Step into the spooky side of Disney as we raise our Coney Negronis and dive deep into the most ghoulishly delightful events on both coasts. Having braved torrential Florida downpours at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and researched the increasingly popular Oogie Boogie Bash, we're sharing everything you need to know before booking your Halloween Disney adventure.

Our Mickey's Not-So-Scary experience at Magic Kingdom was unforgettable—even with rain so heavy it created rivers on walkways! We discovered the perfect rainy-night hack: washcloths in shoes to absorb moisture, and the undeniable value of both ponchos AND umbrellas for those notorious sideways Florida storms. Disney made it right with a complimentary Park Hopper pass, proving that even at their spookiest, the parks still deliver on magic.

Dressed as Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc., we experienced firsthand how costumes enhance the celebration. Cast members saluted us, the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor interactive show acknowledged our presence, and we collected enough candy to last months. The late-night advantage can't be overstated—when families with young children depart around 9pm (especially at Disneyland), you might find yourself enjoying multiple consecutive rides on Splash Mountain with no wait!

The Oogie Boogie Bash at California Adventure sounds particularly compelling with its interactive treat trails featuring villains who engage directly with guests, the atmospheric Villain's Grove walkthrough, and the delightfully sinister Frightfully Fun Parade. While the food offerings at both events left something to be desired, the entertainment, character interactions, and dramatically reduced wait times make these events worth every penny of their $119-$199 price tags.

With Oogie Boogie Bash tickets going on sale soon (31 dates starting August 17th this year!), now's the time to decide which coast will host your Disney Halloween adventure. Take our advice: if weather is a concern, California's your best bet—but wherever you celebrate, these parties deliver a frightfully fun experience that regular park days simply can't match. Ready to make your spooky Disney dreams come true? These events sell out fast, so start planning now!

Here's who we are and what is in store for you

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello and welcome to Cheers to Ears, where today
we're drinking a Coney Negronithat sold at one of my favorite
bars I've never been to.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
The.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Abracadabra.
I'm going to attempt to gothere At one of my favorite
hotels.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
I've never stayed at the Boardwalk.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Inn.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
It's potentially my favorite hotel.
I need to stay there to make itmy favorite hotel.
Yes, and see if it actually is,but it gives me the vibes, but
it and the abracadabra doesn'topen till about 4 pm okay, every
day, yeah, and so it's hard togo there if you're going to the
park that day, yeah, or ifyou're just going early and

(00:39):
looking around.
So, like last two times I'vebeen to, boardwalk has been in
the morning we snuck out both ofour days Epcot days.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Right, we could have done that too, but we didn't
think about it.
In the evening we were cruisingin the evening, it was middle
of the day, when it's hot, right.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
We could have left at 4pm, though, and went over
there for a drink real quick andwalked back.
It's so close.
If only we'd known.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, it's so close yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
So it's so close?
Yeah, so it's made withWoodford Reserve, kentucky,
straight Bourbon, campariliqueur, attica Camparo Sweet
Vermouth Okay, is the one theyuse and it's $19.50 at the
Abracadabra.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
A little up there.
Not too bad.
It's Disney like above average.
So we came close.
We did Jim Beam Bourbon.
That's what we had.
We did a shot of that.
We did a shot of aperol, whichis very close to campari, and
although if you're probably atrue alcohol snob, liquor snob,
you probably think I'm an idiotfor saying that yeah, but we're

(01:38):
not buying all the stuff no butwe already had aperol.
That's what we use, and we hadjim beam, that's what we use,
and then some sweet vermouththat you had.
This is a sit at the bar.
Tell the bartender your as yousaid.
Tell the bartender yourproblems drink.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yes, this is.
I had a really bad day.
While the bartender's wipingdown the bar with his white
towel, you say give me a CodyNegroni.
And he says well, how?
Why was your day so bad?
This is very bourbon forward.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, it's very alcoholy, yes, yeah, so I'm not
getting a whole lot of the sweetvermouth or the Campari.
I'm not getting a lot of orange.
This is a long, hard daycocktail.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah, I'm getting the orange on the back end Okay,
Like back of throat kind offeeling the orange flavor.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
But other than that, it's totally alcohol forward.
Yeah, so a typical negroni ismade with gin or vodka instead
of the the bourbon, and I'mcurious to try one of those now,
but that'll be for next time.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yep, for this time we we had bourbon right, and so we
have this from abracadabra andwe're going to talk about a
great topic today.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yes, halloween at disney yes, one that we meant to
talk about after we came backfrom our trip and we never got
around to it.
No, I think we mentioned it afew times we mentioned it recaps
, but we wanted to do a fullepisode on it and now that
tickets are probably going onsale in the next month or two,
we figure now's the time tostart talking about it right, so
you, you can decide if you wantto go or not now.

