling.
I was just going to ask that.
That was my follow-up question.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Darn it.
So they have.
Just throughout the nightsomeone will sit there and tell
stories, like traditional folkstories from Africa, or
potentially talking about thedrinks and maybe history of that
, but just a storyteller.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Oh, here's going.
True stories, yes, so I wasthinking fake stories in africa
told by timon and pumba, likereal stories with their little
twist yes right, a timon, timonand pumba twist.
Have you watched the liveaction?
Yes, the new one.
Have you watched the new one?
Yeah, where timon and pumba aretelling the story, but they get
it all wrong.
They get it all wrong they getit all wrong.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Yeah, okay, and I
thought about a little more
hamming it up, but because it'son the Savannah out back there,
I needed everything to staysubdued.
Okay, that's why it's not.
It's just, it's a calm,relaxing atmosphere.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Interesting.
Yeah, so so far, as far asdrinks go, the Pride Rock one is
my favorite one.
That's the one I'm ordering sofar.
Okay, so I'll tell you ifanyone beats it.
Okay, as you go along, I'mgoing to pick my favorite drink
that you tell me.
So that's your second one.
That was my second one.
My second one is called theBellin Hearth.
(10:40):
Okay, the Bellin Hearth it'sQuasim, the bell and hearth it's
quasimodo, from hunchback andnotre dame.
Ah, okay, it has a stainedglass when stained glass windows
and a large bell that rings onthe hour.
Okay, is the main.
It has a like a dungeon vibe,right?
the whole place that's kind ofthe vibe you you can picture it.
Yeah right, my main drinks arethe gargoyle grog.
(11:03):
It's hearty, dark ale withchestnuts and clove.
It's very dark all the wayaround and spicy.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
That just sounds
really interesting.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
It sounds interesting
.
Yeah, the Sanctuary Sangria.
Okay, I thought of a sangriaall the time.
I tried to stay away from themas I kept going I was like, oh,
I have a sangria Because they'reeasy.
Yes, this is red wine withpomegranate, cinnamon and a dash
of orange bitters and the bellringer's brew.
(11:35):
It's just a smooth coffee stout, like a hard stout.
I like that for a dungeon.
I like a stout.
I've been a stout and a porterare just a good.
I like them in the summer andwinter.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
See, and they're
normally like a good winter beer
.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Right, I'm a big
summer porter fan.
Lately I'm a stout.
I'll order them.
Yeah, christy just mentionedthe other day Thank you, christy
that I've been ordering quite afew.
When we go out to eat, I'llorder a stout or a porter.
There's a good one on the menu.
They just taste so good.
They're complex, they have moreof a vibe to them.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
I used to order a lot
of stouts and porters, but
since Widmer got rid of theirsnowplow stout, which was a milk
stout, which was by far thebest stout ever ever created by
man, yeah, I just haven't had itin me to really get into them
(12:35):
like I used to, but occasionallyI still do Okay.
So my third one Are you alldone?
Yep, done Okay?
The Arendelle Ice Bar, inspiredby Elsa from Frozen.
I like the ice bar.
That's good, so of course it'sthe Norway Pavilion in Epcot.
Feature drinks the Let it Glow, vodka, blue curacao, edible
(12:56):
glitter and dry ice.
So it'll create that I likethat.
Yeah, it's a good drink.
Okay, so I wanted to includethe numbing buttons from yes.
And I can't remember the nameof them.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
now we talk about
them all the time too, because
we've got to order them.
We haven't done it.
We want to try it.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
It's a flower, but I
wanted to include that so that
your lips go numb while drinkingsomething, because I thought
that would be appropriate.
But I couldn't really fit it inany of these drinks Olaf's
Colada, coconut cream, pineapple, vanilla, vodka, snowflake
garnish Okay, the Frozen Heart, martini, pomegranate liqueur,
vodka, crystal, sugar rim.
And I did throw a fourth one inhere, marshmallow, because I
(13:36):
wanted marshmallow to have oneto have a drink after him.
