SPEAKER_03 (00:39):
Hello, and today
we're talking about the Santa
Claus trilogy of movies whilesipping on a jolly Holly
cocktail from Be Our GuestRestaurant.
Welcome to Cheers to Ears.
SPEAKER_00 (00:49):
We're gonna click
our drinks.
We're gonna toast, we're gonnatoast name.
And get our cheers to it.
SPEAKER_02 (01:07):
Okay, so how do we
make a Jolly Holly cocktail?
SPEAKER_03 (01:11):
Well, how do we make
it or how do they make it?
How do they make it?
Let's talk about them first.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:16):
And cost and yeah,
the whole deal.
SPEAKER_03 (01:18):
So at BR Guest, it's
Granger's Deluxe Organic Vanilla
vodka, Meyer's Original DarkRum, Butterscotch syrup, and
apple cider garnished with asugar gram cracker rim, and it's
$16.50 on top.
Like we'd always talk about BRGuest on top of the price.
SPEAKER_02 (01:34):
$16.50 extra.
Yeah.
So ours, we we of course had tomodify just a bit.
So we used Vale Vanilla vodkaand one and a half ounces.
We did, it was supposed to beone ounce of Myers Dark Rum.
I did an ounce and a halfbecause I just did one of the
little minis of Gibbs Hill BlackRum.
(01:55):
Okay.
Just because I didn't want tobuy a full bottle of Myers,
although we've needed thatenough times that I probably
should just buy a bottle ofMyers dark rum.
Three ounces of apple cider, andthen it was one ounce of
butterscotch syrup.
And then mixed, shaken, and thenpoured over ice.
(02:17):
And it tasted the first drinkwas a little plasticky taste.
SPEAKER_03 (02:24):
It's not bad.
But it's not what I was hoping.
Yeah.
The flavor combos are myfavorite.
I love a butterscotch.
I love a butterscotch.
Yeah.
I mean, it does still taste alittle.
I mean, we added morebutterscotch to it.
SPEAKER_02 (02:38):
We did.
And it's a little better.
So I think the vanilla vodkawasn't necessary.
Maybe like two shots of the darkrum.
I think I think that would havegone well with butterscotch and
apple cider.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And maybe a cinnamon stick for agarnish.
SPEAKER_03 (03:00):
Right.
SPEAKER_02 (03:00):
Yeah, a little
Christmassy.
SPEAKER_03 (03:02):
I was expecting so
this is episode very good at in
this.
SPEAKER_02 (03:05):
Episode two of our
Christmas month long series of
Christmas episodes.
And I'm not getting a real goodChristmas vibe from these drinks
so far.
SPEAKER_03 (03:18):
I think a cinnamon
twist would help.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think it'd help a lot.
SPEAKER_02 (03:23):
Because we did this
the Keshian spiced cream for our
Christmas episode last year, andthat to me was very Christmassy.
Yeah.
That was a good one.
In fact, I need to look up howto make that again, and I might
need to drink one of those.
Good.
SPEAKER_03 (03:38):
Just yeah, it's
Christmas time.
It's as we're recording this,it's not yet Thanksgiving, but
it's Christmas time.
Huh?
SPEAKER_02 (03:46):
Have you watched any
Christmas movies yet?
SPEAKER_03 (03:48):
Well, we have now.
SPEAKER_02 (03:49):
We have now.
Right.
SPEAKER_03 (03:50):
These are my first
ones.
SPEAKER_02 (03:51):
Oh, these were the
first ones?
Yeah, I don't know.
So I usually start earlyNovember with a Hallmark
Christmas movie.
And as I'm watching it, I saythe plot of like what's going to
happen next, because they allhave the same plot as I'm
watching the movie.
Yeah.
And then I move on.
And I only started watching it.
(04:12):
I didn't watch the whole thingChristmas with the Cranks.
That's a great list.
It's one of my first ones.
