A tart key lime pie martini with a graham cracker rim is our catalyst for a full‑tilt imagineering session: if Disney’s rumored expansions really land, which ones would we sprint to first—and why? We map out five bold concepts and give each a heartbeat with ride systems, restaurants, and signature cocktails you can practically taste.

We start with Monstropolis, where a suspended “door vault” coaster could deliver a rare Disney sweet spot: thrilling enough for teens, whimsical enough for kids, and endlessly re‑rideable. Think Harry Hausen’s sushi with a crisp saketini and a playful gummy‑eye garnish, plus a refreshed show space to keep crowds moving. Then we dive into Villains Land, sketching two e‑ticket anchors and a moody multi‑room “Lair” where each chamber channels a different baddie—Sazerac for Dr. Facilier, spice‑bright North African notes for Jafar, and dry‑ice theatrics fit for the Evil Queen. It lives on street energy: sharp character improv, quotable one‑liners, and wicked photo ops.

Next up, Piston Peak shifts gears to Rocky Mountain grit: an off‑road racing experience, a family ride, and hearty comfort food. Picture bison burgers, green‑chile sides, huckleberry desserts, and a reservation‑only beer and whiskey lounge to finally give Magic Kingdom a grown‑up hideout. Over at DCA, Pandora: The Way of Water remains murky but promising; we imagine a headline water ride with glowing foliage, plus a California‑leaning canteen that balances bioluminescent looks with clean, craveable flavors. Finally, Tropical Americas blends Encanto’s color and music with an Indiana Jones overlay. The aesthetics could be breathtaking—string lights, carved wood, and a nightly plaza party—powered by a proper caipirinha bar and savory South American plates that make you linger.

We wrap with our predicted build order and a simple truth: rides hook guests, but food, drinks, music, and playful spaces make lands sticky. Hit play, then tell us which concept should get greenlit first. If you enjoy these big‑swing blueprints, subscribe, share with a Disney‑loving friend, and drop a review so more fans can find the show.

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hello and welcome to Cheers to Ears.

(00:02):
Where today we're drinking a keylime pie martini.
And it's from Narcuzzi's atDisneyland's Grand Floridian
Resort and Spa.
1850 is made with Tito'shandmade vodka, Midori, Melon
liqueur, vanilla cream, coldpressed lime juice, and toasted
meringue.

SPEAKER_01 (00:21):
Yes.
Which we weren't gonna make thetoasted meringue.
That just wasn't gonna happen.
No, but we did do one and a halfounces of Tito's, half ounce of
Midori, three-quarters of anounce of lime juice, fresh lime
juice, one ounce of vanillacream, which was just vanilla
extract mixed with half andhalf, and then we tried that and
it was very tart.

(00:42):
Very tart.
And so we added about half ounceto three quarters of an ounce of
simple syrup, and that made itperfect.
So we have the graham crackerrim, little garnish on there.
Very nice, very nice drink.

SPEAKER_00 (00:56):
Yeah, and you're could be done with yours soon.
I just started mine.

SPEAKER_01 (00:59):
Yeah, I'm about halfway.
When I get drinking, it's timeto get drinking.

SPEAKER_00 (01:02):
I like this drink once we I mean, it could be
still, I think, a little milder.
Probably something we did withthe toasted meringue, changed it
a little bit.
I don't know.
I would order this just to trythe difference.

SPEAKER_01 (01:12):
I like lime.
Even when it was tart, I stillliked it, but this is actually
better.

SPEAKER_00 (01:17):
It was too much for me.
I couldn't even taste the drink.
It was so tart to me.

SPEAKER_01 (01:21):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (01:21):
When we had it.
Yeah.
Yeah, I couldn't even taste itat all.
So that's why I suggest that weflip something in there.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (01:29):
Goosey's, though, is a place I really want to try.
Right.

SPEAKER_00 (01:32):
I have a menu right here.
They have some good stuff.
It's a seafood restaurant.

SPEAKER_01 (01:35):
Seafood.

SPEAKER_00 (01:35):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (01:36):
A little on the spendy side, but you know, what
isn't a Disney World?

SPEAKER_00 (01:41):
No, for a$19 lobster bisque.

SPEAKER_01 (01:44):
Yeah.
That's the one, the roundrestaurant that's sitting over
the lake.

SPEAKER_00 (01:49):
Right.

SPEAKER_01 (01:49):
Yeah.
That just seems like it'd benice to just sit there and look
at the lake and order somethinggood, something tasty with a
drink or two.
We had the Empress Lime Gimletfrom there a while back.
I can't remember what show thatwas, but we have had one of
their drinks before.

SPEAKER_00 (02:06):
Right, but we've yet to eat at any restaurant at
Ground Floridian.

SPEAKER_01 (02:10):
Yeah, I don't I don't even think I've gotten a
coffee there.
I've walked through it a coupletimes, but that's about it.

SPEAKER_00 (02:17):
I don't remember if I got a coffee on that little
kiosk in the lobby.

SPEAKER_01 (02:22):
I'll have to go back.