So the marshmallow brandy sour,so brandy being a drink that
warms you up.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I wanted a
brandy-based drink.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah, brandy, lemon
juice, simple syrup and
Angostura bitters is how that'smade.
Now, of course, it's all bluelight, ice-looking ice.
You know icicles, things likethat.
Your chairs look like an icethrone.
I like that.
That you sit on.
But what's really cool aboutthis bar is, every once in a
(14:08):
while, you know how the Frozenshow, the Frozen sing-along, the
snow falls at the end.
Every once in a while, thatsnow starts falling from the
ceiling.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
This is a good bar.
It costs a lot to run it.
Yes, I mean you're, yeah,you're.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Just every once in a
while you get snow flurries as
you're sitting there having yourdrink.
Yeah, that's a good idea, butthat's that's that.
The Arendelle Ice Bar.
I like the ice bar.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
And of course there
would be ice wines available
there?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Oh yeah, they would
just have to be.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah, is it like a
selection where?
Speaker 2 (14:40):
you can like pour
your own.
Oh, I didn't even think aboutthat.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
An ice wine bar.
You know you used to have thosethings where you put you had
like credits.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Yes, and it would do
like a one ounce or a two ounce.
Yeah, you get as much as youwanted.
It could go for something likethat.
Sorry, I ask a lot of follow-upquestions out here Because
you're like, oh, I want to gothere, right, it doesn't have
that, yeah, does it have that?
Yeah, it doesn't exist, aaron,it's not real.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
It is.
If I find it, no matter howmuch you want, how do you know?
You haven't looked for it.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yet these are we're
going to.
This is the one danger of thisepisode that I thought.
We're going to come up withbars and we're going to be like,
okay, disney, why don't youhave these bars?
These are great ideas.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Right, like this new
bar, mount Porolympus.
Okay, it's a Hercules bar.
All right, this is a good bar.
It has marble pillars etchedwith images of Hercules.
Okay, it has Pegasus-themed barstools and animated statues
that give you high fives whenyou walk by.
Oh, isn't that cool, very cool, right, and a large neon sign,
(15:47):
huge neon sign that says go thedistance, dot, dot, dot
responsibly.
This is one of my favorite barsbecause of the drinks too.
Yeah, has the hero's highball.
Okay, bourbon, campari, sweetvermouth and a hint of lightning
(16:09):
zest.
Nice, right, the Pegasus Punch.
Okay, it's a blue tropicalcocktail that kicks you like a
flying horse and the Underworld.
Old Fashioned.
This is a really good drink.
I want to try this.
It's a smoky, old Fashionedwith pomegranate bitters and
(16:35):
it's served flaming.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh, Hades style yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Can I get an Old
Fashioned Hades style please?
Speaker 2 (16:44):
I wonder, if they
have, if they could do it with
blue flames.
Oh no, that'd be great.
That would make it perfect forHades.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Let's pour some blue
carousel in a cup and light it
on fire after this yeah, seewhat happens, see if it burns.
Sorry, christy, that is theMount Cor Olympus bar.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Okay, my next one,
the Lost Boys Hideout.
Okay, inspired by Peter Pan,you went Lost Boys with it.
I like that.
Yeah, so it's a treehousespeakeasy.
So it looks like a bigtreehouse but it's kind of the
speakeasy.
Okay, step a feel to it.
I had trouble where to placethis because of course, peter
(17:25):
Pan's ride is in Fantasyland butI already have another bar that
I put into Fantasyland.
Yeah, it didn't quite fitAdventureland.
Well, I thought about not atthe parks at all.
Maybe this one's at CaribbeanBeach Resort.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Oh, a resort, I like
that, yeah.
Or on one of the ships, that.
Or A fake tree in the middle,oh yeah, of a Disney Cruise Line
, I didn't even think about that.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
So anyway, it's got
to be.
It's not in a park, but it'ssomewhere else.
So the featured drinks arePixie Dust Punch, which is guava
, rum, citrus and edible glitter.
Okay, the Tinker Tonic, whichis cucumber, gin, elderflower
tonic and glowing ice cubes.