But we jumping ahead to we watchall three of the Santa Claus
movies.
SPEAKER_03 (04:22):
All three Santa
Claus movies.
So the Santa Claus is to me justa classic.
So it's worth watching all threeto me, just because the Santa
Claus is one of the best, one ofthe best Christmas movies, in my
opinion.
It's a great story.
I think maybe he is better inChristmas and the Cranks.
SPEAKER_02 (04:43):
That to me is a
better movie.
SPEAKER_03 (04:44):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (04:45):
Christmas with the
Cranks.
But it might this has moreappeal because it's a Disney
movie, more appeal, familyappeal.
Where Christmas with the Cranksisn't necessarily a family, a
full family appeal moviebecause, and I don't want to say
it has adult themes, but it'smore adult humor.
SPEAKER_03 (05:02):
Right.
SPEAKER_02 (05:03):
Yeah.
I came up as we we didn't talkabout this.
We just said, oh, just chatabout the movies, right?
All three of them.
We didn't watch the series.
Have you watched before we getinto that?
Have you watched the series?
They did last year.
SPEAKER_03 (05:15):
Yes, I watched it
last year.
And that was forgotten all aboutit.
SPEAKER_02 (05:18):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (05:18):
I didn't think about
watching it this time.
This is three movies.
We just watched the movie.
This was six hours of movies.
Yeah, so you did it.
We both did this differently.
Again, like as we do.
As we do, as it works.
That's how we wrote.
Our only homework was watch themovies and let's talk about it.
And let's talk about it.
Sometimes we've again looked wesometimes we do talk about how
(05:42):
we are going to discuss it.
SPEAKER_01 (05:44):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (05:44):
But we did not do
that here again.
So what did you do?
SPEAKER_02 (05:48):
So I just kind of
came up with some different
questions to prompts.
We can have some discussdiscussions based off of those.
SPEAKER_03 (05:57):
Okay.
Yeah.
I came up with like three orfour tidbits, like what the
movie's kind of what the movie'sabout.
Okay.
Well, that'd be goodinteresting.
In a little way.
Okay.
And then like what the importantthings about the movie are.
Okay.
In a cheers to ears kind of way.
SPEAKER_02 (06:13):
Okay.
Well, I like that.
SPEAKER_03 (06:14):
Yeah, not in a
regular movie.
Not in a syscall and ebert kindof way.
SPEAKER_02 (06:18):
No, we don't do
sickle and ebert.
Yeah, we do cheers to ears.
We do cheers to ears.
SPEAKER_03 (06:22):
And no one else does
it like us.
Yeah.
So should we start with SantaClaus?
The first movie.
SPEAKER_02 (06:28):
Mine are all kind of
intermingled.
SPEAKER_03 (06:31):
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (06:31):
Throughout all
three, because mine could be.
SPEAKER_03 (06:33):
Oh.
SPEAKER_02 (06:34):
So, and I I will
just say that right off the bat.
Okay.
I thought these all and I'venever sat down and watched them
all back to back to back.
Okay.
I think they did a good job ofmaking these back to back to
back, even though they were made12 years apart.
Yeah, I have all the gears downhere.
(06:55):
1994 was the first one.
Then 2002 and 2006.
Correct.
Yeah.
So 12 years is a pretty goodspan.
All the kids grow up and andwhatnot.
So anyway, why don't you give usa little tidbit on episode or
the episode one?
The first Santa Claus.
Okay.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (07:14):
The first Santa
Claus, I summed it up by saying
a man accidentally kills Santathen inherits his job.
Which raises several questionsabout morality, labor laws, and
estate planning.
SPEAKER_01 (07:28):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (07:28):
This movie asks you
first and foremost, do not think
too hard.
SPEAKER_02 (07:33):
No.
Suspend reality.
Just go ahead and do that.
SPEAKER_03 (07:36):
Do you want me to
just talk about the whole movie
and then you ask a couplequestions?