SPEAKER_00 (02:24):
I think I might have got a coffee when they finish up
when I took Christy.
Yeah, when they finish that up.
It's looking good right now.
Really interested in checkingthat out.
Yeah.
So talking about finishingthings up and future of Disney.
Yes.
That's what we're talking about.
What we're talking about.

SPEAKER_01 (02:38):
Whoa.
What a segue.
New lands.
So a lot of stuff coming downthe pike in the next probably
three, four years, I think.

SPEAKER_00 (02:47):
It says it's a five-year plan for the parks.
Yeah.
2029.
It's a five-year plan, they say.
Yeah.
I was looking into the when theother things were done.
It took it takes about three orfive years from when they start
construction.
Yeah.
To when things open.
Like Mickey and Minnie's,Galaxy's Edge.
Yeah, provided nothing messes upthe plan.
Right.

(03:07):
The Skyliner, that kind ofstuff.
But they're investing 17 billioninto Walt Disney World and 60
billion into all the parks overthat.
But they don't say how muchproject.
So this is exciting.

SPEAKER_01 (03:23):
Yes.

SPEAKER_00 (03:24):
It's an exciting time for Disney.
Usually when we broach thissubject, we make up everything.

SPEAKER_01 (03:29):
Yes.

SPEAKER_00 (03:30):
So we had to make up something for this podcast.
We couldn't just make it likehere's how we ranked.

SPEAKER_01 (03:34):
We're not a news channel.

SPEAKER_00 (03:36):
No, here's how we rank the top five.

SPEAKER_01 (03:38):
We're a news and a false hope channel.
So the lands that I went withthat I created the list for were
Monsters Inc., and these arelands or kind of an expansion of
a land, but I figured somethingsignificant enough that it
creates a multiple rides,multiple experiences,
restaurants, whatnot.

(03:58):
So Monsters Inc., Piston Peak,Villains Land, Pandora Avatar,
and Puebla Esperanza.
So Puebla Esperanza at AnimalKingdom, Monsters Inc.,
Hollywood Studios, Piston Peak, and Villains Land at Magic
Kingdom, and Pandora Avatar, Wayof Water at DCA.

SPEAKER_00 (04:19):
And they have announced how much they're going
to do in these lands already.
Some nothing.
The villains land, we've gotnothing.
Nothing.
So we'll go through each one.
Do you want to go through it andjust we'll start with the first
one and where we rank it?
Should we do worst to first?
Yeah, but we could havedifferent worst to first.

SPEAKER_01 (04:37):
Oh, that's true.
Then we're given different.
Okay.
That's it.
That's a good point.

SPEAKER_00 (04:41):
So we can start with Monstros Monstropolis.

SPEAKER_01 (04:44):
Yes.
Monstropolis?

SPEAKER_00 (04:46):
Is that that's what they're going to call it.
They say Monstropolis.

SPEAKER_01 (04:49):
Monstropolis.

SPEAKER_00 (04:50):
And then Pueblo Esperanza, the land's going to
be called Tropical Americas.
Because they have Indiana Jonesthere too, so they can't just
call the whole thing PabloEsperanza.
That's going to be part of it.

SPEAKER_01 (05:00):
Pueblo Esperanza.
Pueblo.
Pablo Escobar.

SPEAKER_00 (05:04):
Yep, that's a different episode.

SPEAKER_01 (05:05):
Pablo Escobaranza.

SPEAKER_00 (05:06):
That's our Darkros land.

SPEAKER_01 (05:08):
That I thought that was, they were well, tropical.
Yeah, Tropical Americans.
Indiana Jones.

SPEAKER_00 (05:13):
Do you want to just start with the Monsters Inc.?
Sure.
And go down and say how we rankit.
I think that's a good idea.

SPEAKER_01 (05:18):
Okay, why don't you go first?
I rank it as number one.

SPEAKER_00 (05:21):
Number one.
Number one.
Number one.
Really?
Monstropolis.
Wow.
Number one.
That's the best.
Because of the ride.
So let's talk about the landfirst, what we know about it.

SPEAKER_01 (05:30):
Yeah.
First suspended roller coasterat Disney World or any of the
Disney themed parks, but you'regoing to be like one of the
doors flying through the air.
And that just sounds really coolto me.
I think this has, and it'sstrongly rumored that Harry
Hausen's sushi will be there aswell.

SPEAKER_00 (05:50):
And I went with that.
Because our twist, our twistthis episode is we have a
restaurant and a drink for everywe both had our own, we each had
our own take on it, but for eachland we have a restaurant and a
drink.

SPEAKER_01 (06:03):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (06:04):
And that's what I have Harry Hausen's.
I just made that the restaurant.

SPEAKER_01 (06:08):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (06:08):
Because I think it should be there.

SPEAKER_01 (06:10):
Well, and I'm sure it will be.
I thought that they could dosome sort of creepy dessert or
because they had the ice creamor the gelato place right there.
They could do it.
So they could do something likethat.
Yeah themed along there.
There's also going to be a newMonsters Inc.
show there.

unknown (06:26):
Yes.