(03:06):
full disclosure we've never beento oogie boogie bash, correct?
I've been to mickey's not soscary twice at disney world and
once at disneyland, and so I'vegot some comparisons to make.
Their oogie boogie bash soundsawesome, but it's you better get
online and get those ticketsearly, right, because they sell

(03:28):
out really fast yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I would dial all the numbers right now, yes, except
for the last one, and wait for acouple months until it goes on
sale.
Then hit that last number realfast.
Or hit send yeah, yeah, or hitsend Right, because that's how
fast they sell.
Do you do that on your phoneanymore?

Speaker 2 (03:45):
I, because that's how fast they sell.
Do you do that on your phoneanymore?
I think you have to hit send Onyour cell phone.
Do you have to hit send I?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
think you have to hit the call button afterwards when
you type in the number.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Okay, I don't know, it used to be.
You had to hit send.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
The last time I typed a full number in, and now I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I don't know.
I never talked to anybody.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I have all the numbers on my phone.
I call.
Yeah, I just hit the the personand call them.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
The person right.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, Even the Disney numbers.
I call.
It's all on my phone.
Yeah, I say Disney customerservice bloop.
So yeah, so we're talking bothHalloween parties, let's start
off talking about our experiencewith Mickey's Not so Scary.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Now, florida, during Mickey's Not so Scary is, peaks
sweltering with afternoonevening rainstorms and that can
mess things up well, can it,because you know it's going to
happen.
You know it's going to happen, but I mean it can mess things up
as far as shutting down ridesand if parades, parades, a lot

(04:40):
of the activities, right, fireworks, which it did for us
correct.
Now we found a couple places tokind of hide out in a little
bit.
But overall, I mean we have agood attitude about things.
So it was like we knew it was apotential and we just dealt
with it.
We had our ponchos and ourumbrellas.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
And we were good.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Right, we rolled with it, but you know, for some
people it would just ruin theevening and then they go all
karen on a cast member.
Now what was great is on ourway out, they gave us a park one
free day, with park hopper passto disney world because it

(05:22):
rained on us for probably a goodsolid two hours.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Oh yeah, I don't know how many hours we were there,
but most of the time it rained.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
We walked in at four.
The thing started at seven.
Yeah, it was two to three hours.
Yeah, it rained, and I mean atleast half.
That was like the rain where itrained so hard that it doesn't
have anywhere to go, right, because it can't drain away fast
enough, so you're walkingthrough like a river.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Right, and that's why you need a poncho and an
umbrella.
Yes, because the sideways rainis real.
Yes, it'll hit you.
You can't move your umbrellaevery which way as the rain
changes where it's going rightin your face.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
And.
But that's where I think.
That's where I think that'swhere we learned our trick.
Or I shared with you my trickof you roll up a washcloth and
shove it into your shoe at theend of the night and it absorbs
all the excess water.
Yeah, it did.
So, you're good for the nextday?
Yes, so that was kind of ourexperience.

(06:20):
They took care of us, disneytook care of us because it
rained and we had a greatexperience.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
We didn't expect we wouldn't have asked for that.
Yeah, because I had the perfectday anyway I did too.
I loved every second we werethere, because we did Our candy
trails were great.
Yes, we got lots of candy.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
We got lots of candy.
I'm not a big candy guy.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
But we got lots of candy anyway.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I mean you bring it home and it takes a couple of
months to get through all of it.
We dressed up, we dressed up,we did Mike and Sully.
I was of course Sully, you wereMike, it just made sense.
But we went into Monsters IncLaugh Floor and sat down.
They did notice that Mike andSully were walking through the
building.
If you go to the Disney Worldversion, you have to sit down