SPEAKER_02 (07:39):
And then we can do a
couple questions, or we can do
all my questions at the end.
I think we'll well let's just doa rundown.
SPEAKER_03 (07:44):
Okay, let's do a
rundown of all the movies.
That sounds good.
That's a good idea.
Yeah.
As we just discussed this at allbefore recording.
We just sat down and turned onthe camera.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's important to read contractsbefore you murder someone.
SPEAKER_02 (07:57):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (07:58):
That's a big point
of the movie.
SPEAKER_02 (07:59):
Well, usually a
contract is just go murder
someone.
SPEAKER_03 (08:03):
Contract killing.
SPEAKER_02 (08:04):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (08:04):
Well, the murder
involved becoming them.
SPEAKER_02 (08:06):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (08:07):
Okay.
And uh it was an accidentalkilling.
And the the allergic reaction ofTim Allen.
Oh, yeah.
So him becoming Santa was like ahuge allergic reaction.
SPEAKER_02 (08:18):
Yes.
He bloated.
He grew, he grew hair.
He grew hair.
Lots of hair.
Crazy.
And it all went white.
SPEAKER_03 (08:26):
But this is a
holiday classic.
SPEAKER_02 (08:27):
I think so.
Right.
Yeah.
This is if you want a goodmovie, just sit down with the
whole family.
This is it.
This is a good one.
SPEAKER_03 (08:34):
It's a holiday
classic that proves that the one
department that needs work atthe North Pole is human
resources.
SPEAKER_02 (08:40):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (08:40):
Because that
contract is not how they should
have worked it.
SPEAKER_02 (08:43):
Yeah, that's dicey.
Right.
Yeah.
To be so going into the and Iknow, and maybe we don't mention
this right yet, but the th well, spoiler alert, in the third one,
there's the escape clause.
And why wasn't he told aboutthat in the first movie?
SPEAKER_03 (08:59):
Why wasn't he told
about that?
SPEAKER_02 (09:01):
Yeah.
Suspend it your belief andcommon sense while watching
these.
As with most Christmas movies.
So what about episode two?
SPEAKER_03 (09:11):
Santa Claus Part
Two, right?
Santa Claus Part.
That's all it's called.
Yeah.
2002.
Right?
So in this one, Santa must get awife.
SPEAKER_02 (09:19):
Yes, the Miss Claus.
The Mrs.
Claus.
SPEAKER_03 (09:22):
But it plays out
like a 90s sitcom.
Gotta get a wife.
Blah blah lots of jokes aboutgetting a wife.
Maybe even 80s, late 80s.
SPEAKER_02 (09:32):
Because there's a
little threes company, like
misunderstandings.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (09:37):
And plus there's a
huge plastic toy in this movie.
SPEAKER_02 (09:40):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (09:41):
That uses melted
crayons as moisturizer.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it's that's a good one.
And it's half romantic comedy, half dystopian toy factory coup.
SPEAKER_02 (09:53):
Yeah.
Angry Santa.
SPEAKER_03 (09:55):
Crazy.
The Angry Santa's crazy.
SPEAKER_02 (09:57):
Yeah.
So what was interesting aboutthis one is it introduced
characters that would be moreprominent in the third one.
Like I don't know if they hadplans to do a third one at when
they did the second one, butthey transitioned.
SPEAKER_03 (10:14):
It was actually, I
think they go one, two, three as
how good they are.
I think they actually get alittle worse as they go along.
SPEAKER_02 (10:22):
They do.
They do.
I will agree with that.
SPEAKER_03 (10:24):
I think the evil Toy
Santa looks like a build-a-bear
dictator yelling, you're on thenaughty list.
SPEAKER_02 (10:30):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (10:31):
Making a little too
much coal.
And it answers the question:
what if Santa had to speed date (10:32):
undefined
and overthrow his own fascistduplicate at the same time?