I like that Hook's Poison smokyscotch, black cherry liqueur
(18:16):
and pepper bitters.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Well, that's my
favorite one so far.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
So you know the
theming elements.
It's all a tree, but theentrance is a sliding tree trunk
.
Oh, that's cool.
So you have to kind of knowwhere to go.
And it looks like a tree trunk, but you have to know how to
find the door there,no-transcript.
(18:46):
But the bartenders here's thecool thing.
Okay, bartenders, half of themare dressed up as the lost boys.
Oh, the other half are dressedup as pirates.
I like that.
And every once in a while theybreak out in a mock sword fight.
Love this as just entertainment.
Yeah, they just kind of go atit and everybody cheers for
their side.
Who they want, because it'swhat it is is half of it is lost
(19:10):
boys, half of it is pirates, and then, like on occasion, they
bump into each other and itstarts a big battle between the
two and it goes on for a coupleminutes as entertainment and
then you go back to drinking andeverybody cheers.
But yeah, the entertainmentfactor of that I love this place
.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
I have zero
follow-ups.
Okay, okay, because I want togo here.
Yes, I want to go to there.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Okay, your next one.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Well, mine is Tarzan,
okay, and it's called the
Jungle Vine Okay, it's a jungletiki bar infusion.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Oh, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
But, like you just
said, mine's built around a
massive tree and that's okay.
When you said that, I thoughtokay, but it has rope bridges
that connect the different partsof the bar.
Oh, that's cool.
Drink at your own risk.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
They would have to
limit the drink.
Can you imagine people fallingoff?
Speaker 1 (20:08):
I was thinking
outside a waiver waiver.
So it's a huge.
It goes up, there's layers.
So my drinks are the Ape Escape.
It's a rum punch Served in acoconut, a hollowed out coconut,
with banana liqueur.
Ooh Okay.
The Tree Top Toddy.
(20:30):
It's a warm, spicy drink Withhoney, citrus and a splash of
whiskey.
Oh okay, ooh, that sounds tasty.
That sounds pretty good,doesn't it?
And the Vine Swinger.
The Vine Swinger is arefreshing cucumber mint drink
served with edible flowers and avine garnish.
I don't know what that evenmeans, a vine garnish.
I thought it was just like partof a vine.
(20:52):
You stick it in the drink.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Yeah, I'm trying to
think of what kind of vines.
I'm really kind of going withthis one, okay, yeah, how to get
a vine in there.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Yeah, it's a vine
garnish, or does it just?
Speaker 2 (21:05):
swirl around the
bottom.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
It probably swirls on
it and you don't like if it has
, if you get one.
So it's many different vines, Iguess.
Yes, right, and you got towatch out because it could be a
thorny vine.
You got to watch out for that, yes, so you don't want to eat
that one?
No, you would not, right, someare edible, some aren't.
You never know.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Who knows?
Tarzan just taking a risk.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Learning with the
monkey.
He flies from tree to tree.
I mean he raised a risk taker.
Monkey dead Right.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
That's my next one.
Monkey dead, not good vine.
We have two more, I have five, six and seven and eight.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
No, we're only
halfway through.
Yeah, we have four more.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Yeah, so mine is the
Baymax Bodega inspired by Big
Hero 6.
So, seeing as how we're in SanFransokyo, this is where it
would go San Fransokyo in DCA.
Okay, so maybe an upstairs barin one of those buildings or
something.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
Like I said earlier,
we need more bars and food in
San Fransokyo.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Maybe a bar that
empties out someplace else, I
don't know.
So the featured drinkshealthcare companion cooler,
which is lychee sake, soda andmint.
Oh, that does not sound good?
No, it doesn't.
No.
Microbot Manhattan Japanesewhiskey, black sesame bitters,
(22:28):
I'd try that that would be.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
That's not my
favorite, though it would.
I'd try that that would be.
That's not my favorite, though.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
It would be
interesting to try.