(07:02):
and just hang out in Mike andSully's Laugh or the Monsters
Inc Laugh Floor, mm-hmm, becausethey comment on everybody.
There's a candy line that goesthrough the front of there,
right, and they comment oneveryone.
And it's pretty funny stuff.
It's pretty funny, it's a lotof funny stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
And the cast members saluted us when we walked in.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Hilarious the bosses were.
We got lots of comments on ouroutfits.
We did, I think we pulled itoff.
We did, didn't know.
We ordered everything on Amazon.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Yep, tried to go blue , mostly just blue and green.
Right yeah, because it was moreDisney bounding than we dressed
up as the actual.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
There was no fur involved on my part, yeah we got
one picture of both of ustogether like a selfie before we
watched the Country BearJamboree.
We were sitting there, butother than that, we were so wet
and soaking, we didn't get agood picture, which we really
wanted, yeah, and then our planwas to take one here afterwards,
and we never did it.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
We never did, no, so we don't have any photos and so,
and I would say part of it waswhen you first walk in,
everybody's hitting.
Especially everybody in acostume is hitting the people
taking pictures, and so we sawthose long lines.
We're like, yeah, well, we'llget to that later and stuff, and

(08:24):
then it just didn't happen.
So one thing we didn't do is atleast with you is we were
walking out like real close tomidnight and they did have the
last villain show at midnight, but we walked out without really
.
We kind of watched it as wewere walking.
But we didn't stand and watchthe whole show.
Now I watched that the firstyear.

(08:45):
That is a great show.
I should watch it.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
So my deal on the shows is all the shows, like I
just did with Oogie Boogie, which we'll talk about.
Youtube's my friend.
Yeah, I don't need to see itlive, live.
Yeah, it doesn't make adifference to blue, right with
the right it's pretty coollooking but I can watch that.

(09:07):
I mean I could get almost thesame experience from youtube.
I think okay to me a parade Ican watch on youtube, like I
watched the mickey's whateverit's called the frightfully fun
parade at oogie boogie.
I watched that today okay yeah,I don't need to see it and I've
seen some stuff on oogie boogie.
I kind of want to go to oogieboogie well, I kind of do it,
kind of sold me on watching.

(09:28):
I watched two differentversions today, okay, different
people, just they weren'ttalking about.
I like the walkthroughs whereno one speaks.
They, just, they just film, ohjust film those are my favorites
there.
I forgot which.
I forgot what youtube channel Ireally like.
I shouldn't have that so I cantell everyone how great it is,
because they're really good.
They just show the park.
They do walkthroughs.

(09:48):
I watch.
Admittedly, I watch about onewalkthrough a week.
Oh yeah, they just walk throughthe park.
I watch each park like Epcotwalkthrough right and they just
go in the morning.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
They walk the entire.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Epcot.
They usually do a couple rides.
They'll show a couple rides onthe walkthrough and they just do
a walkthrough of the whole park.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
See, the only ones I do are Fresh.
Big David walks through, buthe's talking.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, I watch him too , but I like the silent ones,
where I just watch and I createmy own.
I don't know if I've everwatched too many.
I do that too often.
Any of those Chrissy's caughtme a couple times.
I try to do it when no one'saround.
I put the headphones on on theTV.
No judgment zone.
Yeah, no judgment zone.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
I can't have that.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I have enough judgment about my Disney stuff
in my life.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
I don't need any more .

Speaker 1 (10:36):
But Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
last year ranged from $119 to$199 per night, so that's the
average.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
And I think it's a bit more for Disneyland.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
It's not, it's less.
Oh, it's less.
Well, it could be, it could beless.
It's $134 to $189 if you boogielast year.
They haven't announced thisyear's prices yet they just
announced the dates for OogieBoogie Now.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
It sells out almost instantly Oogie Boogie Now.
It sells out almost instantlyOogie.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Boogie does Oogie, boogie Not so.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Scary, does not?
No, we were fine.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
We got tickets way after they went on sale.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
I think we got them in August or something.
Yeah, way after we decided wehad to decide what to do.
Yeah, because we were goingback and forth whether or not we
should do that.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Right and then to make it happen.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Yeah, and then I kind of flubbed it because they also
had.
We went to Magic Kingdom wherewe were kicked out at six.
It worked out well because wewent and met Eli and Addie.
It did work out well.
But and we went two days toMagic Kingdom and we were going
two days to Magic Kingdom anyway.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
We were fine.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Because they let you in a few hours early.
They let you in at four and theparty doesn't start till seven,
right?
So lots of candy.
Now they provide you with a bag.
But I actually, when I went tomakey's not so scary, when it
was at disneyland I brought oneof those drawstring backpacks
and I like that a little morebecause it closed up because my
bag fell over when I went bymyself.