SPEAKER_02 (10:42):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (10:43):
That's a question
everyone asks.
SPEAKER_02 (10:45):
Yeah.
I do all the time.
SPEAKER_03 (10:46):
I mean, what if
Santa speed dated?
SPEAKER_02 (10:48):
Yeah.
And had to throw overthrow afascist dictator.
SPEAKER_03 (10:52):
That's just normal
questions.
SPEAKER_02 (10:53):
Yeah, normal
questions that come to mind.
SPEAKER_03 (10:55):
But that's my
overview of Santa Claus part
two.
SPEAKER_02 (10:58):
I for Santa Claus
part two, I didn't like that
Charlie had so much angst.
It was like bad parenting.
That was like a big theme in it.
Is it good parenting?
Is it bad parenting?
I don't think he he should havehad as many issues as he did in
the second one.
I just don't.
SPEAKER_03 (11:18):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (11:19):
So anyway, moving on
to the third one.
I don't know.
Number three thoughts.
SPEAKER_03 (11:22):
I love Martin Short,
first of all.
Yeah.
This wasn't his best role.
No.
I know.
It sucks because he overplayedit, but we'll talk about that in
a second.
So Martin Short, this movie, here's what this movie was
Martin Short, Time Travel, andCanada.
SPEAKER_01 (11:37):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (11:37):
That's three words,
three phrases that sum up the
whole movie.
It's like a Mul Hawley displaycomes to life and demands a
feature film.
I'd agree with that.
And these are all jokes for thismovie.
Okay.
It's not my favorite.
If Elsa were an acting coach, she would tell Martin Short to
just tone it down a little.
SPEAKER_01 (11:57):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (11:58):
And Elsa's kind of
over the top sometimes.
SPEAKER_02 (12:01):
They didn't write
his villain character quite
right.
SPEAKER_03 (12:06):
I think they wrote
it.
Here's my take on it.
They probably wrote it, and thenMartin Short ad-libbed 90% of
what he said.
SPEAKER_02 (12:14):
Probably.
SPEAKER_03 (12:15):
Because that's him.
SPEAKER_02 (12:16):
Is he an ad-libber?
Oh, he's so good at it.
Okay.
SPEAKER_03 (12:19):
And so they just
used a bunch of that because it
was probably written reallyhorribly, and he made it even
better.
SPEAKER_02 (12:24):
Yeah.
The uh SCTV guys were all goodat ad-libbing.
Right.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (12:29):
Yeah.
He's a great ad-libber.
It's not the best Christmasmovie you're gonna watch.
SPEAKER_02 (12:33):
No.
SPEAKER_03 (12:34):
But what it is, the
positives are it's sparkly, very
loud, and festively aggressive.
Yeah isn't a great term for it.
So that's how I saw numberthree.
Okay.
Not my favorite.
I mean, I wouldn't watch this.
It's not on a rotation ofChristmas movies to watch.
SPEAKER_02 (12:53):
No, the first one is
totally.
But not the third one.
And the second one, are you kindof have you wrapped up your
summaries of them?
Okay.
SPEAKER_03 (13:02):
I'm good.
SPEAKER_02 (13:02):
So this it's what's
your overall vibe on the
trilogy?
Holiday classic, okay, guiltypleasure, or background noise
while rapping presents.
SPEAKER_03 (13:14):
So as a whole
trilogy, I'm gonna go holiday
classic.
SPEAKER_02 (13:18):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (13:18):
Because I think the
first two are really good
movies.
SPEAKER_02 (13:20):
I think the first
two are good holiday classics,
and the third one is backgroundnoise while rapping presents.
SPEAKER_03 (13:28):
Godfather three.
SPEAKER_02 (13:29):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (13:30):
First two great
ones, and then there's a God.
Yeah, gotta you gotta have aGodfather 3.
Jaws 3.
SPEAKER_02 (13:37):
Beverly Hills Cop 3.