Yes, and the San Fransokyo sourYuzu, bourbon, egg white and
neon foam, oh, yeah, I'm notgoing there.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
I mean, this isn't my
favorite one.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
No, so this is not
necessarily the drinks, it's the
ambiance type of thing aspectof it.
Okay, tell us about that.
So there are no bartenders, technically, no human bartenders
.
Oh, good one, you're robotbartending it.
So you're sitting at your tableand you say hey Disney or hey
(23:06):
Baymax or whatever it is, and itpops up and you order through
ai and it sends in your orderand then a robot comes out with
your order, opens up anddelivers your drinks so you
don't have a robot bartendersmixing it for you, mixing it for
you up and I well, what it?
what it would be is it's allpre-mix.
It's kind of the problem you'repre-mixing it and so it pours
(23:26):
out your, you know, your ice andyour drink all automated,
automated, that's the wholething.
It's all automated and it's ofcourse it's looking like San
Fransokyo, that type of bar andstuff.
The catch is is it's the.
There's no humans, it's allautomated AI, san Fransokyo
style.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Yeah, so this makes
me want to watch Big Hero 6
again.
Is what you just did, yeah, yeah, so this makes me want to
watch Big Hero 6 again.
Is what you just did.
Yeah, just talking about it,because it's such an underrated
movie in my opinion.
Yes, it's very, very, very, very good.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
It took me a long
time to actually get around to
watching it.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
And it's just not
talked about like it's very,
very, very, very good.
You know what I mean.
No, I love this one.
Okay, my next one.
Now, it's kind of you'd thinkit's the easy route going with
Tiana, right, because she's afoodie anyway.
Yeah Right, sounding easy.
New Orleans, yeah Right.
But I'm a big fan of some ofthe celebrity chefs I used to
(24:23):
watch on Food Network when I wasyounger.
I like Emeril O'Keefe, but myfavorite was Bobby Flay.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Really, I love Bobby
Flay.
Oh, he was the one I liked theleast, really.
In fact, his show beat BobbyFlay.
Yeah, that's later.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Bobby Flay.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
But see that I was
like I'm up for that because I
wanted them to beat Bobby Flay, like literally beat him because
he was so annoying.
Oh, I don't find him annoyingat all.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
I love the way he
cooks.
I love his restaurants.
I've been to a few of them.
Yeah, just delicious food, oh,I'm sure it is just great.
So he has a lot of like by bob, like mesa grills his main, okay
, his main thing in arizona, right, great food, oh, great
place.
But he has other like burgersby bobby flay, uh-huh, right,
stuff like that, right.
So that's what inspired me withkiana.
So this is called bayou andbourbon.
The whole name of it is bayouand bourbon, a bar by beat by
tiana that's the name of itright, so she's already a
(25:18):
celebrity chef.
Okay, this is her celebrity bar,her celebrity bayou and bourbon
, a bar by tiana.
Right, so it's the heart of thefrench quarter.
Okay, this place has a locationactually.
Yes, with the best music allday long.
Yeah, it's always playing greatmusic, all different artists,
all different genres.
It's not just jazz, just alldifferent stuff in there.
(25:40):
It's all great stuff.
It's just people stop by.
They're going to play inLouisiana sometime, and it could
be any artist that just pops inthere and and plays yeah.
I like that All day long.
It's an upscale southerncocktail bar meets a jazzy
speakeasy.
Nice, this is a good place.
Yeah, her main drinks are theBayou Belle Okay, it's bourbon
(26:04):
peach and sweet tea served in ahighball with a mint sprig.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Okay, I would really
like that.
Okay, this bar actually soundslike my favorite bar of all of
them that we've mentioned.
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
It's my kind of bar
too, because you know my
Southern food.
Yeah, yeah, I love, loveSouthern food.
The Shadow Manhattan.
Okay, it's a dark cherry ryeOoh, kind of like the cherry
bourbon we had, yeah, but it's arye right With a dash of
absinthe.
Okay, just boom right.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Yeah, it's like
old-fashioned kind of Okay, okay
, I'm picking up what you'relaying down.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
And then a dessert
drink the beignet teeny.