(12:01):
I was on space mountain fellover and the whole bottom of the
car filled with candy and I'mtrying to pick it up real fast
at the end to get out of theride and all the cast members
are looking at me like I'm anidiot.
Yeah, Because I was at thatmoment an idiot for letting my
candy spill.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
If your goal is candy , you should take your own
separate bag.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yes, If that's your goal.
So I got a drawstring and Ifilled that thing.
Yeah, it was a ton of candy, but my intention was to give it
to my boss because she has acandy bowl, or she had a candy
bowl in her office, and to lether just use that until it was
all gone yeah, we could havedefinitely filled up bags if we
wanted to.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Yeah, oh yeah, because they were offering us to
go back through.
Yes, it was raining so hardthat people were leaving, I
think, and yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
So that's an interesting thing between the
two as well Disneyland versusDisney World and I don't know if
it's still the case with OogieBoogie Bash, but Disneyland with
all the locals who go, they allcut out with their kids at, and
I've never gone on Halloween, but they all cut out by like 8,

(13:07):
39 o'clock.
Well, the thing goes tillmidnight, right.
So at 8, 39 o'clock the parkempties and there's just a
diehard people like me and therides are empty.
That's like one of the timeswhere I went on splash mountain
and I had the whole log myselfand when I pulled up at the end
of the ride there was nobodywaiting in line and the girl,

(13:29):
the cast member who's workingthere, she's like are you going
again?
I said yes, she hit the buttonand I took off again.
Yeah, so I didn't even have toget out.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
I don't remember the rides we rode.
I know we did the SpaceMountain in complete dark.
Yeah, we did.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Yes, complete dark we did.
People mover we did, but thatwas during the fireworks, so
that was kind of fun well, people was fun anyway yeah, it
is, I'll argue that all day withanybody.
I like the people mover peoplemove is great, and you know, I
learned a new trick that if youjust swirl your finger around,
yeah, you don't have to get off,you can write again, should try
it is that I mean should trythat trick and see if it's a
real trick or just?

(14:05):
Well, I watched a video.
Dan does YouTube Okay, and he'sa Disney guy.
He's kind of an interesting guy, but he wanted to see how many
times he could ride People Moverin a day.
And finally, at a certain pointof the day, the supervisor came
in and told the cast membersafter four times you have to
kick him off.
Oh, so he would have to get offand get back in line, but he

(14:27):
could not leave, so they had toactually bring him.
He had to have snacks in hisbag because he could not do
anything all day except for ridethe People Mover.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
See, that's when you know you go to Disney.
Just enough if you can havethose kind of days that means
that's the perfect sweet spotfor Disney.
Yeah, to go right enough whereyou can have a day where you
just ride the people movie, justbe a goofball and not even care
.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yeah, that was me.
Disneyland, yeah, I went enoughwhere it was like, eh, okay,
couldn't do anything all dayexcept for walk around and look
at stuff, and I mean I was justso happy about that, yeah.
So I'm trying to think whatelse?
Were there any other realdifferences, the big things?
I noticed, of course, weatherbeing one of them that in
California you don't have todeal with weather.

(15:11):
So if you're thinking about atrip where you want to go see
one of these, you want to go tothe Halloween party if you don't
want weather to be a factor, just go to Disneyland, I would
say, and try to book a tripthere if you have an option.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
From watching the videos today, the Oogie Boogie
Bash looks pretty cool.
I mean you start by when youwalk into California Adventure
Oogie Boogie's up above theCalifornia Adventure.
You walk in, the whole park islike total Halloween style.
Yeah Right, cars Land looksamazing.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Yes, it does the stuff they do at.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Marvel, the Marvel Universe looks great.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
And you have to ride Guardians.
The Halloween version Right.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
And you can ride it twice with your Lightning Lane.
It's a whole different ride.
You can do it beforehand on theregular and do it again with
Lightning Lane.
I didn't realize that, right, unless they change it this year.
Because a few years ago theyhad about 20 dates for Oogie
Boogie.
Because a few years ago theyhad about 20 dates for Oogie
Boogie, last year they had 25.
And this year they have 31.
Wow, 31 Oogie Boogie dates.