SPEAKER_03 (13:38):
Yeah, Jaws 3D, I
think it was called.
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (13:44):
So it used to be
that, yeah, the third one was
horrible.
For those who are younger thanGen X, younger than 50 or 45, I
would say.
It used to be that you wouldhave a good first movie, you
might have a good second one, orit'd be only slightly worse, but
(14:07):
you'd have two good ones.
Beverly Hills Cop is thequintessential of this.
By the third one, you're losingcore actors, and they're just
trying to make money.
That's how you used to be in the80s, and I'd say into the 90s,
and it would suck.
It would just be a horriblegarbage movie that you just
(14:29):
didn't waste your time on.
unknown (14:30):
Right.
SPEAKER_03 (14:30):
It's like when
Family Ties added a little
brother.
SPEAKER_02 (14:33):
Yeah.
Or Brady Bunch added a littlebrother.
Right.
SPEAKER_03 (14:37):
Or Little House in
the Prairie.
Add a brother.
SPEAKER_02 (14:39):
Or Growing Pains
added a little brother.
Yeah.
If a TV show adds a littlebrother, you know it's jumped
the shark.
SPEAKER_03 (14:46):
It's done.
SPEAKER_02 (14:47):
It's over.
SPEAKER_03 (14:48):
They're just biting
time.
SPEAKER_02 (14:50):
So Martin Short's
little brother.
This one isn't completelyhorrible because it has two of
my favorite characters in thewhole series.
Okay.
Neil and Lucy.
Are two of my favorite.
Now, Neil is in all three ofthem.
That's Judge Reinhold.
And he is love Neil.
He is my favorite character, Ithink, in the movie series.
(15:12):
I just really like hischaracter.
SPEAKER_03 (15:14):
I've always liked
him.
SPEAKER_02 (15:15):
Judge Reinhold?
No, he's fun to watch.
He is.
SPEAKER_03 (15:18):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (15:18):
And then Lucy comes
in and she's a very sweet young
actress.
Her father, a little IMDBtidbit, Lost in Space, Will
Robinson.
The kid who played Will Robinsonis her father.
SPEAKER_03 (15:31):
On the original Lost
in Space show.
SPEAKER_02 (15:33):
Yes, on the original
Lost in Space show.
Bill Mooney.
SPEAKER_03 (15:36):
Wow, that is a
tidbit.
SPEAKER_02 (15:37):
Yeah.
I always read DM IMDB on thesemovies to find out stuff like
that.
Nice.
But Neil and Lucy are myfavorite characters, and I
thought they had their best, like they had the most screen
time in the third one.
Therefore, that I think helpedsave that movie is their screen
time.
SPEAKER_03 (15:57):
Oh yeah.
You're the Cheers to Earshistorian.
SPEAKER_02 (16:00):
Yes.
That's sure.
SPEAKER_03 (16:01):
I'm the Cliff Clavin
of little little known fact.
SPEAKER_02 (16:05):
Yeah, little known
fact.
SPEAKER_03 (16:07):
Tell me you have to
make them up and they can't be
real, right?
SPEAKER_02 (16:09):
And we talked about
that, like what the transitions.
I think they all threetransition one into the next
really well.
Like they didn't try to do anyweird stuff between all of them.
And it's definitely one is thebest, two is the next, three is
the worst out of the three.
But who were your favoritecharacters?
SPEAKER_03 (16:29):
Well, of course, Tim
Allen.
SPEAKER_02 (16:31):
Yeah.
And I would say non-Tim Allen.
SPEAKER_03 (16:34):
He just writes the
whole thing.
But the kid that played his son,Charlie, good in every show.
Especially the first one.
His believing in his dad.
SPEAKER_02 (16:43):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (16:43):
Being Santa Claus.
SPEAKER_02 (16:45):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (16:45):
And how he just kept
with it the whole time.
SPEAKER_02 (16:48):
Yeah, and wouldn't
let up.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (16:49):
But Judge Reinhold's
characters, too, is also
probably the best.