Okay, this is a dessertcocktail.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
With Tini.
Okay, this is a dessertcocktail.
Yeah, with vanilla vodka, right, vanilla vodka cream liqueur
and a powdered sugar rim.
Ooh, those are my drinks.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
Now can you get
follow-up question?
Can you get beignets there?
Speaker 1 (27:02):
That would have to be
one of the snacks you have.
I mean, I almost did that, butI didn't want to go into food.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Yeah, because then
you just it's a rabbit trail.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Right, I could see
beignets.
I could see some like candypecans, like warm candy pecans.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, served at your
table.
I could see like muffalettasliders.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Yeah For heavier food
.
I was eating snacks just tohave like hand snacks to have
with your beverage yeah, butsliders, yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
You get a couple of
them.
Sliders would be good yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
But maybe mini
beignets, yes, right, like half
the size, bite-sized beignets, right, you get like five of them
at a time and they're served toyour table.
You just snack on them asyou're drinking.
Nice, all just like handheldbite-sized things.
All just like handheldbite-sized things.
I'm there.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Yeah, I'm there, and
of course it's got to either be
at Riverside or French Quarter.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
I like it there too,
That'd be great, wouldn't it
Either or?
Wouldn't it be great at aresort.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Yeah, yeah, I mean,
it has to be there.
If you had one also atDisneyland, of course, in the
French Quarter.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
It would have to be
next to her, yeah, or down that
little street by when all thejewelry and crystal and all that
stuff that would be cool, justkind of tucked away, tucked away
in there.
I like tucked away.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Yeah, well, because
if it's almost like a speakeasy
type of thing, yeah, that typeof feel, hey, good, oh, I like
that one, nice, that one.
I'm thinking about that one.
My next one, the SnugglyDuckling Underground, oh,
inspired by Flynn Rider.
So this is a basement bar, okay, so I had it in the fantasy
(28:44):
lands of both Disneyland andMagic Kingdom.
It's a franchise, yeah, it's afranchise.
It's one that actually makesboth, but it has to be
underground and you go down allthe before I get into the drinks
.
Now it's like treasure maps onthe wall and you know it's, it's
(29:04):
feeling, I don't know medieval, like that movie, like
Fantasyland, but booths that arekind of contained so that when
you're making your plans, yourschemes, other people can't hear
you, right, yeah?
Speaker 1 (29:20):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
So it's just very
kind of secluded seating where
it's not all open and it'sreally loud.
It's just one of those wherehushed tones, you know, that's
the whole vibe.
Is that?
I like that, that Like scheming?
Yes, so the drinks, the smolder?
Oh, because he has a smolder.
(29:41):
Look, he does, he gives.
Yes.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
We just both for
those who are listening.
We both just gave the exactsmolder look.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Look at each other,
which had no effect.
Thank you, christy.
So smoked mezcal, amaro, bloodorange and fire roasted cinnamon
.
Ooh yeah, that's a good drink,and then it's served.
Now, if you order this one, solike when you order the back
scratcher, you get a backscratcher, this one gets a
(30:11):
singed treasure map coaster.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Yeah, that that comes
with that particular drink.
Oh, that's cool.
So the stolen crown cider, spiced apple cider, bourbon,
gold luster dust and clove foam, and it's topped with a gold
edible coin.
And the wanted rider, theWanted Rider, ry-der.
So rye whiskey, black tea syrup, lemon peel with an absinthe
(30:38):
rinse, oh nice, yeah.
So Wanted posters, of course,up all around as well, and all
of that, yeah.
So I think I've got this onehad a lot, lot of.
I put a lot of other notes inthere, but it's.
It's gonna have some music likemandolins and things like that,
but all of it is geared towardsdrowning out your voices so
(31:01):
that your plans are not heard.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, all about
scheming, scheming, seclusions
yeah, like that.
Good time, it's a good bar.
Good drinks too.
Yeah, I like this.
My next one is stitch.
I thought I would take the okay, recent curve of stitch, the
live action, which I stillhaven't gotten to see.