SPEAKER_01 (06:27):
With taking over where the Muppets were.
Shows are great anyway.
Yeah.
Sad that the Muppets are gone.
But I'm sure I'll enjoy the newMonsters Ink show.
As far as a drink, I kind ofthought what we did for our
episode last week, where itwould just have a gummy eyeball
in it.
Whatever the drink is, it's justgonna have a gummy eyeball in
it.
A big one.

(06:47):
A big gummy eyeball.

SPEAKER_00 (06:48):
Right at the top.
Like takes up most of the top ofthe glass.
Yeah.
Staring at you.
Yeah.
I like that.
A gummy eyeball cake.
I like that.
So I looked up actual drinks foreverything and have one.
So with Harry Hausen sushirestaurant, I have a sake teeny.
Oh.
Okay.
So it's a martini with sakereplacing the vermouth.

(07:12):
Oh, very interesting.
So it's gin and sake.
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (07:16):
That would be interesting to try.

SPEAKER_00 (07:18):
That's my drink.
For Harry Hausens.
And I have this ranked numbertwo.

SPEAKER_01 (07:21):
Okay.
Number two.
And so the reason I had mine isnumber one.
I think this has the mostpotential to be the most fun
land for everyone.
So when you think of Galaxy'sEdge, you know, Blackspire
Outpost.
I think everybody enjoys walkingthrough there, enjoys the rides,

(07:42):
whatnot.
There is a specific fan.
It's a niche.
It's a niche land.
Right.
Monsters Inc., I think, becauseit'll have the thrills, but it's
going to appeal to little kids.
I think it's going to be, and Iit looks like they're going to
have some sort of a littleplayground area there.
I think it's going to have themost appeal to the most people.
That's why I ranked it as numberone.

(08:04):
Interesting.
And I'm just really lookingforward to that ride, that
roller coaster.

SPEAKER_00 (08:08):
Yeah, I'm that roller coaster is the most
exciting thing, probably.
Yeah.
But I ranked my number one forthe exact same reason.
I think it's going to be themost fun land.

SPEAKER_01 (08:17):
Okay.

SPEAKER_00 (08:18):
Interesting.
Do you want to go to that onenext?
Well, yeah, because it's ournext one.
What is the next one?
Villain's Land.
You probably ranked it last.

SPEAKER_01 (08:25):
I ranked it dead last.
Really?

SPEAKER_00 (08:27):
I think it has the most potential.
I love this idea.
I mean, most Disney adult likeus does like the idea.
And I know you like the idea, soyou have probably other reasons
why.
But let's talk about the landfirst.
What we know about it.

SPEAKER_01 (08:40):
Nothing.

SPEAKER_00 (08:41):
There's there's rumors of a maleficent roller
coaster.

SPEAKER_01 (08:44):
I think it's supposed to the rumors are two
e-ticket attractions in there.
Yeah.
So I'm hoping that there's asmall kid ride.
So an A-ticket attraction ofsome sort along the lines of one
of the villains from FantasyDisneyland, Fantasyland.
So Snow White or Pinocchio orPinocchio's Daring Journey could

(09:10):
be but more on the villainaspect of it.
Something not real scary tokids, but honestly, I think that
I thought about Mr.
Toads rebuilding that becausethat's got some villainy stuff
going to hell in it.
But it doesn't have an actualvillain, so that wouldn't quite
work.

SPEAKER_00 (09:29):
But I think a villain that judges kind of
villainy.
Right to hell.
He wasn't even messing around.

SPEAKER_01 (09:34):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (09:34):
So I ranked it number one for the same reasons
your monsters ink, because Ireally think the villains are
fun.

SPEAKER_01 (09:41):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (09:42):
It has a chance to be a spooky land, but also what
they say is hilarious.
Any interaction with the villainis always fun for kids.
Like Cruella DeVilla Kids isawesome to watch.
She's hilarious.
Just to add in that with the oldlady with an apple walking
around.
If it has lots of characterinvolvement, which Disney
World's not great at, so we'llsee.

SPEAKER_01 (10:04):
It needs to have characters that wander around.
It does.
So Cruella, the bestinteraction, I didn't even
really have it with her.
Somebody else did.
She looked down.
This guy was pushing a stroller.
No but no kids were in thestroller.
You she you seem to have lostyour children.
Congratulations.
And she walked off.

(10:24):
It was hilarious because justoff the top of her head, she
yeah.
So those sound really good.
I ranked it last because I'mlike I like villains, and I'm
I'm gonna love the land, but I'mnot like a huge villains fan.
There are certain villains Ilike.

SPEAKER_00 (10:42):
This is if they do it right.

SPEAKER_01 (10:44):
Yes.

SPEAKER_00 (10:44):
I mean, this could be the best one.

SPEAKER_01 (10:46):
Sure, they'll do a great job with it.

SPEAKER_00 (10:48):
Like Car's Land at DCA.
I had no idea that it would lookthat awesome.
Yeah.
Walking down it when they werebuilding it.
And it's perfect.
Yeah.
So yeah, any any of these couldbe done right.
Do you have a restaurant or adrink or anything to go with
this land?

SPEAKER_01 (11:01):
So of course they have to have a villain's lounge.