(16:13):
Starting on August 17th.
This year is when Oogie Boogiestarts.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
So we have a plan for .
Should we be looking at that, doing Oogie Boogie?
I don't know if we need, Idon't know it's different, we
don't have to, but I'm saying Idon't want to stress to get
tickets.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
I mean, I guess if we get them, we could get them.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Maybe we'll try.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
So I could get tickets way before.
Can you buy two?
I think I can.
I'll check it out, because thetop Magic Key holder goes first,
okay, and then the rest of theMagic Keys go next.
This is how they did it lastyear.
Yeah, and then at then gen popgets to buy tickets.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
All right, I'm not gen pop anymore so I think if we
go early september those mightbe a little easier dates let's
look at the dates and talk tochristy and yeah, do the whole
spiel.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
You might have to think about that because I'm
gonna use my magic key so Iwon't be paying for tickets.
Yeah, so they're adding on aticket price of between 134 and
189 dollars, so costco is doinga special disneyland three days
with park hopper and withmulti-pass included for 449.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Oh yeah, I'm all over that business.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
So yeah, so we're talking about trying to plan a
september trip, yes, where I canactivate my magic key yeah
terrace we'll do jam pop hotel.
Yeah, from an extra, I'm sayinga hotel lulu yes, and I've
stayed there.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
That's right.
I forgot that you did mentionthat to me, but for some reason
it snuck up on me.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Yes, and what I haven't stayed at.
I'm trying to stay to all theharbor boulevard, across the
street hotels, yes, and that'sdown on catella.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
It's on the south east corner of catella right and
I've stayed there one night.
It's a best western part ofthat family.
This uh, there are other bestwesterns I prefer, but close to
walking distance, your kittycorner, to candy cane inn, which
I stayed at and really likethat.
It's gen pop.
It's still close to 300 a night, but nice hotel anyway.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Getting back to yeah, this is this is way cheaper
than I got a great deal.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
That's why I stayed there yeah, yeah, and that's why
I stayed there.
It's because it was yeah 230for two nights.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yeah, yeah, great yeah, that's so close and all I
do is sleep.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
All I need is a bed and honestly, if all you're
doing is sleeping.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Right, it's not a piece of wood.
Yeah, I mean, I just need a bedI can kind of sleep halfway
comfortably in and a shower.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
That's a great price for what you're going to get.
Right, that's all I need.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Yeah, yeah.
So with Oogie Boogie Bash, thedifferences the tree trails
looked a lot cooler, looked alot cooler.
Yes, like the tree trails allhad a character.
Uh-huh, on the tree trail theywere talking to people.
Now, now be it last year withthe doofenshmirtz debacle you've
heard about that.
Right, they tried to dodoofenshmirtz from finning some
furb.
Yes, and he looked awful, yeahI heard about that.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Yeah, it was really bad.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
I mean, I think I watched the best guy, probably
today, because he wasn't.
He wasn't like cringy, uh-huh,something looked cringy.
Some look cringy, yeah Right, but they just didn't say
anything.
Good, most of them don't.
They're not too hilarious.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
I think my favorite was Sid from Toy Story.
Oh OK, he was pretty funny.
He was telling people like hewas making fun of people's
costumes when they walked by.
That's hilarious, like you know.
Too many sparkles, you'dprobably get those all over the
place.
that's why I triple lock mybedroom door, because of people
like you that come in right andhe almost dropped the little,

(19:35):
the little head, the headedrobot guy uh made.
Yeah, it almost fell down.
He was telling everyone how hisawesome save he made and how
great he is for making it and umI'm gonna have to watch some of
these videos, yeah it waspretty good.
So sid was good, but a lot ofthem just weren't very good and
some I had to think about, likethe bad guy from big hero six.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Oh yeah he was on there he was in.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
He was in san risocchio, so that made sense.
Oh, okay, but he was talking,he wasn't too funny, and then
for some reason they think a badguy is, um, bruno.
I don't call him a bad, I don'tcall bruno he's not a bad guy,
he's not a villain he was a treetrail.
They only had other villainsand then bruno's there.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
So I don't know.
Yeah, yeah, I think thegrandma's more of a she's more
of the villain of that story.
So anyway, she does come aroundat the end.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
But the tree trails look pretty good.
The actual parade was prettycool.
The the Frightfully Fun Parade.
It was fun.
They had those horsemen comingout, the one I watched.
The horse came out and had anaccident when he walked out in
front of everybody.
I was like, oh, he doesn't havethe.
When we were at the hotels, wewere watching the trolleys with