How he didn't believe in him.
And then when he did, it waslike classic Judge Reinhold's
happy smile face.
Yeah.
That he gets.
SPEAKER_02 (17:01):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And oh, that's right, because hehe makes believers out of the
ex-wife, Judge Reinhold, whoJudge Reinhold has married
towards the end.
SPEAKER_03 (17:12):
Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02 (17:12):
And she's a good
character, but she's not
necessarily a standout.
And I can't even remember.
SPEAKER_03 (17:18):
Yeah, she's not my
favorite character at all.
SPEAKER_02 (17:21):
Yeah, she's okay,
but Judge Reinhold, yeah, is for
non-Tim Allen or Charlie, the orthe kid who plays Charlie.
SPEAKER_03 (17:30):
Who else did I like?
You see her getting me on.
I didn't prep for this.
SPEAKER_02 (17:35):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (17:35):
One of the there's
one of the top elves.
SPEAKER_02 (17:38):
Bernard?
Yes.
The first elf.
The first guy.
Okay, really liked him.
SPEAKER_03 (17:41):
Bernard's great.
SPEAKER_02 (17:42):
In fact, that's
okay.
So that leads into my next one.
Best elf.
There's Bernard, there's Judy,and then there's Curtis.
As they're three that get themost screen time, I would say.
SPEAKER_03 (17:54):
Bernard's definitely
number one.
SPEAKER_02 (17:55):
Yeah, I think Judy's
a really close too because I
think she has she just is likethis very sweet little kid.
Uh-huh.
And she talks about like herlines are great.
Like, oh wow, this is amazing,Cocoa.
Yeah.
Well, it took me 1200 years toperfect the recipe.
Right.
Because they live so long.
So I really liked her character.
SPEAKER_03 (18:16):
I did not like
Curtis.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I get that.
I get that.
I was just thinking, as I wasthinking of Elves, I keep going
to Prep and Landing.
Yes.
Because that's the best elfcharacters in any show.
This is true, in my opinion.
And I have watched those.
There's I know you have now,right?
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (18:34):
Because last year
you mentioned them and I hadn't
seen them.
And yeah, I finally watchedthem.
SPEAKER_03 (18:38):
Such good elf
characters.
SPEAKER_02 (18:39):
So there are other
characters.
Abigail Breslin, very early inher acting career, played in the
third one.
So 2006.
She played one of the elves.
SPEAKER_03 (18:50):
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (18:51):
And so, but a very
small part, but you know it's
her.
But those are like the threemain ones.
And the character Judy getsreplaced.
That elf.
So Bernard goes the first andsecond one, and then he's out of
the third one, and Curtis takesover his job.
And the Curtis, I can't think ofthe kid that actor's name, but
(19:15):
I'm just not a big fan.
I've never really liked him asan actor.
But I like Bernard.
SPEAKER_03 (19:21):
Sorry, guy that
plays Curtis.
SPEAKER_02 (19:22):
Yeah.
And Judy, I thought.
Both very good elves, very goodparts.
SPEAKER_03 (19:27):
He was probably just
dialing to ask if he could be on
the show.
Yeah.
He was like you said that ruinedit.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (19:32):
I guess not.
The kid.
That was the other one withBruce Willis.
Another dude's name movie he wasin.
Yes.
Anyway, he sucked.
So let's talk about Leastfavorite characters.
SPEAKER_03 (19:44):
Least favorite
characters.
SPEAKER_02 (19:46):
So mine, of course,
Curtis, right?
One of them.
SPEAKER_03 (19:49):
Wow, that's tough.
SPEAKER_02 (19:50):
I think the wife.
Really?
SPEAKER_03 (19:52):
I'm a big fan of
her.
She's not a great actress, Idon't think.
See, I thought she was I don'tthink there's anything great
about her.