SPEAKER_00 (11:04):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (11:05):
And but specialty cocktails themed to different
villains from around the world.
So there's gonna be for Dr.
Facilier, there'd be like aSazerac.

SPEAKER_00 (11:15):
Like it.

SPEAKER_01 (11:16):
So for Jafar, there might be something that you
would find in the MoroccoPavilion.
So one of and what uh we had theMedina mixer, I believe, one
time.
Very good drink, but somethinglike that.
So some sort of Moroccan NorthAfrican type drink.
Same thing like Genie could be,or Jafar, some European stuff

(11:39):
for the different villains,Maleficent or the evil queen.
But then there's I'm trying to,and I can't remember like Moana.

SPEAKER_00 (11:49):
The bad person in Moana?
You're testing.
We're really bad at DisneyTrivia.

SPEAKER_01 (11:54):
But my idea is you have a themed drink from the
land that they represent.

SPEAKER_00 (12:01):
That would work well with my idea of a restaurant.

SPEAKER_01 (12:04):
Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00 (12:04):
My idea of a restaurant is a villain's leg,
so it has multiple rooms.
Oh, themed to the deep themed toa different villain.
Like pick four or five villains.
Yeah.
These little small rooms.
That would be very cool.
That would go with your drinksin each room.
But my drink I came up with is ait's so the name of the drink,

(12:25):
it's at a pub in Seattle.
Okay.
It's called Magic the Gathering,so that's off a card game, not
Disney.
But the drinks sounded great.
It's with gin, it's DimayLiqueur, sparkling wine, orange
and pea flour with a smoking dryice.
Ooh.

SPEAKER_01 (12:43):
That does sound interesting.
And villainy.
And villainy.
With the dry ice.
Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (12:48):
I mean, that's all I look for.
So yeah, so that's why I rankedit number one, even though so
little is known.

SPEAKER_01 (12:52):
Yeah, that was probably the hardest one because
they haven't done anything toget us excited about it.
Now, my thoughts could change, but right now, yeah, it's last
because I'm not necessarily ahuge villains fan.

SPEAKER_00 (13:08):
And I think this could it has the potential to
compete with that park up north.
The park up north.
Okay.
Next is Piston Peak.
Okay.
Well, how'd you rank that one?
That was ranked third for me.

SPEAKER_01 (13:19):
Third?
Yes.
Okay.
What about you?
Oh, I have it ranked fourth.
Oh, so somewhat close.
So that we know it's going tohave cars road rally.
So kind of a mountain four-wheeldrive version of Radiator
Springs Racers.
I think the same type of ridetrack, but it's going to be more
bumpy as if you're doing anoff-road race.

SPEAKER_00 (13:42):
Yeah, they show the testing they did with the
off-road vehicles.

SPEAKER_01 (13:45):
The ATVs and stuff.
It's also supposed to have asmaller family-friendly ride.

SPEAKER_00 (13:49):
Yeah, so with cars at DCA, already that that's the
CARS universe to me.
I don't know if they want one inFlorida, want something
cars-related, but to me it's notnecessary.

SPEAKER_01 (14:00):
They're gonna release a movie.
Okay.
I'm almost positive.
Yeah, right before that, to getpeople excited about going and
seeing it to see if it matchesup.
They will release a Cars movierelated to Piston Peak.
That sounds plausible.
My because they couldn't walkaway from that IP and a chance

(14:22):
to do a sequel.

SPEAKER_00 (14:23):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (14:24):
They love their sequels, so I just don't know.

SPEAKER_00 (14:26):
I gotta see it to buy this all the way.
Uh-huh.
I really have to.
Yeah.
I just don't know how it's gonnabe.
It just looks alright so far tome.
The idea of it.

SPEAKER_01 (14:37):
I don't know.
It's something about theoutdoors always appeals to me.

SPEAKER_00 (14:40):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (14:41):
And I think that's why it's probably kind of got my
attention a little bit more.

SPEAKER_00 (14:46):
I don't love Radiator Springs Racer.
I think it's okay.
It's fun.
It's fun.
Between the line how long theline is.

SPEAKER_01 (14:53):
Yeah.
That's a single rider line allthe time.

SPEAKER_00 (14:56):
If we do the math, yeah.
It's not my favorite ride.

SPEAKER_01 (14:58):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (14:58):
Break down the line time plus ride experience.

SPEAKER_01 (15:01):
Yeah, like I would never buy the single rider or
the lightning lane for that one.
Right.
Which it's because it's anindividual pass.
Right.
But I would go do the singlerider, especially in the morning
because there's no line in thesingle rider.
Right, single rider's fine.

SPEAKER_00 (15:17):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (15:18):
I came up with a lounge and a restaurant.

SPEAKER_00 (15:21):
Oh, okay.
You went crazy.

SPEAKER_01 (15:23):
Yeah.
So table service restaurant, because I don't think that
there's enough good, like lowerend table service restaurants in
Magic Kingdom.
There's a lot of quick serviceand there's a lot of high-end.
Liberty Tree Tavern is probablykind of in there.
And Skipper Canteen are kind ofthe lower end.