(20:45):
the horses, the horse-drawncarriages.
They, the hotels, we werewatching the trolleys with the
horses, the horse drawncarriages.
Yes, they all had it.
They all have bags on the backof the horses.
Yes, to catch the poop, right?
Yeah, so this this horse didnot have that with the headless
horse, no, no, bagless horse.
But then they showed the actual, the cast members that come out
and clean it up, and they got acheer they it was great.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
That's funny.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
So the Headless Horseman's cool, but he doesn't
come out.
When it's rainy or lightningtype stuff he doesn't come out
at all.
But that's not an issue really.
Not there it is, in Florida.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Right, that was cool.
And then the Villain's Grove.
That's what did it for me.
It looks so cool.
You should watch videos just toin the Villain's.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Cove.
No, no characters were in theVillain's Grove.
Oh, okay, it didn't have any.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
I heard in the past.
I guess in the past maybe itdid.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Okay, I thought we knew we were describing it.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
There might have been candy trails there before it's
just a walkthrough.
Very cool looking, though, withvines growing on trees.
Oh, some of the trees look likethey were burning, oh yeah so
cool the the way they did it wasgreat interest.
Yeah, it looked really cool.
And the other cool characterwas hades.
He was pretty funny.
He's one of my favoritevillains.
He was a good one they hadthere, so he was funny too.

(21:58):
So I didn't have bettercharacters, because we saw
characters, we walked in, wewalked around the back, uh
remember that at cruella de vilwas really funny yeah, they were
like three or four.
They were funny, but they werethere in the back when we first
walked in so to watch them morethey weren't.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
It wasn't a candy trail, it was just a bunch of
characters when we first gotthere we did all the candy trail
and then everybody, of course, were they were hiding inside
because of the rain right, theyhad some funny things like the
ghosts.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Yes, they were funny, that woman, the woman ghost at
haunted mansion yes, okay theyinteracted with the people.
That she was funny.
I have a video of her the uh,now, what am I thinking of?

Speaker 2 (22:37):
the the villain show at mickey's not so scary.
So, and I know that they didthat at mickey's not so scary
when it was at disneyland aswell.
Okay, because I watched ittwice, I didn't watch it with
you.
So they bring out all the vill, all the villains there.
So it starts out, it's thesanderson sisters and they're
the I don't know if you want tocall them the hosts, but they're

(23:00):
or the mcs of the show, butthey're the main ones.
And then, like dr facilier andmaleficent comes out, and I
think cruella deville andthere's some others, I think
even oogie boogie comes outduring that one as well.
That show, yeah, that's a ifyou go watch that show.
So they and they did one rightat midnight or really close to

(23:24):
midnight at disney world, right.
So that's the one we could havewatched, but you can get in at
4, and then the party actuallystarts at 7 and stuff.
But I have to say the mostdisappointing thing about these
is the food.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Yeah, I pretty much agree.
I mean I had an okay burger.
It was one of the best burgersI've ever had.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I don't like Disney burgers too well, no, they're
terrible.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Right, but the one I had, the black.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, it had like a black bun.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Right, it was pretty good.
It was spicy.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
So I had the only well, we had the ice cream and I
didn't like that.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
You didn't like that.
I liked that.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
I liked the ice cream so they put, like a magic shell
, candy shell on it.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
It was very waxy and I didn't like that.
The texture was horrible and itwas really sweet ice cream.
So the ice cream itself wasfine.
It had some candy corn.
I'm a fan of candy corn butlater on they had a and this
wasn't part of Mickey's Not soScary, but they had a Halloween
drink and it was some blackberry.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Maybe it was a blackberry, paloma, but they had
a Halloween drink and it wassome blackberry.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Maybe it was a blackberry Paloma, is it what
you had at the Gurgling suitcaseat Old Key West?
Okay, terrible drink.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Yeah, I remember you having that drink.
I remember your face the entiretime.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
And it was.
I think it had a salted rim butit tasted like they put salt in
the drink.
It was a really salty drink.
It was terrible.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
But overall, well, a really salty drink.
It was terrible, but overall.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Well, pretty much only 90 year olds stay at old qs
.
That's probably what they like.
Yes, it probably was like theirone bit of salt that they had
all week.
None of the food has salt in it, but there was nothing about
the food, because you and Ilooked over the menu beforehand,
yeah, and it was nothing thatsaid, oh, we have to try that no
, no, I kind of wanted the candycorn thing and I I'm gonna I'm