Thank you, eli, I could.
(31:25):
This is simply ohana the bar.
Okay, because Ohana meansfamily.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Yeah, right, even
though they already have an
Ohana.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
It's not the bar, not
the bar.
They have an Ohana's, they do.
It's an intergalactic tiki bar,oh, oh.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
A fusion bar yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yes, this is a pretty
cool bar, nice.
The walls are covered insurfboards and graffiti, with
lava lamps, laser lights andglow-in-the-dark menus Cool,
very cool.
Yeah, the main drinks are theBlender Mayhem.
It's a fruity rum slushie withan unpredictable color and
(32:05):
flavor.
Sometimes it contains pop rocks, nice, so you just don't know
what it's going to look like ortaste like.
You just order it.
Nice, the Elvis on the Beach.
The Elvis on the Beach iscoconut whiskey, banana liqueur,
(32:25):
pineapple juice with a bacongarnish.
Okay, okay, and the BadnessLevel 6.
I went Badness instead of whatI was going to put.
It's a very strong drink withblue carousel fireball and a
glowing space cube.
Those are the drinks.
(32:46):
Nice, it's a glowyintergalactic.
They're thinking about openinga second one, actually in space.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Next to like Space
220?
.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Right, yeah, yes,
exactly, that's funny, okay.
Okay, your next one.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Okay, I went a little
old school here.
Okay, the Nautilus Dive Barinspired by 20,000 Leagues Under
the Sea, wow.
So back with our Tomorrowlandepisode, which is our number one
episode for downloads.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Oddly enough.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Thank you everyone,
because we ripped on
Tomorrowland.
How much it sucks.
So my thinking is Tomorrowlandneeds to go and I think I I
mentioned it there more of aretro theming, so, and they have
the like.
I think the, the, the, whateverthe submarine ride there needs
(33:41):
to go away.
But you can replace it with mybar, so it is a, but it would be
a bar that you walk in and itfeels like you're walking into a
submarine, but with steampunkstyling.
Oh, I like that.
So, 20,000 leagues under thesea, steampunk styling, but it
(34:02):
feels like you're walking into asub submarine.
Granted, it would be a very bigsubmarine, but porthole windows
, you know, but porthole windowswith like a fish tank on the
outside.
So all you're looking at islike fish swimming by and
whatnot.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Right.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
So the drinks?
Captain Nemo's Nightcap.
So smoked gin, black tea syrupand lemon peel, the Kraken's
Grasp.
So there would be a lot ofKraken rum used in a lot of
their drinks, I believe.
So dark spice rum, a squid inkcordial, an activated charcoal
(34:38):
salt rim.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Interesting.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Yeah, so the Nautilus
Negronin Campari vermouth gin
and a charred orange slice.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yeah, they also have
the signature drink the diver's
helmet.
It comes out.
It's a bowl that comes outlooking like a diver's helmet.
It's like for two to fourpeople to drink out of.
You know, you can get a smalldiver's helmet or a big diver's
helmet.
Okay, drink out of, you can geta small diver's helmet or a big
diver's helmet Some sort ofcocktail, but it's just a big
(35:14):
one that you share witheverybody.
That's the whole idea is thatit just feels retro,
tomorrowland, the steampunk idea, but it's playing off of
Captain Nemo 20,000 LeaguesUnder under the sea.
I like that.
Yeah, it's interesting.
So, because I want to bring, Ilike old disney ip and I think
(35:38):
they should do more, if theyredid that one, I'd be happy
with it yeah you know they kindof did that with that one with
uh what's his name was in Idon't know where you're
following here.
Oh, I can't even remember thename of the actor, james Bond,
james Bond, the original JamesBond, sean Connery.
(35:59):
He was in it and it had all ofthese, the gentlemen, something.
Oh see, now it's just going todrive me nuts.
I might have to just erase allof this, but it had Captain Nemo
and the Nautilus was in thatmovie, okay.
And it had Alan Quartermain, not the League of Extraordinary
(36:21):
Gentlemen.