(15:45):
So something along those lines, but another one, because I think
they just need another one.
But comfort food, but RockyMountain region.
Right.
So this could be hatched chilisomething from New Mexico, but
it could have bison burgers orcountry fried steak or I just

(16:06):
changed my idea.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So foods along those lines.
Just the real biscuits andgravy.
And they could do a breakfast, but just in that, like that
region and stuff, and beef andlamb and things like one of the
things I was so I actually wasGoogling what are some iconic
Rocky Mountain foods and stuff.

(16:27):
And but they mentioned trout.
So might be uh, you know, Idon't know how well that would
go over, but you know, that's apossibility.
But one thing I saw, sohuckleberries.
Okay.
So thinking about like an icecream or a dessert place, it
just does everythinghuckleberries.

SPEAKER_00 (16:47):
You like that.

SPEAKER_01 (16:48):
I I think that I would be game for that.

SPEAKER_00 (16:50):
Yeah, that's funny.

SPEAKER_01 (16:52):
But I also did a lounge, and the problem is it's
a beer and whiskey lounge.
Because that just fits with thewestern theme, like beers and
whiskeys.

SPEAKER_00 (17:04):
But it had to be like a reservation beer and
whiskey lounge kind of place inMagic Kingdom.

SPEAKER_01 (17:08):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (17:09):
Can't be a walk-up.

SPEAKER_01 (17:11):
But and the problem is, is you couldn't call it like
well, you could get away maybe asaloon, the something saloon,
Piston Peak Saloon, or somethingalong those lines.
That was my idea, is it just hasto be beer and whiskey.
Okay.
As the theme of that'sinteresting.
Yeah, so multiple types of beer, multiple types of whiskey.

(17:32):
Right.
That's good.
I think the if you got thetheming right, it'd be great.

SPEAKER_00 (17:35):
Yeah, that's a good idea.
So my idea was uh I had a picnicarea restaurant where it's an
outdoor picnic because it's likea restaurant park.
But after you were talking, Ilike the idea of like a wagon
train.
Oh, and then an outdoor thing orlike a chuck wagon thing.
Chuck wagons, that's the name ofthe restaurant.

SPEAKER_01 (17:53):
Chuck wagons.

SPEAKER_00 (17:54):
Yeah, so after you were talking about the kind of
food you would serve, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (18:01):
Big plate of pork and beans.
That's what you want to eat inthe crowded theme park.

SPEAKER_00 (18:06):
That's a great idea for a restaurant.
Yeah.
The big wagon sitting out whereyou walk in, it's like a
conestoga wagon.

SPEAKER_01 (18:14):
But can you imagine like you just go sit in the
wagon?
Oh yeah.
I think that's great.
Like there's some outdoorseating, but like the wagon
seating as well.

SPEAKER_00 (18:25):
I have wagon seating for four.
Yeah.
My drink is Sally's sangria.
Okay.
Just a simple sangria.
Sally the little Porsche car andcars.
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (18:36):
I'm just thinking that the theme.
Sangria is not really maybesouthwest the southwestern.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (18:44):
That's where we're at.
Okay.
Yeah.
Southern Arizona.
There you go.
This is in right outside of FortLachuka, one of my homes.
So that's what I have for thePiston Peak National Park.

SPEAKER_01 (18:56):
Should we do Pandora Avatar next?
So it's the movie Way of Waterthemed, from what I understand.

SPEAKER_00 (19:03):
Yeah, there's so many rumors around this.
Yeah.
Everyone's just saying stuff.

SPEAKER_01 (19:06):
So it is going to be where Monsters Inc.
the ri Mike and Sully to theRescue.
Is that the name of it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's going to be in there.
And I did Hay Bricky did a videoon where he thinks it's going to
start and where it'll end.
I think it's the Hyperion.
Hopefully, they do somethingwith the Hyperion.

SPEAKER_00 (19:30):
We can say that every episode because we always
wish this and it's not going tohappen.
Yeah, there's not shows.
There's no shows at Disneyland.

SPEAKER_01 (19:37):
So it's just to have a big water ride, like an
e-ticket water ride.
Uh-huh.
I think I've read potential onesmaller ride.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (19:46):
The information is all rumors everywhere.
There's nothing.
So I ranked it last.

SPEAKER_01 (19:51):
So it what it is with the water ride is because
they show a water ride in allthe artwork.
It's like the Maleficence rollercoaster.

SPEAKER_00 (20:00):
But why don't they just say something?

SPEAKER_01 (20:02):
I know.
Because of probably how longit's going to take.

SPEAKER_00 (20:05):
Or they don't know yet.

SPEAKER_01 (20:06):
I think they do.

SPEAKER_00 (20:07):
Probably.

SPEAKER_01 (20:08):
There's I mean, they might still be working on it.

SPEAKER_00 (20:10):
They like to sit on stuff too and get us excited.
Well when no one's excited aboutit anymore.

SPEAKER_01 (20:15):
You know when we'll find out about the final avatar
and the final villains land inthe opening day of the ride?
D23 next year.

SPEAKER_00 (20:24):
When it pops up on their lightning lanes.
There you go.
For a$200 individual lightninglane.

SPEAKER_01 (20:29):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (20:30):
So.
Where'd you rank it?