(25:12):
opposite with you with that.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
I really like the ice cream yeah, I thought it was
very good yeah, I know, Iusually like really sweet things
, but I don't know if it waslike I was soaking wet and it
was pouring down right at thetime and I just stepped in three
puddles you stepped in thepuddle and then we walked out
and you stepped in the samepuddle I was soaked and so maybe
just eat that ice cream was ahappy place.
Yes, it could have been, I don'tknow, but for me it was a.

(25:35):
The memory of the ice cream wasgood, it was edible.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
I just like I I ate it, but it was that it was a
galactic grill bad.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
No, it was in tomorrow.
Well, we had it I don.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Maybe In my mind it kind of was Really there were a
couple of okay aspects of it,yeah, but overall, yeah, I got
to say the food was like you gotthat burger and I chose their
bland tacos you did At PecosBill.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
And the drink.
I got the drink that was withthe Not so Scary Party, and I
drink that.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
I got the drink that was with the not so scary party
and I didn't like the drink Ihad.
I forgot what it was.
Yeah, see, and that's theproblem is, a lot of the food
was forgettable.
Yeah, uh, and I don't remember, when I went at Disneyland, or
even the year before, if I feltlike I needed to order certain
food.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Does any other nighttime after-hours parties
have good food, Because StarWars night I didn't think had
anything good.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yeah, I think they just try to throw some stuff out
there.
They try and get people to buystuff as far as food goes, but I
don't think it's any good.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
No, and they try to throw.
The worst begging for your buckis to get a dining package
during the after-hours as far asfood goes, but I don't think
it's any good.
No, and they try to throw the.
The worst begging for your buckis to get a dining package
during the during after hoursand sit down and eat yeah,
because you want to be on themove, right, and that's the
whole thing.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
So, and like I said I would I don't think I'll ever
need to go, because I've gonetwice now.
I went by myself and I wentwith you.
I never need to go back tomcgee's not so scary in disney
world.
I never need to go again two'sgood I'm, I'm done, right, I'm
good.
Disneyland I do want to do aboogie because I haven't done

(27:14):
that yet.
But it's for the fact that ifyou buy that ticket with so many
locals, especially if you buy aweeknight and I think, think,
did I do a weeknight?
I don't know if I I might'vedone a Friday night, but I swear
all of the locals left at 8.30,nine o'clock and that park was
empty.
So for three hours I was ridingBig Thunder and we'd pull up to

(27:40):
the station.
There'd be nobody in line.
They just say stay in your seatif you want to go again.
We'd pull up to the station.
There'd be nobody in line.
They'd just say stay in yourseat if you want to go again.
So the ride back to back?
Yeah, splash Mountain.
So I went twice back to back.
You know where you want to goagain, okay, and I could have
gone.
Now, I could have gone a thirdtime because there was still
nobody waiting in line.
Granted, in October I think itwas mid-October Splash Mountain

(28:05):
isn't the most popular ride atnight anyway, because it's
cooling off and whatnot.
But I could have ridden threetimes in a row and had the whole
log to myself, right, did we?

Speaker 1 (28:15):
do both Tiana's and Tron on Mickey's Not so Scary.
I know they were both open withregular lines.
I know we did Tiana's.
I'm sure we did.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
I think we did Tiana's.
I think we did Tiana's, but Idon't know if we did Tron.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
I can't remember how many times.
I don't remember Tron becauseit's such a short ride.
It's not my favorite.
No, so I don't recall.
I don't like every time I rideit, like some of the rides.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
I think you and I just did Virtual no.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
It was just a regular line.
I don't know if we did it.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
I don't think we did because it was still an hour.
Maybe it was it's longer lines?