Yes, okay, that's what it wasLeague of Extraordinary
Gentlemen.
So he was in that, but anyway,it has to.
Yeah, I like that Tomorrowland, but how they thought it was
going to be and I think that'swhat they should be doing with
Tomorrowland how they thought, because it's really hard to
create a Tomorrowland thatdoesn't age itself out in a few
(36:44):
years, right, that's why theyshould go retro, a retro
Tomorrowland of how they thoughtthe future would look.
Right, and I think a steampunkNautilus bar would be really
cool with that.
That's cool, okay go ahead.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
My next one, which
you said before we did this.
She wasn't an actual hero, butI put Ariel.
Yeah, I chose Ariel.
It's called the Siren Sip, okay, and it has seashell walls.
Right, I see, I'm picturing itSeashell walls, jellyfish,
chandeliers and a splash ofunderwater royalty.
(37:22):
That's what it has.
Okay, that's the ambiance.
The drinks are part of yourworld martini, okay, vodka, blue
carousel and a pearl sugar rim,oh, and then Ursula's Ink, it's
a dark blackberry drink withabsinthe and a shimmer and a
(37:47):
kick, with a shimmer and a kick.
I don't know what that is, justa shimmer and a kick.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
Absinthe and
blackberry Like blackberry
brandy.
Yeah, blackberry brandy, okay,in a martini glass, would it?
Have vodka too.
It could, yeah, Because I mean,if you have, I would think a
martini has to have either vodkaor gin.
In my mind It'd have to be amix, anyway, well, it's in a
(38:14):
martini glass.
It's a cocktail.
It's a cocktail, I suppose.
So it's called Ursula's Ink,okay, as.
I'm messing with your drinkshere, don't mess with my drinks
man.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
So then I went with
the simple Sea Witch Sangria,
okay, which has its ocean.
Blue wine, okay, fresh tropicalfruit and edible starfish
gummies, okay, not my best bar,as I was getting very hungry at
the end of this and I reallywant.
(38:47):
I think six would have been agood good number of bars, but I
added two because you had eightso is this your eighth?
Speaker 2 (38:59):
this is it.
Did you start or did I start?
You don't have one more, I haveone more, you have one more.
Okay, so mine is the AvengingPoor, inspired by the Avengers.
It's a whole group.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Okay.
Oh, that's right, you have agroup too.
Yeah, I did a group alsobecause of you.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
So mine would be at
Hollywood Studios.
It would have to fit insomewhere there, not in avengers
campus.
I mean, you could put it inavengers campus, but there's
already kind of a bar therethere's campus isn't in
hollywood studios no, it's atdca.
Oh, you're so you're saying youcould go dca also.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Yeah, but there's a
great bar there.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
I like that bar yeah,
I think it was tasty, great,
and I don't think you put twobars in one lane, uh-oh.
So that's kind of why, and Icouldn't think of a hotel to put
it in or a resort.
So anyway, the Avenging Pourinspired by the Avengers Feature
drinks the Stark and Stormy.
Oh good one.
Dark rum, ginger beer, ironcitrus foam.
(40:01):
Iron citrus foam I like that.
The Mjolnir Mule,hammer-crushed ice, vodka and
Nordic berries oh, I like thehammer-crushed ice.
And the Super Serum Shot Flight.
Three-layered colorful shootersnamed Cap, widow and Hulk I
like that.
So a blue one, a red one and agreen oh, I'd order that.
Yeah, that'd be popular.
(40:22):
So the theme in, of course, avengers, but the bar counter.
So the bar where they mixeverything would be round and
the edge of it.
If you were to look down on it,it would look like the edge of
Cap's shield.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
So it would be like a
metal bar at the edge of his
shield and then the wallpaperit's comic book panels and
whatnot, but with it almost hasa sports bar feel, but instead
it might show clips of avengersmovies or briefings from nick
(41:01):
fury or Phil you know, comingand giving instructions what
needs to happen next.
I like that Just playingthroughout the day, the coolest
part, and this is what I thinkis going to hook you.