SPEAKER_01 (20:32):
I ranked that fourth.
It is slightly above villains.
Yeah.
Although I, in my mind, probablyabout equal right now.
They're the two.
And these are my rankings arehow excited I am to see them.
And that one, it's like, meh, because Pandora at Animal
Kingdom just isn't.

(20:52):
It's cool looking, but becauseit closes so early, you never
get to see it at night.
And that's when it looks reallyincredible.
It's small.
So meh, it just they're not, itdoesn't build the excitement.

SPEAKER_00 (21:05):
And that's why I have it last.
Same idea.
I like the ride at AnimalKingdom.
But I don't love the land.
The land looks pretty cool.
Yeah.
There's not much to it, like yousaid.

SPEAKER_01 (21:15):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (21:15):
It's just kind of there.
I feel this is gonna be the samething.

SPEAKER_01 (21:18):
Although.

SPEAKER_00 (21:19):
And it's the only big thing Disneyland's adding.

SPEAKER_01 (21:22):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (21:22):
Which it kind of sucks.

SPEAKER_01 (21:23):
Yeah, and they haven't.
I wonder if they'll do moreinformation about Disney Forward
next year, D23.
We'll see.
But they do need to absolutelytransplant 100% Satole Canteen.
Because that that's good food.

SPEAKER_00 (21:37):
Yeah, I don't think they'll I don't think they'll
transplant anything though.

SPEAKER_01 (21:40):
At least I mean I don't care if they call it
Satole Canteen, but they need todo like the same type of menu.

SPEAKER_00 (21:47):
Yeah.
I think the only I mean, is theonly place they've done that as
Galaxy's Edge to transplant awhole exact restaurant into the
other park.
I think so.
Yeah, they don't do that really.
Unless they make the whole land, they're gonna make something
different.
Yeah.
Try to have a SouthernCalifornia flair.

SPEAKER_01 (22:02):
Menu.
Just the menu.
Well, that's the thing, is a lotof the Satoli Canteen reminds me
it seems more Californian.

SPEAKER_00 (22:09):
So that's your restaurant?

SPEAKER_01 (22:11):
Setulic and the same type of drinks and same food.
There's not a lot of drinks orplaces to drink necessarily
there.
So I don't know.
You know, maybe they'll havelike Pongo Pongo with the
because you tried one of those, didn't you?
When you went with Christy?

SPEAKER_00 (22:30):
Yes, but I don't remember which one it was.

SPEAKER_01 (22:32):
It was a blended drink.

SPEAKER_00 (22:33):
Yes, we each had one.
She had the non-alcoholicversion, and I had the alcoholic
version.
That's why I learned aboutDisney World is it different
than Disneyland.
You know, at Disneyland, theyhave it's a yellow cup if you're
having an alcoholic drink.
Oh white one if you're not.
Okay.
And they gave me two white cupsat Disney World, so I asked her,
because I said at Disneyland,it's a yellow cup, because I

(22:54):
never ordered a non-alcoholicbeverage.
It's only been alcoholicbeverages.
She said the non-alcoholicdrinks have Disney characters
rimmed around them.
Okay.
Because Disney characters don'tdrink.
No.
That's what she said.
That was funny.
Yeah, so she got cast membercompliment for being hilarious.
For being funny.
Yep, you get cast membercompliments for jokes with me.

(23:16):
So yeah, so my restaurant iscalled Taste of Pandora.
It's a fancy eatery with alllike infused foods, like fusion.
Fusion, okay.
And make it like Pandora with aPandora twist.
So it's up to the chef to what aPandora twist is, of course.
Make them different foods.
Like a fancy chef from like aMichelin star chef comes in.

(23:39):
So like the Thule Canteen.
Well, kind of but fancier.
So fancier.
High-end foods, high-end drinks.
And my drink here is the MapleBacon Manhattan.

SPEAKER_01 (23:49):
Do they need that though?
Or do they need another high-endrestaurant at DCA?
Why wouldn't they?
So they've got the Italianplace.

SPEAKER_00 (23:58):
They'll do plenty of business.
Yeah, this is true.
There's gonna be a reason forsomeone to not go to one of the
restaurants in downtown Disneyand get a ticket to the park to
go to this restaurant.
Yeah.
So it's gonna be nice.
Okay.
And it's gonna be different.
It's gonna be a brand new, there's not a restaurant like
it.
It's not gonna be someone else'srestaurant.
Kind of like Space 220.

(24:19):
Kind of the vibe around that, but with some chef that's like
totally inventive.
Like out there.
And so the maple bacon Manhattanis whiskey, vermouth, maple
syrup, and with a bacon garnish.
Sounds great.
Sounds bacon.
Yeah, bacon.
But you I got you a bacon.
Yeah.
So that's our avatar land.

(24:40):
Our last one is TropicalAmericas, Animal Kingdom.
Aaron.

SPEAKER_01 (24:46):
Yes.

SPEAKER_00 (24:46):
That's our last one we're talking about.

SPEAKER_01 (24:48):
I was looking at Satuly Canteen if that was
fusion.
I think it is fusion.
I think he just fancied thoseup.
I'm not letting this go.
Okay, anyway, Puebla Esperanza.
Tropical Americas.
Right.