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah, and it closed a couple times because of the
lightning.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
I don't think that one closes it, I thought it
closed.
No, because it's still coveredthe outside part.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Okay, well anyway, I don't think we rode it.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
We didn't ride that for Mickey's or, yeah, mickey's
Not so Scary.
We did, I think we did PeterPan.
We got on that pretty late.
In fact, I think that was thelast thing we rode was Peter Pan
, because it was like fiveminutes before closing and we
just ran in line and didn't wait.
I think we waited like twominutes.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Yeah, so do.
I think that I think everynighttime spectacular show they
have every nighttime show isworth going to.
So mickey's, not so scary, isworth going to.
It's worth going right, oogieboogie is totally worth going to
.
Is it worth going to all thetime?
And you have to decide whereit's worth as much money as it
costs to go to yeah time.
That's.
That's your own personal thing, right, but I would go to most,

(29:43):
most of these nights.
Like, am I glad I went to StarWars night, yeah, but I'll never
go to it again.
I'm a diehard Star Wars fan.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
But I don't need to go because it's not any
different.
It's just a bunch of peoplethat want to.
I don't know.
I spent way too much time inOgas when I was there because I
was kind of.
I was like ah, I rode all therides, I rode all the fantasy.
I mean like I rode all thefantasy rides in like 40 minutes
.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
And that's probably a big difference.
So are you going alone or areyou going with someone else,
right?
So when I went alone, itprioritized getting on those
rides and when the ride linesgot short, that made it great
Because that was ride after rideyou big, thunder and space,
mountain and yeah, justeverything.

(30:27):
Now, when you're with someoneand or if, like, like I said,
florida, it's just, it stayedcrowded till almost midnight.
Yeah, you know, people tried tostart sneaking out a little
after 11, 11, 30, but thatdoesn't leave you a whole lot of
time to go running aroundseeing shows.
And one of the things that kindof bummed me out when the first

(30:47):
time I went is I didn't realizethey shut down a lot of the
shows at 4 o'clock to startsetting up.
Yeah, so I was thinking I wasgoing to be able to go on
Carousel of Progress.
Like that trip.
I didn't go on Carousel ofProgress, that's a bummer.
So make sure that if you gothat before 5, I think 5.30 is

(31:09):
when they start setting up andthey start shutting down certain
shows Mickey's, philharmagic orCarousel of Progress, monsters
Inc that you make sure that yougo in at 4 and just do those
shows so that you get a chanceto see those.
You got to see the shows.
Yeah, got to see the shows.
Carousel Progress is awesome.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Yep.
So yeah, I recommend going toany.
Anytime you want to go to oneof these shows, you go.
Yeah, If you want to go youjust book wants to go?

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Yeah, it's always better with a friend.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yes, Always better with a friend.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
But then again, if you like doing stuff by yourself
.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
The shows are better.
I mean the after hours eventsare better with a person.
Now does Oogie.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Boogies go to midnight.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
I didn't look at the times they go to.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
I gotta think it does .
Yeah, I do know that as soon asOogie Boogies or it starts
boogies or it starts likedisneyland gets crazy busy.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
So I would say don't go unless you're going to one of
those parties.
This says 6 pm to 11 pm.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Okay, um, so you, they probably let you still in
at four or something, 3 pm threehours before oh, that's eight
hours in that park for 130 bucksa california adventure 150 yeah
.
That's not bad.
I think that's worth it,because you pay that much to go
in for a date anyway.
Right, I think it's worth it topay that price to go to that

(32:34):
party, definitely, so Irecommend it.
Thumbs up.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Thumbs up.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
That's what we're giving it and you probably can't
get a Coney Negroni when you go.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
But you can't Not at one of them.
No, you couldn't.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Or at either of them.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Well, not when you go that day, but you could get one
.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
You could drink ahead of time, right, and then go
into the park or get one thenext day.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Yeah, you could have a trip the bus.
You'd have to take the bus atBoardwalk.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
At Boardwalk up to Magic Kingdom, Right to Magic.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Kingdom.
That's the fastest way.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
That's how you do it.
That's how you do it.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
We've explained it all.

Speaker 1 (33:16):

go to a Halloween event, whichtickets will go on sale very
soon.

that for you, I could actuallycall them for you and you
wouldn't have to call.
You could do that Right, and soyou can contact me at
Aaronbestdayevervacations atgmailcom.

(33:38):
Yeah, and I will take care ofeverything for you.