SPEAKER_02 (19:58):
I don't think there
was anything great, but I don't
think there was anything badabout her.
Not his wife.
Like she didn't.
SPEAKER_03 (20:03):
Not his wife, the
original Judge Reinhold's wife.
SPEAKER_02 (20:06):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (20:06):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (20:07):
I don't think she
was just there.
She was just there.
SPEAKER_03 (20:10):
She didn't drive the
story at all.
SPEAKER_02 (20:12):
I almost put
annoying characters.
SPEAKER_03 (20:14):
Yeah, I don't think
there is any.
I mean, Martin Short.
I thought it was kind ofannoying.
unknown (20:19):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (20:19):
All the Martin Short
roles, and I love him.
Like Steve Martin's like myall-time idol of people.
He has everything the actingability, yes, comedic genius,
musical ability, right?
And he's and his intelligence.
Yeah.
He's a five tool player, right?
Like you can have in baseball, right?
(20:39):
He does everything well.
He does everything well.
Yeah.
If I was to switch places withone person in life, I've always
said it would be Steve Martin.
No.
That'd be that's my guy.
See now learning new thingsabout you.
Number two, Derek Jeter.
And there we go.
SPEAKER_02 (20:53):
So didn't like her.
I didn't like Bud Newman.
So in in the second one, hemarries, and now I forget his
her first name, but she'sPrincipal Newman.
She's the principal of Charlie'sschool.
So in the third one, both AlanArkin and Margaret play her
(21:13):
parents and they come to theNorth Pole.
He annoyed me.
SPEAKER_03 (21:16):
Alan Arkin did?
SPEAKER_02 (21:17):
Yeah.
He plays the same character ineverything.
He does.
And sometimes that works andsometimes that doesn't.
SPEAKER_03 (21:23):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (21:24):
And for this one, it
didn't work for me.
Although I really did like AnneMargaret.
I thought she played a good momin that one.
SPEAKER_03 (21:31):
She was good at it.
SPEAKER_02 (21:32):
The only other one
was Sandman.
That character annoyed me.
SPEAKER_03 (21:36):
Yeah, I think the
evil villain, Santa Claus, could
have been a little better as anevil character.
So Tim Allen's evil.
Melted Crayon guy.
SPEAKER_02 (21:48):
Melted Crayon.
Santa?
Yeah.
Okay.
SPEAKER_03 (21:51):
I'm thinking no one
really annoyed me though.
There was no small worlds to mein this trilogy.
No.
SPEAKER_02 (21:58):
So yeah, I just
didn't really care for their
characters.
Yeah.
So what did you think of themythical figures?
So there was Mother Nature, TheTooth Fairy, Sandman, Father
Time, Cupid, Easter Bunny, andJack Frost.
SPEAKER_03 (22:14):
Well done.
I like how they did it.
SPEAKER_02 (22:16):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (22:17):
I like how they
talked to us.
SPEAKER_02 (22:18):
A council of
mythical figures.
SPEAKER_03 (22:20):
Right, instead of
having the trees and nightmare
for Christmas, where you go toany place, they had a whole
actual council.
SPEAKER_02 (22:26):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (22:27):
I liked him.
It was well done.
SPEAKER_02 (22:29):
I like Cupid and the
Tooth Fairy.
SPEAKER_03 (22:31):
Cupid was hilarious.
SPEAKER_02 (22:32):
Yeah.
And so was the Tooth Fairy.
He was good.
Sandman, I was like, meh.
And Father Time had his moments.
Okay.
So this was another one that waskind of funny.
Father Time, and now I'mforgetting the name of the
actor, but he was the boss inthe first movie.
SPEAKER_03 (22:49):
Oh, really?
SPEAKER_02 (22:50):
He was Tim Allen's
boss at the toy factory.
SPEAKER_03 (22:53):
Toy Company worked
for?
SPEAKER_02 (22:54):
Yeah.
And then he was Father Time.