SPEAKER_00 (25:00):
Ranked number two for me.
Okay, number two.
I have it ranked number three.
And my reason for number threeis all about the Indiana Jones
ride.
I think Indiana Jones ruins thewhole vibe.
They should have just kept itcocoa and Encanto, in my
opinion.
The entire land should have beenthat and something.
They could have done a greatCoco.

SPEAKER_01 (25:22):
Oh, they could have done a really good cocoa in that
dinosaur.

SPEAKER_00 (25:26):
We've talked about this before.

SPEAKER_01 (25:27):
The spirit animal.
Like if they're riding the backof one of the spirit animals.

SPEAKER_00 (25:31):
They could do all sorts of stuff.

SPEAKER_01 (25:33):
Yeah.
And that's what I thought thatthey the problem is Cocoa is not
considered.
This is South America.
I know, but it's it's Cocoa isMexico.

SPEAKER_00 (25:42):
I know.

SPEAKER_01 (25:43):
I know, but but that's why.
Well, yeah, but come on, you canput Indiana Jones anywhere.

SPEAKER_00 (25:49):
You could make a Utah ride with Indiana Jones.
Yeah, so that's what Idiscovered fossils, dinosaur
fossils, and they just they tookthe easy way out.

SPEAKER_01 (25:58):
I hope they kind of mellow it out because dinosaurs
just rough.
I don't dinosaurs okay.
I like Indiana Jones, yeah.
Disneyland.
I'm not a huge fan of dinosaurs.

SPEAKER_00 (26:09):
Yeah, it is rougher.

SPEAKER_01 (26:10):
Yeah.
So anyway, they have the CasaMajigal ride.
Could be great.
No idea what it if it's gonna belike a water ride-through,
slow-moving, like a Pandora typeof thing, or if it's gonna be
something completely different,a little high speed.
Yeah, who knows?
But it'll Indiana Jones, andthen they have the carousel.

SPEAKER_00 (26:31):
You like a carousel?

SPEAKER_01 (26:33):
I think the theming and the aesthetics on this is
gonna be really incredible.
So I'm looking forward to thisone, just to at least get a
picture of it.
So I have a SouthAmerican-themed lounge.
So aesthetically, the reason Iwent with number two for this
one, aesthetically, I think thisis gonna be one of the best,
potentially the best lookinglands.

SPEAKER_00 (26:55):
Right, and that's why it would have been number
two or one for me if it wasn'tfor the Indiana Jones round.
Really?
It's a good way.
That's what moved it to three.
If it would have just been evenif it's kicked off back there in
the back where you can't see it,yeah, but still part of the
land.
It just ruined it for me when Iwas ranking them.
I get it.

SPEAKER_01 (27:11):
Yeah, there's sometimes stuff like that can
ruin it.

SPEAKER_00 (27:14):
And conto's my jam.

SPEAKER_01 (27:15):
It is.

SPEAKER_00 (27:16):
I watch it all the freaking time.

SPEAKER_01 (27:19):
So South American themed lounge with I want them
to have a Kuiperina.
Okay, yeah.
You do.
Yeah.
You got excited when you saidthat.
Kuiperinhas are really good.
It's muddle lime cachaça, whichis like a Brazilian rum shaken.
Yeah, that's that's some goodstuff.

SPEAKER_00 (27:36):
Maybe some simple syrup.
Maybe if it's too if it's tootart.
Simple syrup.
Yeah, so my restaurant isoutside of the ride.
It's outside the ride, so youcan still see the casito.
Okay.
It's still there.
It's part of the restaurant, kind of.
Because you can see the backsideof it or the front side,
wherever the ride goes.
And uh it's an outdoor party.

(27:57):
Okay.
And there's music, there's lampseverywhere.

SPEAKER_01 (28:02):
Okay, you don't think that they should just
convert restaurant a saurus towell, that's probably what
they'll do.
Then that's probably what yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (28:09):
That's probably what they'll do.
That's the easiest way.
But yeah, something RestaurantSaurus is too much a cafe style
for me.

SPEAKER_01 (28:16):
It is.
They'll probably have someindoor seating with some AC, but
it would be a great outdoorarea.

SPEAKER_00 (28:21):
Yeah, they're gonna tear it all apart for me.

SPEAKER_01 (28:23):
With the town square, yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (28:25):
Yeah, yeah, lights and the whole yeah, lots of
music.

SPEAKER_01 (28:29):
Party atmosphere, party atmosphere.
Thinking South American quickservice out of there.
So more Peruvian, Brazilianfoods as opposed to and so
savory over spicy.

SPEAKER_00 (28:43):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (28:44):
Because I think South American is more savory.
Okay.
So if they went with a high-end,like a Brazil grill, like a
gaucho, where they just bringaround like skewers of meat and
all you can eat, and they'rejust hacking off chunks of meat
onto your plate.

SPEAKER_00 (28:59):
I think if you made your own Disney park, I think
one of your lands would berestaurant land.

SPEAKER_01 (29:03):
Restaurant land, yes.