So if you go in with a group ofsix or more and, granted, I
gave three cocktails, they're ofcourse going to have more of
(41:22):
six or more.
Okay, and granted, I gave threecocktails, they're of course
going to have more.
If you come in with a group ofsix or more and you all order a
different cocktail, thebartender, who has like either
mjolnir, the, the hammer ormaybe a shield or something like
it, holds it up and she yellsout avengers.
And everybody at the tableyells out assemble, okay, okay,
(41:47):
because you all have ordereddifferent drinks.
You are the Avengers, avengers,assemble.
You've got all six people, sixdifferent drinks and the table
receives a special, and this isthe only way you can get it a
special pin, a pin, avengers pin.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
I knew you were going
to say a pin.
Yes, for each person.
The table gets to no.
Just one, just one.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
You're going to fight
over it.
So at most you get like twobecause if you have a couple of
drinks or something like that,so but see, one person, like if
we went in a group you wouldprobably get the pin because you
would be the one trying tocorral everybody to get them to
go to do the Avengers Assembleyell for this drink.
But that is the hook of gettinga big group of people to order
(42:32):
different drinks and to be atthis bar Bartender or the
waitress, the waiter yells outAvengers and then the whole
table yells out Assemble andthen you get your drinks and you
get a special pin for it.
That's cool.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
Yeah, that's awesome.
Have you seen the Avengersrestaurant on the cruise lines?
I have not.
It's called the Worlds ofMarvel.
Oh, and it's a restaurant onthe Disney Destiny, the Disney
Treasure and the Disney Wish.
It's kind of an interactiveexperience restaurant.
Oh, okay, it's really cool.
You should look it up.
I will do that now.
(43:08):
Or we could just go on a cruise, or we could go on a cruise.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
Yeah, if I don't
screw it up like I did the last
one.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
Yeah, we could just
go on a cruise on Wish, treasure
and whatever I just said, butwe're going into the three
cruise lines and then we can dothat.
So, last one, my last one, seven Dwarves, seven Dwarves,
because you picked a bunch ofpeople.
Yes, I picked a bunch of peopletoo.
And they're heroes of the story.
They're heroes.
It's called the Gemstone TapMm-hmm.
(43:37):
It's built into a hill withcarved timber and gem-inlaid
decor.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
Okay, I like it, and
the main drinks are the
Mineshaft Stout.
Ooh, that sounds good.
It's a dark, hearty beer withearthy notes and an edible
shimmer.
Is it a beer bar?
Speaker 2 (43:56):
No, it's not a beer
bar.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
It has other stuff
too.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
Okay, but lots of
beer, lots of stouts yes, lots
of stouts and lagers, yeah.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
That makes sense.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
But this beer is
specially brewed by Dopey.
He's the one that put theedible shimmer Onto it.
Yeah, on it.
Okay, yeah, it's the only beerhe's ever brewed.
It's really good, though Highpraises.
Yes, the Hi-Ho Honey Mead.
Oh, okay, it's sweet and strong, served in a miner's mug with a
(44:30):
cinnamon stick.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
Oh, that sounds
interesting.
I might have to order that.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
And then one of the
most popular drinks is the Doc's
Diagnosis.
It's a high-proof herballiqueur, okay Okay With
mysterious forest roots andberries.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
Okay, I could see
that having like elderflower
liqueur.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Yeah, that would be.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
You know, I don't
know if that would go with like
a Campari or Aperol, which is anorange herbal liqueur.
Speaker 1 (45:02):
Right, probably more
of a elderflower.
Elderflower Because it hasflowers.
Yeah, it's got an edible.
Anything he's going to put inthere, it's just whatever the
pick of the day.
Yeah, like in the catch of theday.
Yeah, the doc's pick of the day.
Pick of the day Okay.
Well, there you go.
There of the day.
Speaker 2 (45:21):
Okay Well, there you
go, there's 16 bars that we have
come up with that Disney needsto implement At least two or
three of them.
That's a lot of bars.
We came up with some good ideas.
All right, but until next time, cheers, cheers.