I've watched those a few times, all of them.
Yeah.
And I finally, when I startedlooking through IMDB and
everything, I finally picked upon that.
I was like, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (23:06):
That's crazy.
SPEAKER_02 (23:07):
They went ahead and
slid him in there.
Cheers to Ears Historian.
Okay.
Need another drink.
So anyway, that was kind of mythought.
There was like some charactersthat were meh.
But overall, I mean, theyweren't where I just wanted to
turn the movie off.
No.
Not at all.
No.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (23:26):
None of the movies
were bad.
SPEAKER_02 (23:27):
No.
You'll never see them on MysteryScience Theater 3000.
SPEAKER_03 (23:31):
Right.
SPEAKER_02 (23:32):
Yeah.
They were none of them were thatbad.
But they were totally.
SPEAKER_03 (23:37):
So why isn't what
here's my question?
I just thought of this.
SPEAKER_02 (23:41):
Okay.
SPEAKER_03 (23:42):
The Santa Claus
trilogy is a Disney, Disney
trilogy, right?
SPEAKER_02 (23:46):
Yes.
SPEAKER_03 (23:46):
Disney trilogy.
Not in the parks.
Nothing about them here inChristmas time.
Is there?
SPEAKER_02 (23:52):
No.
SPEAKER_03 (23:53):
I don't think there
is.
SPEAKER_02 (23:54):
I wonder if he's
ever done the Candlelight
Processional.
I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_03 (23:58):
And that's only two
or three years ago is when I
first started paying attentionwho really did it.
SPEAKER_02 (24:03):
Yeah.
I imagine at some point he's hadto have done that.
SPEAKER_03 (24:06):
But yeah, they
should have some kind of
something in the parks for themovies.
It doesn't have to be Tim Allen.
SPEAKER_02 (24:13):
No, but the Santa
Claus.
Yeah, something at least duringthe holiday season.
Right.
Because those are the Christmasholiday movies.
But it's the same thing with theChristmas Muppet Kit Muppet
Christmas care.
SPEAKER_03 (24:26):
Right.
SPEAKER_02 (24:27):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (24:27):
Maybe this new ride,
the rock and roller coaster.
Oh, they oh, an overlay.
This Christmas, every episode,we're gonna come up with the
best overlay.
Because last episode we came upwith a good one.
SPEAKER_02 (24:39):
We did.
And now I can't forget it, eventhough it was like an hour ago.
SPEAKER_03 (24:43):
What did we come up
with?
I forgot.
I totally forgot.
Because just like I just thinkof things on top of my head,
it's what I thought of.
You said something.
Oh, it was uh Tiana's Oh aTiana's overlay.
Yeah, and then a rock and rollercoaster overlay of a Muppet
Christmas Carol.
SPEAKER_02 (24:59):
Oh, that would be
good.
Because that's my favoriteversion of a Christmas carol.
SPEAKER_03 (25:06):
You know how cool
that would be if they added all
of the Christmas past andpresent and future into a roller
coaster that fast.
Oh, I know.
SPEAKER_02 (25:17):
And you're seeing
them fly by because Christmas
present is he goes by so fast.
That would be really interestingif they could pull that off.
Yeah.
That would be a great overlay.
Okay, so now our goal is tothink of a new overlay every
week for this month for theChristmas episodes.
SPEAKER_03 (25:34):
And we forgot to ask
everyone to like and subscribe.
SPEAKER_02 (25:38):
Like, subscribe,
follow, whatever the things are
that you need to do.
Leave us a review, leave us.
SPEAKER_03 (25:45):

SPEAKER_02 (25:45):

SPEAKER_03 (25:46):
Right, comment
positive things.
SPEAKER_02 (25:49):
We don't want to get
it to some kind of shoot us an
email if you have an idea of anepisode.
Cheers to ears one atoutlook.com.
That's us, and we'll answer.
We will.
We'll be like, thanks.