SPEAKER_00 (29:05):
Just a land full of restaurants.

SPEAKER_01 (29:07):
I thought about when we did the week, they'll go to
the park.

SPEAKER_00 (29:10):
I'm really excited over the restaurant.

SPEAKER_01 (29:11):
I do, because I think that they do a they can do
a good job with it.
You do a good job.

SPEAKER_00 (29:15):
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's an outdoor party for me.
Where's my drink?
Oh, it's a simple CaptainMorgan's pina colada.

SPEAKER_01 (29:22):
Is that South American?

SPEAKER_00 (29:23):
No, but it's my drink I made for this land.
It's a pina colada.
Has Captain Morgan's in itbecause I thought it sounded
good.
It's my it's my restaurant,also.
You'll order it.
I'll sell a bunch of them.
You probably won't outsell yourdrink.

SPEAKER_01 (29:37):
No, you won't.

SPEAKER_00 (29:38):
I would.

SPEAKER_01 (29:38):
No, because people will want to buy a Kuiperina to
say that they've had aKuiperina.

SPEAKER_00 (29:43):
Yeah, but some people will, but everyone will
get they'll have one of those.

SPEAKER_01 (29:54):
No.

SPEAKER_00 (29:55):
They'll sell like mad.

SPEAKER_01 (29:56):
They'll be like, why are they selling this tropical?

SPEAKER_00 (30:00):
South Seas drink.
Oh, sorry, we're out because wesold them all already.
That's what I'll say.
We're out of Captain Morgan'sagain.
I just was looking at a CaptainPedia Colonel and I saw Captain
Morgan's and I really liked it.
It looked like a great drink, sodon't bug me.
It's my restaurant.
I choose Captain Morgan's.
I'm going to sell the crap outof him.

SPEAKER_01 (30:19):
Puebla Esperanza, the failures.

SPEAKER_00 (30:22):
Biggest is drink Dizzy's ever had.

SPEAKER_01 (30:24):
I wonder what their biggest drink is.

SPEAKER_00 (30:26):
I know, but you're saying Captain Morgan's a
pirate, right?
Seriously.

SPEAKER_01 (30:29):
Well, he's a pirate.

SPEAKER_00 (30:30):
So we're having Indiana Jones there, and he's
been all over the world.
So is this Captain?
The Captain was been there.
He's been there.

SPEAKER_01 (30:36):
I need to look this up.

SPEAKER_00 (30:39):
What are you looking up now?
Has Captain Morgan ever been toin Canto Land?

SPEAKER_01 (30:44):
What part of the world?
Who knows what he's doing here?
Our Pina Coladas.

SPEAKER_00 (30:53):
Captain Morgan was a pirate.
He came there, he brought a pinacolada-based drink with his rum.

SPEAKER_01 (30:58):
Oh.
Pina coladas are from PuertoRico.

SPEAKER_00 (31:01):
There you go.

SPEAKER_01 (31:02):
That's kind of close.
Pretty close.
Right where a pirate would be agood thing.

SPEAKER_00 (31:08):
So you're against the drink.
I'm against the drink.
And you tried to argue itbecause so I'm saying they had a
pina colada already.
Captain Morgan came up.
He was going to pillage theland, right?
So here's the story.
This is a backstory, Aaron.
You're missing my backstory.
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (31:22):
What's your backstory?

SPEAKER_00 (31:22):
So Captain Morgan was going to pillage the land.
He pulled up to tropicalAmericas.

SPEAKER_01 (31:26):
Pillaged like a village.

SPEAKER_00 (31:28):
He was going to pillage it, but then he was
like, they invited him in.
And he was so awestruck.
And so all his men came in andthey partied.
And he said, You try my room?
And then boom.
Totally works.
It tracks.

SPEAKER_01 (31:40):
Oh, I misspelled pina.
Oh no, it autocorrected.

SPEAKER_00 (31:43):
In a groove here with the pina colada.
That is all of our parks, though.

SPEAKER_01 (31:47):
That's all that's all of them.
Monsters Inc., Puebla Esperanza,Piston Peak, Pandora, Avatar,
whatever they're going to callit, and villains like that.

SPEAKER_00 (31:55):
I think we can sum up that we're excited for all of
them and we have no idea what'sgoing to happen.
I'm going to be happy with allof them.
Like any one of these could benumber one.
Yeah.
Any one of these can be numberfive.

SPEAKER_01 (32:05):
So that's what I think.
I think it's Puebla Esperanza isgoing to be ready first, then
the Monstropolis, then PistonPeak, and then Pandora and
Avatar, I think, are going to belast.
That's the order I think thatthey're going to be finished.

SPEAKER_00 (32:21):
Right.
So what do you guys think?

SPEAKER_01 (32:23):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (32:23):
Right.

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (32:41):

SPEAKER_01 (32:44):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (32:45):
Like dib it.

SPEAKER_01 (32:46):
But anyway, my drink is gone.
Yours is you've hardly touchedit.

SPEAKER_00 (32:49):
It gives me something to argue with you
about Pina Clause after this.

SPEAKER_01 (32:52):
Yes.
Cheers.
Cheers.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
